Yandere Cassian Headcanons (Romantic)
''You are everything I ever wanted and I will protect you with everything in me.'' — Cassian.
❝ ⭐ — lady l: Do I have a soft spot for him? I have. Can you blame me? Probably not. Ah, I hope you like it and forgive me for any mistakes! ❤️
❝tw: obsessive and possessive behavior, mention of murder, jealousy, unhealthy relationships.
❝ ⭐pairing: yandere!cassian x gender neutral!reader.
Tumblr media
Cassian is very passionate and intense, his feelings are overwhelming and he needs to vent them in one way or another. Usually he does it by fighting, but he needs love. He needs you.
You are everything he ever wanted. It doesn't matter if you're his mate or not, Cassian is completely in love with you and he only wants you.
He can't remember ever wanting someone as much as he wants you. Cassian just knew that he loved you, that he needed you in his life and he wouldn't stop until he got it.
Cassian is a lovesick puppy, basically. He will follow you everywhere with passionate eyes, his wings spreading menacingly to anyone who dares to approach you.
He has no qualms about eviscerating alive anyone who dares to look at you the wrong way. You are all that matters and he will never let you be hurt. And anyone foolish enough to try will regret it very quickly.
He will do anything for you. Anything. Just order and it's yours. Do you want an expensive shoe? It's yours. Do you want a Spring Court rare flower? He'll sneak in there and get it for you. Everything, anything, just ask him.
To say he is overprotective is an understatement, Cassian is completely obsessive when it comes to your safety. Anything that shouldn't be there will be cause for concern and murderous rage. Even if it's just a broken nail, if you weren't the one who broke it, you can be sure that someone will die.
Cassian can't help but be so overprotective, he just wants to take care of you. It's his Illyrian instincts screaming at him to rip apart anyone who poses a threat to you. He's your bodyguard, basically.
He is your biggest fan. If you do anything, he will be rooting for you. If he could, he would wear a t-shirt with your face showing how much pride he has for you. He also constantly seeks your attention and approval.
Cassian would love to train you if you want, although he knows it's dangerous, he wants you to be able to protect yourself if he's not around. He would never forgive himself if something happened to you because he didn't want to teach you how to defend yourself.
Like all males, Cassian is very possessive and jealous and this is nothing new. He gets jealous very easily and generally acts petty about it. In the blink of an eye, he'll be at your side, pulling you into his embrace and staring at whoever made him deathly jealous. No one will take you away from him. No one.
He wants you to be happy with him. That's all he asks. He does not deserve? After all the shit he's been through, Cassian feels like he deserves to be happy and he knows he can only be happy with you. You are everything to him.
Cassian can be called a brute and, although he can often act like that, he is a teddy bear to you. He loves to hold you, hide you in his wings and just be by your side. He needs to always be touching you and not always in a sexual way, he just needs to have confirmation that you are real.
His touches are always soft and gentle on you, as if he's scared of breaking you. Cassian would never forgive himself if he ended up hurting you.
Cassian is a big softie for you. He would never hurt you and would always put you above everything and everyone, including his own family. You are everything to him, his life, his motivation and his reason for breathing. He would die and kill for you in a heartbeat. Cassian just wants to be loved and you are everything he loves, so don't abandon him. He wouldn't react well to that.
He would never force you to stay with him, but Cassian wouldn't let you go. He can't lose anyone else and he won't. You are his and you will always be his.

What do you hope will happen in chapter 110? Do you really think Akane is going to die? Or will we see Minamoto or Hanako-kun interfering?I love your posts ❤️
Thank you for love my posts..... 110 ... !!
I don't think so, no....! For one thing, Akane has already had a hole punched through him in his Clockkeeper form, and he survived that just fine, even despite being outside of his boundary, in a DIFFERENT boundary, attacked by creatures owned by the boundary keeper, and then lying in a puddle for however long in the far shore...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
besides, Tsukasa isn't out to murder him, or anything... only find the yorishiro. I don't think the plan is to like, rip him into 1,000 pieces, no more than he did that to Kako... I have no idea what would happen if he went straight for the heart at all! While I suppose we don't know Tsukasa's lawless capabilities what with killing No. 3 so easily, I haven't imagined it would get that grim for Akane. I think Tsukasa is being playful... much to pry apart.
Hmmmm... it feels so chicanery right now honestly... Teru is in a fussy baby mood, he's all butthurt about Akane... Akane is now being targetted... mostly I am thinking about Teru being all like, "oh I'm sorry, I'd help you but apparently I'm a criminal :/ well :/ maybe if SOMEONE hadn't HANDCUFFED ME and taken my strength, I could be out here defending you but I GUESS I'm nothing but a suspect so...." .... I dunno, maybe Teru would want to hear Akane beg for help, or something. Grovel. It is so hard to imagine him wanting to help Akane right now!!! Teru is petty, sensitive, reactive, big baby lol...
Teru also doesn't support the existence of the mysteries at all....
Tumblr media
so I have no idea how invested he is in yorishiro destruction? Why WOULD he care, if some guy is trying to find and unseal their yorishiro? I think Mirai could get popped like a grape and he wouldn't care whatsoever... don't imagine he cares about Kako being punched through. He could stay relatively useless, that would also be funny, especially if it is half by choice...
Akane getting gravely injured WOULD motivate Teru to need to keep the yorishiro from being peeled however, even if he doesn't give a fuck about the system, since being stabbed + turned back to human COULD kill Akane, specifically those events, lol. In this way, we should worry about Akane, wwwww....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While things cannot die in a boundary, the yorishiro destruction ejects you OUT of the boundary, soooooooooo....!
... I'm still not thinking much about it, but those are the facts to mull over.
It is interesting to ever think about Akane being un-mystery'd though.... I've always liked the idea of, down the road, ONLY Aoi being left with kaii-seeing abilities + memories of the far shore... but that's so far off as a thought haha. Just something I like to imagine, if Akane were unseated. Maybe Aoi would have to look after him...
I'm interested in Akane having implied the Clockkeepers are the party most responsible for endangering students... I don't really know how much Akane, WANTS, to fight for, the Clockkeepers, earnestly. He doesn't LIKE them. I do not think he would really lay his life on the line for them... but I also don't know how much freedom he has right now, or how he is functionally controlled or kept in line, by them. He isn't acting like he has agency in this.
I guess it could go either way, for Hanako. He could surprise us by suddenly teaming up with Tsukasa, or, with Teru. Whatever the case, very exciting, right? All thrilling options.
I don't think it will happen... immediately.. but my biggest wish is for Tsukasa to possess Nene-chan, after he locates the yorishiro ♥♥♥ from what we've seen, Tsukasa and Amane share all their abilities, and there must be a REASON we were so FRIVOLOUSLY shown he can possess Nene-chan way back in the CLOCKKEEPER'S ARC... it would be too perfect for that to come back around ♥ and soooo cute if Tsutsu could be in LITTLE Nene-chan specifically, and really wonderful if Amane had to deal with that ... ♥♥♥ though I've also fantasized about Amane simply instructing Nene-chan to peel the yorishiro, despite everything... could be so grim, so dark, so haunting!
I guess most of my thoughts are further along! The immediate situation is pretty hard to conceptualize, I do not have a brain for... like, fights, play-by-play. I'm mostly excited for what's to come later, I'm not really into altercations....!

Now that Yandere Dev is dead in the water and his game is as deep in the sand as he is.. I, a random person on the internet, vote that we as a community take the concept of Yandere Simulator and make it into something better!
Because the concept IS decent, just the execution needs work... A lot of work.
Everyone should have their own ideas for it so Imma say my vague concept that I probably won't ever bring up again.
For my new take on the concept, for one, almost all the main characters are actually going to be adults. It's stated that they already are but that's bullshit that Yandere Dev clearly used to justify some in game bullshit, they're in fucking high school, maybe one could be 18, but not fucking all of them.
Second, I might replace Ayano with some demonic or otherworldly being that's not exactly in love with Taro but heavily obsessive and interested in him, possessive even. Because honestly, while the point of the story IS a Yandere school girl, that topic has been milked to absolute death and is prone to get boring as hell. Plus, it's my idea to rewrite the story, I can take it as far as I damn want!
