Title: Give Me The Keys
Rating: G
Paring: Danny Reagan/Linda Reagan
___________________
Linda knows this week has been tough for Danny. He won't- or maybe he can't- tell her about his case. She respects and understands that, she really does. He's come home every day for the last two weeks past midnight. As soon as his arm wraps around her and his head hits the pillow, he's asleep. He looks like he hasn't gotten any sleep when he wakes up the next morning.
It's nine on a Saturday, he's finally home, and she knows what she has to do. He's napping in their bedroom, and she needs to be extremely quiet while gathering all she needs. She steps into the bedroom, sits on her side. "You awake, babe?"
"Barely," Danny answers, turning to her.
"I need to run a few errands. Try to sleep while I'm gone, yeah?"
He nods, "mmkay."
She smiles and presses a kiss to his forehead. "I should be back soon."
*********
"Come on," Linda says while Danny sits at the table, eating cold chicken for a late breakfast.
"What?"
"Come on!" She yanks his arm, encouraging him to stand up and follow her.
He follows her out to the car, "Where are we going? Do we need anything? What about the chicken I didn't get to eat?"
"We have all we need, let's just go." She climbs into the driver's seat, and he into the passenger seat.
"Linda, what are you doing?" He wants to know, buckling his seatbelt.
"Kidnapping you." She answers immediately and matter of factly.
"Babe."
"I'm taking you out of the house, against your will. And I've forced you into this car, against your will. And I'm going to drive, with you buckled in this car, against your will. Pretty sure that constitutes as kidnapping, Detective."
He plays along, "when you're done, I'll probably have to throw the book at you. Kidnapping a police detective and all."
"You should definitely arrest me, make sure I've learned my lesson."
He matches her suggestive smile before asking again, "where are we going?"
*********
"What is this place?" Danny wonders as he rides the elevator with Linda to one of the top floors.
"You'll soon find out," Linda answers, grabbing his hand as the elevator doors open. She leads him to a white door, and he's shocked to see she had a key.
"How on earth do you have a key?"
"Would you just stop being a detective for one minute and just trust your wife?"
He sighs but keeps his mouth shut... until the door opens and he sees linoleum floors, big windows, mirrors reaching to the ceiling, and a picnic basket and blanket set up in the middle of the floor.
"What the hell is this?"
"You remember my friend Elliot, right?"
"Yeah, the fashion designer."
"This is his studio. He's in Paris for the summer, and he gave me the key to use this space when and however I want... with whoever I want. It's not exactly out of the city, and I can't exactly take a hotel on the waterfront, but it's away from the house."
He looks around the room, then back at her, "you did this all for me?"
"No, Danny, I did it all for Tom Selleck," she says evenly. Then, "of course I did it for you! You needed a break after the last two weeks, and what better way than a secluded picnic? We have Mexican street corn salad, grilled chicken wraps, watermelon and strawberries, brownies for dessert, and wine."
"This- Linda, I don't know what to say."
"Ask your wife to join you in a picnic lunch," she says softly, holding out her hand for him to take.
He does so and leads her to sit on the soft picnic blanket. After blessing the food, he asks her, "how long have you had this planned?"
"Truthfully? Seventy two hours." Linda takes a bite of her wrap, "I knew I wanted to do something to get you to relax and forget life for a while. I thought of a bath, but it's a hundred ten, and even I'm not that crazy."
He laughs at her tone and eye roll.
"So I came up with this. I texted Elliot just in case, and he said 'have at it'. So here we are, having at it," she spreads her arms- her wrap still in her hand- and shrugs.
"You're amazing, Linda. I love you so much."
She smiles and blushes, amazed at how easily he can make her flustered. It's like they're in high school again, sweating they're just really good friends. "You've done so much for me, especially those first two years after the accident. I can't possibly thank you or repay you enough for all you've done. And I know this picnic isn't even close to all I want to say and do to you and for you, but it's a start, y'know? And if it takes me the rest of my life to finally show you how incredibly lucky and thankful I am that you chose me to spend the rest of your life with... well, I won't mind so much. Because I love doing this for you, and I love seeing you happy. I love you."
Linda's speech tugs at his heart. "You don't have to repay me, baby. That's not why I did it-"
"I know, and I'm not at all suggesting that. No way. I just- don't know how to thank you properly for everything you do for me."
He grabs her hand and holds it tightly, "by being my wife, and being you. Patient, compassionate, kind, funny, sexy. You can repay and thank me by doing exactly what you've been doing."
"I've just been loving you-"
"Exactly. I don't need big gestures, babe. Just you, and your big blue eyes and toothy grin."
She smiles widely at his sweet words.
"That's the one. I love you, Linda. So much. I can't even possibly begin to tell you or show you how much you mean to me."
"Then I guess we're in the same feelings are too much boat, huh?"
He laughs and leans over to give her a kiss. "Thank you for this. It means a lot to me."
"I love you, Danny."
"I love you more."
"I love you most."
He smiles- he really does have the best wife, doesn’t he?

Ask and ye shall receive
Little streamer au
The day Tommy does finally get sick, he hides it well for a little while. He knows Wilbur will get overly worried so he's the last person he wants finding out.
For a few days he succeeds, saying that his weird stream schedule is because of online classes or something.
One day though when Wilbur and Tommy had a vlog planned, Tommy doesn't show up. Worried, he calls Tommy but gets no answer. He calls his mom and gets a sentence he'll never forget.
"Sorry dear, he's not doing to well right now. Hasn't got out of bed all day. Didn't he tell you he was sick?"
And you can hear in her voice that she's distressed, concerned, and sounds very tired likely from taking care of Tommy all night.
He rushes to Tommy's home and begs them to let him see Tommy.
He's surprised when his mother and father ask for Wilbur to take Tommy home with him. When he asks why they tell him that they're worried about getting themselves sick and since it's a sickness for tinies, Wilbur can't catch it and is far more capable of taking care of Tommy.

Care
Little streamer au
—————————
Notes: ZEETLE YES!! I’m only changing a little bit bc in the au Tommy’s parents are humans who adopted him but he will still end up with Wilbur :]
————————
Wilbur held Tommy close to his chest the whole ride back to his apartment. Every minuscule shiver from the boy made his heart stop.
Tommy had never felt so small to him before.
Even in the beginning when he was so afraid of accidentally dropping or squishing the tiny his loud demeanour made him feel larger than life.
Carefully, Wilbur picked up his fingers from above the teen and stared at his sleeping form. Every exhale took too much effort for Wilbur’s comfort, and his whole body shook.
“Fuck Tommy,” he sighed.
As a loud voice boomed over the train’s speaker announcing the next stop he quickly covered the boy, hoping he wouldnt wake up. However, only seconds later he felt the tiny shift in his hands.
As carefully as he could Wilbur lifted the tiny to his face, “Sorry for waking you up. Howre you feeling?”
His eyes studied Tommy’s dazed look with barely hidden fear. The boy looked so tired even though according to his mother he’d already slept for over half the day.
“Feel like shit, what did you expect,” Tommy groaned as he squished his face against the bottom of Wilbur’s thumb. His skin felt cold and clammy in a way that made the human’s heart shrink.
He hadn’t even expected to take Tommy back with him.
About three days before, he’d caught the teen trying to hide that he was sick, so he’d gotten a train over to Tommy’s house as soon as he could. He’d brought some snacks and a new blanket for him, but he really just intended for that to be it.
He certainly wasn’t expecting Tommy’s mother to ask him to take him back to his own apartment.
“We have my sister coming here next week,” shed sighed, “Shes been planning to come for months now but it’s not safe for her with Tommy sick.”
“Shes a tiny?” Wilbur hummed.
The older woman nodded, “If you could, would you take him. There’s not much we can do but wait it out, but I think he’d feel better to be with his friends.”
That’s how Wilbur ended up with the sick teen snuggled up in his hands as he took him home.
“Just try to rest Tommy,” Wilbur sighed, “I’m sorry it’s so loud in here.”
With almost no pause Tommy’s head lulled back against his hand as he fell back asleep. Wilbur couldn’t push down the dread that clawed up his throat at how fragile he seemed.
