our blooming youth started airing and i made three sets out of the pilot alone so i'll give that at least another week to gauge whether the piqued curiosity fizzles.......

Three ships (gonna pick ships that aren't canon or heavily implied to be in order to challenge myself cuz 99% of the time I don't spontaneously ship anything that isn't canon):
1. I'll steal this one from you because it's one I really love as well- Cha Young-jin and Jung So-yun in Nobody Knows. They've got that old couple energy. They've got history.
2. Shogo Kanetaka and Hideki Murooka from the 2022 film Hell Dogs. No, I was not immune to their chemistry.
3. ... House and Wilson from House MD. There, I said it.
First ship
I legitimately could not tell you what my first ship was because like I said before, it was never my instinct to ship anyone, even when I was younger 😭 So I guess I should go with House and Wilson again cuz I first watched House when I was 15 or 16.
Last song
The "逆上堪能ケロイドミルク（plucking:Mr.NEWSMAN）" mix by Dir En Grey, which I've been listening to on repeat again for the past hour. Idk why I've been addicted to this remix for months.
Last movie
I just rewatched RRR earlier today with my mom because I loved that movie so much when I first watched it the other week (easily one of my favourite films ever) that I couldn't wait to show it to her (she loved it too).

Moby Dick (been on hold for a while sadly though) and a few others but that's the main one currently.

Currently finishing up both The Devil Judge and Chief Kim and I've been very slow with these two because on one hand Devil Judge is going down a very dark and frankly frustrating route rn even though I still enjoy it so I'm taking a break from it, and on the other Chief Kim is so enjoyable and funny I don't want it to end. Oh and I almost forgot Would You Like A Cup of Coffee?, which I still need to finish.
Once I finally finish those I've got more lined up that I want to see.

Junk food. Not great I know but I really want chips right now and don't have any at home.

Griddlehark (Gideon/Harrow from the Locked Tomb series) they occupy my thoughts 24/7. I don't even know how to describe their relationship. Mortal enemies to conwomen together to "I'll do terrible things for you, to you and to myself" ???
Stede/Ed from Our Flag Means Death. My lil bit fucked up pirates and their crew have a permanent residence in my heart.
Sokka/Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I got into it waaaaay after the show finished, and again it's the enemies to friends to lovers that gets me.
(apparently I have a thing for the "sunshine one/grumpy one" trope on top of the enemies to lovers things)
First ship
Ewilan/Salim from a French fantasy book series, "La Quête d'Ewilan" (and then "les Mondes d'Ewilan") (and then the Ellana trilogy!) by Pierre Bottero. Forever sad that the author died before finishing his next trilogy.

The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir, for the third time. It's the first time since high school I've had to actually take notes to keep track of what's going on. I'm giving myself homework on these books. They make my brain fizzle.

Three ships
Sky and Prapai (Love in the Air) - I am a basic human, craving that good hurt/comfort, and they DELIVER. also love how much Pai finds Sky’s sass so hot, as its equally relatable and hillarious
Yona and Hak (Yona of the Dawn) - Again, a man who just finds his beloved doing violence upon others really hot, it’s just something special~
Sorawit and That (Manner of Death) - I do not understand just WHY I love them so much, they dont have much screentime together and are in that vague-zone relationship wise, but daaaang they had something so unique
First ship
I realised that shipping was a thing while watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I became so pissed at Aang and Katara ending up together, when Zuko and Katara clearly had soooo many loaded and emotional moments, and then promptly fell down the youtube-AMV hole

I See You - MISSIO. This song makes me groove and cry at the same time, so it’s perfect for doing the dishes:)

I really want to watch The Warp Effect and Our Blooming Youth. AND of the western media variety, I am watching Star Trek Strange New Worlds, Ghosts, and I really, really do plan to watch Yellowjackets.

Happy belated birthday! And again, congrats for a successful defense! I'm sending my prompt for the spam weekend early this time because I don't want to miss the window. Problem is I'm not really inspired. Mmmhh... Seeing as you share your birthday with Tang Yi and Halloween is just around the corner, why not the History3: Trapped guys involved in some spoopy supernatural adventures that may turn out not so supernatural in the end? Thank you for doing this!