If Ayano is a demonic being in this, possibly Taro could be in this occult team/club/gang/cult so that way Ayano has REASON to be interested and connected to him.
Taro, in this rewrite, is a complex person. He's a nice guy, lives alone with and takes care of his 13 year old sister after his dad ditched them and he kiiiinnnda murdered his mom for the cult he's in and because he just disliked her. Yeah, Taro ain't no goodie two shoes bland mf now! He may be nice, treats his sister well, and partly believes he's a good person but he's in a cult, is willing to murder people who he thinks deserves it or anyone who threatens to find out about his crimes, and he supports cannibalism, under the right circumstances though. He still comes off as, and kinda is, a nice guy who wants to help people in any way he can, real protective of his friends and whom he dubs as innocent. He's got the mentality of wanting to see half the world burn and half the world blossom, he wants all those he thinks are bad or beyond helping to suffer while he wants the ones he believes are innocent to live happy and healthy lives.
Him and Ayano's dynamic is something I'm still thinking about honestly, as while rewriting the other characters is somehow easy, rewriting Ayano is just a pain for me somehow, it's hard to really rewrite anything about her and I don't know why. I may keep her emotionless thing going on though, not sure.
For Taro's sister, she's a slightly bratty newly teen, is very attached to her brother as he's the only family she has left but isn't overly affectionate with him, if anything, she's the most bratty with him. She doesn't expect too much from him and doesn't believe she can pout or whine to get her way but slightly does so to be petty and because Taro doesn't really react negatively to it... Yet. She has no idea what happened to her mom, just views her as missing, and has no idea Taro is in a cult. To her, she's got a normal life, despite her mom going missing and viewing her dad as the biggest jackass alive.
Taro and Osana's relationship and meeting is pretty different in this, Osana won't be Taro's childhood friend, I'll be giving that to someone else, instead Osana is a girl living in an apartment building, cooped up in her apartment and barely interacting with the outside world. After a stalking and obsessive situation she was the victim of, leading to the death of her cat, she swore she'd never trust the world again. Her apartment is a mess as she has no friends, she cut off her family, and she has no one to even talk to, she could technically be counted as a slob but at least she keeps herself clean. She hates the world and especially has issues with men.
When she meets with Taro for the first time, she wants absolutely nothing to do with him, constantly is mean to him, insults him, ect. Taro would've not dealt with her after their first interaction but learns what a state she's in from the apartment building owner and vows to try to help her and be kind to her. Why? Because he feels bad for her... And because he accidentally ran over a cat so he feels the need to feel better about himself, using the excuse of trying to prove to the world or some higher force that he can still be a good person. So...
I will leave it there! My ramblings went off the rails and this is only a concept that I have no idea I'll even touch on again.

I've seen a bunch of posts criticizing and defending movie Adrien and like I feel like I can't fully agree with either of them.
In the beginning I LOVED movie Adrien. I liked how as Adrien he had much more personality than just "a nice kid" and his interactions cat noir with ladybug during their first fight were amazing. After that, though, it immediately started falling apart.
One of my biggest issues with the movie for both Adrien and Matinette is how fast they fall in love with their respective counterparts. Adrien bothered me a lot more though. They meet once and fight together and he's immediately so in love he needs to sing a (all be honest very cute) song about how much he love her??? It just felt so abrupt and irritating. Especially since it was kinda refreshing to see a cat noir not being obsessed with ladybug for once.
The next few Adrien scenes after this are cute but just fell kinda flat for me since cat noirs song reallt took away the feeling that these two were getting to know eachother and falling in love, since he had already decided ladybug was the one for him seconds after they met.
This all builds up to where movie Adrien is completely ruined for me, the ending. My biggest gripe with show Adrien is that he constantly places drama with ladybug and his love life over litteraly saving people in need. His reason for being a superhero shifts from the goodness of his heart and enjoying the freedom to just being about seeing ladybug and it makes his so much more unlikable.
When Paris is litteraly on fire and ladybug is fighting hawkmoth solo its so infuriating to watch Adrien just mope around cause "he's a sad rejected boy." Whats worse is when he finally realizes he should do his damn job he had the nerve to be a dick to ladybug who's been solo protecting the city while he has his little pity party. I thought he'd get down there and see how bad things were and feel awful that he ignored ladybugs call but no.
I don't need Adrien to be a perfect character. Flaws are what make characters interesting and relatable but in the show and now the movie, they writers seem determined to never have Adrien deal with the consequences of his actions and pettiness. I'm sick of it.

pain&failure 💚💚
pain: What's the worst pain your OC has ever felt? Do they have a high pain tolerance?
I would have to say the Relic attacks are the worst that Valentine has ever had to deal with– sheltered as she's been from physical violence most of her life. I usually write them like 6-8 on the pain scale for the acute part of the attack, so basically like a migraine that makes you vomit and makes it impossible to function more than crawling around (but you can crawl around). Her pain tolerance is pretty average, I'd say– but she's a complete baby about long-term or lingering pain, lots of big sad wet eyes and crying for cyber-morphine, again because nothing that bad has ever physically happened to her.
failure: What's your OC's greatest failure? Have they been able to move past it? Does anyone else know about it?
Man. Lots of candidates for this one. My initial instinct was to say the Konpeki job, because there were just so many red flags for someone who'd taken part in complex operations before, and yet she still went for it. But to be honest I think that she knew it would probably fail, but the idea of gambling it all and probably dying but maybe making it big and never having to panic for money or jobs again... that's why she did it. Her biggest self-admitted failure there was that she survived alone.
She will if asked, blame Abernathy for getting her fired, but that two-year period after she got dumped and when she ended up allying herself with Jenkins... she knew that was a mistake. She let herself fall apart, indulging herself with petty drama when she knew she should have declined to rise to the bait. It was one of the jokes Abernathy and her made to each other, that if you wanted someone to hang all you needed was to give them a rope, and she still fell for the trap of taking her eye off the big picture. She stopped doing her job so well, she lost all sense of joy she had in doing anything that wasn't punching down and being nasty. And in the middle of it, she had convinced herself there was no further down she could go– that she was naturally talented enough to at least keep her position where she was, but there was no need to be such an attentive and hard-working kiss-ass. No point in taking pride in her work. Of course, letting all that go was the reason she came into work vomiting from the stress of all the shit she had gotten herself into and got handed a poisoned shard with all the info she would need to kill the ex that had thrown her out in the cold. That's a real low. It was her biggest failure not to manage Jenkins more effectively as her superior.
Now you and I might think there are some understandable reasons and outside stressors that caused her to burn out and up... but the lesson she took away from all that was that you cannot ever stop playing the game. You should play it even harder, in fact. She will probably never get over it, but she blows off that very dark period of her life with jokes and little hand-wavey "oh what a fool I was lol" routine very easily. Anyone who doesn't know her well would assume she's made her peace with it, but the shame and self-loathing she feels from that follows her constantly and informs most of the dumb-ass decisions she makes about her own self worth and skill.

A Beginners' Guide to KARA
Hey you! Yes, I'm talking to you!
Maybe, for some reason, you or someone you know happened to watch the MAMAs and you happened across a group of gorgeous women. "Who are KARA? Are they new?" you thought to yourself.
Well I am here to tell you exactly who KARA are!
Tumblr media
(Pictured From Left to Right: Nicole, Seungyeon, Gyuri and Sunghee)
KARA debuted in 2007 with Break It, and while nowadays being the "younger and prettier" version of an already established group can, apparently, skyrocket you to global fame, this shit just didn’t work back in the day. So, when Seungyeon, Nicole, Gyuri and Sunghee released an R&B-influenced dance pop song with a bold and independent tone and fashion and styling directly carried over from DSP's, their label, previous success, Fin.K.L., the public tore them apart! For the record, I don’t share SK’s opinion on this, I loved Break It and I think it would have been interesting in they continued down the R&B path, but at the same time the visuals were indeed too dirivative of Fin.K.L., and KARA would go on to leave their own mark in K-pop so this was probably the one time public backlash lead to something good happening!
I only mentioned four members, that's because the rest would debut later, and Sunghee herself is not part of the anniversary celebrations as she quit the group and the industry long ago, immediately after their debut's commercial failure, though I'd like to think she's cheering on her former sisters.
