Would you mind if I asked for the recipe for your famous lavender cake?
Hi :D
Still not sure how you found out about the lavender cake (probably my tags on something) but I shall answer your ask - fair warning though, I'm too lazy to convert much of the measurements into Imperial, so much of it will be metric. Convert at your own risk ;)
The Cake TM:
6 eggs 1 teaspoon of lemon extract (+ the zest of one lemon) 220g sugar 280g flour (all-purpose) 2 teaspoons of baking soda A sprinkle of salt
Split the eggs and beat them until they are firm (don't overbeat) and then slowly pour the sugar into the mixture to make a meringue (which you cannot overbeat thank god).
Once this is done slowly pour one egg yolk at a time into the mixture - then shift the flour, baking soda, and lemon zest into the mixture and gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until they are combined - but only just.
You don't want to overmix.
Really.
Line the bottom of a 9 or 10 inch baking pan with baking sheets, but DON'T butter the sides. Bake at 175-180 °C (375F) for about 45 minutes or until it survives the poke test. Let cool slightly and cut in as many layers as you like. (i usually do three layers)
The Buttercream:
500ml whole milk 1 pinch vanilla extract 2 bags of vanilla custard powder 100g caster sugar 1 egg yolk 500g softened butter 10 drops lavender extract a few branches fresh lavender (optional)
Heat 450ml of the milk in a pan, mixed with the vanilla and lavender extract. In a seperate bowl mix the custard powder with the rest of the milk, the egg yolk and the sugar until well combined.
Once the milk comes to a boil, quickly mix in the custard/egg mixture. Mix well. Let it simmer for about a minute, but don't stop mixing for even a second. Take it off the heat.
Put the finished pudding into a deep bowl, cover with clingfilm, and let cool.
(optional) Wash and dry the fresh lavender before chopping it finely and mixing it into the butter.
IMPORTANT butter and custard/pudding need to be the same temperature for this next bit. Once the pudding has cooled to room temperature, slowly whisk pieces of butter into the mix until everything is well combined.
Try the creme to see if you like the amount of lavender - if not, add more lavender extract.
The Ganash:
200g white chocolate 80ml heavy cream 1 tbsp butter a few drops lavender extract
chop white chocolate until its small and even.
bring butter/heavy cream mix to a simmer and add lavender extract - DO NOT BOIL
once the heavy cream is hot enough, gently pour it over the chopped white chocolate.
Wait a minute and start mixing - don't stop until its smooth and uniform.
set aside
Other:
lemon curd / good lemon jam simple syrup
Assembly:
place bottom layer of cake on a plate, add one or two tablespoons of simple syrup onto the cake before spooning a third of the jam/curd onto the cake. Spread evenly. Now add a third of the buttercream - spread evenly.
Repeat with the second layer.
Add the top layer of the cake and crumb-coat the cake with the rest of the buttercream. Put it in the freezer for 30mins to chill.
Prepare the ganash - if it's too solid, gently warm it back up my placing it in a microwave in 10 sec increments.
Place the cake on a cake rack and slowly pour the ganash over the cake, starting in the middle and only slowly working your way to the edges.
Decorate and enjoy!

Eggnog Brulee Pie
This Eggnog Brulee Pie is an irresistible twist on a classic: combining rich, decadent eggnog into a custard-based pie that tastes like creme brulee! So easy and delightful! Prep Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 35 mins Total Time: 45 mins Servings: 8 -10
Ingredients
One 9" frozen deep dish pie crust at room temperature
4 Tablespoons cornstarch
3/4 cup granulated white sugar
4 Tablespoons butter melted
2¼ cups full-fat eggnog
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
For the Topping:
4 Tablespoons butter melted
1/3 cup granulated sugar + 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon mixed together
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place the frozen pie crust (in its pan) on top. The rimmed baking sheet will catch any drips.
Prick small holes with the tines of a fork on the bottom and sides of the pie crust; this will help from creating air bubbles. Likewise, you may also fill the pie crust with pie weights to weigh it down during baking.
Bake the crust for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven but keep the oven on.
While crust bakes, prepare your filling. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cornstarch and granulated sugar until no clumps remain and mixture is cohesive.
Whisk in the melted butter, eggnog, and nutmeg and turn the stove on medium. Cook and stir constantly until mixture thickens and becomes smooth and creamy, about 5-7 minutes. It should look like pudding.
Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla extract.
Pour the filling into the prepared partially-baked pie crust and smooth out the top.
Pour the melted butter topping over the pie filling and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture liberally over the top.
Bake for 25 minutes, then turn on the broiler and broil for 1 minute or until topping is golden brown and bubbly (watch it carefully to prevent burning!). Cool the pie completely at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 1 hour to set.

Apex Legends Coffee Shop Orders
what the legends would order before/after the games (reminder that coffee shops don't just have coffee):
Bloodhound
I don't see Houndy getting anything with espresso in it, mainly teas.
Possibly a tea latte, Earl Grey with almond milk
Most likely drinks after a long game, especially as a kind of reward if they won.
Gibraltar
Definitely would either be a lemonade/coconut milk mixed w/ fruit refresher, or specifically the paradise drink from Starbucks.
Before or after the game, definitely if he won, he'd drink on it.
Lifeline
Definitely a shaken espresso girl, keeps her awake and alert for her work. She'd either add cold foam or cream/milk to sweeten it up a bit.
Mostly before, so she has the energy to get through the game. But if she's tired after and needs the boost, she'll get it after as well.
Pathfinder
Wraith
Unable to drink, but would most likely order a strawberry creme blender if he could.
After and before, he would basically be a frequent customer.
Anything hot, with a cozy, warm taste to it, such as a chai latte with gingerbread syrup or hazel/toffee nut.
A nice, cozy after game drink to relax.
Caustic
Bangalore
Definitely something hot but basic. She barely knows coffee, so she doesn't really do anything fancy.
Can see her ordering a caramel macchiato.
Definitely after to cool off/relax.
Mirage
Just hot black coffee, dark roast.
Before and after, probably the only thing he drinks tbh.
Octane
He's constantly trying everything, forgets if he's tried one before, and gets it again. Also, always asking the barista for recommendations or what something is.
Never give him coffee, please, he doesn't shut up and his ADD/ADHD goes crazy.
He'd either order before or after/doesn't have a preference.
Wattson
Same as Mirage, he likes to try EVERYTHING, but he likes to try putting anything and everything into one single drink. Including his stim.
The barista's last brain cell eventually explodes and just gives him a latte, in which he, of course, puts his stim in it.
For the love of god, keep coffee away from him. If you think his fidgeting is bad now, just you wait, HE WILL NOT STAND STILL.
Definitely an order before a game, just to give him even more energy (that he really doesn't need).
She'd be a blender or refresher kinda girl. She'd like the smooth texture along with being able to taste the flavor more than the coffee, but she definitely would love the Star Drink from Starbucks as well.
Before or after, a nice refreshment to either get herself ready for the game or cool off after a long game.
Revenant
Crypto
Definitely just a regular chai, iced or hot, doesn't have a preference. He doesn't get anything added in it but changes the milk to either oat or almond.
Most likely sipping on it while working so before and after.
Loba
Can't drink, but if he even could, straight fucking whiskey.
Before and after, he wouldn't care.
Rampart
She would definitely get an iced white mocha with raspberry added, along with raspberry or vanilla cold foam on top and oat milk.
Definitely, after as a way to cool off (yknow how she is when she sees rev 🙄)
Horizon
She'd go for a dirty chai, it gives it a toastier taste and she loves the added espresso to give her more energy throughout the day to keep her up and working.
Before and after, probably get it before, sip on it, then come back to the same drink after and continue it.
Fuse
Medium roast with some oat milk for creamer and may add a nutty syrup to give it some flavor. But if she's in a hurry, just the medium roast, she's fine with black coffee too.
Most likely, after when she's back to her work, she might get some before if she needs a quick wake-up.
He's definitely not a coffee person, more on the alcohol side of drinking. If Houndy took him to the coffee shop, he'd probably go for a small black coffee so he could put his beer or whiskey into it to mix.
Probably after since he'd be with Houndy.
Seer
Valkyrie
Chai latte with oat milk and matcha cold foam on top. The mix between the earthy taste of matcha mixed with the cinnamon flavor of chai makes a perfect cozy combo hot or cold, and she loves it, that is, if she's not drinking.
Before and after, she'll drink it even during the game if she really wanted.
