In Extremis 1.5e is now available (with a way cooler wrap around cover at that)
You are a Necromancer, one of a handful of hideously powerful death witches that protect the planet Hecate. The Corvus Dominion has come for you, and they intend to wipe out everything and everyone you've ever known or loved. They've killed your allies, they've destroyed countless planets before you. End them or it's all over.
In Extremis is my tabletop roleplaying game about fighting the forces of evil with necromancy, protecting what matters to you, and being queer in space. I've said a lot about it over the years, but lets dive into what's in the game, what folks are saying about it, and what's new in 1.5!
In Extremis is a game designed to make you feel powerful badass necromancer who resists death and turns it against their enemies. It uses the LUMEN system so combat is quick, engaging, and exciting; offering 50+ unique death-tinged and evolving spells, modular enemies, and guidance on how to keep things moving and fun on Hecate.

So that's house keeping and explaining the game! What's new though? I've sold this game for a while, and this isn't the first print ever, so what's exciting here?
Simply put it's better than ever! Partnering with Plus One Exp we were able to reprint the game in a new (more bookshelf friendly) format, and drive the price down fairly significantly! Which is great for the price, but why is it a 1.5e?
There's new content! To go alongside it's new formatting we have a few pages of new content including a new mechanic in the form of Death Rattles, spells your necromancers can blast off to damn their enemies even during their own death. There's also a huge number of balance patches, clarifications, spelling and grammar fixes, etc.
If you already owned the book, it's probably not worth the purchase unless you just like it's new shape or want some more copies for your friends, but if you've never picked it up before there's never been a better time!
Also I have so much free digital stuff for the game floating around out there! If you like the game already, Season of Discovery is so far 3 full expansions for the game, and it's totally free! It includes a bunch of new mechanics, new classes, new spells, new weapons, new enemies, and more!
Also because I'm here and tumblr doesn't have text limits I'm gonna give yall some hot gossip about what's coming next but like be cool about it

splatoon 3 hot take turned impromptu essay
was stuck offline in splatoon 3 because internet was actin up and i realized how pretty the photomode splatoon 3 filters are compared to the actual game
i was taking photos on brinewater and thought. damn. this game looks fine but i miss how VIBRANT splatoon 1 was! i wish i could play sploon 3 with this photomode filter on all the time. and brinewater is the best map for this because of the sunset lighting! so i went to one of the worst offenders mapwise for general color—undertow spillway. it is a warm gray mess:
for someplace underground, it’s WAY too warm of a tone—even if there are skylights, they aren’t very well defined, as they’re off in the background—they’d be better with some light shafts to pop out more, imo.
so here’s undertow with photomode filter #6 (this would’ve been a video but tumblr limits to 1 video per post):
and i think this looks a lot nicer, colorwise! the icky warm gray is shifted to a soft pink—and while that’s still not in keeping with the lack of obvious skylights, it works better than warm gray.
so then i opened ibis x paint and got to work on a filter that would hopefully help elevate the entire game’s look:
on top is photomode filter #6, in the middle is the original screenshot, and on the bottom is my proposed filter.
i upped the contrast, brightness, and saturation a bit, then added a 5% pure magenta (#FF00FF) overlay layer on top of that. then i added a slight gaussian blur to emulate antialiasing, which nintendo refuses to do for some reason!
and i wanna play splatoon like that! i miss the vibrancy and intricacy of splatoon 1…
incoming splatoon 1 essay‼️
not only were the colors eye-bleachingly bright, but the overall game feel was much more immersive—especially in ink physics. you could paint trees, and the ink would drip down through leaves as if it were rain… ink splatter would respond to the movements of platforms, keeping its intertia as it dripped! you could see the textures of surfaces through the ink, as if it were an actual liquid instead of a layer of thick oil. 3 doesn’t have any of those special touches.
there’s also the music… 1’s ost feels so much more WEIRD and experimental than the later games, and that really helps cement that this is not human society—this is a new thing—which tracks for splatoon 1, as it was so zany nobody had ever seen anything quite like it before! splatoon 2 follows this sheer melting-pot of brashness and creativity with evolving and varied styles—where once was punk and weird samples in Squid Squad is now groovy rock in Wet Floor, jazz in Ink Theory, and also whatever Sashi-Mori was. also i <3 chirpy chips. splatoon 3’s music goes back to that punk, but i feel that it loses some of the charm and creativity of the first two games. C-side is pure metal, and hardly uses any weird instruments. there have sparsely been other splatbands involved with regular battle music—Yoko&tgb call back to the jazz of Ink Theory which i love! Off the Hook’s new tracks delve into a new style in piano rock. but the main band kind of falls flat to me. :(
let’s talk stages. in splatoon 1, stages were wildly different from each other, including skateparks, construction sites, underpasses, malls, sewage plants, and other locals that are culturally underground. the rest of the trilogy moves away from this in a story standpoint, as ink battles evolve from punky, diy competitions into full-fledged championships in 2 and 3, with advancing battle infrastructure as time progresses. that’s fine, and honestly it’s cool to see that kind of worldbuilding! but in 1, each stage was designed about and influenced by the area it represented. Arowana Mall is a straight line with high vantage points on the second/third story because it’s a mall. Pirahna Pit features convenyor belts that shuffle refuse around because it’s a trash plant. Blackbelly Skatepark has so many hills and valleys because it’s a skatepark, for goodness sake. splatoon 3’s original stages have some of this charm, but it feels lost in ambiguity. why doesn’t Mincemeat Metalworks have small moving platforms on cranes or other heavy machinery? Idk, have some grates and one-way drops, and a car on a post. why isn’t there any water incorporated into the stage design of Brinewater Springs? Idk, have 2 paintable walls and a tetris piece. 3’s original stages have little to no connection between their locals and the geometry, which make it feel same-y compared to previous games.
maybe this is because of the inflexible philosophy of the designers—or their corporate oversight, maybe. for stages, you need to make a straight line or tetris piece with few routes to push, in an effort to promote the game’s main premise of Chaos. for music, you need to make punk songs that aren’t too weird so they don’t drive away the parents. maybe the little ink touches could have been missing because development was rushed?
i honestly dont know why it happened out this way—perhaps the splatoon team just needed more time to cook, in order to squeeze out that extra 20% of game feel? or maybe it was that speculated corporate oversight, i dunno. things WERE missing on launch—notable exceptions being X rank, online tableturf lobbies, and no more than three salmon run maps. i know we’ve yet to even get the DLC but for being about 75% of the way through the game’s content lifespan, but splatoon 3 feels incomplete. there have been improvements, yeah! i just wish there could’ve been more. i would rather have waited another year for splatoon 3 if it were polished that much better, y’know?
i honestly feel like splatoon 1 captured that creative, no-holds-barred mantle of Chaos better than 3 does. 3 feels… flanderized, in a way. the curse of trilogies, perhaps? writing about it more, it feels like not only have the in-game sports of turf war been ripped out of its seedy home and thrust into the spotlight, and gone “mainstream” (see: massive squidsport companies investing in multimillion battle lobbies with holograms and lockers [sunken scroll about that!], flying coffee machines that grant you brief invincibility, new rules and techniques that allow squid surges and rolls, etc.), but also the Real Life Physical Video Game Cartridge of Splatoon has been popularized massively with the sequels on the Switch. maybe i’m not missing the “vibrancy” of splatoon 1 when i look at the colors and photomode filters of splatoon 3, but instead the inherent punkiness and counterculture inspiration that i see in the original.