As soon as the train slowed to a halt he jetted out to his apartment. His hands cupped around his tiny friend protectively the whole time. He shivered a bit against the frigid air, but all his mind could focus on was if Tommy was cold too.
His hands wrapped around the boy a bit tighter.
As soon as he go to his apartment he turned up the heat and laid Tommy down against the softest pillow he had. The teen groaned a bit, but his eyes didn’t open to Wilbur’s dismay. Half of him was still hoping this was a joke, and that any second Tommy would burst out into laughter about how gullible he was.
“Hey,” he whispered as he gently shook the pillow, “I’m going to make you some soup okay?”
After a few seconds one of Tommy’s eyes blinked open lazily. All he got was a short thumbs up from the tiny before he was asleep again.
With nervous hands Wilbur readied soup for the boy. The faster his hands worked the more he could try to avoid the poisonous thoughts threatening to get into his mind.
There was nothing he could do to help him
Wilbur let out a shaky breath, slowly stirring the soup in the pot. The thick comforting smell of the chicken broth filled his kitchen.
Tinies who get sick don’t make it
Quietly he dug through his cabinets until he found the small set of tiny utensils he had. He dug out a bowl and a spoon barely the size of his finger nail.
He was going to die
Wilbur felt his heartbeat stutter as he brought the small soup bowl back to his couch where the tiny was resting. From afar Tommy looked so helpless. His small body was curled up into a fetal position as his hands tried to grab onto the pillow below him.
“Hey Toms,” Wilbur kneeled down, “Here eat this. It’ll help.”
The boy’s eyes blinked open before he tiredly reached out for the bowl. His hand shook as he tried to bring a spoonful to his mouth.
“Thank you,” he whispered before he was sent into another coughing fit.
Wilbur’s teeth dug into his lip to stop himself from crying. However, the pain was only a slight distraction from the tiny.
As soon as he finished the bowl Wilbur scooped it up and threw it onto his counter. He could clean it later, but he didn’t want to spend any longer away from his friend. Slowly, trying not to wake the boy, he moved to lay down beside Tommy. Yet as soon as his head touched the pillow the tiny snuggled closer to him.
His small body pressed up against his nose searching for the warmth of the human. From so close he could feel how every laboured breath shook his best friends body. Tommy’s hands were freezing to the touch.
“Night Tom,” Wilbur sighed as the boy’s lungs racked with coughs again, “I’ve got you.”
Later that night once he was sure the tiny was asleep Wilbur let his tears falls.
“I love you,” he whispered over and over, barely louder than a breath, as he hoped to any god there was that Tommy would make it out okay.

That was my Main AU! Like it ended up being that all five clans thought Ashfur was such a great and helpful listener, and such a wonderful tom. In my AVOS AU fucking Onestar confides into him first, and Ashfur STILL hasn't broken the habit of napping with his eyes open (he's actually gotten really great at it, he blinks and everything!) And somehow he wakes up to Bramblestar nodding proudly at him? And Squirrelflight is beaming? Sandstorm saying that their mother, Brindleface is proud of him for getting Onestar and Windclan to join the battle field.... he has no idea but okay. This has happened before. At least it's not winter and surprise kits. Cats still think he's the father of Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, and Jayfeather. He admits, looking at Crowfeather, they...sort of look alike. His claws dig into the ground as the Windclan tom snaps at Breezepelt, and Ashfur stands up to go talk to Jayfeather--Jayfeather had been his apprentice, Before he'd decided to become a medicine cat. If there's one cat Ashfur will always listen to, It's Jayfeather.
(Ashfur personally asks Firestar and Brambleclaw for Jaykit as an apprentice, in my AU. Brightheart gets Lionpaw. Later, Ashfur will get Sparkpaw and then her son, Flamepaw. Yeah, dude's long lived.(it's actually an accident--during the great battle Ashfur was badly wounded protecting dieing Ferncloud and knocked out Squirrelflight and 0was still fighting hard when Ferncloud called him over to say goodbye. During this, Fern gave Ash all of her unused life force-accidentally. So Ashfur is still a 'young in body, at least, cat.' When he realizes this in my AU, he's horrified.)
Jay and Ash have a great mentor/apprentice relationship that never quite goes away--it develops into a father-son relationship. Brambleclaw grew close to Holly and Lion in my AU, but never Jay (because of his coloring, but for Jay it was his eyes.) Ash was the one who played with Jaykit, treating him no different from any kit. After the truth comes out it takes a bit for their relationship to heal. But yeah. The whole AU revolves around Ashfur and his 'listening ability.' It's gotten him into so much shit. Dovepaw: "Ashfur was in my dream too, Starclan told us both!"
Ashfur: *has not actually paid attention to what the meeting was about.* "Yeah, they sure did. We should really do something."
Jayfeather: *sighs.*
Ivypaw: *looks at Jayfeather.* "That's your dad?"
Jayfeather: "That's the one I recognize as my dad."
ASKRRTSRETJRL I LOVE THIS!
ASHFUR IS THE REAL FOURTH WITH THE POWER OF SOLVING PROBLEMS BY NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO THEM.
Ashfur *wakes up*
Clan: OMG I can't believe you brought world peace!
Ashfur: ???!!!

GROUNDED
PAIRING —
william miller x black reader
SUMMARY —
You and Will have been through too much for you to abandon him at his darkest hour.
WARNINGS —
angst, fluff
Tumblr media
"Baby, I'm sorry." Your voice was quiet as you rubbed the back of William's hand. His skin is rough and scarred against the pad of your thumb — a symbol of the hardships he's endured both during his service and after.
You'd stuck by his side all those years ago when he was in the brigade commandeered by Tom "Redfly" Davis. They were close — damn, you were all close. You were practically Tess's aunt, showing up at every birthday party and barbecue before Tom's divorce made way.
The years you've been with Will gave you clarity — into his struggle with PTSD and the emotional impact serving as a Special Force Operative had on him. He even taught you a thing or two, defense-wise, before he was caught in a situation in your local Publix — his arm wrapped around another man's throat because he hadn't moved his cart. That lead you to jump on his back and wrangle him back to reality.
He's a soldier in every sense of the word.
He'd gotten better after that incident — attending therapy sessions and doing more public speaking at military bases. It was better to keep his mind off of the terror and trauma from his years of fighting in a war.
He was doing better. And then Santiago just had to come along and convince him to join him for one last ride. Of course, you couldn't do much but support him — that's all he ever asked for. Your love and support. And you were hesitant to give it to him.
But, you did.
And he left for two weeks and returned with a bullet wound — another scar added to his shelf of souvenirs — and a dead captain.
The first night he came back was spent on the beachfront of your home, unable to hide the tears any longer. That night, he slept with his head over your heart, almost as if to make sure it was still beating.
You gave him his space for three days — to get his bearings and a handle on life.
You weren't surprised when he gathered you up one day and drove you to your spot. It was where you had your first date however many years ago — he'd paid for the meal and was a proper gentleman. Of course, you just had to give him your number and hope for the best. Immediately, you knew he was drawn back.
He'd just finished his first tour and the trauma was as strong as it was present — you didn't expect to get a call back after he dropped you home. You were at work when he did, though.
From then on, you and Will had been connected in a way no one really understood. But, it wasn't for them to understand. It's like a well-kept secret between two lovers.
Will's eyes are trained on your dainty fingers as you trace jagged waves along his tainted skin. Your touch could calm a storm, he always tells you. His back presses against the wall of the restaurant, a tattooed arm resting atop the back of his seat, and his other arm stretched across the cold metal table towards you.
Your fingers run up the inside of his wrist and trails the ink in his skin. It's his Force tattoo, faded against his fair skin from years of wearing it as a badge of honor. This isn't his only tattoo.
Just on his other arm is a tribute to a fallen soldier from his first tour. They were the closest friends each other had before Benny decided to join the army as well. It was by a miracle that he was put into the same regiment as his brother.
It didn't seem like much of a miracle when William's friend was blown to pieces on the field.
William lazily tips the neck of his beer bottle to his mouth as he shifts his gaze to the crease between your eyebrows — one that only appears when you're concentrated.
You're so taken with his marred skin littered with healed wounds that you jump slightly when he lifts his hand to take a hold of your own, removing your fingers from his forearm.
