Hiii you draw very cool :)
I was wondering... what program do you use?
Helloooo! I use procreate (exclusive to apple unfortunately, but my 6 year old iPad Pro is still chugging bless her soul)! It doesn’t have as many features as smth like photoshop, clip studio, and their dupes, but it’s super portable and easy to use and you pay $10 USD for it ONCE and never again. I appreciate the company so much for saying no to subscription models lol

Never thought I'd get weepy over a software presentation keynote and yet, here we are
So for those of you who don't know, I use ProCreate. It's the only art program I've touched in at least five years, and aside from brief stints in my sketchbook, I've done everything in it. The animations I've done last year and this year were all done in ProCreate, which is strictly a drawing and photo editing software and animation was kind of built in as an afterthought. As such, the animation capabilities of ProCreate are kind of... nonexistent. Clunky at best, and I had no way to add sound. And because of how ProCreate's animation worked, I couldn't do long or particularly complex animation. Which is fine, like, I'm still learning how to animate in the first place. But we really are limited by the capabilities of our tools, and as much as I love ProCreate for static art, it left a ton to be desired in the animation department.
But the team that made ProCreate just announced they've made animation software. Not "are making," have made. And it's robust. It covers everything a full animation studio would do with multiple different softwares, all in one app. I can't even begin to say how excited I am for this. And it's only $20, where equally powerful—or hell, even less powerful—desktop animation software would easily cost $500 or more.
I'm so excited! I'll finally be able to follow along in a ton of the animation lessons I own! I couldn't do that before, because of ProCreate's limitations. Mostly the lack of animation timeline and I couldn't add sound—you know, the two most vital aspects of animation. But now I'll be able to! I just have to be patient until the end of November and fork over $20. And then? Then I'll be unstoppable.
I'm gonna conquer the fucking world, y'all.

Just heard about Procreate dreams and I’m so excited that I fear I won’t be normal until it comes out Nov 22nd 😭
For those who don’t know, Procreate offers some animation features but this is a whole app dedicated to animation. It looks extremely intuitive and I’m going to be using it immediately 🥳💕💕💕 AND ITS ONLY $20 NO SUBSCRIPTION AAAAAAAAA✨✨✨

Are you excited that Procreate’s going to get its own animation app soon? As someone who’s an iPad user, it makes me so happy that we finally have a proper animation app to use now! We’re going be getting a lot of new animators soon and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Dude I'm EXCTATIC!!!
Although I'm probably not gonna get it because my iPad is from the pre-new-chip-processor era so it probably won't be supported on my device, plus I already have animation programs, but I'm so glad they are making a proper animation software accessible both financially and hardware-wise. Procreate is also a company I'm loyal to for their outspoken anti-AI practices ✨

I have a lot of thoughts about the PROCREATE DREAMS announcement
No, ok, I gotta talk about this now because no one else in my specific tumblr bubble is and I’m actually really so so excited for this because this is an actual absolute game changer for the indie animation scene and beginner animators. So I’m gonna do what I never did before on this blog and write an actual real blog entry here.
At the 8th of September, the people behind the IOS drawing and Illustration app Procreate announced a completely new app focusing on motion design and animation. The announcement trailer and the event of the announcement can be found here:
youtube
Fellow artist that use Procreate know about the incredible advancement this app made in the illustration and design field by its insanely powerful tools yet Apple-typical simplicity. One thing this app has down to a tee is it’s intuitiveness. Even complete beginner digital artists will find their way around the app quite easily after only a few hours with it. Of course it doesn’t make you a pro artist over night but it gives you fast-to-learn tools to help you on your artistic journey without any hidden fees, account signups or AI systems needed.
Procreate Dreams follows the same approach, giving simple intuitive tools to everyone, not just industry veterans. The app has been announced to launch on the App Store on 22th of November and only cost 20$ in a one-time purchase. This may seem like a usual tech announcement but I want to clarify what this company has just done by creating this app.
If Procreate Dreams turns out to follow its predecessors footsteps in terms of simplicity, richness in features and intuitiveness (and from the looks of it, it will) and continue their user-friendly pricing model, this app will single-handedly change the indie animation scene completely.
Giving tools to everyone to a fair price for them to explore their creativity is not industry standard anymore. Procreate is currently one of the only players on the market that offers such an advanced experience for basically the price of a thrift shop T-Shirt. Everytime I tell someone new to digital art about Procreate and the one-time payment at such a low price too, they will simply not believe me. They expect hidden fees, a subscription model. It’s unthinkable to them that a professional art app would be offered to the consumer in such a way.
So please keep in mind that this is not the norm. This app will inspire a whole new generation of animators and artist and that for the low price of 20$. Even the professional animation industry will be shifted by this. This is a big deal just as the arrival of Procreate was a big deal.
A test and overview of the new and advanced features of Procreate Dreams can be found here:

PROCREATE ANOUNCES A NEW ANIMATION APP COMING IN NOVEMBER!!!!!
I cannot express how excited I am!
THIS IS HUGE!!!!!!
Listen, I love Moho Animation... But it's for vector animations and puppets, it's not my go to for frame by frame handrawn animation. Despite trying so many programs procreate is still my go to for that, but it's not the best and I could never blame it cause it's not an animation program it just somehow was still the best animation program?
BUT NOW THERE'S GONNA BE AN ACTUAL PROCREATE ANIMATION PROGRAM!!!!!!
Why can't it be out now? November feels so far away D:
But I'm so excited!
Procreate Dreams, I cannot wait!
(ps: this does not mean I'll be stopping my imitations of tts style animation, that's puppet animation, that's a whole different animations style I still want to learn. I'm not leaving it for frame by frame. It's like when you're excited new watercolors are coming, doesn't mean the alcohol markers will be neglected, different stuff!)

My first foray into procreate dreams, following Alex Griggs tutorial which was a life saver because I tried it on my own and nothing made sense. There’s so many possibilities in this app that fix things I’ve been wanting to do with animation so that’s very exciting. Will say getting this to gif format took a bit of fighting but we got there! Apparently they’re adding that in in the future updates so fingers crossed 🤞

Hii Chy, I wanna ask since Christmas is coming up: What drawing software do you use/do you recommend? I use Krita, but would love to use something different.
And any plans for the festivities? I know Scratch would love a surprise gingerbread house 🤩
Hello! I use Procreate since it was the first drawing app I discovered when I was testing out tablets in the store years ago, so I have a soft spot for it. I recommend it! Procreate is also getting an animation maker soon too so I’m excited about that!
The only downside is that sometimes when resizing a image it either pixelate or blurs the drawing at times randomly. And depending on the size of your canvas you get limited layers (which I’m sure other drawing apps probably have this too, idk, this is just an main annoyance to me really).
For festivities, I’m a sucker for driving around looking at Christmas lights, so I’m excited to see those set up around my town soon. Also just making holidays treats this time of the year. Also I live is a small town that has a BIG Christmas/Holiday market every year, which is always fun!
The idea of making a Gingerbread house with Scratch would involve constantly trying to stop him from eating the house and little decorative sweets before it’s finished lol!!

I have finished my first animation in Procreate Dreams! I wanted to do something very simple first before doing anything big. This isn’t perfect, but I’m really happy with how it came out! 😸
I also did this without following any tutorials because I wanted to jump headfirst into figuring out how Procreate Dreams works because I thought it would be fun doing it that way. 😺 It was indeed very fun (and a little frustrating since there’s things that confuse me and some bugs🙃) It was very fun learning how it works! I’m very impressed with how much I can do on Procreate Dreams and so excited to make more animations using it!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

These little drawings are from me trying it out for the first time. 😺 I still remember how blown away I was when trying this app out. 🥺

Procreate dreams seem like it'll be so good, I have it, and for what it's worth, version 1 isn't even as bad as everyone makes it out to be. There's obviously learning curves (but as most editing/animating apps do), and yeah, there are some things where I gripe about it. However, I guarantee they'll update it asap to have those features everyone gripes on. This is gonna be ae and a great animating app. I feel it. It makes me so excited to know the potential it has. The fact it's actually pretty user-friendly and interesting already is so nice!!