It seems like they all re-signed their contracts, Jimin included. They've worked too hard to build that brand, together. And I don't see any of them leaving the group.
That said, deciding to continue to be together with the group doesn't necessarily mean Jimin is all good with the way his solo projects were handled. He was himself vocal about a couple of things, visual album and promotion period.
Now I don't know where I fall in the 2 categories you mentioned. I would never have a problem with Jimin being with the group he loves so much. But i do wish his solo projects were handled by someone who values hard work and artistry and good music over "manufactured success".
Because hybe is doing nothing but killing his visions/artistry and flushing his hard work down, cause his success clashes with their business strategy. They believe only songs like dynamite, butter or seven can be successful and Jimin shows, you can still stick to your roots, do what you love and still have people like it. Bongo wants to remove k from kpop while Jimin seems proud of the k in kpop. You see? They are different. Nothing against what they are doing for JK (if thats what JK wants), but what they are doing to Jimin is not okay.
And as long as we keep supporting their mid songs, they will continue to dish out more mid songs and hold back any member who comes in the way.
But if they don't handle their solo work, they can't hold it back.
To cut it short, when Jimin returns, I hope he continues doing solo projects and they agree and his solo work is managed by someone else outside of hybe. Its not uncommon. I definitely do not wish to see him limited to 2 lines and 20 secs center stage in group songs for the rest of his career. He'll already be 30 when he returns, hopefully the rest of the years are used for what benefits him as well and not just hybe. Hopefully that's what he wants too.
You're preaching to the choir here anyway. Even more so, it's all the same to me if he stays with the group until old age, he goes somewhere else for solo projects, he sets up his own company, whatever option is out there. As long as Jimin gets to do the work he sets out to do and it turns out how he wants. I've been saying this many times before. But I also know that he is capable of knowing that and of taking the decisions that are best for him. No amount of fighting or endless talk on damn twitter and tumblr could possibly have an influence on that. It would be ridiculous to think so. What I'll never do is think of this person as someone helpless. As of now, Jimin is away for 18 months. I expect a mess and the same talks over and over from fans when his new project is released while he's in the military. Nothing will ever be enough and that's something I realized this year. Maybe after he returns and there's no other obligation looming over, his approach will be different. But talking about what might happen in the future for someone's career seems redundant at this point.

Hi! I'm really sorry if this isn't the right place to request something (I'm still quite new to tumblr, surprise surprise 😅) But I just love your work so much and I really want to see more of Reese.
What if: Reader, who is Reese's s/o, gets bullied by one of the girls from their highschool. Reader is close putting her back to her place but Reese tells her to let it go, as she told him to do that many times before. So she does, until she reaches her limit at some point and Reese just watched her beat her bully down to the ground with a look that says: "Damn. I love her."

Being Reese’s girlfriend came with certain perks you didn’t expect. The main thing was that because he was feared by the general school population, teachers included, you were protected from other people’s harassment, whether it was as revenge for something Reese had done to them or just because they didn’t like you. They knew Reese would pound them into the ground for messing with his girl.
There was an exception to this, though.
Reese didn’t have many standards, but one was that he didn’t physically fight with girls. The furthest he would go was gentle shoves or knocking into shoulders and hostility.
One girl, Rebecca Smith, used this to her advantage. For the past few months, she had been teasing and making fun of you, her posse of stuck-up friends always standing behind her to back her up. It was the normal stuff that mean girls made fun of other girls for; clothes, looks, that sort of thing. You tried not to let it get to you, but it was really starting to piss you off.
“Baby, just let it go.” Reese would continuously say as he stroked your hair, a foolproof way to calm you down. You had been ranting to your boyfriend about Rebecca’s latest act against you. She had seen that you had gotten a low grade on your most recent pop quiz and started teasing you, saying you might as well drop out along with your ‘idiot of a boyfriend’ and that you should stop bothering yourself with trying.
“After all,” she said, “We all know Malcolm is the one with the real shot.”
“I can’t just let it go, Reese.” You were starting to sound like your boyfriend. Funnily enough, the roles you two were playing right now were usually reversed; you’d tell him to calm down and not let people get to him, and he’d tell you he couldn’t. “She’s so mean, I can’t take it anymore.”
“Well, I can’t do anything about it. If I could, I would.”
“I know you would.” You sighed. “But even if you could, I wouldn’t want you to. This is a problem I have to deal with myself.”
“What can you do besides ignore her, Y/n?”
“I don’t know.” You responded somewhat helplessly. “But I gotta do something.”