Ash
Some fruity ass shit
Definitely a refresher of some sort, mixes the strawberry acai with the passion tango tea, or the pineapple passion with the passion tango tea.
Would most likely wait until after the game.
Mad Maggie
Can't drink, but would most likely go for a medium roast over ice, added milk as creamer.
It would definitely be after the games. She deals with so much shit.
Newcastle
She'd use the coffee shop to cover up the fact that she's drinking her whiskey. She's not a beer drinker like Fuse. It's straight whiskey for her. She'd get a black coffee, roast isn't a preference, and then mix in her whiskey.
Before and after, she's tired of everyone's shit.
Vantage
Black coffee, medium roast, splash of half & half on the top, maybe some vanilla syrup or sugar cane to sweeten it.
Most likely before, to wake himself up enough and be prepared, morning coffee is a dad essential.
Catalyst
Not much of a coffee person instead prefers the non espresso drinks, especially the fruity choices. The Dragon Drink from Starbucks would be something she'd choose, especially blended.
Before or after, not a preference for her. If it was a hot day, especially after.
Ballistic
Not a hot coffee kinda girl, even in cold weather, loves iced coffee/drinks. Especially loves the tea lemonades. On a hot day, a fruity tea with lemonade, on a cold day, an iced cold brew with a nutty flavored cold foam on top.
Before or after, either works for her.
Conduit
Definitely goes to the coffee shop with Newcastle. Their dad vibes just kick it off nicely, especially when it comes to them both sharing their tastes in coffee. He likes to go for the same as him, but instead of the vanilla, toffee nut is his sweet spot.
Before if he's relaxing prior, but definitely after since he put in a lot of work.
She absolutely loves the coffee shop and goes to it every day to try something new she's never had. She's a sucker for any holiday drinks, hot or cold, especially the Christmas selection.
She tends to go after since she's always talking with the legends a lot before heading into the games.

Honey Drizzled Cream Puffs
Makes about 12 cream puffs
Ingredients: Puffs: 1 Egg separated, plus 2 whole eggs, 1 Teaspoon pure vanilla extract, 1/3 Cup water, 3 Tablespoons whole milk, 5 Tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into several pieces, 1 1/2 Tablespoons sugar, 1/2 Teaspoon kosher salt, 2/3 Cup all-purpose flour, sifted
Filling: 1 1/3 Cups heavy cream, cold, 3 Tablespoons honey, 1/3 Cup creme fraiche, cold, 3/4 Teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Make the puffs: Preheat the oven to 425 with a rack in the middle of the oven. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a nonstick (silicone) baking mat.
In a small bowl, beat the separated egg yolk with 1 teaspoon water and set aside. In a second small bowl, beat the separated water and set aside. In a second small bowl, beat the separated egg white with the remaining 2 whole eggs and the vanilla and set aside.
In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the water, milk, butter, sugar, and salt and cook, stirring, until the butter has melted and the mixture is on the verge of boiling, 3 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the flour all at once, and, with a wooden spoon, beat the mixture until a cohesive ball forms. Return the pan to medium-low heat and continue beating the dough, using a smearing motion, for 3 minutes, until the dough is very smooth and slightly drier.
Scrape the dough into a food processor and, with the feed tube open, process for 10 seconds to cool it slightly. With the motor running, slowly pour in the beaten eggs through the feed tube and process until they are absorbed, 10 seconds. Stop and scrape down the sides of the food processor bowl, then continue processing until the paste becomes thick, smooth, and sticky, 15 minutes.
Scrape the paste into a large plastic bag and, using your hands or a bench scraper, push it into 1 lower corner of the bag. Cut off 1/2 inch from the very corner of the bag and pipe the paste onto the prepared baking sheet in 2-inch mounds, leaving at least a 1/2 inch space around each one.
Dip a spoon into cold water and use the back of the spoon to even out the shape and smooth the surface of the mounds. Using a pastry brush, brush each mound with a small portion of the reserved egg yolk mixture.
Bake for 15 minutes, then adjust the oven temperature to 375 and continue baking until golden brown and firm, 8 minutes.
Remove the puffs from the oven and, with the tip of a paring knife, cut a 3/4-inch slit into the side of each puff to release steam. Turn off the oven, place the puffs on the baking sheet, return to the oven, prop the door open with a wooden spoon, and allow the puffs to dry, until the centers are barely moist and the exteriors are crisp, 40 minutes. Transfer the puffs to a wire rack to cool to room temperature.