He raises your connected fingers and presses it to his lips. Your lips form a pout when you see the tears gathering in his eyes. As he draws your hand away, his gaze transfers to the bare ring finger on your left hand.
"I love you." He proclaims, as he rubs your ring metacarpal, "And I want to thank you for being patient with me. I know..." He sighs as he tries to find the right words to say. Finally, "I know it hasn't been easy being with someone so broken."
You want to stop him. You want to tell him that relationships aren't always easy. You want to tell him that he's not broken, just in pain. You want to tell him that you love him too. So much that it hurts.
But you don't. You wait for him to express his feelings. As long as you have to.
"You've been there for me, Y/N — even when no one else has. You've been helping me for so long that I feel..." He can't continue, instead choosing to look down at your connected hands.
Your finger rubs against his as you realize this, "It's okay, Will. You know you can talk to me."
Your words give him that gentle push — "I feel like I'm keeping you from your life, Y/N. You've had to deal with my trauma and I've been ignoring you and your feelings. I don't want to do that to you, baby. Not anymore. I wanna take care of you instead of it being the other way around."
Y/C/E meet blue as you lean back in interest. Your boyfriend couldn't be more wrong about how he thinks you feel. He's held you back from nothing — when you asked him to move to a new neighborhood, he packed up your bags and boxes and loaded the moving truck; when you asked him to stick by you when you went back to school, he helped you study and ace all off your exams to receive your degree; when you asked him to be there for you, he was. And you know he always will be.
With this in mind, you slide out of your side of the booth, your hand still intertwined with his. He watches you, carefully as you step off the platform on your side before stepping up on his. His legs are stretched along the seat, prompting you to plop yourself right down on his lap. His beautiful blue eyes stare up at you.
Tumblr media
Instinctively, he plants his beer on the table and snakes his arms around your waist, keeping you in place. You can feel the bulge of his crotch on the right side of your thigh but restrain yourself — now isn't the time.
"You see that?" Your right hand presses against his chest while your left hand finds its place on his strong arm, right above his military tattoo. You refer to his instinct to hold you. "That is you taking care of me. That is you loving me more than I deserve. Baby," You search his eyes, his pupils dilating as he's overtaken with love, "You're my life. Don't think you've been ignoring me, Will. We just had to reduce that pain you've been living with. Because I'm not happy if you're not happy."
Reaching an arm around, you take his hand into yours and pulls it from your waist. His hand falls limp as he watches you draw him towards you. You rest the palm of his hand on your chest, right above your beating heart.
At the feeling of the organ beating against your chest, Will is brought back to earth. You keep him grounded and that's all he could ever ask of you.
"This is yours, Will. You own it. We've been through too much for you not to."
As you watch the thoughts swirl behind his expressive eyes, you're confused when he pulls his hand away from you. He reaches into his jeans pocket and emerges with a clasped fist. Hovering over the table palm down, he opens his hand and brings your attention to the rose gold ring — a significant contrast from the wooden surface it rests on.
Your breath catches in your throat and your heart is pounding against your ribcage.
He looks at it for a moment before tilting his head towards you, "Marry me."
"Will..."
"It’s been a long time coming, Y/N. We've been together for eight years — which I'm sure is seven years longer than what you wanted.”
He loves you, ardently, and now he finds the strength he was searching desperately for just the other day. "I love you, Y/N Y/L/N. With every fragmented piece of me that you've managed to put back together. And I'm forever grateful that you came into my life when I least expected you, but most needed you."
Now it's your turn for your heart to melt — you're growing weak at his words, eyes filling slowly with tears.
His eyes remain on you as you crane your neck to ogle the engagement band on the table. The center is oval shaped and sparkling under the dim lighting of the restaurant. It's beautiful, perfect even — more than you could've asked for.
He is more than you could've asked for.
"I'm done with this shit, babe." Will says as he sees an indecipherable look in your eye. Overthinking leads him to believe that you have doubts about his minimalistic proposal, "I'm completely retired. It's just us — no Pope, no Fish, no Benny, no —" He stops himself before he can say the name.
It's too soon.
The silence between you two is deafening as you're frozen in your spot.
All you can seem to release is his name — it's the only word on your tongue. The only sound you could muster.
He brushes a kinky curl from your forehead and stares up at you, awaiting an answer. Everything in you tells you to speak. To do something — anything.
It's only when Will's grip loosens around your waist that you're snapped back into reality. You'd only dreamed for this moment and now that it's here, your brain seemed to be malfunctioning. Instead of opening your mouth, you reach forward and with your index finger and thumb, you lift the beautiful ring from the table.
"Yes." The word is so quiet that you didn't even realize you said it. Speak up. "Yes, I'll marry you, Will. Christ, you didn't even have to ask."
This has to be the first time he's smiled since he came home. It's bright and amazing and nostalgic. White teeth wink at you as he wastes no time taking the ring from your fingers and sliding it on your digit, his eyes seeming to reflect the sparkle of the engagement band.
The kiss you two share is nothing grandiose. Your kisses rarely are — but they still hold a level of sensuality and passion that many can just wish for. Will runs his tongue along your bottom lip before capturing it in his warm beer-flavored mouth. You don't mind — he has good taste in alcohol.
For a moment, you two forget that you're in a public space. One where patrons are making their exit, but public nonetheless. You pull away when you feel the tears gather in your eyes. You love this man with your heart, mind, and soul — every part of you is overwhelmed with a wave of fervent endearment.
"Damn, I love you." Will exhales as he draws you into a homely embrace.

You walk past the girl who greeted you as the guests begin to gather together near the central pillar. You speak with the man who was leaning against a couch.
"Evening, there. Name's Tom Angor." He reaches out, and you shake his hand, "Say, you seem familiar to me... have we met before? ...ah, Nevermind that."
You chuckle and pull away, asking how he knows Xephos.
"Xeph and me go way back. All you gotta know is that I'd trust the man with my life." he smiles, but it's a smile that doesn't feel friendly. His eyes are quite piercing.
"Good to know..." you reply.
Shortly after, the man with glasses approaches you to introduce himself.
"Hello, there! I don't believe we've met? Doctor Jones, at your service." He takes your hand in both of his and give it one firm shake. "You're interested in our relationship to Xephos, yeah?"
You nod in response before he continues, "He was a close...client, of sorts. I saved his life, back in the day."
"I see." you smile back at him, noting Tom slip away early. He must've been eager to split from the quickly thinning crowd, or already had plans to do so. Guess talking to him first was just a lucky choice.
"Have you met my friend Zylus, here?" Lalna asks, gently swinging in the tall military man by his elbow.
"I don't believe so."
"Well, hello there. I am Zylus van Laanen, military health inspector." He ignores your extended hand with a bow, "Our host, Xephos, is an old war buddy of mine. That's all there is to say."
"Interesting to note."
He walks away.
"Don't worry." Lalna reassures, "He may be curt but he's quite friendly. Mind if I ask you something?"
You perk your brow in response.
"Are you familiar with Tom, and his line of work?"
"...I am not."
"I see." he shrugs, "It's nothing special. Just curious, really."
He smiles before walking away.
Tumblr media
You decide to talk to Xephos.
"Evening, Mr. Strife. It has been some time, hasn't it?" He keeps his hands firmly behind his back. You don't offer your hand to him.
"I understand."
"So what brings you here? You said that you don't know who invited you...?"
"That's true. Here's my invitation." You take the mail from your breast pocket and hand it over.
"...The Investor."
"I'm not sure who that is, Xephos. I was hoping you might. Back in college-"
"Don't... I know. I already know." he sighed and walked out of the Library tower, facing the ground, "I'd give anything to put all that mess behind me."
"Okay... I get it." you nod, folding your arms and pursing your lips.
"So," he turns heel to face you again, "you haven't a clue as to why you're here, then...besides this note, correct?"
"...That's right..." You crease your brow slightly, wondering what indeed this party must be for.
"Well, I've gathered everyone I believed I could trust, here. If we make it till tomorrow, then I'll tell you why."
"Everyone you could trust...?"
He nods.
"Then someone here must've betrayed you, right? Why else would I have gotten this letter?"