A solution came sooner than expected, and it was not one you expected yourself.
Now, you consider yourself to be a generally peaceful and nonviolent person. When you had a problem with someone, you opted to talk it out rather than try to fight.
So you surprised yourself when Rebecca smacked your books out of your arms with a laugh, and you responded by beating the absolute shit out of her. Luckily there were no teachers nearby because you were passing through the courtyard while they all stood by their classrooms, waiting to welcome students in. You had left the books scattered on the ground and just started throwing punches.
You were surprisingly good at fighting. Maybe it was from all the times you saw Reese fight his brothers and other people before trying to pull him off them. Every time Rebecca attempted to block a smack or punch, you just hit her from the other side. You pulled her hair. You kicked her. You were feeling absolutely ruthless.
“Holy shit,” Reese muttered as he saw the sight. You were throwing all the hits, straddling Rebecca as she lay on the ground underneath you, trying to fight you off. Even though he didn’t want you to get in trouble, Reese was impressed with your hidden fighting abilities. But he knew he had to stop you before things got too out of hand. He ran, pushing past the forming crowd, and was somehow able to yank you off of Rebecca. “Y/n, let’s get out of here!”
Reese helped you grab all of your books, and the two of you ran like hell.
“Fuck you, Rebecca!” Was the last thing the crowd of students and Rebecca heard before you were out of the schoolyard. You and Reese didn’t know where to go; it was the middle of the school day. So you just wandered around town, exhausted.
“I thought I told you to let it go.” Reese’s words were meant to be scolding, but that message didn’t carry over in his tone. You laughed.
“As if you’ve ever listened to me when I’d say that.”
“True.” He laughed with you, kissing your head. “You know, watching you fight that chick was kinda hot.”
“Oh, shut up!” You shoved him away, but like a magnet, he pulled himself right back to your side.
“I’m proud of you.” He said, squeezing your shoulder.

What is the muse that you write for the longest? Hm, that is difficult to say. If this means like, what muse I have written the longest??? Then that'll be Cho Hakkai. Over on my multi-muse! Because I've written him off and on since, I'd say, uh... 2014????? Unless this question means who I want to write the longest, then the answer is so obvious: Sanji or Vash!
What are you looking for in a ship? I think most of the times what I look for in a ship is going off on ideas and just giggling about it? That and the obvious angst/fluff part of it. Along with various scenarios and suddenly we got so many different AUs based around these ships, that kind of thing!
What new addition would make your Tumblr experience so much better? Probably bringing back the old text editor? Because as much as I don't mind this one, I'd prefer the old one.
How far do go with divergencies when it comes to your canon muse? Probably not too far? There are certain things that I've altered. Like Sanji being quite fluent in Polish, which does branch out to certain foods and such. Zeff definitely rubbed him off when it came to various Polish things, including but not limited to swear words and phrases. Also, just the Whole Cake Island Arc where it's mostly just platonic with Pudding, etc. He still gets hurt by how he was betrayed. However, there's no love whatsoever. More like, protectiveness? Then again, I still have 10 or so episodes to finish before I finish the entire arc??? It just depends what I see, and what I could in theory branch off with any kind of ideas or inspirations I see from the show or manga.

Alright, so what now? (FAQ kinda sorta)
As, I've said before, the character poll brackets, as I've been posting them, are no longer going to be made for this blog. The process is long and requires such constant upkeep that it's been a big portion of my free time for the last few months and I want to start putting that time elsewhere. I think this is a good end point anyway.
What does no more brackets mean?
Firstly, we aren't accepting new character suggestions for a sixth bracket. The inbox will still be wide open but any asks wondering when we'll add Backdraft to the polls will be quietly deleted. I know there are characters we missed but I simply do not have the energy for a sixth bracket. Second, the polls that we do post now will not be tracked. If a character wins a poll, good for them, but they're not moving on to any extra rounds.
Is the blog dead now?
No, I do still want to post My Hero Academia related things to this blog but posts will be much more sparse from here on out.
What will you post now that the brackets are done?
Remember our one off bonus polls? Yeah, we're going to keep doing those! One off popularity polls of who the best character is under a set theme like 'Best Calvary Battle Team' or 'Best OVA'. Just fun, week long, MHA centered, polls that aren't limited to only two characters or only minor characters like the brackets were. We could even do more silly polls like the AFO vs Miku one.
Can I give you a bonus poll idea?
Absolutely! You can send suggestions to my ask box or Tumblr DMs, just a theme is fine but if you have specific characters in mind be sure to tell me. I'll probably keep options for these polls in the 5-8 range but we can go as far as tumblr lets us.
Can I steal the bracket format?
Since I'm no longer planning to make underrated character brackets, you are more than free to swipe the idea for characters I missed or for different fandoms. Go for it! I'll even shout you out if you tag me on any up and coming brackets to help get you some traction.
So, about manga spoilers...
I've kept this blog relatively spoiler free (trust me for some characters that was NOT easy) but as we go into random silly fun polls I might be a bit more lenient on spoilers, especially when season 7 eventually starts airing. If I post anything that includes spoiler images, characters not introduced in the anime yet or if just the fact that these characters are grouped together is a spoiler, I will tag the post with #mha spoilers and #mha manga spoilers. Please keep that in mind if you don't already have those blocked.