Tang Yi critically looked at the list Meng Shaofei had placed in front of him. On it, ten tasks were clearly outlined. Some were benign, many spiritual sounding, and the rest were absurd.
“And who told you to do this?” Tang Yi asked as he held up the list as if it was diseased.
“Ah Yi,” Meng Shaofei whined. “It’s for you!”
“What?”
“Now that you’ve come out of prison, we should cleanse your spirit, dispel any remaining bad luck and evil, and let you start again fresh.” Tang Yi simply continued to stare down Meng Shaofei with a stony expression. “Ah Yi! I went to a very good fortune teller just for you! She wrote down this list for me! What’s the harm in just trying?”
“The harm is to my self-respect.”
“Ah Yi...” Tang Yi took in the way that Meng Shaofei widened his eyes and jut out his bottom lip.
“You’re a grown man, stop pouting like a child.”
Meng Shaofei rolled his eyes, and this time put his arms around Tang Yi’s neck. “Pleaaaaase, Tang Yi?”
Even though it had been a few months since his release from prison, Tang Yi had still not reacclimated to the warmth and weight of Meng Shaofei leaning on him. He’d missed it far too much and his annoying boyfriend knew it.
“...Fine.”

With Meng Shaofei at his side, Tang Yi visited temples, bought plants and planted them in his yard himself. They went to a specific restaurant which Tang Yi noted had a very particular name and ordered very particular dishes which were supposed to have the good luck effect Meng Shaofei desired.
(And if Tang Yi caught sight of a familiar head of dyed red hair, he didn’t say anything about it.)
After their “lucky” lunch, they went shopping to buy a matching lucky outfit set to wear the color that Meng Shaofei had been told would be the best for their purposes that day. Tang Yi swore up and down that the only reason he agreed to wear the ridiculous t-shirt Meng Shaofei chose was to keep him quiet, but Meng Shaofei had seen Tang Yi quietly admiring the cut and fit so it was moot.
It was when Meng Shaofei said that the next task was ordering bubble tea from a particular store at the mall that Tang Yi finally put a stop to the nonsense.
“Since when is bubble tea from a shop we’ve been to several times before lucky?” Tang Yi asked as he refused to take one more step into the shop.
“Tang Yi! We’re almost done! Just share a drink with me!”
“Meng. Shao. Fei.”
Meng Shaofei huffed and drooped. “Please?” Tang Yi raised his eyebrow and Meng Shaofei offered him his supposed list.
“This is your awful handwriting.” Tang Yi shoved the list back in Meng Shaofei’s pocket, ignoring his yelp of surprise. “Was any of this even supposed to be lucky or spiritual at all?”
“Well the first parts yeah...” Meng Shaofei reached for Tang Yi’s hand and was not denied, so he continued while squeezing Tang Yi’s hand. “But... Tang Yi... It’s been months since you came home. You haven’t gone out except for business. You send assistants or me for groceries. You won’t even come with me to go out for a date.”
“I told you , I’m just trying to stabilize the corporation-”
“It’s stable. Zuo Hongye has done very well with Gu Daoyi.”
“I have to re-establish-”
“You’re still CEO and everyone respects you plenty.”
“Meng Shaofei! Don’t you-”
“I’m... I’m not trying to invalidate how you feel.” Meng Shaofei stepped closer. “I just want you to get outside again. To go somewhere with you again.”
Meng Shaofei moved to let go of Tang Yi’s hand, but Tang Yi’s grip suddenly strengthened. “Shaofei...”
“There he is...” Meng Shaofei smiled and cupped Tang Yi’s cheek. “There’s my Ah Yi.” Tang Yi rolled his eyes, but he remained in Meng Shaofei’s hold. “I know I pushed you a lot today. So, thank you. If you don’t want to finish the list, we can just go home and I won’t bother you for the rest of the day.”
Tang Yi took a deep breath and sighed. “Go order tea for us and then we’ll go watch that movie you had written on your list.”
Meng Shaofei smiled and kissed Tang Yi’s cheek before running into the shop so there was as little time as possible for Tang Yi to change his mind.