"I already have my theories." he grabs your shoulder, "I need you to stay focused tonight, Will. Keep track of what you can. If you can prove yourself trustworthy after all these years...then I'll tell you more of what you need to know. I understand you might be frustrated with my hesitance, but please... just reconsider my position under all this?"
"No, no...I get it."
"Thank you. You're already off to a good start." he turns, "Feel free to explore. Dinner begins at midnight."
You thank him, and he's off. Just inside the library, you notice a rather large ornate grandfather clock parallel to the doorway.
It looks like you have four hours till midnight.
Where should you explore first?

A Mermaids Tale
Tom Holland AU
Tumblr media
Words: 1.6K
⚠️Warnings⚠️ None
A/N: Sorry if this story is kinda bad so far, I'm not really use to writing in 1st person pov I've always done 3rd person pov but I hope you enjoy it either way!
(Part 1) (Part 2)
《Masterlist》
Tumblr media
"Serenity!! Where are you now? You know I'm going to find you eventually."
I sighed apparently hiding continuously from Tom never ends up working in my favor because he always manages to find me no matter where I hide. No matter how dark of a cave  I find or the time I literally buried myself in the sand he still manages to find me.
Don't get me wrong or anything, Tom's a nice guy and all but already having to be stuck down here for a month and half with someone I hardly knew kinda sucks but then again I was also betrayed by Sam who claimed he loved me and I was also beginning to get homesick.
"Ah I found you!" Tom exclaimed, popping his face into my line of vision. I really thought I had him this time hiding in the smallest space I could find in this cave.
"You know if you're trying to hide, you should really make sure to hide your tail next time too." I slightly rolled my eyes but couldn't stop the small smile that was forming on my face, and looked at my tail that I have yet become accustomed to.
Since I've been down here I've gotten to know Tom a little bit and his very kind and care free attitude. How he's like a ball of sunshine hidden in the depths of the water, or how he's always so optimistic with everything. He's really tried his best to get me accustomed to my tail by teaching me how to swim with it but I apparently look like a squirt trying to swim for the first time which apparently what they call babies down here.
I could see myself becoming very good friends with him, he hasn't really pushed the issuse of what happened to me or how I got here and I know its bothering him. Because every time he asks about it or when it seems like he's about to bring it up I completely change the topic or I will avoid his question. He's a nice guy and all but right now after everything thats happened I think it's best to keep him at arms length until I know for sure I won't be hurt or betrayed again.
He pokes at my tail  "It honestly doesn't make any sense on why your tail is gold, because there are normally only three colors for our tails! So why is yours so different," He exasperated.
I remember when Tom explained to me that there are only the three tail colors, and they each have different meanings and or different jobs.
-
"I still don't understand why your tail is gold, it's really starting to baffle me."
"Well you're the only fish person I've seen since I've been here so is it really not that common?" I asked.
Tom huffed and rolled his eyes at me "First off its MERFOLK not fish person. And it is actually really rare down here that its literally the only one I've ever seen, down here there are only 3 colors of tails which generally  puts you into one of the 3 categories. 1st being a green tail which is the most common tail. When you have a green tail it means that these people are your every day normal people such as people who own the stores teachers or just stay at home parents. A person with a Blue tail like mine means that they are a healer and a baby blue means that they are a scientist these tails really aren't that common and only several people have this color. Now the most rare color is an orange tail it means that they are warriors such as guards or soldiers," He explained while making all these weird hand gestures. " We are all normally born with a purple tail signifying that we are still children, but once we turn 16 our tails will change into one of the three colors.
"Wait you said three colors but listed four you said two different blues so wouldn't there technically be four color categories instead of three?" I asked.
"No, not really we tend to just lump both blues together since they are just slight different shades."
"So you than you are a healer?" I said poking his tail.
"Yes! I normally work with children since they are normally the more fun patients," he smiles and stares off into the distant.
"Huh, well I didn't know that."
"Well Serenity that's because you refuse to leave this cave that you decided to make as a make shift home for the past 2 weeks, which by the way you really should come into town one of these days. Carrying all this food out this far is getting a little tiring," he glanced to the side and smirked at me.
I playful shoved him away from me, which in turn made him laugh like crazy. "Come on I'm serious! You should come into town with me. I have a free room with a bed in it by the way, and I'm sure my roommate won't mind you taking the spare room for awhile."
I tilted my head side ways "You guys have beds down here?"
He looked at me bewildered "Yes, why do you guys sleep on the floor like a sea urchin?"
I raised one eyebrow and looked at him "A what?"
He smacked his forehead really hard "A sea urchin," he said slowly "You know it's like a pokey ball looking thing they lay on the sea floor but are also found in the hold of rocks."
"I've never seen one before in my life, but no we don't sleep on the floor we have beds too. That's why I was surprised when you said you own a bed," I was trying to avoid eye contact with him and just chose to stare at my tail.
He sighed "You ready are something else Serenity. But seriously you should come back with me to my place."
I bit my lip an old habit I have when I'm feeling nervous "Are you sure I can come? Won't my tail attract a lot of attention with everyone since it's never been seen before?"
He ponder for a moment "Hmmm I never thought about that, maybe we can sneak you in at night,  everyone is in bed to begin with anyways-"
"Wait why is everyone in bed?" I interrupted him.
"Well we have a curfew," He stated.
"Oh? Why"
He side glances me for a few minutes before he finally decides to respond "I honestly don't remember why."
You don't really respond to Tom you can He is hiding something from you but you can't blame him since you refuse to up up to him most of the time so instead you just give him a nod and sit in silence for a few more minutes. "Okay I'll go with you into town," you sighed
Tom throws his fist in the air as some weird sign of victory "YES!"
-
"Okay, remember you said you would be coming with me back to my place tonight so we will have to wait for sun down until we can swim into town."
"What about Sharks though? Won't they attack us and try to eat us?" I asked looking away from him.
Tom began to laugh hard, it was one of those hearty laughs the kind where he was doubled over holding his stomach with tears streaming down his face. "That's the funniest think I've ever heard you say."
I glared at him not really appreciating him not taking me seriously "I'm serious! I've heard stories about them before and they are very dangerous."
He continued to laugh for 5 more minutes without being able to look at me because every time he did he would just start laughing again so I just glared at him until he was finally calm enough to respond to me. "Sharks are literally the nicest creatures we have, most of them are to shy to even come close to us and land walkers, there are only maybe a few species who would attack us and even than they don't live anywhere near us."
I sighed in relief "Okay, I guess I'll believe you then and by the way we are called humans."
He grinned at me "Don't worry everything will be fine I promise we can get in without people seeing you, and even if we need help I know a guard who could help us out plus I know for a fact that my roommate wouldn't care he more than likely would want to look at your tail because he's a Scientist so it will definitely peak his interest once he's sees it."
I nervously chewed on my lower lip not liking the sound of that at all 'what if he puts me in a cage to study me, or starts to poke and prod at me with things that might kill me, OR what if he decides not to let me stay and forces me to leave what would I do than. I mean I guess I could come back to this cave, but what if he throws me out during the day?! Then I'll definitely be screwed!'
"Stop it Serenity, you're thinking too much about it," he chuckles lightly "I promise it will be okay."
I stare straight into his eyes to see if he's being dishonest, can I trust him? I've only known him for a little over a month but can I really trust him. I knew Sam for almost 6 years and when it came down to it he decided to save himself instead of protecting like he said he would, with a seconds thought. But looking at Tom sitting next to me with a dopey smile on his face I just have this feeling deep down that he's being genuine, but I still have to keep my guard up around him just in case but maybe just taking a little bit of the wall down would be okay.
"Okay, I trust you."

It's been a couple of hours since we've gotten to work. I couldn't find Spencer anywhere. I needed to tell him that there was a lead on Lindsey due to Simmons giving Ethan a cognitive interview. I had called him a handful of times and gotten no answer.  Which is weird but with everything that's happened he has every right to have some alone time. I was still trying to call him when I found him in Morgan's old office. I don't know why I checked the cafeteria and the break room first. I felt myself facepalm as I looked around the room.
He was in a daze and hadn't even noticed my presence until I moved myself into the floor across from him. I leaned against the desk for support as I looked up at him. He glanced at me and then looked away. The hand he was using to prop his head up seemed to tense.