“You got a lot of balls coming here right now.” Hangman’s stupidly annoying voice said behind him.
Bradley had stumbled around base for at least an hour, trying to find his footing after the fight with Taylor. He couldn’t go home, his hangar had been locked for the night so his plane was off limits, and his damn Bronco was too low on gas. So he stumbled to the one place he knew would at least accept his credit card. Unfortunately, that meant running into most of his friends.
The music in the bar was solemn - news of Admiral Kazansky’s death spread quickly, and every patron was feeling the sorrow. It was incredible to know just how much of an impact the Admiral had on everyone. Nobody was at the pool tables or the dart boards, there wasn’t a crowd of drunk recruits singing by the jukebox, and any conversation was quiet and reserved.
“Your girlfriend nearly died in a plane crash and lost her uncle today and you’re drinking alone at the bar? You’re pitiful, Bradshaw.”
Bradley didn’t hesitate as he lurched backwards, taking his anger and channeling it into pinning Hangman to the column behind him. A few patrons of the bar gasped, including some of their friends. Hangman tensed his jaw, nodding. “That’s right, use that anger. Ruin the best thing that’s ever happened to you again, I dare you. We’ll see who is there to pick up the pieces you keep shattering.”
Rooster was breathing heavily, fire clouding his judgment. He wanted to punch the man in front of him. But he knew better. It wouldn’t fix the hurt in his chest. The bell behind the bar rang loudly, breaking his stare with the blond pilot. The crowd around them yelled ‘Overboard’ and the pair ended up outside.
Rooster paced back and forth while Hangman sat in one of the chairs on the patio.
“Rooster.” Hangman mumbled as he watched his fellow pilot. “Rooster, will you stop pacing for God’s sake and think about her for a moment? Think about everything that girl has done for you?”
Bradley ignored him, continuing with his rage-filled delirium. He was fuming. Fuming at Maverick for pulling his papers, for pushing him back so far, for never explaining his reasoning. Fuming at the Navy for killing his father, for taking his uncle away and never knowing if he was coming home, at the world for taking his mother too soon. Fuming at Maverick for not telling his daughter that her uncle was dying. Fuming at her-
“Think about her for a moment.”
Why? Why was he so mad at her? For her last name? Her papers had been pulled, Jesus. Without Ice, she would have been in the same position that he was. But she hadn’t, and she knew that all along. She stuck to him like glue, even more so after the fallout with Maverick. As much as he pushed her away, she was a moth to a flame. She was the reason he excelled and climbed the ranks so quickly. She was the reason he stood at Top Gun the first time, both of them crying and screaming with excitement when he showed her his acceptance letter two years after she graduated the program. She was his guardian angel all of these years. She was his Ice.
His best friend. The love of his life. And all he could repay her with was angry arguments, keeping her at arm's length when things went wrong, and breaking her heart more times than a heart should break every time something serious came up. Fuck, he was an idiot.
Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw was an idiot.
The aviator finally snapped out of his rage and headed to his truck. He hadn’t noticed that Hangman had left him there alone almost an hour ago at this point.
Bradley drove as fast as he could to her home, their home. It was almost three in the morning by the time he pulled into the driveway, and her car wasn’t there. His head hung low as he stumbled through the house, checking to see if maybe, just maybe, someone had given her a ride home and he could apologize for the rest of his life.
Instead he was met with his black Navy uniform laid out neatly on the bed. Hers were missing from their closet.

Taylor didn’t remember much about the funeral.
Cyclone forced her and Maverick to take the morning off of training to be with Sarah while the rest of the Top Gun class flew. As much as she opposed the temporary leave, she was in no shape to fly and she knew it. Her fellow pilots arrived as one team to Ice’s burial. She took their hugs numbly, but was so grateful to have them standing with her as her father dug the Admiral’s wings into the wood. Bradley tightened his reassuring hand in hers as the guns rang out. She never looked at him. She couldn’t.
Hangman drove her back to base with Phoenix and Bob, not a word said over the quiet sounds of Jake’s radio. She was too dazed to even remember the drive.
When Maverick returned to base after his final meeting with Cyclone and Warlock, he found comfort in knowing his daughter’s safe place had stayed the same all of these years, finding her quietly sitting in her plane, one hand tracing her callsign under the cockpit. Her eyes flickered up every time a jet landed on the tarmac in front of her. That small childlike admiration was still in there, sheltered behind the proud Naval aviator with too much loss in her heart. When she finally spotted him approaching her jet, she climbed out and rushed into his arms as they both cried for the loss of their oldest friend.
“Please don’t bench me.” Taylor mumbled and a pang of sadness struck his heart. He led her over to one of the work stations and they sat down. “Dad, please don’t bench me. I want to fly. I want a chance at leader.”
She was definitely his daughter. Like Carole had said when Goose died, he’d have wanted him to keep flying. Ice would want the same thing.
He took her hand and smiled lightly. She briefly gave him a look of relief until her face fell again. “Uncle Goose face.” She pointed out quietly.
He would learn to suppress that face someday. “Cyclone grounded me, sweetheart. I’m not instructing the course anymore.”
“What?” She squeaked out, eyes wide. “He can’t do that.”
“Ice was the only reason I got this gig. With him gone, I don’t have any power.”
“Like hell you don’t. Cyclone has no right to pull you out. We’re three days til mission!” She stood up angrily, the fiery spirit reigniting in her soul.
Maverick couldn’t help but laugh. There was the daughter he knew and loved. “He has all the power in the world, Astro. Don’t be like your father and disobey him. Taylor, look at me.”
Her bright eyes met his.
“You guys are ready for this. I promise. Don’t think,”
“Just do.” They said in unison.
She sighed, sitting back down in front of him, quickly deflated from exhaustion. “Why didn’t you tell me about Ice?”
Maverick let out a breath, holding back the lump in his throat. “He wanted to wait until after this mission was over. He wanted you to fly this so bad, sweetheart. He thought he would make it long enough to see you on the other side of it.”
Taylor teared up again, picking at a callous on her hand. “I don’t know what I’m going to do without him. I don’t know who I am without him.”
He patted her hand. “You know exactly who you are. If I can’t convince you, there’s a whole line of other people who will try their damndest.” His eyes flicked to a figure standing at the entrance of the hangar. Maverick smiled and placed a kiss on the top of her head. “I’ll be at Penny’s if you need anything.”
Footsteps approached lightly. “I hope I can be second in line for the convincing.” Taylor turned to see Bradley there, a small comforting smile on his face.
“Hi.” She looked down at her hands again.
“Can I sit?” She nodded. “Why didn’t you tell me about your papers?”
“Would it have changed anything? I didn’t want you to hate him any more than you did. Or hate me by proxy.”
His face fell. “I don’t think it would have changed anything back then. I’m sorry for what I said the other night. I wasn’t in a good headspace and took it out on Maverick. I never wanted you to hear that.” He locked eyes with her. “I’m sorry about Ice, baby.”
She was keeping her tears at bay as best as she could but the exhaustion of the day was weighing so heavy on her shoulders. “Will you ever forgive him?” She asked the big question, one that they avoided as much as possible throughout their relationship. It had been too long, the damage far too irreparable. But she couldn’t accept that the only family she had left wouldn’t talk to each other, not anymore. “Bradley, I need to know. I don’t know how much longer I can keep doing this.”
Bradley sighed, defeated. “I want to. For you, for me, for dad.” Her ears perked up. For the first time ever, was he admitting that?
“Bradley, I-”
“You’re my family. He’s my family. I know he was trying to protect us both from the life that he and dad lived. I understand that now. But how do I start that conversation? What do I say to make up for all of these years?” The man in front of her wiped a loose tear away from his cheek. “I love you. I’m so sorry you’ve been stuck in between for so long, and for all the hell I’ve put you through. I almost lost you out there, Tay. I don’t know what I would have done if you had-”
“Hey,” she placed her hand on his thigh, keeping his beautiful eyes focused on her. She could see his facade breaking, the hardened pilot with too much on his brain melting into the boy she grew up with and fell in love with. He was her forever, and she knew now more than ever that was true. “I’m okay. I’m not going anywhere.”
He nodded, wiping another tear away, the words he wanted to say failing him. But she knew.
She leaned up and placed a long kiss on his cheek. “I love you, Bradley. I’m right here. We’ll figure this out together, like we always have.”