Tumblr media
(Pictured From Left to Right: Hara, Nicole, Gyuri, Jiyoung and Seungyeon)
What happened next is something you don't see that often in K-pop. KARA underwent a 180 degree image change, adopting a cutesy and girl-next-doory look and sound. Hara and Jiyoung joined the group in 2008, and with the release of Rock U, they slowly started building an audience.
In early 2009 they released Honey, which is considered their first hit, and the summer of the same year, they doubled down on that success with their massive hit Mister, establishing themselves as a group with upbeat dance music and fun choreographies.
They didn't settle on cute however, as the release of songs like Lupin and Jumping in 2010 proved that they could still find success with more mature and sophisticated concepts. Another big step they took in 2010, was to re-release music in Japanese, beginning a string of successes in their neighbouring country as well, a country whose music market is the second biggest in the world, might I add.
undefined
youtube
The next year was when the troubles for the group started however as Hara, Seungyeon, Jiyoung and Nicole sued DSP for overworking them, not providing them proper working conditions and underpaying them, requesting their conracts to be immediately terminated. Hara would eventually back out of the lawsuit, but the other three powered through, and eventually reached a settlement with DSP in April of that year as DSP could obviously not afford to lose them. They were making lots of money for them in Korea, but like I said, they were also really popular in Japan, the world's second largest music market. To put things into perspective, they would often release music at the same time as local artists and would outperform them. That's how much Japan loved them. Hara, Jiyoung and Nicole even worked and lived in Japan instead of Korea for years. They released Jet Coaster Love in Japan, which was a massive hit and became their first song to debut on Japan's Oricon charts (Japan's equivalent of Billboard), something no other girl group had ever achieved until that point. They also released STEP at the end of the year, possibly their most well-known track in the West.
undefined
youtube
But not everything was well and cool. The next paragraph has never been directly confirmed by official sources, but if you've been a K-pop fan for a while you know how petty entertainment companies can get, nevertheless, you should probably take the following with a grain of salt. Although they did settle their legal issues with their label, the lawsuit did not sit well with them, as you can imagine, and since it was Nicole's mum who largely encouraged them to fight for their rights, Nicole started getting the short end of many sticks despite being one of the more popular members of the group at the time. Despite being the main dancer, they would often no longer have her in the center during dance breaks. Despite being the main rapper, they would now split her raps and give half a part to Hara and Jiyoung and and half to her. Despite previously doing adlibs in all songs, giving the group a unique and trademark sound, she was no longer given any. In 2012, before releasing another hit, Pandora, they all got to release solo songs, first in Japan and then translated for Korea. While all the other girls got to perform their songs on music shows, her and Hara didn't. For Hara it was understandable because the Korean general public were going on one of their usual witch hunts at the time and she was their target. But Nicole had no conflicitng schedules, because they gave her no solo activities from 2011 to 2014, and her song was among the best reveived ones from their solos. Hell they even gave her a hairstyle that hid 3 / 4 of her face for STEP... I mean...
All of the above lead to her, essentially being forced out of the group in 2014. When her contract expired she wanted to switch labels but remain with the group, as many idols have done after that, and some were even doing that at the time, like Gain having a different label for her solo activities than the rest of Brown Eyed Girls. Jiyoung also left that same year as she needed time to focus on her studies as well as some time to rest as she had been working nonstop with KARA ever since she was fourteen (!) but she also expressed her desire to remain a part of the group. But DSP wouldn't have any of that. And so, they would continue as a trio... Or so the fans thought!
Tumblr media
(Pictured From Left to Right: Gyuri, Seungyeon, Hara and Youngji)
DSP would announced that they'd be adding a new member to the group, one who would be chosen through a competition show, long before shows like Produce 101 were a thing. Fans were furious and they organized protests and boycotts. The extent of the backlash was unreasonable, of course, but at the same time, adding a completely new member so long into a K-pop group's lifespan, on top of cherished members leaving usually doesn't work well. This wasn't the case for KARA however, as Youngji won the hearts of the vast majority of the fans, and even though there are still idiots who refuse to acknowledge her to this day, her addition to the group undoubtably gave the group a breath of fresh air, and a ton of momentum to keep them going for a little longer.
undefined
youtube
That is until 2016, which is when Hara and Seungyeon decided not to renew their contracts and focus on their solo careers instead. Youngji and Gyuri stated at different points in the year that they did not consider their days as KARA over, and that they would release more music if an opportunity presented itself.
Tumblr media
(Pictured From Left to Right: Jiyoung, Seungyeon, Gyuri, Nicole and Youngji)
And this brings us to the present! In the summer of 2022, for the first time ever, Youngji, Seungyeon, Jiyoung, Nicole and Gyuri would join forces for a commemorative photoshoot for KARA's fifteenth anniversary, and would also announce an upcoming album! The Korean version of said album, Move Again, released yesterday, with WHEN I MOVE as the lead track. WHEN I MOVE is a dance track with an elegant and mature tone. The girls slay the choreography and don't feel the need to infantilize themselves to appeal to a younger audience, instead looking and acting like the mature, badass women that they are, and the music itself does not appeal to current trends; the entirety of Move Again sounds as if it was naturally released after IN LOVE, their last album before disbandment. The music video also honours Hara with a sixth chair and microphone reserved for her, who is no longer with us. You'll notice I made no references to any of the events that lead to her demise, not for a lack of care, but because I strongly believe she should be remembered for how she lived, not how or why she no longer does. Hara was a hardworking, badass bitch who had to work from a young age, supporting herself, her brother and her grandma, after their parents abandoned them. If you want to know about Hara don't look up videos and articles seeking to gain clicks by dramatizing her death, you should get to know Hara through her music with KARA, or her work as a TV show host.
To celebrate Hara, Youngji, Seungyeon, Jiyoung, Nicole and Gyuri, here are a few more song recomendations, including some of their biggest hits as well as some of my own personal favourites from their discography:

I wonder how Giovanni from enthblaze's twin au would react to the events of Lost But Never Found?
@enthblaze I'm borrowing your boy for a second
So how would Giovanni from the Twins au deal with everything that happens on the 2012 side of Lost But Never Found.
Short Answer not great
Long Answer below
Ok so the story begins post season 5, after Giovanni leaves to travel the world.
Well one day he gets an urgent call from Raph, asking him to come home early from his traveling.
The reason why shocks him.
Leo has gone missing.
Which is both concerning and unusual considering that the city was at peace. Most of the action was just petty crime, not alien invasions or deadly feuds between clans.
Most of their villains were gone, either defeated or having since abandoned their evil ways.
So this is definitely out of the blue.
Giovanni returns home as quick as he can, when he enters the lair he doesnt even stay for two minutes before the now four turtles are all riding in the shellraiser, looking for their older brother.
They search the entire city, every single old Kraang hideout, Foot Clan base, everything. Not a single trace of Leo.
But they've only been searching for a few hours! They'll find him.
Hours turn into days.
Days turn into weeks.
Weeks turn into months.
Not a single trace of Leo.
Its like he just disappeared into thin air.
By the time they are four months into the search it becomes apparent that Van has more or less become the defacto leader, he was the next oldest after all. And god is he struggling. He's the medic, not the leader that was always Leo's thing. Making all the important decisions, all three of his younger brother looking to him for answers.
Its hard.
It is also around this time that Donnie makes a horrible statement, that causes one of the biggest fights between the Hamato brothers to date.
"We most likely aren't going to find Leo...and if we do he more than likely wont be alive."
It is Van that speaks first. Well speaks isnt the right word...screams is more like it.
"How can you say that?" Raph and Mikey shout similar responses, and the fight begins.
Deep down Van knows that Donnie is right, they had no leads for months, nothing to work with. Nothing indicating that Leo could still be alive. Hell the odds of finding most missing persons goes down drastically after the first twenty four hours.
Doesn't make it hurt any less. Because no Leo has to be alive. He's survived the worst the universe threw at him, just disappearing and gone forever was so out of pocket, so unbelievably unLeo that it couldn't be true.
And hearing his younger say that made Van's blood boil.
