This sent me down a rabbit hole of stuff that I've written
But okay, I'll say that these are a few of my favorites:
The Sun & The Star, the Stucky AU where the Winter Soldier was given skinny!Steve as a pet and now they're very much unhinged and in love.
Her Eyes 'verse, the Teen Wolf zombie apocalypse AU from a literal decade ago where Greenberg dies and Finstock is sad about it. Because I hate reading MCD & angst, but I'm pretty good at writing it when the mood strikes.
The Girl & The Demon, original 'verse where a girl befriends demon and ends up with the power of hellfire. Also because ominous and angsty, but also because girls with superpowers (and/or a blade) and a vendetta to settle is my lifelong hyperfixation.
Welcome to Stark Industries, technically a Gen Marvel AU where Steve is the newest employee at a rather unique work place. Because sometimes I’m good at comedy, too.
Don’t ask me about a fifth one, it was hard enough coming up with these four :x

I love all your fics, but currently The Devil's in the Details holds my heart. Though I am still fascinated by I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good), because that is such a unique fic and I love it so so so so much
Ahhh thank you! They're both almost a year old (or one of them is a year old) but I love them too. They're both plot heavy which isn't a strength of mine but I love my plots and my twists and their outfits and whatever is wrong with both of those Obi-Wans because they're really into an Anakin who they should probably be leaving alone (a demon and a married man, respectively). Not that the Anakins aren't making some weird choices themselves, but who among us wouldn't give up a life of torturing people for a chance to make out with Obi-Wan?

Welcome to Recs Friday!
We believe that starting off the weekend with a good obikin fic is the right way to unwind after a long working week, relaxing with our favourite boys.
And, of course, to give some love to beautifully crafted obikin fics!
As always, since this is a topwan/bottomani centric blog, most nsfw recs will be of this nature. We will give recs of all ratings, AUs, canon divergence, wips and much more!

Currently watching: NCIS. Its on Netflix and its something interesting enough that I dont want to immediately turn it off but not something I am invested in enough that I cant get up to do household chores. Or feel like I constantly need to rewind because I missed something when I got distracted with a formatting issue for the fic I am typesetting.
Currently reading: Oh boy, so many things. I just finished book about the history of printing and typesetting. I am in the middle of some tales from the Arabian Nights, as well as a book about fashion history. And I am about to start a book about Judaism for the month of Elul. Also I have a book making reference book on hand as I start attempting to make my first fanbinding. Also the library just emailed me that my hold is in, so I will be starting the second book in the Tales of the Otori series.
Current obsession: The Making of Books. In a historical context, looking at the development to modern day, from the perspective of fanbinding, and just looking at the really pretty ways people can make books. Like everything to do with the process of turning a story or essay into a book that a person can open and read with their hands. My brain has not stopped thinking about this shit for weeks.

My Notes: I’m completely unfamiliar with anything about the bond universe or the movies, or whatever. I just know that I really liked this fic because secret agent Derek is just awesome, and Stiles as the brains behind the operations is doubly so.

matcha: if you had the opportunity to meet one person from history, who would you choose and why?
There’s a lot of people I’d love to meet. Among them would probably be King Kamehameha I and Queen Lili’uokalani. The beginning and the end of the Hawaiian monarchy.
espresso: imagine that you could obtain any superpower that you wanted. What would you choose?
My initial response would be invisibility, just because of my anxiety. But I also wouldn’t be opposed to an elemental power like fire.

Happy Fanfic Writer’s Appreciation Day!
In honor of Fanfiction Writer’s Appreciation Day (which is apparently August 21st), I wanted to share some fics and authors who have made an impact on me this year. TBH, I haven’t read a lot of fic this year because 2018 has been completely wild, but I wanted to highlight the ones that I did!

An absolutely beautiful alternate canon fic where Steve saves Bucky without knowing who he is. It’s literally so good that once I stopped crying after the ending, I immediately started reading it again.
in cayenne and honey, in vinegar and lime by Nonymous with art by @albymangroves
This fic is a game changer. Between Nonymous’ witty and heartbreaking story (that includes both Bucky/M’Baku, T’Challa/Nakia, M’Baku/Okoye and Stucky) and Alby’s gorgeous art, you have a fic that just lingers with you for a while. I literally don’t have words to describe how good this fic is. It’s just... perfection.
Civilians, GDI by @relenafanel
Literally my favorite Bucky ever. He’s such a lovable, snarky jerk with a heart of gold in this FBI Agent!Bucky and actor!Steve AU. It’s a perfect pick-me-up fic! (Also, like... I literally reread all of relenafanel’s fics this year. She’s golden and her words are perfect and I wanna be her when I grow up.)
Mine is the Shining Future by @bride-ofquiet
Steve is an Irish immigrant who falls in love with Brooklynite Bucky. There’s something so beautiful, tender, and soft about brideofquiet’s writing in this fic; I’d love to wrap their words around me like a blanket. This fic made me laugh and cry and wanna go to a church dance (which is kind of a feat for a Jew like me).
What We Pretend We Can’t See by @gyzym
I read this behemoth of a Drarry fic on one of my lowest nights ever. It made me feel hopeful when it felt like nothing in my life (or the world at large) was going right. This beautiful story of redemption and second chances had me laughing and sobbing. I love every single word of it (and have subsequently read it like... five times).
Old Man Taako Outruns Death* and Lives Forever** by @anonymousalchemist
I assume that if you’re reading TAZ fic you’ve read this Classic, but this madcap adventure is a riot and also sweet. anonymousalchemist also does a great job of matching the unique tone of the McElroy bros, which is such an incredible feat!

Bucky has a mustache. Like, it’s such an absurd concept that napricot weaves into a lovely, touching, and hilarious story. What I can’t get over is how tender this fic is, how Steve aches for Bucky, and how you feel his anguish... but never without hope or humor. It’s beautiful.
Once Upon Some Bullshit by @machine-dove and @sproings
A perfectly imperfect fairy tale with some truly magnificent mutual pining from Steve and Bucky as Steve is magically turned into a series of animals, most of which have a special affinity for Bucky. I especially love how trusting Steve is of his Buck, even when he’s in his vulnerable animal forms.

A sugary sweet Shrunkyclunks AU where Bucky is a genuis, Steve is Captain America, and both of them are awkward as all hell (as they should be). A perfect read for an airport! (Which is where I first read it.)

An adorable high school AU that is perhaps the best-named fanfic of all time. Tasteslikekeys’ adorable art accompanies an uplifting story where the teenagers win!
Drive It Like You Stole It: A Bodyswap by @aggressivewhenstartled
Everything aggressivewhenstartled writes ends up making me laugh hysterically in public, and this WIP is no exception. Steve and Bucky swap bodies and go on a road trip with Peter. It’s hilarious and charming and every time it updates (or I get any notification that aggressivewhenstartled has written something new) I am filled with joy.