since ive been too College to have enough art for any sort of summary im just gonna put a general year end rundown of what i feel i did best on this year!!
i think every year since i figured out that i dont need to use pens to line has just gotten better art wise for me. FUCK lining. pencils are my best friends forever and ever and can do your job better than you ever could. anyway apologies for some of these drawings being crunchier than others, i only recently got a scanner and Cannot be assed to scan my old art for this post rn.
also the first art here is a hatoful boyfriend spoiler. i mean i guess the last one is too but its vaguer i think. anyway. none of these are actually analyses of what i learned with each art im just braining
april 5th-
you guys know this one i REALLY like it. why in the goddamn were my best pieces this year hatoful boyfriend. anyway i uh. hey did you know that i didnt do the notgeki with graphite because i like mixed media. i did it because i have not owned a grey pencil for my some-teen years of drawing ever. i only JUST got a grey pencil like. a couple months ago. i mean im good with graphite i would have done it like that anyway but. yeah. anyway this was abt the height of my beginning hatoful fix and Also indirectly what got me to meet like a bunch of my mutuals here!! i did. not know there was a hatoful community. and because That i actually started using tumblr so!! hey thanks hitori. i need to do more birdform art.

this motherfucker! ill be. completely honest i dont have a lot of feedback for a lot of my graphite art bc ive Been doing this. ok actually yknow what i will say. there is a limit for how dark something can be with graphite and i Very much remember going over the inside of the cloak So Much. this was my pet project during my weekly 3 hour long lecture so god bless it. also i do still like how i did the eye. can i draw eye guys exclusively please.

this one was a trade for my friend raicatty and. also something i probably should have scanned. but its fine. anyway this one did teach me something and its To Line Your Damn Pieces Darker. lining with the color that youre going to be coloring in is kind of Asking For Disaster if it overlaps with others and u can. see that. this is a bit imparseable. but its also pretty. and thats all that really matters. a fun fact for when i ever do commissions is that being allowed to use this purpley pink pencil i have will make me really happy. its so pretty.

things i learned from this one! 1. the scanner did not pick up the red lines very well! 2. scanners are good! 3: NEVER do a full page project again! buuut i do want to say i am like. insanely proud of this one. its the first art ive done i can really say has any sort of Composition and im so delighted that it turned out just as cool as it looked in my head. also this took forever and i could have easily messed it up Multiple times in the process. so god bless.

Twiz Lore Part 5 A-Side
Part 5 from Twiz's POV. Long post under the cut. Content warnings in tags
Last time... On Twiz Lore:
Shit happened. Twiz had to hide a person from their death. And then got emotionally stunlocked by her childhood friend's villain speech. Topped off with him going "welp better kill that girl i was replacing you with!" It's fucked.
Well. Now Twiz has to go follow Viltas, while he yoinks Alicia for the execution... He gets to her room. Opens the door. Looks around... where the hell is she?
Twiz goes "Well, Vil. I dunno. Check the closet?" Nope. Not in the closet.
"Try... Under the bed?" Not there either...
"Well, dang! I would've hid there, myself... How about-- oh! Maybe in that box?" Mmmmnope not there.
Eventually, Vil tears apart the entire room, with the help of some elite guards. No sign of Alicia...
"Huh, she must be crafty! How about under the floorboards? I'd hide there if I were here for long enough." ...They tear apart the floorboards. Still no Alicia.
"Shit... I'm stumped. Uh... The walls? I mean, it's not very likely, but..." Holy shit they're tearing apart the walls now. The guards are questioning if this "Alicia" is even real. Vil is questioning if Alicia was even real. Twiz is having a hard time holding back her laughter, despite helping the guards in this pointless endeavor.
...is this ethical gaslighting? I mean, at no point did Twiz deny Alicia's existence. She's just denying that she knows where Alicia is, to stall for time. The more time the guards spend on tearing apart a room that Alicia isn't in, the longer Alicia has to find help...
"Well, I'm fresh out of ideas. Maybe... she went to hide in a different room, in the castle? She couldn't have gone too far, right?" Twiz is really pushing her luck with this... It's 9 PM, for fuck's sake! Let your captors rest! ...Or don't. I mean, it would be easier to escape from a prison if the guards were completely exhausted...
...Viltas realizes the pointlessness of all this. Welp. Guess everyone's going to bed, including Twiz. Luckily, not in the room they'd just tore apart. That room apparently wasn't even for Twiz, in the first place! So now Twiz gets to take a snooze in a shiny new room, made just for her! And she gets free tea, to boot! (Twiz doesn't know what tea tastes like)
...Her room's right next to Vil's room. And both are heavily guarded. And before Twiz can finally go into her fancy new room, Vil leans in uncomfortably close, and whispers to her:
"I knew you were stalling for time, back there. Did you have fun~?"
Oh Twiz, we're really in for it now--
He doesn't sound too upset about it, though. He just... chuckles to himself, softly. Is this a joke to him?
"I knew what I was getting into, with you... But, don't worry. I had fun, myself. I'll be sure to.. keep up with you, moving forward."
Oh gods, this is a joke to him. This... asshole kidnaps someone, and treats it like the opening to a prank war. Violent thoughts flood Twiz's head. If it weren't for the laws of the land--
oh for fuck's sake he's walking away. Damn it. Twiz missed her chance to maul this bastard. Well, at least there's still that free tea. And hey! Maybe the bed's comfy. She gets her own, after all! So, Twiz has a sip of the tea. It's... incredibly sweet... How much sugar did they put in this stuff, anyways? Twiz could get used to drinking this, if it's always this sugary... She chugs the rest, manners be damned. Alright! Bedtime!
Hey, by the way, did you know that having a lot of sugar before bed can cause nightmares? Twiz didn't! It's 3 AM, and Twiz is awoken from the nightmare Hellscape by... her cat? That's definitely her cat. Twiz's cat named Sprinkles. The cat Viltas yoinked. And he's been meowing at her. Sprinkles ceases the meowing once he realizes Twiz isn't dead.
Wait. It's 3 AM. The perfect time to sneak around...! Sprinkles, you magnificent fluffy himbo.
Unfortunately I don't know what Tumblr's post length limit is, and I don't wanna find out anytime soon. I will post B-Side of Part 5 when it's done, though! Stay tuned? I guess?

