— basics
▸ is your muse tall/short/average?
Aur is 5′8 which is of average height.
▸ are they okay with their height?
He currently doesn’t have many thoughts on it. When he had his memories though he did imagine he would seem more imposing and “royal-like” if he were taller but eh what can he do about it.
▸ what’s their hair like?
The base color is a gold, and when glamoured it falls straight and obedient down to his waist. When it’s unglamoured is when the real fun part begins, his hair becomes more wild and unruly, like a mane that shifts as if ruffled by a perpetual breeze and instead falls to nearly brush the ground. The gold becomes more eye-catching, glimmering more vividly with pale green streaks running down through it until the color overtakes the gold at the ends in an ombre coloring.
▸ do they spend a lot of time on their hair/with their grooming?
Not an excessive amount still. He has servants and things to ensure he looks at least befitting his station as king, but there’s only so many hours in the day to see to his duties and he’d rather not spend a large portion of them just on getting dressed.
▸ does your muse care about their appearance?
To the extent to make sure he looks clean, put together, and not slovenly. He wouldn’t panic if a hair is out of place or anything of that nature, so once again his main concern is making sure that he looks presentable and that’s about it.
▸ does your muse care about what others think about them?
Ugh, that’s complicated. Yes and no. He has somewhat low self-esteem about how he presents and his ability to interact with other people but it’s hard to outright say he massively cares what other people think of him. As a prince he still did his own thing while knowing others probably thought him odd or ill-fitting his title as crown prince. There’s less pressure and baggage on him currently since he has no memories of his title and past to weigh him down so it’s not as bad but still there. And of course, if he cares about a person than he most definitely cares what they think about him
As a king now, he of course takes interest as far as to how it affects his duties to his people. It’s important not to be outright hated by his gentry of course, which is still a balancing act he’s learning to master. By nature of his job and of some of his subjects, he will have to do things they personally don’t like or disagree with. Being the king and all though, he has some weight he can pull despite their disapproval, but it can only go so far.
As for those who aren’t his subjects, he cares like a smidge less? He tries to avoid coming off as a threat that war should be declared against or anything like that, but he’s tried to be pleasant to rulers and he’s tried putting his foot down against others (generally while acting in the way he thinks best for Seelie’s interests) and the result has to him been the same-- him disliked and/or looked down on in one way or other. So Aur has basically come to the decision “damned if you do, damned if you don’t.” He won’t act antagonistic unless given reason to, and he’ll still be polite of course if the situation calls for it, but he’s starting to care way less now about bending over backwards for others.
It’s all...very exhausting to him though.

▸ what are some of your muse’s bad habits?
He’s a negative nancy, tends to jump to the worst conclusions and so it ends up hard for him to shake those thoughts. It’s what happened over the period of his life before his lost memories that led to him engineering his own disappearance, thinking that it would be what was best for everyone involved. As a king it’s what’s led to him also not thinking to rely on some of his gentry for aid for so long. I mean...that and the whole assassin in his court thing. His low self-esteem has kind of gotten worse actually since becoming king, since it’s hard not to compare yourself to the rulers all around you who seem to be doing a much better job of it in every aspect. Whereas every meeting with the Council feels like pulling teeth and he knows the way in which many of his gentry count him out because of his newness to the role and the unorthodox changes he has implemented. I guess it’s just hard to feel like you’re doing good at your job when it seems like everywhere you turn has someone telling you the ways in which you’re screwing it up.
He also has difficulty growing close to people and more often than not keeps his true thoughts about matters to himself. This also ties into the difficulty he has with relying on others, he has a bad habit of shouldering things by himself and not asking for help since he was used to being alone since he was young after his mom was killed.
▸ has your muse lost anyone close to them? how has it affected them?
His mother. She died to an assassin’s blade when he was younger, though he saw none of it. Which in its own way is a special brand of painful. There one moment totally fine and then suddenly gone forever. She was the person he was closest too though and with her death he retreated a lot to the prince that he became. He was close to no one and that retreat extended to his own family, him being so lost in his grief that his younger sister ended up just as alone and abandoned by him. Likewise, the two siblings’ father, the king, grew more distant and also overprotective towards his children. So distant that Aur surmised that both him and his sister, being spitting images of their mother, reminded their grieving father too much of her. So basically a whole lot of pain and retreating inside themselves.
His father now as well with the king being assassinated the very night that Aur returned home. Aur basically thinks of their lost relationship as “what could have been”. What could have happened if the king had been there for his children in the wake of the queen’s death? What could have been salvaged? It hurts the most that he got the briefest of glimpses of that life when he returned home and his father greeted him warmly, a little like how he had been before the queen died. Aur has a lot of complicated feelings towards his dad, his abandonment of his children, and the ways in which they’re screwed up now because of it, but that’s a post for another day.
And lastly, though she isn’t dead, his younger sister Tara, currently banished to the mortal plane after her original plan before Aur’s disappearance to have him assassinated. Aur holds himself just as accountable for how he himself failed Tara after their mother died as he holds their dad accountable for failing them. He regrets not being there for her who was so much younger than him when it happened and who would grow up barely able to remember their mother. This current banishment is actually a kinda misguided attempt from Aur to help Tara out, not that she knows that.
▸ what are some fond memories your muse has?
Anything with his mother. She used to sneak away with him to the mortal realm and show him al of the interesting and beautiful things within it. She was a vibrant, happy woman and so being by her was a great comfort to him. He now also holds close the memory of his dad the night that he returned home, where the man was smiling and actually looking at him again.
▸ is it easy for your muse to kill?
Not previously, but his years away and his father’s death with him nearly dying from poison upon his return to Seelie has changed that. If it’s for the protection of him and his land and he believes it is necessary, then he won’t hesitate anymore. It won’t be his first resort though if he can see some other way or method around bloodshed.
▸ what’s it like when your muse breaks down?
Hahaha, he’s gotten so much worse since his amnesiac days pre-return home. Maybe one day we’ll see a full on break-down <3
▸ is your muse capable of trusting someone with their life?
The million dollar question... Currently? No. Some work is being made towards trusting people in general more, but we’ll see where that goes.
▸ what’s your muse like when they’re in love?
Peak romance, right out of a period piece that makes his partner swoon. Romantic gestures, flowers, words of adoration, he’s a big sap once he gets to that point.