It ended in a screaming match between the four of them, some horrible words were thrown around until the four brothers were all hoarse, faces streaked with tears.
(Little did anyone know that the very next day, in another dimension, Indigo met a certain Red Eared Slider looking for a portal coin)
None of the four Hamato brothers spoke to each other for almost two weeks.
Van took the shellraiser out with Raph every single night, searching for his twin. He barely slept, barely ate, just kept searching and searching.
As the medic he knew it was destroying him, but he didn't care. He would find Leo or die trying.
Everyone kept searching, even asking Renet and the 1987 turtles to help in the search.
But no Leo to be found.
As the months dragged on, Van became the peacekeeper for the many more fights that kept happening between his younger brothers, trying to keep the family together.
But they were all terrified, and they were hurting...so they took that fear and that pain out on each other, saying things they didn't mean and screaming till it hurt.
Eventually, now seven months since Leo disappeared, Giovanni called a meeting.
They couldn't keep doing this anymore. They were all exhausted, they had NOTHING, and they were tearing each other apart.
"Leo wouldn't want us to destroy ourselves like this...all we can do now is try to move on and add his photo to the family shrine." Van's voice was so quiet, so emotionless and so drained. Tears rolled down his cheeks, god he didn't want to do this...
Raph looks pissed off, but that was expected. He was just reluctant to admit that Leo might be gone as Van was.
Donnie was trying not to cry, he knew this was coming at some point.
Surprisingly Mikey doesnt react at all. He just walks over.
And slaps Giovanni across the face, hard.
"How can you say that? How can you just give up on Leo? Our big brother? Your twin! How could you?" Mikey angrily sobs, sparking the second biggest fight since Leo disappeared.
Hours later they are all laying in a turtle pile, Leo's picture added to the shrine while his brothers sobbed and wailed like small children.
The small children that lost their father and now lost their big brother.
A headstone is erected next to Splinter's at the farmhouse. Though it feels hollow since there was no body, no ashes. Nothing.
Giovanni doesnt move from that spot in front of his twin's headstone, even when its pouring down rain.
Good. It hides the tears gushing from his eyes.
Was this his fault? Because he left the family? He came back several times after his travels! He did! And he couldn't stay, Leo knew that. After Splinter's death he felt suffocated, the feeling like he didn't belong in this family becoming so much more apparent.
So he traveled the world, he wasn't meant for the Hamato Lifestyle! He was happier on his travels!
But what if he stayed? If he stayed then maybe Leo would still be here. Was it not enough that they had to lose their father but their big brother too?
"Leo...please if somehow you are still alive give us, give me a sign!" Van whispers, choking on his own tears. "Please just give us something! We'll bring you home I promise! I wont leave again I swear...just give us something to work with." No response but who was Van kidding.
"But if you're...really...then I hope you and father are together. I'm so sorry Leo..." Eventually Raph joins Van at the headstone, holding his older brother while they both mourned their brother in blue.
However that changes when two months later, the four turtles are zapped into a different dimension. Van wakes up first, looking around at alternate versions of his family, when his eyes lock on an oh so familiar looking face that he can't believe it.
There is a fifth turtle among the counterparts, stockier with three toes instead of two, covered in so many scars and wearing an Indigo colored mask. But its him!
Its Leo!
Van scrambles to his feet, sprinting over to his twin before anyone can stop him, even shoving one of the alternate turtles to the floor in the process. He scoops Leo into a bone crushing hug, sobbing into his shoulder.
The others soon join in, the five turtles falling to the floor from the force. Even when Leo tries to squirm away at first, Van just squeezes him tighter. Eventually Van pulls away to actually get a good look at his twin, his heart jumping to his throat at the sight.
So many new scars, new cracks and chips on his plastron, a metal shell on his back.
The jagged, slash marks on his face. The anxiety and exhaustion clear in his eyes. The guilt...the fear... the shame, Van can see it all.
"Leo what happened to you?" Van asks timidly, almost afraid of the answer he would get.
His twin doesn't answer, in fact he looks away, trying to avoid everyone's gazes.
"You ok Indigo?" A red eared slider asks, Leo actually responding to the name.
Leo...or is it Indigo...gulps, trying to make himself look so small.
Eventually he explains everything, from being forced to fight in the Battle Nexus, his rescue, the defeat of the Shredder and how he got his memories back.
That was another thing, Leo forgot EVERYTHING. His family, his life, his name...
All because of Big Mama.
Later that night when the kids and Leo were asleep, Van gathered his three younger brothers.
All four were wearing black masks.
Big Mama put his brother, his twin through so much shit...oh hell no.
Giovanni is not going to let that slide.
None of them are.
What Big Mama did might as well be a declaration of war.
She is going down, and Giovanni is going to make her suffer.

Tumblr media
You really thought you had yourself together by the time you reach Levi’s apartment door. You had one whole flight of stairs to cut away the knot twisting your throat, and to wrangle the shakes in your hands.
But here you are on his doorstep, hiccuping softly, smearing tears across your cheeks. That dumb welcome mat of a panda peeking over ‘WELCOME!’ in quirky font that Hange gave him as a gag gift for his housewarming mocks you.
(It doesn’t fit him at all. The only reason Levi kept it is to have visitors wipe their feet at the door.)
You’re overreacting. It’s just, all these issues have been piling up until you hit your last straw today.
First of all, your roommate is useless. You hate to say that about someone, especially a first-year, but it was up to her to wash the dishes and take out the garbage three days ago. And for two consecutive nights she instead went out. The night before she was complaining about period pains, so she was bedridden all day.
Admittedly, you’re a petty bitch and you two agreed that it was her responsibility, so you just left. That was today.
Most recently, the dorm was picking up such a disgusting stink that you went to shower, but the water was freezing, so you gave up.
At any time, showering off is a smart idea whenever you go to see Levi. You’re just friends, but you’ve seen strangers he has unapologetically wrinkled his nose at. As friends, Levi’s jeers at Hange for their lack of hygiene is relentless, but as long as you’re apologetic, he’ll throw you some deodorant.
But you’re not clean, and shit, even if you were, you plan to apologize for showing up unannounced like this.
You’re still rolling explanations around in your head when the door abruptly shudders open, revealing a disgruntled Levi in the biggest sweater you have ever seen, at least for someone as small as him. It could double for a white dress—the hems wave around his lower thighs and totally swallow his hands—but he has sweatpants on regardless.
“What’re you doing here?” he asks, a little lamely.
“Um.”
You inwardly chastise yourself for forgetting. One of the metal rungs on the stairs is notoriously squeaky. It would be up to Levi to fix it, only he never bothers because it keeps him from having to install a doorbell.
Mikasa says he’s frugal to a fault.
“Well, I...” That knot in your throat makes a reappearance, and with a vengeance. “I-I didn’t know where else to go. I’ve just, been kinda having a shitty day.”
You sob softly and open your mouth to explain, but Levi has already stepped away with the door at his back, motioning with his head for you to come inside. You were too busy staring at your shoes to notice the distressed furrow in his brow until now.
“Well? What’re you waiting for?”
“Oh, thank you!”
“Don’t thank me,” he continues to grumble once the door is shut. His eyes follow you as you shuffle your shoes on the mat and kick off your shoes.
He then insists he take your coat. Then your scarf. And hat.
“This is what friends do, isn’t it?”
“You won't believe the day I had!”
You don’t need to ask permission to launch into a rant about the past few days; you have a lot to get off your chest.
You give him a recap of every shitty thing that has happened, with a couple choice words to describe your roommate—“Probably a spoiled brat anyway,” he remarks—but you hesitate to rant about your boyfriend.
Levi makes a face from his spot bundled up on the couch the second the topic comes up. That sweater, a gift from you, threatens to swallow his knees like it does his wrists.
“Did he do something?” Levi asks, tone dark.
He has a bit of protective streak around everyone, so you always remind yourself not to look into it too much. Your boyfriend just happens to not be so great, sometimes.
“Maybe,” you acquiesce, followed by a stressed sigh. “I mean, I don’t know for sure. I shouldn’t assume.”
Levi raises a brow.
So, maybe your boyfriend hasn’t been paying much attention to his phone the last couple days, because you’ve barely texted even though he’s been active on all his other social media.