Take a Taste: with Minute Burger Beef Shawarma Burger [Feb 15th, 2023]
Hello! It’s time for another “Take a Taste”! The series is about delicious food with my two paper dolls.
And today, I'm reviewing the Minute Burger's Beef Shawarma Burger! Mmmmm! 🥩🌯🍔😋 Will it taste like "Shawarma"? Let's find out! 🤔

• This is my 2nd time attempting to try the burgers from the aforementioned "Minute Burger", and my paper dolls are curious to see what's inside... 🤔

• [3rd Image] Whoa! A single burger! Yeah, it used to be two burgers. But, SPOILER ALERT! I've already eaten one! Hehe! 😅 But hey, at least we could share the single burger, right? 😊
• Nonetheless, here's what "Beef Shawarma Burger" looks like. It might look normal, but unlike the normal "minute burgers", the patty itself is thick & juicy! Mmmmm... 😊
• [4th Image] Also, let's not forget their sauce which is unamused, but I'll sled it by. Anyways, let's take a bite, shall we? 😁

• [9th & 10th Images] Here's my second bite. Not much to say about their thick patty appearance, but the actual shawarma taste never disappoint my taste buds, Including my paper dolls!😋
Overall:
• Damn, that was a GOOD BURGER! 🍔😁 I would definitely gonna order it on my own because this was gifted from my parents. I mean, one burger wasn't enough for us, and I'd already eaten one before. So overall, this could be the best hamburger offered by the folks of "Minute Burger" I've ever had. So much so, I'll go another round & RE-review it, one more time before they disappear, in the future. (I'm sure, it would NOT happen 🤞🤞) 💵🍔🍔😋

Why Mastodon Sucks #3: It's not a Blog & It's not a Forum, It's a Group Chat / Reddit Clone
If you've tried posting stuff on mastodon and got no replies, no interaction, or anything at all, don't worry, it's not you, it's mastodon, and it's not a bug, it's a "feature".
What's happening is that nobody is seeing your mastodon posts AT ALL.
Why is nobody seeing them if you're posting it? Because in order for someone to see your post on mastodon, one of the following must be true:
They're looking at your profile.
They follow you.
They follow someone that boosted that one specific post.
They follow a hashtag that you used in your post.
They searched for a hashtag that you used in your post.
By chance they were browsing the newest posts of the instance just when you posted.
You can't count on 6 for anything, so let's ignore it.
Everyone starts without followers, so 2 isn't going to happen. If nobody sees your post nobody can boost your post or see your profile, so 1 and 3 are out as well.
This means that if you're new to mastodon, the only way for people to SEE your post is by using hashtags.
And you have to use a hashtag in every single post you want people to see. A post without hashtag reaches ONLY your followers (and their followers if they boost it).
I mean this because in some mastodon instances you can't search posts by text, you can only search ONE hashtag in the default web interface (you can search more if you enable the advanced interface but it's a mess). So you can't search for "one piece" to find one piece, you have to use the hashtag one piece and they have to use the hashtag one piece, and only then you can find each other.
So hashtag means JOINING A CONVERSATION. You need the one piece hashtag to join a conversation about one piece. Without it, you're talking to your followers (or no one).
It doesn't matter how much you talk about one piece, or how high quality your one piece fan art looks, or if you're literally the creator of one piece himself, if you don't tag your post one piece, nobody who wants to talk about one piece will know about it!
As tumblr is a site that's all about hashtags I guess you would know how much of a bad idea it is to require that two people use the exact same spelling of a hashtag to see each other posts.
This makes sense for brands like #twitter because there's only one name: twitter. Can't miss that. But for pretty much every fucking topic in the entire damn planet there's 5 6 different words for it. How many times people have tried joining a subreddit only to find out a subreddit whose name is only a slightly different spelling of that one is the popular one they wanted?
So using a hashtag in a post is like creating a thread in a subreddit, except you can't get banned from a hashtag the way you can get banned from a subreddit. Following a hashtag is just like subscribing to a subreddit too.
But you know what's not like reddit? Mastodon.
Because mastodon has character limits. In the most popular instance, it's 500 characters, which means if you want to include many hashtags and you're going to go through the effort of typing them out that will quickly use up all your characters. This also means all replies end up looking like twitter threads. It's really the worst of two worlds.
On top of that, replies are hidden within posts and mastodon doesn't even want to show a number of how many replies something has. Imagine reddit didn't show you how many comments each thread had. You want to join a conversation, but you don't know where a conversation is even happening. And it's insane to blame this on modern social media addiction because even the oldest forums told you how many replies a thread had.
Is tumblr better?
Absolutely. In two ways.
First, you can have SPACES in your hashtags. You don't tag one piece onepiece, you tag it ONE SPACE PIECE the way God intended! And it's not even in the text of the post, it's out of the main body. For how important hashtags are in mastodon, they surely have learned nothing from the leading website about hashtags.
Second, a tumblr is a blog, not a chat. I think this may be the most important thing and the top reason why mastodon sucks so much. People who write blogs, who "shout into the void" ultimately yearn that their voices are heard by someone one day. It's like writing a book. You're happy someone reads it. Finding something someone wrote 15 years ago on the internet is also a delight. There's no inflammatory sharing of text out of context to get followers on pitch forks or anything like that. We just feel connected by reading other people's thoughts.
Mastodon thinks this "internet book" is not a book you want others to read. It's a diary and it's private and people have to jump through hoops to find even a page. But it's also... on the internet? And with federation it's actually much harder to lose control of the book than with a centralized platform like tumblr because once you post something it gets copied to other servers across the globe controlled by people you don't even know about.
With this perspective it's not a book you just "write your thoughts into it." But it's based on the microBLOGGING platform twitter where people just wrote their thoughts on it. How come?
Connecting these dots together, there's no way this "social media" works in any traditional leisure form. My guess is mastodon is great for people in INDUSTRIES specially tech ones to talk about professional topics with each other and network by hashtag, because for pretty much everything else it feels off.
But what if you just followed people instead of using hashtags?
If you're the sort of person that shouts into the void, you want a post about THING to be found because it's about THING, but you don't want followers because you just post every stupid thing you think of like "why mastodon sucks" and so there's really no reason for anyone to follow you and your haphazard stream of consciousness.
If I regularly post about anime and people followed me because of that, that would suck when I start posting about something else because then my thoughts they may not care about end up in their feeds and nobody wants that to happen.