To make the filling. With a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, a handheld electric mixer, or a whisk, beat the cream until it is softly whipped, adding the honey once the cream has thickened. Add the creme fraiche and vanilla and continue to beat until the mixture holds very stiff peaks.
Just before serving, cut the puffs in half. Fill each bottom half with about 1/4 cup of the filling, position the top halves on the filling, arrange on a serving platter, drizzle with honey, and serve.
Note: To enhance the flavor and stability of the filling add creme fraiche to the whipped cream.

Character Intro: Eusebeia (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- Mrs. Goody Two-Shoes by Dione
Bea by the others
Age- 33 (immortal)
Location- Ioannina, Olympius
Personality- She's a very conservative pious woman who stands true in her values & beliefs. There's nothing more important to her like the reverance, respect, and prayers to the deities of the pantheon. She's single.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of piety, loyalty, duty, & filial respect, her other powers/abilities include being able to manipulate Celestial Bronze, chastity inducement, limited photokinesis, cleanliness inducement, and being able to manipulate the feeling of loyalty in a person & others.
Bea lives in a recently refurbished stone castle in the state of Ioannina. All of the doors are built out of Celestial Bronze. Inside, there's an abundance of silk curtains with the walls painted in cool neutral shades of beige, cream, eggshell, taupe, and powder blue. The interior design is very minimalist & contemporary with many marble, ivory, and stone temple statuettes serve as decorations. Bea has pets like a few cats & dogs as well as a pegasus- a boy named Blanco. He's usually her mode of transportation.
She rarely drinks alcohol though she will indulge herself with a single glass of champagne or white wine every once in a while. Go to drinks for her include coconut water, fruit infused sparkling water, mango juice, & batido de trigo. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean is a large iced green tea and an olympian sized iced vanilla chai tea latte.
Bea's morning routine includes a jog around her neighborhood, a session of tai chi, followed by a steaming hot shower.
She dresses in a conservative fashion style (neutral colors, clothing not too tight, short, or low-cut). She's a fan of minimalist jewelry and soft & subtle make-up. Bea doesn't like high heels for many reasons, the main one being it's impracticality. She won't go higher than kitten heels & she's fond of stylish flats.
Breakfast is her favorite meal of the day. Many of the dishes she makes include scrambled eggs (added with scallions, tomatoes, and onions), ladenia, rizogalo, and a pork-plantain hash (added with spicy sausages).
She goes to church quite often and is a big donator!
Bea dislikes media (art, books, music, television, and movies) that contain an overabundance of explicit material- like coarse language, nudity, & sexual content).
She keeps her nails short, neat, and manicured. She's not opposed to wearing polish, but only in soft colors. She is a fan of Olmorfia's nail polish with her favorite shades being "glacier rose" (a light shimmery iridescent pink), "whipped cashmere" (a soft baby pink), "infinite sun-ner" (a caramel brown), and "mined over matter" (an earthy creamy mauve).
Her favorite dessert is the angel's food cake from Hollyhock's Bakery. She also likes the creme brulee from Aphrodite's patisserie and the frozen vanilla custard from The Frozen Spoon. Bea's also known in the pantheon for her sweet & delicious cucurucho!
Her main job/responsibility is overseeing the construction of all the temples built in the honor of the gods in the pantheon. She also oversees the construction of the country's churches. A notable achievement for Bea was coming up with the layout for Hera's temple that was to be built in Samos. The design included slimmer white columns garlanded with pomegranates & flowers with the walls being carved with images of one of her divine symbols- the peacock. For other work, she writes for O Dianooumenos and Vital Essence magazine. Bea also models for/endorses Glory's Crown (loves the argan oil/biotin repair & restore smoothing shampoo and conditioner), Euryphaessa, White Lily Gallery, Sunshine Radiance (loves the vitamin c brightening peel), Cleanstream, & LipCalm. She also works closely with The Litae.
Bea's personal business is her charity organization called The Pietas Foundation. Other works currently in development is a dating app specifically catered towards celibate & conservative folks with marriage being the goal and a possible tv network focused on faith based, conservative, & family oriented content.