May Prompts - YaoYutong (SCI)
“Zhan Yao?” Bai Yutong pushes open the door to Zhan Yao’s apartment.
He had rang the bell, but the professor hadn’t seemed to notice.
Luckily for him, he still has the spare key.
Bai Yutong tends to avoid using the key. It seemed… he doesn’t really know WHY… it just felt… doesn’t feel right.
He wouldn’t have come by anyway if Zhan Yao hadn’t been … strange lately.
By which he means he hadn’t heard of him for days.
Zhan Yao hadn’t shown up at the office for a few days.
Not too strange, Bai Yutong would admit. Hadn’t it been for the fact, that Zhan Yao also hadn’t been to his office at the university as well.
In fact, he hadn’t been there for over a week, as the nice secretary at the front desk had told Bai Yutong. Not since, according to them, the Professor had stuffed his arms full of papers and books a week ago and basically had fled the office.
“Zhan Yao?” Bai Yutong calls out again, carefully closing the door behind him.
“Are you home?”
No answer.
Bai Yutong looks around. The flat looks normal. Nothing out of the unusual. Bai Yutong continues his search. By instinct he opts for the most logical option: the small room, Zhan Yao uses as office.
He pushes open the door, rewarded by the shine of a lamp, enlightening Zhan Yao’s work desk. And sure enough, there between stacks of books, some open, some closed with little paperstrips clipped between the pages, the subject of his search: Zhan Yao!
The joy of having found him is brushed away immediately as he steps into the room and gets a good look at Zhan Yao.
“You can’t be serious!” Bai Yutong calls out, putting his hands on his hips, eyebrows furrowed.
Zhan Yao flinches at the sound of his voice.
“Oh”, he lets out a sound almost too thin to catch and turns around slowly.
“Hello, Bai Yutong.”
Bai Yutong stares at him with wide eyes.
“Tell me, when was the last time you ate?”
No answer.
“The last time you slept?”
Again, no answer.
“Changed clothes? Showered? Stood up from this chair?!”
His hand shoots up as Zhan Yao opens his mouth to answer telling him to now answer.
“Not for getting another book!”
Zhan Yao closes his mouth again, making Bai Yutong pinching the breach of his nose in frustration.
Zhan Yao is sticking out his lower lip now, pouting. At least some life is coming back into his tired eyes. “There was no time", he retorts.
Bai Yutong takes in a deep breath, centering himself. Zhan Yao not looking after himself properly, when he’s in his study-slump is nothing new. But it irks him, that it had gotten this bad. And he hadn’t done anything so far. He had to keep a closer look on his professor in the future.
But now is now. He got to take care of this Zhan Yao first, before he could worry about the future one.
He steps inside now, only stopping right next to Zhan Yao, reaching out his hand to take the papers from his hands.
“You’ve worked enough for today, don’t you think?” He keeps his voice firm, trying hard not to sound patronizing. "Or better, enough for days."
But Zhan Yao seems to disagree. He rips the papers from Bai Yutong’s grip, pressing them to his chest.
“I can’t stop just yet!”
It’s now that Bai Yutong sees the feverish shine in Zhan Yao’s eyes. How crinkled up his shirt is. How tired he really looks. That kind of look you only get, when you’ve almost forgotten what sleep even feels like… Up close, Zhan Yao looks miserably close to collapsing.
His chest tightens at the view.
When he speaks up again, his voice is calmer, softer. “How about this? I’ll go to the supermarket and buy some nice ingredients and while you shower, I’ll cook you something nice?”
With a flick of victory he sees Zhan Yao lowering the papers from his chest. But the battles not won yet.
“You’ll cook?”
“Yes.”
“Will you make those roasted sea foods?”
Bai Yutong suppresses a laugh. He nods. “If you want.”
“With the extra spicy sauce?”
He nods again. Of course, the cat gets picky once he gets his eyes on the prize.
“If you want. But!” – he makes a heavy pause. “- only if you get up and get some rest now.”
Zhan Yao’s eyes flick back to the paper ocean on his desk and back to Bai Yutong.
“Deal.”