I see your point. For me the second pause was the best since I like the colors and designs the best not to mention there the most attractive in that artsyle but I Don’t like that people are being so vicious the new resigns though. I get it you don’t like the redesigns as much but they acting like the artstyle looked like the first look of Sonic in the Sonic movie trailer. Nice nice.

Trust me I got experience online on people harassing me why I didn’t give certain social medias information to them when they asked and I explained why. Trust me you made a good suggestion. Oh I know! I'm honestly so surprised that there was such an uproar that they felt the need to change Nick's design. I really liked all their designs as they were. I don't get where the rude ass comments are coming from.
Ugh I get that. If I don't understand anything I don't ask my professor unless I HAVE to. Cause I feel like they are looking like I'm stupid.
I can't help but apologize because I feel bad when others are affected by my actions. I try not to let my real life reflect on my blog because I want it to be somewhere that everyone feels welcome.
Okay just making sure, and I get it that's why I hide behind my main oc's name. I used to use my name, but that didn't turn out well so I don't do that anymore. Lol it's always interesting to hear the stories my mom is willing to share about her experience in the medical field. Maybe one day I can share a couple with you.
It has been difficult. I've known this group since elementary. So now I'm lost and unable to make friends that are better for me. Doesn't help that some of them can't take a hint and won't leave me alone. Oh! You don't have to notify me if you don't want to. I can patiently wait for you. HIGHLIGHT TRANSLATION OF THE SPANISH DUB ACTOR GUILLERMO ROJAS
Guillermo Rojas - Spanish Dubbing actor for Dean since season 12 until 15x18 (he contracted Covid and was unable to record 15x19 or 15x20 - he has yet to record those)
INTERVIEWER: “Memo (nickname for Guillermo), I am not sure if you knew, but you broke the internet”
MEMO: “Yes, a lot of people sought me out when this happened. I am so sorry I wasn’t able to answer at length all of your questions, but I was right in the middle of dealing with Covid. I couldn’t speak without feeling like I was drowning. Right now I am going to (voice) therapy. While it is not too dreary, there are 2 continued effects, so I couldn’t answer everyone who contacted me through various ways - through FB, instagram and an old youtube channel that I haven’t used in years - with respect to the situation that occurred between Dean and his friend (Cas).
MEMO: “We try to follow (our lines) in what we see of the acting. Remember that dubbing is something where we must make a parallel alignment in our own language. Under the guidelines given to us by the client, we try to expand on all possibilities and all the alignments and - as actors - they permit us to give 100% of ourselves. So there isn’t a limit per se, so long as you don’t go off track (from what was requested from the client)”
INTERVIEWER: “What were the guidelines for the line that broke the internet”
MEMO: “It’s curious because neither the director nor us the actors knew much about the tendency that existed. Because we didn’t have much previous information that suggested that something like this would happen. To be honest when we recorded it, we were asking wait what’s happening? I mean we did it, but no one knew this was coming neither in the production studio nor amongst the actors.”
INTERVIEWER “I need to ask for a clarification here. I mean we are talking about the love declaration Cas made to Dean after 12 years of intense eye-contact. But the big question is Dean’s answer. Because EVERYONE heard in your voice that clear “And I you, Cas”
MEMO “And I you, yes.”
INTERVIEWER “Where does that “And I you” come from? Was it you? What happened there?”
“The adaptation came entirely from my director (Adrian Fogarty). He adapted it and gave us our acting guidelines, and I performed accordingly - I gave what he asked of me. We all loved it. We never saw it coming so overtly.... If you remember across all seasons, we rarely see Dean get involved with any women. It just didn’t happen, unlike his brother. He just never got involved. It wasn’t his thing, especially because we have his brother to compare him to. We saw (Sam) in a relationship in the past 2 seasons with Eileen which was a very intense relationship, and very painful in the end. Dean never had to suffer through that. They tied Dean’s pain to the loss of his mother since he lost her more than once.”
FB question: “So It wasn’t a rogue translator, it was a rogue director”
MEMO: “Look, Fogarty has some really intense abilities and one of them is to adapt the dialogue. When you see him translate a script, when he has the time to do it - even when he is not the one directing - and he leaves it in Spanish. The dialogue said, if I remember correctly, “me too” or something like that and then we switched it to “and I you” due to effects of lip movement, rhythm, etc... We don’t all have the ability that Fogarty has, that speed which he has, to think and translate immediately. We are a team and we work together, and pool our collective abilities, and of course Fogarty does his part. You need a Fogarty in every company.”
(The interviewer mentioned that her cat hates Sam Winchester and loves dubbed Dean’s voice).
INTERVIEWER “Do you know what Dean said in the original script before Fogarty got his hands on it?”
“Yes, of course. It made allusions to that. (Fogarty) made the right translation. It said and so do I or me too or something like that. It said it in the (original) script.”
INTERVIEWER: “When you heard the english version while you recorded yours, did you hear Dean say I love you too?”
MEMO: “No. If I would have, I would have taken the earphone out and gone what the fuck? *laughs*”
INTERVIEWER: “What was your favorite episode to film?”
MEMO: “With my short-term memory, I would say this last one (15x18), because it says so much. In one scene, it says it all. It was impressive, and so beautiful. I never saw it coming.”
Interviewer “Well you have broken tumblr again.”
MEMO: “Okay *Laughs*. Well, that’s good. Thank you very much.”
MEMO: “I think it’s clear to everyone that the fact that he (fogarty?) broke the internet, with this information was a surprise for everyone. Absolutely everyone. Because we all say that if someone wants to be a “real man” we have to be like Dean. In fact it’s something very beautiful for me because it has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with feelings. It was a play by the writers that was marvelous. You didn’t see it coming, but damn do you like it.”
MEMO: “Nothing was left out of the translation... No I was not called to re-record the “and I you”. I have not been asked to remake the dubbing. My director perfectly understood the texture of the text.”
INTERVIEWER “Do you know if Supernatural has a quality review for the dubbing through Warner Bros?”
MEMO: “I would be lying to you if I said yes, but I have been working for WB (LatAM) for many years as both an actor and director. And there is some specific material where they do have “filters”, but with something like supernatural I doubt it. I would assume the one left in charge of all decisions was our director (Fogarty).”
INTERVIEWER “Have you been interpreting Dean as in love with Castiel this entire time or was it a surprise for you?”
MEMO: “No, never, it was a surprise. In fact, to be entirely honest, to my closest friends - of the same gender - I do use the phrase “te amo”. I don’t have any issues with that. So I actually thought it went that way - but then I found out it was romantic.”
INTERVIEWER: “Guillermo, what is your opinion, of destiel now that you know the nature of their relationship.”
“Well it was a revelation for everyone - including me. I love how they handled it because we didn’t see it coming. And I think, of our understanding of the character’s traits and psychology, we know that if someone knows how to repress their feelings, it’s Dean Winchester. *laughs*”
INTERVIEWER: “What would you say to Cas if he came back from the empty?”
MEMO: “He came back?! (he hasn’t seen 15x19 or x20)
INTERVIEWER: “No I am saying what would he say IF he did”
MEMO: “Oh, okay. I was under the assumption that I said I loved him so long as he wasn’t planning on coming back! *laughs* Well if he returns I guess I would say “Hello, Cas”.
INTERVIEWER: *Tells MEMO about the not for nothing cas but the last person who looked at me like that I got laid”
MEMO: OKAAAAY *laughs* That was too much. *laughs*
INTERVIEWER: Would you be this fandom’s Godfather?
MEMO: But of course *smiles* This was a big thing, from what I see.
INTERVIEWER: “What message would you give to the fans who are descovering the spanish dub?”
“first, thanks a lot of being part of the mexican dubbing. We do this job with all the heart and all the passion that we have. And I think I speak for all involved in this industry. We are glad to note that there are so many people from other countries that are watching these new projects in another language. So I have no words but thanks a lot.”
INTERVIWER: “What would be your ideal ending for Dean Winchester”
MEMO “I think, for all of them, they have sacrificed their lives and that of their loved ones for the safety and well being of everyone else. I think if anyone deserves to be well, happy, and calm, at least it’s those three (Sam, Cas, and Dean).”
INTERVIEWER: “What about jack?”
MEMO “Jack did attach himself to them, but I think he could find happiness in another nest.” *laughs*