It’s not a total shift from the attention you’re used to getting—
Levi cuts you off in the middle of your depressing monologue. “Don’t let him get away with that shit. He’s supposed to pay attention to you.“
“He’s just busy most of the time,” you argue weakly, wringing with your hands, which are freezing. “He has a full workload, plus a job, and the track team...”
Levi huffs through his nose and crosses his arms. “Not an excuse.”
You kind of regret saying anything. Never ever will Levi ever relent and comment anything positive when it comes to your boyfriend.
Does it make you a bad person that you find his over-protectiveness kind of super comforting?
Still.
You go on to explain, “He completely ghosted me three days ago.” You thrust your phone up in the air to bolster your point, but Levi is too far away, and so he ends up jerking your wrist closer to his face to read the messages (or lack thereof).
“Who the fuck replies with ‘K’ to a good morning message?”
To your relief, steam is practically pouring out of his ears; you feel less crazy for being upset.
“I know, right?”
You pull away, your knuckles brushing as you do.
Clearing your throat awkwardly, you try to rejoin your train of thought. “So, I thought hanging out would make me feel better, only I showed up without telling you, so I’m sorry.”
“Be sorry that you stink.” He shows you a sour look.
That’s the thing.
“I don't have any hot water. Either she’s been taking a lot of baths, or the pipes froze. You know, wintertime.”
“Why not both?” he scoffs, but then, he turns a little sheepish. “Look… I don’t mean to assume, but your roommate’s been flaking on you for three days now, right?”
You blink. “Yeah.”
“And your…” Then he sighs. “Nevermind.”
“…Oh.”
Frowning, you stare down at the cushions. Is that anxiety in your chest, or your heart shaking, threatening to shatter? Him, cheating on you?—With your own roommate? Sure, they have track together, but.
Fuck.
Levi pulls you out of your mind. “I see that shitty look on your face. Just forget what I said. You shouldn’t assume, remember?”
You sulk. Everything else you’ve been dealing with considered, should you let yourself be surprised?—Put more energy into being hurt? The relationship isn’t that serious, but shit, new tears are filling your eyes.
You sniff. “You know what? I’m being stupid. I’ll go home and take a shower.”
“Is…” Levi turns red. “Is it because of what I said?”
“No!” you say, a little too fast. “I just don’t know how I didn’t see that sooner, really. I’ll be back after I shower.”
As you go to stand, Levi also hops to his feet and discreetly sidesteps so he blocks the front door.
He puts on hand on his hip in defiance. “No, you’ll freeze. Use my shower.”
You gawk at him. “Levi, I couldn’t.”
“Use my water?” He deadpans. “Please. The landlord covers it. I’ll make dinner so you don’t have to deal with more disgusting dishes.”
That, you won’t let slide. On your feet, you wander over and flick his forehead. He makes a face at you, but the hardness in his expression has smoothed over.
“You’re too kind,” you murmur, and look down.
Does it also make you a bad person that you kind of wanna kiss his cheek?—Are those butterflies in your belly?
“I’m not,” he stammers. “You can. You… You had a shitty day. We can order pizza, watch a movie, whatever you want.”
When you look up, it’s his turn to stare at the ground. The pink blush rising to his cheeks compliments his total shyness, and—
He’s being really, really cute.
So… you surrender. Movie night and pizza with Levi it is.

Michael is hilarious if he thinks I would EVER choose him over any of my boys lmao like ngl might have to test drive👀 but just to know how much I don’t need him😇 however I am not above being a menace and I will lay All over him to get the brother jealous. He’s like younger brother by 5 seconds to Lucifer so my HC for him is that he’s very petty but will seem nice on the outside like imagine Lucifer energy but diavolo vibes. Like he seems like a strict Headass but he’s so anti Lucifer league energy on the inside 😂 like he can so clearly tell what’s going on. He def won’t stop me from getting too close to his face under the guise of “oh wow you have really pretty eyes!” Or “wow you have really nice hands” or my wandering hands trying to feel him up (god dresses those angels up like sluts it’s not MY FAULT😡). Doing that anime thing where it’s like oh I’m giving you a hug but his face is in my chest AGSHDHD. He enjoys watching the brothers trying to set him on fire with their minds and also it’s been a while since he’s had a human👀 ik when Lilith was down there other angels had to be too lmao Michael is like a worse version of Lucifer but he’s the boss now so he has to pretend to be a saint. Has some brat tamer in him with a voyeurism streak with a sprinkle of exhibitionist🥰 so he will ruin you in his cute little corner of heaven that the brothers know where he would be hiding. DEFINITELY wants Lucifer to hear you beg for his cock, definitely the “younger sibling didn’t get enough attention” energy. Probably has some freaky angel power where he knows what’s on your heart or something so he’s gunna secretly fulfill your every desire so your brain is absolutely broken by the end of it. Little less control than Lucifer and that’s saying a lot since you just have to give Lucifer the eyes and he’s hard asf already😭 so Michael is on the brink of having his cum gushing out of you by you screaming his name for more. Gets off on you begging for him to ruin you and eyes rolling to the back of your head. Accidentally forget humans have sensory systems for a REASON and will fuck up tour body for like 14 hours like Lucifer will make it hard to walk for a week Michael will have you shuddering like a ghost is touching your shoulder bc when you walk your body is reminded of being overstimulated for so long😭 mans wants to absolutely rewrite your body chemistry and honestly,,, I would let him🤭 bc when I go home w my demons and angels they’re going ti nurse me back to heath but be pissed the whole time; however they need you to be at full max health to absolutely destroy you permanently💀💀 maybe even diavolo will rip apart reality to make some kind of Bruno zipper universe where time isn’t real so ti feels like they’ve been fucking you for a full year but in the devil some it’s been 4 hours😂 and barbatos will also pull a giorno and reset your body until your begging to be free and unfortunately apologizing doesn’t help in the slightest 😔 they’re going to fuck you until you pass out and wake you up by fucking you again
Michael is a damn fool! He couldn't PAY me to pick his old ass over Luci or any of the other demons smhhh
also, isn't it canon that he acts 'childishly' like.... i could see how that is endearing i suppose! and if it were to make luci jealous then I would def toy w him!! #anythingforlucifer!! so you're so right LMAO fine i see the appeal, you got me!
i cant imagine how he would be in bed because like he's an angel-a high up one!!, i feel like he would be a PRUDE BUT then again when I think about my love simeon... HES NOT VANILLA so like what is the truth?! eek but the thought of doing shit up there in heaven teehee where all the other angels are... wait a min- maybe i was too harsh on michael!!!
it's just so hard to think straight with Luci possessing my every thought! sigh
i feel like biggest threat in the game literally is getting dicked down by the other characters... like we dont have to worry about getting taken out by another random demon but we DO have to worry about barbatos and his endurance!!!
... is- michael going to be in the new game?? is- is he?!

🔥 enstars preferably some obscure shit on top of that
[SPACE JAM ANNOUNCER VOICE] Ladies And Gentlemen, Welcome. To The Main Event. Leeet's Get Ready To Ruuuumbleeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I know I put off these asks last night because I was tired, but I didn't forget about them. note that my responses are not going to be clearly formatted nor will they be extraordinarily intelligent, well-written thinkpieces. think of it as me unleashing the autism beasts, and good luck in advance!
I've talked about this previously, but since tempest just dropped on engstars I am seeing people discoursing and vocalising this specific take in real time, so I feel like it's a wonderful time to reiterate because it made me laugh and also made me sad. this isn't exactly a controversial opinion here on my insular tumblr community, but it'd definitely start shit on twitter.
I love the eccentrics as much as the next person and I love to see people produce them and make content of them, but a very notable chunk of eccentricsP (especially wataru-focused producers) loudly hate eichi or discredit his role in the story and those people will forever be a weak link in my eyes: this would seem petty to an outsider who would assume I must just hate anybody who hates my favourite characters, but I have my reasoning here.
eichi's presence is inextricable to the story of the eccentrics for better or for worse depending on how you look at things. that much is known by everybody. I think it's normal to have confusing or conflicting feelings on him particularly as somebody who is new to the story: I'm not going to drag people (especially not new players) to hell for having complex and mutable feelings on an antagonistic character. but I will have qualms if you refuse to even understand his narrative role at an entry level and offer his character any amount of sympathy, not even out of my own personal leverage, but because objectively, your misunderstanding of eichi will warp your understanding of the focal war/(!) narrative at its core. and these people are a wonderful example of that warped narrative.