Bai Yutong is eager to work fast after this agreement. Better be quick, before Zhan Yao changes his mind once again -or worse- faints right over his work…
He had mentally prepared himself to wrestle Zhan Yao away from his work once he came back with the food, but to his surprise the professor almost followed obediently. Bai Yutong doesn’t want to question any of this. He herds Zhan Yao into the bathroom, picking up some clothes from the bedroom beforehand and then rushes into the kitchen. Time to get to work!
They eat quickly and quiet unceremonly. The goal is to get Zhan Yao some food and then some rest as soon as possible. No time for chichi.
Bai Yutong sees to fill up Zhan Yao’s plate with his favourite bits once he finished up the first round, subtly nudges a glass of water the careless professor’s way, as well. Zhan Yao eats all up, a giddy smile surrounding his lips. Finally some life coming back to his tired eyes. And Bai Yutong allows himself a little smile of his own.
Once they finished up, he doesn't know how but he finds himself sitting down on the little sofa in Zhan Yao’s living room. Zhan Yao’s eyes are drooping shut, have been for some while now, but he had insisted on Bai Yutong staying for a little while longer.
Bai Yutong hadn’t complained. Not only because this way he could still have an eye on Zhan Yao. And thus keep him from going back to his work desk. Just to be sure. Also-
His thought is cut short. Because suddenly there’s a new weight leaning against his side. Well, not really new. Zhan Yao’s eyes have finally fallen shut, his head lolling to the side. To the side, against Bai Yutong!
After a moment of shock, Bai Yutong sighs, the knot in his stomach loosening, as he rearranges his position a bit, making Zhan Yao slot against him more comfortably. He moves his arm around Zhan Yao’s shoulder, steadying him.
“I don’t want to know how you survived studying abroad alone”, Bai Yutong hears himself whisper with wonder and horror alike colouring his words.
“Instant noodles and take out.” Zhan Yao mumbles. He leans heavy against Bai Yutong’s side, leaving no space for air.
“I still remember”, Zhan Yao starts, voice strangely muffled by his face pressed against Bai Yutong’s shirt, “once during some exceptionally packed finales week, that one delivery man called me to ask if I was alright.” Zhan Yao is silent for a some time, Bai Yutong can feel his breath evening out. He almost believes him to be asleep, when Zhan Yao continues.
“I forgot to order for a few days. They got worried."
Bai Yutong tenses up, eyes going wide. “Zhan Yao.” Bewilderment probably written all over his face. “Don’t tell me, by forgetting to order you actually mean forgotten to eat.”
Zhan Yao’s silence is all he needs for an answer.
Bai Yutong lets out a deep groan. Frustration palpable in the air. He tightens his grip around Zhan Yao’s shoulder.
“It’s a miracle you’ve survived on your own.” Bai Yutong mumbles more to himself.
“Well, no mouse to look after me in New York, mh.”
There it is, the too familiar fling of pain in his chest, whenever the topic lands on New York. All those years apart. All those years of Zhan Yao having to look after himself all on his own. And he hadn't been there.
It’s a good thing, that he’s back home now.
“Well”, Bai Yutong quips, “I’m here now.”
“Mhh, you are here”, Zhan Yao hums and then he’s out to the world.

There’s no where else he’d rather be right now.

hello my friend! the procrastination went well, i still got my work done though which was very surprising for me fhsnfh but thank you for this one!! i adore kenji :’)
favorite thing about them:
his enthusiasm! i love how he’s just an overgrown puppy and how genuinely excited he is to come home and eat whatever shiro’s cooked for him and how he gives such detailed thoughts to him as well. he’s just so excited about every single little thing in life and it’s adorable!
least favorite thing about them:
i don’t think i really have a least favourite thing about kenji... hm. i don’t believe so! maybe that he’s a bit naive sometimes, but apart from that... i really do adore kenji :’)
favorite line:
“shiro-san bought these all for me. i’m very, very loved.” i remember watching this scene and hearing this line and i swear something shook loose inside of me. it’s simple, yeah, but just... their relationship means so so much to me and this line just hit!
brotp:
this is purely just for the absolute chaos but him and wataru would be so so funny together, they just seem to have such opposite yet same energies and i think wataru would warm up to him once he got over himself. shiro is endlessly amused by their shenanigans but never divulges this secret.
otp:
shiro x kenji!!!! they’re my absolute favourites, they have such a pure relationship and love each other so much and make time for each other and i’m just... so soft. kinou nani tabeta is such a wonderful show :’)
notp:
anyone apart from shiro hsnfhs i just cannot picture kenji with anyone else and i genuinely doubt that people ship him with anyone else.
random headcanon:
i love the idea of him learning how to cook for shirou... we saw some of it in the show but just the idea of him looking up recipes and experimenting with certain ingredients and making a meal for shirou to come home to is so heartwarming! they love each other so much :’)
unpopular opinion:
hmmm i’ve seen a couple of people say he’s a bit annoying in the first few episodes and i’m here to say: absolutely NOT kenji was adorable from episode one.
song i associate with them:
it seems to be a recurring theme that i don’t think about songs and characters lmfaooo but i can improvise again! i will follow you into the dark by death cab for cutie. that’s very much something that fits with kenji in my eyes, especially the lines “if heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied / and illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs / if there's no one beside you when your soul embarks / then i'll follow you into the dark” just... that hits when it comes to shiro and kenji!