'You smell like mint and your cologne.' I said it with a small amount of amusement.  I knew he would change. It didn't bother me if anything. I'm surprised he even went to work with the smell of my essence laced into his skin and his breath. He nodded to acknowledge what I had said.
'Love? Is everything alright?' He looked at me then and held my gaze. 'I know I said I'd talk to Ethan too but I can't seem to bring myself to. Seeing him for longer than a couple of hours has me remembering things with him so intensely.'
A soft comforting smile formed on my face as I gently grabbed the hand that rested on his knee and squeezed. 'There's a lead on Lindsey.  I was going to leave with the rest of the team to go check it out. If you wanna stay here I can tell Em. Maybe you can get something more from Ethan. Then Matt did. ' I kissed his forehead gently.
Just like that. I left him to his own devices letting him figure everything out for himself.  I was gonna need to tell Em he wasn't coming.
-------------
I walked into the interrogation room with Ethan and undid his handcuffs immediately.  I didn't like seeing him like an unsub. So until further evidence came about I wasn't going to treat him as such.
'You look like you've seen a ghost Reid.  What's wrong?' I looked at him as I stood against the wall. 'Did- did you?- ' I found myself stuttering and searching for words. My hands moved about as if I were trying to grasp each word that flew around my mind until it formed a sentence. How do you speak to someone that you haven't spoken to in years? Not in depth anyway.
'You're a big hot shot Mr. FBI. Married, professor most likely with a couple books published or at least articles and yet you are still just the same man I adored back then.' He spoke with care and love in his voice as he watched my face blanch at what he said.
If it wasn't for the fact he has seen me this way before I would have been far more embarrassed then I was. My mouth was still opening and closing and my hands had finally stopped. 'Did you? Was it you? I- was it you that hurt me? With the blade?'
I had finally managed to collect my words and form a complete sentence even if it was laced with fear and sorrow. I was terrified he'd say yes. I was even more petrified if he said no. If he hadn't done it then I'd have nothing to hold against him.
There was no way I could remain upset about something that happened in college and it wouldn't make me seem like an upset child. I hadn't bothered to meet Ethan's eyes. I was honestly too afraid of what he'd see residing in my own.
I didn't hear him move and I didn't notice how close he got until he spoke. Making me jump and look out of the two way glass. This was a bad idea. I need to get out of here. I feel like the room is shrinking.
Ethan cupped my face and forced me to look at him. The fact that this was being recorded made me even more nervous. What if the rest of the team found out what happened between us.
I finally met his gaze. I knew my eyes probably reminded him of the first time he ever hurt me. This time had nothing to do with the kiss I walked in on years ago.
'Spencer.' As he spoke his thumb traced my jaw. 'I would never. I could never hurt you.' I laughed bitterly and flinched when his thumb met the side of my lips. 'This was a mistake. I - I need some fresh air'. I quickly rushed out, locking the door behind me.
I blew out a breath I didn't realize I was holding within my lungs as I felt my breathing start to quicken. I made my way to the roof of the building that no one really used. I slid down the door as I made it fully outside.
I watched as the sun began to set. The sky turned different colors until emerging me in full darkness besides for the buildings lights I closed my eyes. Why do I feel like a young adult all over again? Why am I letting him get under my skin? The worst part was that he isn't even trying to make me feel like this.
One minute I was on the rooftop the next I was in the band room of our college laying on the ground with my head resting on Ethan's jacket as he played the piano.
'I could fall asleep to the sound of you playing. You know.' I said as each key played from his fingertips. His cologne was all over me because we may or may not have been making out on the floor before I scolded him that he needed to practice. He had a big concert event coming up.
'I could think of better things to do in here than you falling asleep.' His voice was teasing, making me blush.  It had only been a few weeks since our first actual time together and in all honesty it made me nervous just thinking about it. Ethan seemed to want to sleep together constantly.  Which is fine. I loved having sex with him but sex was never something I thought I'd experience so I'd much rather be reading or learning something new.
Just the other day we got into an argument because I turned him down.
I was sitting in a lecture with the man that created the Behavioral Analysis Unit. The BAU for short. At the time, I didn't want to get laid. I wanted to learn more about how learning to understand a serial killer could help catch them. I was deeply intrigued and asked many questions as the lecture hall went on.
'You know you did ditch me for some cop I don't see why now would be a bad time to make up for it?
'A federal Agent is hardly a cop and if you can't remember his job at least remember his name. Jason Gideon.'
Ethan scoffed in small annoyance as he continued to play. Only this time the sound of the piano sounded like chase music. I felt like it should play in Tom and Jerry.
'You can't seriously be upset with me about that?' I said trying to sound calm and collected in reality I was upset. I originally went to college to learn all the things needed to be someone that taught others. I had been debating on changing my career path for sometime now and I think I finally found it.
'I think I wanna try to join the BAU. Gideon already told me with how interested I was in the lecture and with how smart I am. I'd make a great addition to the team.'
He smashed his fingers on the piano and groaned. 'Reid we already planned our future together. Do you really wanna give that up to join the FBI?' The way he looked at me was as if I had broken his heart. It's not that I had forgotten our plans after college. The only problem was that I used to be able to see that future and now I couldn't.
Since the class with Gideon and all the research I've done. Working for the FBI just made sense. It would cover everything for my mother's doctor's and Care facility. Plus being able to keep a great roof over my head and food in my belly. I suppose to Ethan not living life on the edge was boring.
I shook my head to escape the memory.  Out of all the ones to have right now, why did that one resurface? My head fell in my hands as I combed my hair out of my face. My phone went off with a text from Y/n.
'Hey, so we found her abandoned hideout but it looks like she hasn't been here in a bit. I don't know if you've gone to see him or not but I figured you could maybe get more info? If you're feeling up to it of course. Otherwise he made a bond with Matt. He can try again when we get back.'
I sighed. I wasn't in the mood to see him again. I thought I could separate my feelings towards him from this case and I know I'm not doing it. Perhaps I should step back from this case. I should talk to Emily. I know I'd still have to deal with Cat ever so often but otherwise she was my wife's problem now. I slipped my phone back in my pocket and closed my eyes. Everything just seemed like too much right now.
'Seriously we are not doing this right now Ethan?' I was putting back on my clothes.  Situating my hair as well. 'You are not going to make me late. I refuse to miss seeing my mother again because you can't not want to sleep with me when we are alone.'
I walked around him as I grabbed my bag to take with me to go see my mom. It held some overnight clothes. I had missed the last time they were going to allow me to stay. All because I gave in to Ethan's advances to make him happy. I loved him and when we weren't bickering things were fabulous. After a year of it though it's exhausting.
He caught me by my hips and pulled me to him. I swatted his hands away. He may not have wanted anything from me but a proper goodbye but I didn't want to give him the chance. I had already prepared myself mentally for the arguing that was gonna come from me turning him down. Me leaving him alone for long periods of time made me nervous.
He'd never done anything to make me anxious about leaving him. He'd only go to bars and play and have a couple of drinks with other musicians.  I had accompanied him plenty of times. Nothing ever happened besides musicians talking about anything and everything underneath the shitty neon lights of the bar.
'Tell your mom I said hi and that I hope she's doing well. Also tell her I'm sorry I kept you away last time. I don't know what came over me. ' He cupped my face and went to kiss me but I turned my head slightly.  Again. I'm not taking any chances. I'd happily lose anyone or anything as long as I still had my mom.  He ended up kissing my cheek.
A sigh escaped him as he let me go. 'I'll see you when you get back. Yeah?' I nodded and smiled at him as I headed toward the door.
'Wait, Reid. I'll be going out tonight to play. I'll message you when I arrive and when I leave. I know how you worry. Tell me when you make it to your mom's.  I love you. ' I smiled as I ran off to see my mom.
A groan escaped me. Why? I'm so sick of these memories coming up. I looked around the roof and let out another sigh. I really need to let what happens next go. Yet before I could stop my brain it quickly wraps me and surrounds me in the memory and as it unfolds like a movie before my very eyes. I kept my vision from blurring from the unleashed tears.