I've oftentimes seen these people set up the story that eichi is irredeemable or insufferable, that the eccentrics were tragic kindred soulmate spirits who were torn apart by him but are bound to get back together and get their revenge through the Power Of Friendship, that wataru's character was butchered by having him fall in love with eichi, that he's a victim who fell prey to an abuser, or simply that his love for eichi is not genuine but is the long-winded set-up for a backstab. some people just think "this is the ultimatum", this is the real narrative of love in enstars. eichi loses, wataru escapes him, the eccentrics win, and it's love and it's beautiful and revolutionary!
you are waiting for a non-existent shoe to drop.
there is already a carefully-woven narrative about love right in your face: it has been there for years. and it's not only wataru's, but also eichi's. you cannot split them apart from each other in that regard, they are conjoined. a careful and sympathetic reader will know that. people do not see it exclusively and precisely because they shot themselves in the foot the moment they decided to actively hate and begrudge eichi, and they are now stuck angry and unsatisfied that the writer could do such a terrible thing to their sad, sopping wet, pathetic hibiki and his best friends.
→ the act of claiming that wataru is a victim whose character was butchered at the expense of loving eichi is, ironically enough, the biggest act of butchering his character. (and it's a very funny paradox.) wataru is a beautiful character, but his philosophy and presentation is fickle, vague, contradicting or difficult to grasp at times. a lot of information on him is debatable or downright missing, and that causes a lot of discrepancies among fanon interpretations of him: this is expected. but if there is one thing that should be clearly defined even without too deep of an outlook on the details of his story, it's that wataru controlled and chose his turn of events. wataru is smart. he chose to deny natsume's plan and play into his own execution because he saw through eichi and understood his intentions. this is presented in element and confirmed in neverland through nagisa's musings: "foolish, mighty monster who read us like an open book, yet willingly lay down to serve as a foundation. the present has been built atop your sacrifices. we alone will never forget that". he chose to join fine at his own volition and out of his own interests, and most of all he joined solely for eichi, not because his hand was forced. this is confirmed in flower festival. he chose to stay by eichi's side in the end because he fell in love with him: that's the pivotal moment of ep:link, and it is one of the moments that effectively defines the entire narrative. "we are living human beings, so we change, and we grow to love and admire people and such. that is precisely what the answer is — love is precisely what the answer is. i love you, and that is why i'll continue to be with you from now on." these choices were made out of the consciousness and love he holds in and for the story. these choices, his speeches, his extravagant nature, it's all in the name of love, love that he is trying to show to you, the audience. there is never a point at which he regrets this. you know what makes this all funnier? akin to all the comments and wishful theories that wataru must clearly wish to leave eichi in favour of his old friends, in sanctuary, even eichi, in a volatile and insecure state, tells him for a second time "i thought you had finally lost interest in me as a character in your play. [...] i thought you'd finally ran out of patience and given up on me [...] as if i were shocked to discover the person i love actually hated me in return". and wataru immediately denies this, tells eichi that in his eyes he's the protagonist, he muses on how he was misinterpreted, but most of all, a line that stuck to me was "what a shame, that people don't believe me when i reveal my true feelings!" because that's exactly what this all is! it's a shame that people won't believe his true feelings! it's a massive disservice to his character, to his emotions and intentions. it's turning a beautiful and intentional character into a cardboard cutout caricature of a victim that doesn't exist. if you want to feel pity for wataru, feel it for his childhood, for his loneliness and isolation, for many other things, but not for this. you are not rightfully defending him and his role, you are doing a disservice to his autonomy in the narrative. the eccentrics are a beautiful, fascinating, tragic group of characters: they deserve their own spotlight, their recovery, and the right to having their perspectives and traumas that stemmed from the war be valued by other characters and readers alike. but I just don't think this is the right way to go about it.

Hassan + Yves:🍇🍑🍰🍹🍔🍟
Sitting in front of you so normally with a vice grip on your shoulders.....Hi!!!!!
For purpose of this ask, gonna be referring to DND Hassan :)
🍇: What sort of friend are they? Where are they in the group dynamic?
Hassan: unsure... hard to say. hassan really aint one to have long-lasting friendships, not outta choice but the fact that his friends usually dont stick around. but in a group he's usually the voice of reason but if that voice of reason could be easily swayed into being an accomplice. like yk the kid from the magical school bus thats like can we PLEASE have a normal field trip..... thats him. thats hassan de ruyter. he's so unsure about everything but he'll tag along cuz he dont got no one else. despite this and his fear of everybody he can honestly be a genuine and kind guy 2 hang with..... just a little bit tired 24/7 and easily exasperated but for the most part it really dont change the fact that he cares about people a LOT. he will sit with you after a very long day and reminisce the past and hope for the future. even if he cant assure himself, he'll sure as hell assure you.
Yves: PETTY ASSHOLE... you wouldnt be even sure if you WERE friends cuz its hard to tell if he likes you or not. cuz he can act like he tolerates you and then talk about you behind your back like its nothing. dreamy sigh... he starts problems with people on purpose... hes THAT guy yk. very petty, very judgemental, but not very secretive about it. he's abrasive and a drama queen but its ok hes silly about it..
🍑: What sort of traits does your OC look for in a Significant Other?
Hassan: same sorta approach he has for friendships: He doesn't. he's never dated, more or less because he doesn't feel like he COULD be dated. however... think his brain flares up for dominant women. women who can carry him bridal style... heeeeeeeeey... not exclusive to women though. but besides that, honestly someone who he can chill with and do fuckall. and probably as introverted out as he is.
Yves: someone who can loosen up and be silaaaay and have fun!!!! he goes out a lot, so having someone who can keep up with him is a good thing!! ofc thats less important. frankly someone who's willing to scratch his back and he'll do the same, mutually beneficial relationship.
🍰: What's something your OC counts as unforgivable?
Hassan: you can do whatever you want, but instigating shit with betsy, you are LITERALLY on his shitlist. thats the only thing in this world he cares about, that and his goat. you cant hurt his animals and get away with it, you are forever hated.
Yves: ripping him away from control, or making him feel like he's not in control. that's probably the biggest part of him. a need to be in control of everything and everyone - including himself. so taking away that choice, no matter how harmful or questionable his choice is, youre basically threatening his entire self worth since his entire persona is built on control and power.
🍹: Does your OC have any funny anecdotes told about them?
Hassan: saedboy... nawt really.. he can be a really HONESTLY funny fucking guy, even if on accident cuz of how he interacts with people, and being a scaredy cat, but no one really knows him long enough for any anecdotes to be made.
Yves: him and elias went out for a night in the city, originally intending to get parts for his mech, but something happened and i dont even know what happened, but they woke up in elias's apartment with half of their face temporarily paralyzed and also ppl on the omninet were calling yves and elias Mistresses. i dont know what happened. i dont know what happened.
🍔: Are there any recent trends you think your OC would hate? Or love?
Hassan: 😭 i dont know any IN trends rn... but i know he'd love the barbie movie i just know he'd gather all of his friends and beg them to watch barbie with him..... he's very fucking passionate about the shit he likes and hes not a pushy guy but he WILL beg on his knees.
Yves: i hate 2 say it... but this is just yves, thats just who he is. he'd HATE the re-emergence of unions.... he's those dudes on twitter who complain abt how no one wants to work these days and like. if youre living on minimum wage then save money and get another job. and then he goes offline and takes wages by being a landlord. do you understand. he's so fucking out of touch and tone deaf.
🍟: What does your OC admit to be their guilty pleasure? What actually is their guilty pleasure?
Hassan: if you'd ask him, *probably* sleeping in. he'll take any inch of sleep he can get, even if its 2 days in a row. that is actually his guilty pleasure. he would not move for anything if he had the choice.
Yves: if asked, he'd probably be like... :) my guilty pleasure is icecream or something super innocuous like that. but its actually making people angry at him and setting shit on fire.