20. What story that you have written makes you the happiest to re-read?
Path of the Star-gazer. Someone told me it's like a soliquoy and while I am not sure I agree it is so much fun to just read aloud. I edited it by adjusting and tweaking most of the phrasing to match how I would deliver the lines. Turning points in NHS's life weaved into a fun to say dramatic burst of lines.
Really try it. Here are some short snippets that are fun to say.
One: A life changing realization that seeps into NHS.
My sect is one of stars chasing glory and honor only for each strike of our saber to send us tumbling closer to the ground.
No.
No, my sect is one of falling stars where life is a prayer that one hangs so high in the sky that the ground will never come.
How had I never realized that all our elders are young, that all our leaders fell in battle long before other cultivators chose to let their hairs turn gray.
Perhaps my shixiong, like I, never thought to ask. Perhaps without catching those whispers, I would have never understood the nature of our sect's path.
That not only are my father and ancestors falling stars, but that they are willing.
Two: A poetic set up for the Sunshot Campaign.
Qishan Wen calls itself the sun but they forget the sun is just a star. This earth may revolve around it, but not other heavenly spheres. A constellation may not cast as much light on this world but together the sky glows. The sun is just a lone star.
Three: An extended metaphor turned into an angry promise.
My sect is of stars falling. But I am not a star, I am a stargazer. For the one who stole my brother out of the heavens, I will wait for their peak and tear them from the sky. More than rip them from the heavens, I will ensure that their crater makes the Yiling Patriarch's impact into a footprint. That honor, dignity, and prowess can never be mentioned in the same sentence as their name except in ridicule.
This was actually really hard to not just quote the majority of the fic because it is just really enjoyable to monologue in an unembarrassed, childhood play way. I can't help to mouth aloud.

(1/2) Speaking of wlw, have you heard of Pommanatur (ผมม้าหน้าเต่อ)? It’s available on Youtube. I didn’t watch beyond the first segment of episode 1 because it’s unsubbed and I don’t speak Thai. For the little I saw, it looks like the gl counterpart of high school bl dramas such as Love Sick and the like. The acting looks very... unseasoned. Then again, the actors seem very young, and if it has to be compared to its bl equivalent, high school bl dramas do not exactly feature the most shining...
(2/2) ... example of solid acting, especially the earliest ones. I don't know if there are other gl dramas around. I found this one entirely by chance. I'd also love to find stories that involve characters older than high-schoolers or college/university students. I think there are a couple of wlw storylines in the Club Friday series, but they are not subbed, and are not usually interested in treating wlw relationship respectfully or truthfully. Sorry for rambling
omg i’ve never heard of it but i just checked out the first episode it definitely has that kind of love sick vibe! also it literally has chaleeda gilbert who played arisa in the stranded????? it’s such a shame it’s not subbed but i might skip through just to see what it’s like! yeah the acting is average from first impressions but i agree that a lot of the earlier shows are like that so it doesn’t really bother me! i always check mdl for any kind of wlw dramas but there isn’t much choice and i know some of them have tragic endings like one of them dying so those don’t really interest me but i hope we’ll start to see some more wlw dramas soon! also please i love the rambling so don’t apologise!! and thank u for sharing that drama with me because i’ve never heard of it before