Time with my mom had gone by well from when I got there until now.  She started having a violent episode one that if I had stayed would have ended in her calling me crash again.  I'd never tell her she'd hit me. I just wanted comfort. So I came home early. Well to a place Ethan and I were renting together. I hadn't told him I was on my way home.  So when I came home to an empty place I wasn't surprised. I quickly dropped off my things and ran to where I figured he'd be.  The bar with his friends. It was rare anyone would be there right now actually drinking; they should just be setting their instruments.
Only when I came in I found Ethan behind stage with a girl's tongue shoved down his throat. There clothes slightly askew He pushed her away when he realized I was there. 'Spencer this isn't what It looks like!'
I just stood there frozen. I couldn't form a word, I could barely comprehend what I saw.  When he stepped towards me. I turned away and just walked away. I felt like my heart had just been stomped into the ground after being clawed at unintentionally by my mother. I was broken.
That night I got multiple calls and texts from Ethan. I ignored them all. I ended up sleeping on a campus bench. Comfy truly.
I never fully spoke to Ethan after that day.  Things with my mom got chaotic and I didn't have the time to focus on anything but getting my PhD and taking care of my mom. As long as I was busy I couldn't blame myself that I was too afraid to face Ethan.  He broke my heart and I didn't even give him the opportunity to even try to explain himself.
That was ages ago though so why am I still thinking about it. Why won't my brain just shut up. I need to get back Inside. Maybe the team is back by now.
------------
Having to find Spencer recently was starting to become a habit. I looked everywhere for him everywhere besides outside. I finally found him walking in from the stairway that led to the roof.
'Hey.' I gave him a small wave and what I hoped was a reassuring smile. This case was getting to him for obvious reasons. He honestly hasn't looked this distraught since after he came back from prison.
His eyes widened slightly. 'Good you're all back already then?' I nodded. My eyes didn't want to leave him. I knew something had happened. I just didn't know what. Pushing him was never something I had done and I wasn't gonna start now. Maybe I'll just bring it up a little to see if he decides to tell me. If not then it can wait until he sorts out his mind.
'So we didn't find Lindsey.  We did find a couple of things though. Photos of you in Mexico. Photos of you even in the prison yard. Among others of max and you and us together.  Lindsey appears to be stalking us. Maybe it was something Cat asked her to do.  Or maybe Ethan was the one taking some of the photos.' I looked away and was staring at my hands as my brain started putting small pieces together. Theories really.
Spencer grabbed my hand gently and brought it up so I'd follow it with my eyes. 'I am actually debating on taking a step back from this case. I was gonna tell Emily and see what she thought.' The smile he gave me didn't reach his eyes.
'Let's be honest it's probably for the best that I do. I know too much and I am far too involved, especially with Cat and Ethan both being a part of this. It's just more than I think I can handle. I could be wrong. Maybe I just need a day to breathe. I'll have to figure that out though.'
He placed my hand on his face and all I could do was rub my thumb across his jaw. I let out a small laugh suddenly. Which surprised him. 'I'm sorry it's not funny! I just kept thinking that If I pushed hard enough on your jawline would it cut me?' It was a terrible time for me to not be able to keep things to myself.  He needed me serious, right?
A laugh bellowed out of him and I could see some of the stress and pain he was carrying with him lift a little. I myself smiled too when he pulled me into his chest. 'Oh how I love you and your random thoughts.' He moved his hand to cup my cheek and leaned in as if he were gonna kiss me.
One of our arrangements when we started dating was no PDA in the workplace if any, keep it always at a minimum. With what he was doing it was making me question if he was about to break that small rule. Not that I minded if he did or not though.
He stroked my cheek and smiled at me as he pecked the tip of my nose and walked away.
I couldn't help but scrunch up my nose the way a bunny would. It tickled. A smile formed on my face as I watched him leave.

[ january 05, 2016 . . . ]
Y/N WAS WAITING FOR TOM TO PICK HER UP FROM HER HOUSE. Tom had suddenly texted her to wait for him as he was going to pick her up. Of course, she agreed to him and told him not to be late.
Another week has passed since their real relationship started. They've celebrated Christmas and New Year together in each other's houses during the week. And also with their closest friends which were Erika and Harrison.
They finally opened up about their relationship with each other which made Erika and Harrison open up about theirs's too. Although it was already obvious for Tom and Y/N, they still wanted to hear from them.
When Y/N was lost in her thoughts, Tom's car suddenly arrived which surprised her.
"Tom!" She called out.
Tom happily got out of his car and walked towards Y/N.
"Where the hell are we going? It's like nine in the morning." Y/N complained which made Tom laugh a bit.
"Good morning to you, love." Tom greeted and gave a peck on her cheek.
She rolled her eyes playfully at him before answering back. "Morning, Thomas." She wrapped her arms around him and snuggled.
Tom's arm snaked around her shoulders as they walked towards his car.
"Seriously, where are we going?" Y/N asked Tom as she placed on her seatbelt.
"My house. My mom wanted to bake with you all of a sudden. She also wanted to make lunch for us." Tom said which made her eyes widen.
"How come you didn't tell me it was that? I could've prepared." She said.
"It's okay. I think my mom just prepared already." Tom said and started the engine and drove off.
Y/N sighed in relief and sat comfortably on the seat. She grabbed Tom's free hand and wrapped her fingers to his. Tom plastered a smile on his face while driving going to his house.
It has been a week since he got the news and he still hasn't told Y/N about it. He only told his family and Harrison first during the morning. He just didn't know how to tell Y/N about this.
This is why he planned to tell her today. And hopefully, he would tell her.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
"Y/N!"
Y/N heard that familiar voice that called her and it was Tom's mom.
"Nikki!" Y/N called back as she gave her a big hug.
Tom closed the door in his car and went beside his girlfriend.
"I missed you already, dear," Nikki said to Y/N which made her giggle and Tom rolled his eyes.
"Mum, you just saw her a few days ago," Tom said and his mom just ignores her son's response.
"You know, it's very hard to deal when all my children are boys," Nikki said that made Y/N laugh, and Tom groan. "But, I've gotten used to it eventually," Nikki added.
They continued to talk as they walked inside Tom's house. Y/N basically helped his mom prepare lunch while the boys just played video games.
From time to time, their mom would scold them and ask them to help in preparing or else they would have to do the chores themselves for a whole month.
Nikki would tell Y/N stories about Tom and his childhood and about photography too which inspired Y/N to want to try to go into the field of photography.
"Lunch is served!" Y/N exclaimed that alerted the boys and they ran towards the dining room.
"No running, boys!" Nikki scolded them and just sighed at her sons. "Until now, they still act like little kids," Nikki whispered to Y/N loud enough for them to hear.
All of them gathered together and ate lunch. Tom sat down beside Y/N. Before that, he and his youngest brother, Paddy, argued on who will sit beside her. But of course, Tom won since he would always say that Y/N is his girlfriend.
"How's your father doing, Y/N?" Tom's father, Dom, asked her across the table as they were eating.
"Same as always. He's just staying home right now since it is still the holidays." Y/N answered.
"Tom," Nikki called out her son who looked at her. "Did you...?" She trailed off since she wasn't sure and Tom already knew what she meant. He shook he said as a 'no' and Y/N noticed their conversation. They continued to talk silently that Y/N couldn't really understand what was going on until Ton spoke up.
"Y/N, there is something I need to tell you," Tom said and Y/N just looked at him, waiting for him to say what he wanted to tell her.
"You know that I act, right?" He asked her and she nodded. He has mentioned before to her that he actually acted since he was a kid.
"Well." He paused for a while and looked at his brothers and father who was encouraging him to tell her.
"I auditioned for this role a few months ago before we met and..." He took out the paper that he received a few weeks ago and gave it to Y/N.
Y/N took it opened to read it. As she read through the lines, her eyes suddenly widen.
"You're..." She paused, trying to sink in what she just read. She looked at him and suddenly wrapped her arms around him.
"You're the new Spider-Man!" She exclaimed while hugging him. Tom didn't expect this kind of reaction but he was glad it was. He hugged her back and kissed her head.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Y/N asked him and pouted.
Damn it. She's so cute. Tom thought in his head before answering her.
"I didn't how to tell you this, honestly. I have to make a decision, Y/N." Tom told her.
He grabbed her hand and suddenly stood up and pulled her with him. He wanted to tell her this privately so he excused himself first and went upstairs with Y/N.