🍩: What's a crime your OC is most likely to commit? What's a crime they're most likely to get arrested for?
Hassan: bit sad but public intoxication... tbh... he does. that a lot. its how he gets himself in deep shit cuz he's a lot more cocky and loud when he's drunk, compared to a sober him that's just anxious and soft spoken. he'd honestly get arrested for being just fucking insanely drunk and doing some stupid shit.
Yves: i cant even answer this question properly bc. he HAS committed crimes, war crimes. actual war criminal. not using the word as a throwabout, thats actually something he's done + tried to do again on more than one occasion. but he'd prolly get arrested for espionage lol

Jojo bingo: Diego Brando
Oh boy, okay,
Tumblr media
I got another anon ask about Dio specifically as well as Diego, and I’m probably not gonna do a bingo on Dio because that one would just be one with all of the squares striked simultaneously, and because I think about Dio way too much whenever my thoughts gravitate to JoJo and I really wanna focus on other characters for this in particular. So, Diego:
There’s a post I made talking about Dio specifically where I remarked that I wasn’t too big on Diego for, reasons I’ll also elaborate here. And I do feel like it’s worth pointing out that, for the longest time, my biggest issue with Diego really had nothing to do with the character and more so the fandom discussion around the character, that pretty much always put Diego forth as an objective improvement over Dio in every regard and praised Diego at the expense of putting down Dio as a poorly-constructed meme character and, that kind of stuff that grates on me fierce. It’s been some years since I’ve abandoned JoJo fandom spaces and, on further revaluation, yeah I actually do like Diego a fair bit. Not as much as Dio, not nearly as much as Dio, not even to the extent I wish I could like him, but still reasonably enough. I guess it comes down to that disconnect between what I like about Diego as a character, what I like about him in terms of how he relates to Dio, and what dissappoints me in him.
What I’m gonna say includes both Diegos, because there’s some differences between the two but I don’t subscribe to the idea that they are that different, not even morally speaking.
Tumblr media
The thing about Diego is that he is, and isn’t, Dio. He is much more alike Dio than Johnny is like Jonathan, but because Steel Ball Run turns the JoJo mythology upside down and reboots it from the ground up, he is, in a sense, free in a way that the original Dio could never be. As a character, he’s pretty great, as a rival to Johnny (in a relationship that’s hilariously much more antagonistic on Johnny’s end than it is on Dio’s), as a player in the race, as an enemy to Valentine and everyone else.  Untethered by bloodline family drama and the need to be the center of gravity through which everything spins around, Diego winds up being Dio in a vacuum, in some ways. He’s vicious, he’s overdramatic, he’s a show-off, he’s humorous, he does hand-stands while riding a horse, he’s petty, he turns into a fanged monster to tear his enemies apart and cracks inappropriate yet amusing one-liners while killing people or betraying his allies, he’s shitty in most of the ways that Phantom Blood Dio was, but he’s not the Ultimate Evil.
He’s just another morally dubious asshole jockey in a story where that describes basically every character whose last name doesn’t end with Steel or Valentine. He’s on no one’s side but his own and that gives him versatility to be an antagonist and straight-forward protagonist in equal measure, and even achieve a rather tragic finale that the original Dio never could have. He’s Dio downgraded from an all-encompassing antagonistic force to just another character, and he’s pretty damn cool and I imagine he’d be a fan favorite even if SBR was the first JoJo part. And I know this may sound contradictory but, the things I like about Diego as a character tend to be the ways in which he isn’t like Dio, and if anything, I wish sometimes he was even more different than Dio.
Dio has always been sort of a rosetta stone for the series, in the sense that his treatment in every part is a major indication of Araki’s changing tastes and growth as a writer. Dio’s presentation, whether it’s him or associated characters, transforms radically in every part, to the point you could argue that it’s not so much Dio that grows and changes as a character (although he does), as much as the world changes around him (both in-universe as well as outside of it) and reacts to him as a result. Diego, even though he’s nowhere near as important to his world as Dio, continues this pattern when compared to the prior Dios. He’s nuanced in different ways, more explicitly sympathetic ways. His backstory focuses on the most downplayed and sympathetic aspect of Dio’s origin (his love for his mother) and is considerably more tragic than Dio’s, his dreams are small and petty, his evil is rendered much less impactful in a world where everyone is just as morally grey as he is and with a Funny Valentine to eclipse him, and he dies tragically against the Big Bad, which goes a long way towards coloring him almost as a redemptive take on Dio, and the question of whether Dio could have been redeemed at all.
I disagree with the idea that he’s necessarily morally better than Dio, because more nuanced really doesn’t immediately mean that. He is essentially a more nuanced version of Phantom Blood human Dio, but Jojo's tone and characterization changed in ways that make Diego morally more forgivable (he’s an anti-hero, he’s not as pointlessly cruel and bloodthirsty, he’s framed as an underdog), but also worse in other aspects more in-line with how Araki handles villains currently (he’s somehow more misanthropic and explicitly rapey than the literal vampire). Even putting aside Alt Diego’s threat towards Lucy, OG Diego is introduced as having married an old lady and poisoned her for money, which is an explicit reference to what OG Dio did to George Joestar with adoption swapped for marriage.
Diego is the Dio who schemed for money and prestige and never dreamed of anything else, who bullied Jonathan and assaulted his girlfriend and dismissed the Stone Mask's history because it wouldnt earn him any money and got boozed up when his plans risked failure. Alt Diego demonstrates this as well. because he’s literally Diego except he’s got his proper Stand in The World (people forget that Scary Monsters was borrowed from Dr Ferdinand and not Diego’s Stand proper), and because he’s further along in transcending humanity, he has an attitude more alike DIO’s haughty arrogance and sadistic tendencies, and without a Valentine to oppose and with only Lucy Steel and a redeemed Johnny left, there is nobody to make him look better by comparison and get us to forget what a rancid shit he is.
Tumblr media
And that’s kind of my problem with Diego, that as well-written as he may be, he’s fundamentally a rehash of the least interesting version of Dio and a pretty pathetic one at that. He’s the boring, petty human Dio who never transcended humanity to become a cackling Resident Evil plague on legs, who never became a godlike cult leader and century-wide cancer and gloriously enjoyable megavillain who makes a blast of every scene he’s in, who never developed fascinating and varied dynamics with Jonathan and Pucci and his followers, who never became this supremely fascinating and perpetually transforming figure to build a world around. He’s just, again, another asshole jockey in a world full of asshole jockeys. There couldn’t be a place for DIO, in his original form, in this universe, he’s too big and archetypal and the series had to move on, and that in turn has to leave us with Diego, who is Dio boiled down to his issues and motivations, which were never the most interesting things about him.
Those were the things he went to the most absurd heights to try and get rid of so they wouldn’t dictate his life, in his perpetual struggle to overcome destiny itself, and when he doesn’t do that, when he begins and ends his story as an underdog mad at society (for all he gets praised for character development, he really is far, far more static than Dio ever was even in Phantom Blood alone), is just not that interesting on his own. He’s a great character, he just doesn’t have much of anything that makes Dio my favorite JoJo character. To be honest, even his dinosaur powers kinda dissappoint me a little, with all the interesting things that could be done with them. I loved when he turned those guards into lamps and I wish he did more things like that instead of just going werewolf.
Tumblr media
Again, I do wanna clarify that, as much as I dislike the idea that he’s this massive objective improvement over Dio because he’s more sympathetic (which people mistake for nuance), I like Diego quite a bit, as his own character, and I think he’s fascinating as a interesting punctuation statement in all the years that Araki spent writing and developing Dio over the prior 6 parts, and a necessary one at that. Araki gets to have one last round with the character, with one where he gets to reimagine Dio and let him exist in a vacuum and even be somewhat forgivable and redeemable in ways the original one never could, and another that gives us one last DIO show of him where he gets to, at last, defeat JoJo for good, and meet his (CRUCIAL AND MOST DESERVED) end at the hands of the Pendleton girl. If nothing else, Lucy Steel getting revenge for Erina and the Joestar bloodline by being the one to put down Dio for good, with a kiss no less? Makes Steel Ball Run’s ending one of the top JoJo endings by far.