Shocked when copyright holders are tightening the language around their copyright so suddenly everyone understands just how many things that copyright includes. Absolutely shocked and completely surprised.
Oh wait, actually none of this is new. It’s just being made more explicit so people don’t build a whole website around selling Elvish translations and then are surprised when the TE drags them to court about it.
So folks don’t put Tolkien’s art, maps or entire books on the web so people can download them.
So companies don’t buy Tolkien-related domains for the sole purpose of selling them on to the highest bidder, hoping to cash in on the latest adaptation. (And I honestly can’t believe that people here on Tumblr think that some sort of shady business wouldn’t open a “Tolkienworld” theme park in a blink if they didn’t have to fear the TE slapping their fingers. Y’all know this would happen and you’d hate it.)
The point is not that they’re planning to crack down on every single fanficcer cheerfully sharing their fanfic anymore than they previously did. It’s not about dragging everyone who translates a line into Quenya or transcribes someone’s name in Tengwar to Angband and back. It’s specifically about having worded it in such a way that it is plain, easily understood without having studied Legalese(TM), and pretty much covers their base whenever they decide that they need to crack down on something. (Which might as well be some white supremacist assholes trying to use Tolkien quotes for their purposes. Just saying.)
You have always had to ask permission for public live readings. You’ve always needed to stay within certain limits concerning quotation, even in a scholarly context, and in a commercial context you’ve always needed permission. None of this is new. Stop monster-shouting and chill down. (And stop asking money for your fanart or translations or, good grief, fanfic.)
The TE haven’t “gone crazy”. They haven’t “lost their minds”. They have decades of experience with people disregarding their copyright, either because these people didn’t give a damn or - and this is the relevant bit - because they thought they’d found a loophole. The TE are trying to make the language on their website as painfully self-explanatory as they can so they can avoid some of these lawsuits in the future.
#i mean you can have issues with copyright law#but in that case you need to yell at every single copyright holder#and the legislative parties involved#not at the tolkien estate in particular#y'know if some racist dudebro fanclub made a page full of tolkien quotes and maps and the te took that down#y'all would be the first to cheer#heck i suspect a lot of you would be thrilled if the te cracked down on amazon for using some artwork without permission or somesuch#just for the principle of it#so chill down and stick to the facts#instead of blowing this out of proportion#ffs#gratuitious tolkien reference