"Does this mean that you're leaving?" Y/N suddenly asked as soon as they went to Tom's room. He looked at her with sad eyes and nodded.
"Come on. Don't be sad, Tom." Y/N said and caressed his cheek. "This has been your dream since you were little," Y/N said.
"But I don't want to leave you, Y/N," Tom said and held her hand that was on his cheek. She just gave him a small smile before saying something.
"I'll be happier when I get to see you on the big screen, Tom," Y/N said which made Tom's chest feel lighter. "I'm so proud of you. You deserve it so much." She pressed her lips to his and Tom responded to it.
"Let's go somewhere," Tom said and held her hand once more.
"But, what about your family?" Y/N asked.
"They'll understand, don't worry," Tom said and led Y/N down.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
"Is this another mysterious place again?" Y/N asked as Tom was covering her eyes. She could feel her feet being covered by something soft and sandy since Tom told her to take off her shoes.
"You'll love it," Tom said. After a few more walks. Tom asked her if she was ready and she nodded. He took his hands off her eyes and smiled.
"Woah," Y/N said as soon as her eyes were uncovered.
They were on a beach where there were fewer people. The sky was so clear that it reflects in the waters of the ocean. The sound of the waves satisfies her ears. Her feet were covered in sand.
"This is where I go when I feel stressed out or just want to relax alone," Tom said and stood beside her.
"You really discover so many beautiful places," Y/N said and wrapped her arms around him while looking at the waves.
Tom spun her around to face him while her arms are still wrapped around him. She gave him a questionable look first.
"I will never forget this beautiful face," Tom said that made Y/N blush.
"You really know how to make me blush," Y/N said and smiled. "And I will never ever forget this handsome face of yours." She said that and pinched his cheek with her other hand. "I still can't believe my boyfriend is the new Spider-Man."
"Me either. I'm so happy about it." Tom said and smiled widely. "I still can't believe that I have to be away from you for God knows how many years."
"I don't mind waiting for you, Tom," Y/N said. "As long as our love never fades, I'll wait for you."
"Man, I am so lucky," Tom said and sighed then smiled. "I have the best family then I just got the role that I've been dreaming to act." He looked at you. "And I have you."
Y/N felt herself blush again and slapped Tom playfully.
"Ow! What was that for?" He asked her and she giggled.
"For always making me blush." She answered and placed her head on his chest.
"I will go to you every day before I leave," Tom said. "I want to cherish these days with you."
Y/N continued to look at the scenery and smiled.
"Me too, Tom. Me too." Y/N said.
"You know what." Tom let go of her to properly face her. "Go here when you miss me the most. Go to this place when you won't be by yourself." Tom told her. He got something from his pocket and revealed it to her.
It was a bracelet with white marbles on it. In the center, there was a sun symbol that was surrounded by white marbles.
"Wear this to remember me." He added and placed the bracelet on her wrist.
She looked at the bracelet and smiled. She felt tears going to fall from her eyes and looked at him. She leaned herself to him and he hugged her.
"I'll always go here, Tom," Y/N whispered, softly.
They stayed there together with Tom's arms around her. He just wished that this could last forever.

Happiness Is a Virtue That You Deserve
Yo! So I may have written another Irondad fic, it's a bit shorter than the last one but I hope you enjoy!! 🥰
AO3 link:
_______________________________________________
Tony had been hauled up in his lab all day, working on an update for his suit while he had the kid over. Technically it was one of their lab days but he told the boy to go to the common room and enjoy his day while he worked on schematics and "whatever genius stuff he did".
Peter's words, not his.
He felt slightly bad for having the kid not in the lab with him, but he also knew that he could distract Peter with how he was stumped with his own work when the kid needed to do his homework, it was very important as him and May stressed that everyday, even though they knew Peter was way ahead of them.
So he was deep in thought when he heard a shout loud enough to hear down in his lab, he was startled out of his thought process and almost dropped the tool he was holding when working on a suit.
He looked to the ceiling in confusion.
"FRI honey, mind telling me who just yelled?"
"It appears to be Mr. Parker, Boss."
His eyes widened slightly, FRIDAY hasn't alerted him that there were any problems in the tower. Nobody appeared to try and explode his lab in, and there was no news of aliens appearing on the streets of New York, so why was Peter screaming?
Panic slowly wrapped it's claws around his heart, to which he put down his tool and sat up. His Tower was one of the safest places there could be in the state, but maybe someone tried to hack FRIDAY?
"Mind telling me why he's screaming?" He raised a brow slightly, trying to mask his slight fear even to his AI, although she could probably already tell from how his heart went just a little quicker than normal.
"He seems to be playing a videogame." His dutiful creation responded.
That seemed to explain the shout, although it was pretty loud to appear all the way to his lab, that kid sure had lungs.
Even if the assurance of Peter just playing a game calmed his fear, he would be at ease when he checked on the kid himself.
Tony got up from where he was sitting and made way out of the lab. Fast walking to the elevator, he didn't need to say a word as the door shut and made it's way to where Peter already was, his AI knew him too well.
When the doors opened, he could already hear the loud voice of a one Peter Parker. He was still shouting (luckily quieter), but he seemed to be laughing a little as he talked.
When Tony left the elevator, he made a beeline for Peter, seeing the kid sitting on one of the couches with his eyes on the TV, controller in hand as he used the Xbox Tony had gotten him about a couple weeks ago.
"Hey kid, where's the fire?"
Peter didn't seem the least bit startled as he paused his game and looked over to Tony.
"Oh hey Mr. Stark! I'm just playing some minecraft with Ned." He pointed to the headset over his head, a grin plastered on his face as his brown doe eyes held pure amusement.
Tony could feel his shoulders relax a little as took a once-over on the spider-kid before him that was fortunately unharmed, he smirked a little.
"Oh yeah? What happened that made you shout so loud that Thor could probably hear you from Asgard?"
He could practically feel the smirk on his face turning into a grin as Peter's cheeks turned a little red, but the happiness in his eyes luckily didn't dim.
"Oh sorry, I got a little too distracted, Ned and I were fighting and he accidentally hit my wolf, it's alright now though! I had to make her sit down so she wouldn't attack Ned." The boy babbled on.
Tony's eyes softened a little at that, even in a game Peter didn't want anyone getting hurt. His heart warmed as he made his way over to the couch to sit next to the kid.
"It's alright, I kinda needed a distraction anyways. You mind showing me the game anyway? You told me something about just getting it and wanting to play." He remembered when he showed the Xbox to Peter when explaining that he already had it before (he got it for him specifically, but Tony would never admit that) the kid's eyes practically lit up like the fourth of july. He said that he had a videogame he wanted to show his mentor and that he wanted to play it with him if the man had time. Which he always did when it came to his kid.
"Oh yeah! We're kinda just building a big death star right now since we already built the lego version, we've done it before but we need to perfect it!" The kid looked back to his game and resumed it, showing off the partly made death star, Tony could see that everything was made out of blocks, and a character was crouching a lot in front of where Peter's character was looking.
"That's Ned right there, he can hear us by the way. He says hi."
"Hey Ted." He responded to said kid. He could hear a voice through the kid's headset, who was probably fan-boying over Tony Stark himself watching two teenagers play a game.
Peter smiled wider at his response, his gaze focusing back on the TV in front of him. He gathered some blocks from a chest and placed them with Ned.
Tony leaned back in his seat as he watched the boy play happily, it was definitely a good choice to get that Xbox, the kid was so happy from what he could see.
Peter was too engrossed in his game that he couldn't see the fond look his mentor unknowingly gave him, but he could hear the elevator from across the room open up, showing Pepper Potts stepping out, fresh from a meeting.
She walked in the room to see the two geniuses focused on a game, correction: one genius. Her beloved fiancé was watching the kid play, probably thinking of other things he could get for Peter so he could smile forever. He was such a dad.
"Hi Ms. Potts!" Peter greeted as he still looked at the game. Tony looked up to see the redhead herself, his small smile growing bigger as she kissed his forehead. "Hey Pep."
"Hi Peter, Tony." She looked at the boy and then the inventor. By the look on her face, he was probably due for a lecture soon, oh no.
"What did I do now, oh sweet future wife of mine?"