Is is, indeed, very fitting that Diego, despite everything, gained exactly what Dio desired most of all: freedom from his destiny, from his cursed bloodline, from the Joestars. Diego has what Dio wanted in every part, hell you could even argue Diego had the most crucial element of Dio’s whole Heaven plan, and he still dies twice pursuing his ambition: He dies trying to take on a higher power and failing, and even after transcending humanity again, he dies because he aims higher still and doesn’t leave the Pendleton girl alone, cementing beyond all doubt that, even given a clean slate in a different universe, Dio has nothing and no one to blame for but himself.
Speedwagon remains validated.

So I just saw a theory of Guillermo possibly being the reincarnation of Nandor’s old horse, John 😂 What do you think of that theory?
I could see this show going there tbh. It’s just the right amount of ridiculous and plausible for a theory like that to work for this specific show, especially because IT IS canon that Gregor was a horse (and a mouse?) in his past life so it’s not like the past lover being an animal/pet in their past life wouldn’t make any sense, cause it does in this show’s canon lore. Also it would still make sense for their relationship, by how much Nandor adored John (he was probably the only living thing Nandor loved the most in his whole life, way more than any of his wives just from the sole fact of him remembering his name and none of his wives names, also for the fact that killing him was his biggest regret in life), and by how “delicious” (but devastated ofc) he was when he had to eat him (could be a great opportunity for a lil cheeky “I saw what ya did there” parallel in the future(?)lol. Buy maybe not even the future, since it’s already been established that Nandor found Guillermo “hard to resist” at the start).
Also Nandor has said at one point that John was “his closest companion” and then of course we have him saying that about Guillermo in 3x04. Hmmm 🧐
-----------
I remember this theory going around a year or two ago lmao.
It is not one that I generally subscribe to haha. I think it was really popular before Guillermo became quite such a badass, at which point people realized that his real personality (which would presumably carry throughout lifetimes) is actually petty and bitchy and strong as all hell. Not just a beast of burden, so to speak. (Though I suppose some horses are actually pretty stubborn and bitchy themselves, but John wasn't described that way lmao.) So I think the Nandor's horse parallel started to fall apart a little bit, especially once their power dynamic started to change.
tbh I could even see it being a theory that held quite a lot of water for the reasons you stated in season 2. But I do think that Guillermo's personality started changing quite a bit in s3 and I don't think it held up quite as well then. I guess I could see them going for something crazy like that...? But it does feel more like a Clement joke than what they're going for currently.
I suppose I wouldn't really rule anything out for this group of writers. (Crazy people...) And who knows, they could go for a whole "Guillermo's had hundreds of lives but this is the first time he's really been able to be his full self" thing.
But... no. It's not a theory that I think about often. lmao. I guess it's at the level of "eh, I guess I could write fic about it?" but not "oh I really like this one and think it'll happen."

Ok another day another persona 3 rant.
Party member controls.
Actually party members in general, Persona 3 knocks it out of the park, better than the other persona games.
Alot of people cant stand that you dont directly control the party in p3/fes but im going to argue that p3 does it right (and because im a petty bitch p3p and bg3 do it wrong)
So in persona 3 and fes you dont control your party members in battle. You can give them general directives but they are theyre own person.
In persona 3 the protagonist isnt the leader of the group, thats Mitsuru, but MC leads the operations (so dumbass redditors who try to say that its a plot whole the mc leads the team for no reason fail the basic reading comprehension test) but both the story and game design reflect that fact.
You can decide when to go to tartarus but you have to ask mitsuru if you can (later fuuka but if mitsuru and aki are out youre sol)
The party all lives in the same dorm (BEST DESCISION EVER MORE GAMES SHOULD STEAL IT) so at the end of nearly every ingame day you go home and interact with your party all in one room. They only have a few lines but even the way they sit around the dorm reinforces the relationships and tensions. Like yukari being distant with mitsuru until their yuri scene or junpei starting to sit apart from the group when he has his own problems in the story (also when he starts struggling mechanically in the game too). The persona 3 dorm was a brilliant idea and i dont know why they took it away in 4 and 5, it really helped the party develop
On top of this the party members all have their own lives and schedules; sometimes yukaris busy with archery team, sometimes shinji has to go brood. You are not the complete authority of the people that make up the party, you just tell them what to do in combat.
Also, you dont have access to the party members inventory or stats at any given time. Yes its mildly annoying but my point is with this half dozen set of mechanics it builds to a very well dont cohesive whole ok.
If you want to look at your partys stats tou gotta ask the navigator or themselves in the dungeon. If you want them to equip items you gotta talk to them. Sometimes theyll give items back after a while if they get a better one or you use one for too long.
So i do really like the whole theme that the design of the p3 party works towards. Yes its annoying when the party member does something dumb (marin fucking karin) but it adds more the game than it removes.
However like the "bad" slinks in p3, portable just removes them and makes them more "fun" because god forbid games have themes that are challenging. Thats my biggest issue with p3p, it tries to sand down the unique challenging aspects of persona 3 that were theyre on purpose and were effective, and replaced them with stuff that was "fun" but not particularly well thought out, or written, or thematic.
In p3 when you (or an enemy) get hit eith a thing youre weak against you get knocked down. That lowerd defense and makes you lose a turn unless you get hit again. Aoe attacks dont grant extra actions like normally hittings weaknesses or crits do.
Its harsh but balanced, you can effectively fight bosses youre underleveled for by downing them and makinf them waste their turn standing up for instance.
P3p removes the loosing a turn, and makes aoe attacks grant extra turns. Yes its more "fun," but now aoe attacks are brokenly powerful. Sometimes a group of 3 enemies hits the entire party 6 times cuz one person is weak to their attacks. Alternatively you do the exact same back to them and get bored.
So how will p3r implement this? Well because its not 2006 anymore we'll have direct access to party members n shit, whatever. We'll see, however p3 and fes weren't "bad" or wrong because they did what they did

My biggest issue with James Gunn's DCU is that I have very little faith in him to be able to pull off this 10-year plan for the DCU.
I want to be cautiously optimistic. However, there's a lot of reasons to be more cautious than optimistic. First, we have the fact he did the old DCEU no favors not advocating for it to get a proper conclusion. Maybe with a movie with The Trinity vs Darkseid. Because who wouldn't want that lol
The other big problem here is that even if you get the ideal situation where this new universe is filled with greater stories to tell & loveable characters to explore, the casual audience is burned-out AND the hardcore audience is as well. There's also the fact that anyone who loved The Snyderverse or The DCEU as a whole got burned completely and likely won't be swayed or brought back by anything James Gunn does.
So basically their fucked. It's not a hopeless situation, but it's pretty fucking close.
The Snyderverse will always be something unique & thematically powerful. We know who Superman & Lex were in the comics. Lex in BVS is someone who is just as sleazy, twisted, petty, and manipulative as I expect Lex to be. His intelligence is showcased well in the scene where Superman confronts him for the first time. He reveals he knows his name & Batman's. He reveals that his motivation is one born from a demented and warped obsession to prove that in his words, God is not all powerful nor all good. He's just as flawed as anyone else. But most importantly, to him, is that Superman gets torn apart by the very people he's trying to save. Just like the son of God themselves were.
You can clearly see Zack Snyder's use of religion, politics, and morality throughout BVS and I really love how Jesse Eisenberg portrays Lex's descent into madness, as well as the beginning of being more like Lex Luthor from the comics after BVS & ZSJL..
By comparison, what will the DCU's version of Lex Luthor be? How will Clark Kent/Superman be? How will The Batfamily be? How will this even be able to go on for anywhere near 10 years? I'm curious to find out.
The worst part about The Snyderverse is that Zack Snyder was gonna end it with Crisis on Infinite Earths.
We could've still gotten The DCU after we got a Justice League trilogy, Superman trilogy, Wonder Woman trilogy (with great sequels instead of the dumpster fire that was WW84), Batman trilogy, Batfamily movie, Nightwing movie, Red Hood movie, Batgirls movie (Oracle training Cassandra Cain & Stephanie Brown) and finally a big final teamup movie to end everything with Crisis on Infinite Earths where they could've shown The DCU in the after credits scene.
Instead, we have a very bittersweet future no matter what for DC movies going forward.