"Well let's see; for one, you didn't attend the meeting you said you would, so instead I had to go, and you still haven't responded to those business dealers about what they wanted to buy." She looked at him expectantly, just daring him to say anything to combat her scolding.
"Well as you can see, I'm busy with Pete here. He's playing his game, what's it called? Craftmine?"
"It's Minecraft and you know it, Mr. Stark!" Peter butt in.
"Don't use him to distract me, Tony."
The inventor sighed good-naturedly. He had been putting off things for a while, focusing on what really called his attention. Like Peter of course. He had bought the tower back so he could keep a closer eye on the spider-kid, but he wouldn't admit that of course.
"I'll get to it soon, I have to influence what he builds, otherwise he might leave me for some other corporation, have to keep them interested you know."
Pepper rolled her eyes and made her way past the couch to probably go change. She still had things to do today, but it seemed Tony just wanted to wait a little bit more to be productive.
"Oh yeah I was thinking, kid, how do you feel about a PS4?"
"What?"
"Tony!"

Losing Innocence -- Chapter 5
Pairing: Mob!Tom x Reader
Summary: It was astounding how much you didn't know about your best friend, and how much her past could affect your future.
Warning: Language
A/N: oh my god, Idk why this chapter was so hard for me to write, but I had to rewrite it like five times. So I'm sorry for the wait. I'm also sorry if this chapter is a bit confusing.
-------
Tom took a sip of his drink, feeling the whiskey burn down his throat. It was late, 12pm to be exact, and Tom was stressed. So, he did the only thing he usually did when he was stressed.
He went to one of the many strip clubs he owned, drank, and picked up some willing stripper for the night.
Tom placed the glass down with a loud clunk as he continued to watch the strippers dance.
Harrison, who sat across from Tom, cleared his throat, catching his attention. "I know this is how you usually handle these kind of situations, but don't you think you should be focusing on finding Belle's father right now?"
"What do you think I've been doing all day, mate?" He scoffed. "I swear I'm losing my mind over this. I just needed a break."
Harrison rolled his eyes, "Fine. What did you find out then?" He asked taking a sip from his own drink.
"That William Taylor's been busy." Harrison raised and eyebrow, waiting for Tom to continue. "His numbers have tripled in the last five years and he's making more money than he ever has."
"Why haven't we heard about this. A mob like Taylor's gaining all this power doesn't seem like something we'd miss."
"Yeah, I was confused about that too, so I read into the files a bit more. Found out all they did was clean up their act." Tom said clearly frustrated.
"Really? They've always been sloppy though."
"I know, but they've gotten better at covering their traces and getting rid of anyone that stood in their way." Tom said as a certain blonde caught his eye in the dim lights of the club.
Haz sighed. "Well that's fuckin' great. What're you gonna do with Belle now?" He asked the question he had been wondering about all day.
"I'm gonna kill William Taylor and Belle can do whatever the fuck she wants to after." Tom said looking back at Harrison.
Harrison scoffed, "Kill him? That could take months- years even. Especially now that we have no way of tracing them."
"I'll figure something out." Tom muttered. "It'll be hard though. We don't know where they are but now that Belle is gone they sure as hell can figure out where she is."
"Well, that's bloody fantastic. But why kill him, you could just set Belle up in another city."
"And you saw how great that turned out." He said sarcastically. "Killing him will be the easiest way. Alex Jacobs is dead, he basically ran the mob more than Taylor does. So by killing Taylor the entire mob will fall apart and Belle can live the normal life she's always wanted."
"I suppose that makes sense. His men aren't very smart. With Jacobs already dead and when we kill Taylor the rest of his men will probably find themselves in jail within 24 hours." Harrison said while Tom finished his drink.
The young blonde woman that worked in the club approached their table. "Can I get you another drink, Mr.Holland?" She said, smiling flirtily at him.
Tom smirked, "Yes, thank you darling."
The woman giggled at the nickname, taking his glass and leaving the table.
Harrison rolled his eyes as Tom's eyes trailed after her. "Y'know it wouldn't be a bad idea if you finally decided to settle down."
Tom snapped his attention back to his friend. "I don't need to settle down."
Haz scoffed, "What? Are you just going to continue sleeping with strippers the rest of your life? You're 26 Tom, plus maybe if you found someone you wouldn't be so bitter."
Tom narrowed his eyes at Harrison. "I don't need to find anyone, and I'm not bitter."
"Oh please. Ever since your family-"
"I dare you to finish that fucking sentence." Tom spit out venomously.
Harrison cleared his throat, "Fine... Then what about Belle?"
"What about her?"
"You seem to care a lot about her and she's a nice girl."
"Belle is nothing more than a friend that I owe. Now drop the subject." He said sternly.
Harrison sighed, taking a sip from his glass. "Alright, I'll drop it... How's her friend , (Y/N), I think?"
"Quiet. Thankfully she hasn't left her room all day and I've been having the maids check on her. She isn't eating though."
The waitress had come back with Tom's drink. Another flirty smile on her pink lips. "There you go Mr. Holland." She said placing the drink in front of him. "Anything else I can do for you?"
Tom smirked again, "Maybe there is. What time does your shift end, darling?"
The blonde woman's cheeks lit up, "It ends at one. Would you like to escort me out?"
"Yes I would, sweetheart."
The woman giggled again. "Alright, I'll see you then." The woman walked away.
Tom turned his attention back to Harrison again. Haz shook his head at Tom before returning to the conversation, "If the girl isn't eating, it could become a problem in the future."
Tom took a drink of whiskey, "Whatever, It's her fucking funeral."
Haz furrowed his eyebrows, "You really couldn't care less if she dropped dead."
"Honestly, I couldn't. She's a liability... plus she cries too much."
Harrison scoffed, "Of course she's crying. She's a normal girl, I think she should be allowed to be upset."
"And that's my point. She's a normal girl, so she doesn't know how this business works and that could get us killed if she somehow finds a way to contact anyone outside of the mansion."
"You know showing a little hospitality never hurt, maybe she'll calm down and you won't have to worry about her screwing us over. Plus if Belle likes her, I'm sure you could learn to get along with her."
Tom raised the glass to his lips again, "It's not my job to learn to get along with people." He took a sip, "If I don't like someone I have them killed."
Harrison rolled his eyes, "Whatever, I'm getting out if here. I figure you're gonna wait up for that girl."
"Yeah, you can leave, see if you can find any more of Taylor's contacts.'
Harrison nodded before leaving Tom by himself.
It was a bad habit, coming to a strip club almost every night to get shitfaced and get laid. He knew that. Harrison knew that. Hell, even his men knew that. But the momentary relief he got from his job made it feel worth it.
He hated his job but he'd never leave. No, at this point it was apart of him. He killed, he tortured, he threatened lives all for money, and there was no way out now. He was a criminal.
Your words the previous night struck a cord within him. You had called them all criminals. Tom knew it was true but when you're in this business others don't go around calling themselves criminals.
He was a monster and any relief he could get, he would take.
So now as the clock struck 1, he stood up out of his seat to find the blonde he didn't even know the name of, so he could keep forgetting.
Spotting the blonde, he walked up behind her and spoke in her ear, "Hello, love."
The woman turned around, smiling seductively, and leaned into him "Hello, I just finished up, ready to go?"
"Of course, darling."
~
The car ride back to his mansion was filled with heavy breaths and soft moans. The driver all to familiar with this scene was thankful that there was a privacy barrier separating him from the sinful things his boss did in the back.
Making it back to the mansion, Tom stumbled in tipsy, with the blonde woman kissing his neck. The front door slammed shut and he locked it.
Tom's eyes closed for a second, until the woman stopped. He opened his eyes to see her looking down a hallway.
"Is someone else here?" She asked.
He looked down the same hallway, seeing a light coming from... his office. There were light shuffling sounds putting Tom on edge. His hand instantly went to his gun
"Darling, go upstairs, turn left, my bedroom is at the last one at the end of the hallway."
The blonde nodded before going upstairs.
Tom pulled his gun out and quietly walked down the hallway. Many things were running through his head, if it was Taylor's men he'd be utterly screwed. Tom cocked the gun approaching the large mahogany doors.
He pushed the door open and raised his gun.