She likes the medianoche sandwich (lightly toasted) from The Bread Box.
A favorite snack of hers are lightly salted plantain chips!
She holds fast in her views and opinions (believing that sex should be between a married couple, heteronormativity, daily prayers & offerings to the gods, etc...). Bea believes in the conservative pious lifestyle with traditional family values. She doesn't disrespect others with "differing lifestyles" & she's always open to having discussions with people who don't share her views.
Her best friend in the entire pantheon is Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith). They call each other "sister" and she supported Pistis during the whole drama involving her sister's wedding. Bea's also friends with Eikono (goddess of iconography & literature), Hestia (goddess of the hearth), Aeschyne (goddess of modesty & honor), Themis (Titaness of justice), Eváeros (goddess of air & the zodiacs), Apheleia (goddess of simplicity) Praxidike (goddess of judicial punishment), Soteria (goddess of safety), Eunostos (goddess of the flour mill), Promylaia, Eudaimonia (goddess of happiness), Elpis (goddess of hope), & Peitharchia (goddess of obedience & discipline). She's also suprisingly friends with the twins Penia (goddess of poverty) and Ptocheia (goddess of beggary). She dislikes, but won't openly disrespect Kakia (goddess of vice & moral wrongdoing), Hybris (goddess of insolence, hubris, & reckless pride), Dione, Philotes (goddess of sex, friendship, & affection), and especially Dyssebeia (goddess of ungodliness & impiety)- among others.
A birthday gift from Pistis was a gorgeous jeweled hair clip from Diamond Ave. It cost 2,000 drachmas!
She's celibate (also a virgin) and plans to stay that way until she falls in love and gets married. Bea has her whole wedding planned in her journal! In her journal she also wrote about a time she was tempted to break her promise when she was propositioned by Priapus (god of fertility, vegetable gardens, livestock, sexuality, & masculinity).
In her free time Bea enjoys jogging, swimming, reading (is a fan of literary fiction), knitting, sewing, cooking, yoga, sailing (owns a sailboat), tennis, and pottery.
Some of her favorite dishes include platillo moros y cristiano with bistec de palomolla, ropa vieja, moussaka, dakos, and pastitsio.
"Each step following a vice ultimately leads to damnation."

Christmas in July: Bonus Day 29
Another extra that goes along with Chapter 7. It’s more Christmas cookie recipes with a little drabble at the beginning. Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Alan arrives home from the mission sweaty but in high spirits. John’s stuck at Dad’s desk, finishing up formalities with the director. The smell of cooling cookies draws him back into the kitchen. He finds more than he remembers he and John making out on the counter. Odd. They look too nice to be Grandma’s or Scott’s handiwork which is promising.
He picks up one that looks to have chunks of some chocolate candy mixed in. One bite later and Alan’s spitting it out into the trash. Who thinks mint and chocolate are a good idea for a cookie?
“Alan Shepard!”
Kayo’s staring down at him from the balcony railings.
“I didn’t do it!”
“I literally watched you eat my cookies and spit it back out. It’s not that bad, yeah?”
“Maybe for a toothpaste cookie, it’s not.”
She hops down the stairs and joins her brother in the kitchen. Kayo makes a point to take a bite of one of the cookies and smile. “At least I don’t have to worry about you eating these then.”
“You want to make some more?” Alan asks. He taps the cover of Mom’s cookbook.
“Why not?”

2 egg whites
1C brown sugar
 Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325F. Cream together sugars and shortening. Combine the soda and warm water. Once mixed, add to the sugar mixture. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Once thoroughly combined, stir in the flour. Pat dough down into a 9x13” pan that has been greased and floured. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and lightly press down into the dough.
For the meringue, beat two egg whites into stiff peaks. Gradually add in 1C brown sugar until fully incorporated. Cover the dough with the meringue and smooth out. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
   Pineapple Pinwheels:
Ingredients:
Dough:
1C butter
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
2C flour
 Filling:
3/4C white sugar
4 1/2tsp flour
1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained
 Instructions:
Cream together cream cheese and butter. Add flour and mix well. Cover dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, but not overnight.
For the filling, combine sugar, flour, and pineapple in a saucepan. Cook over low heat with frequent stirring until thickened and hot. Cover filling and refrigerate until fully cooled.
Once ready to form pinwheels, remove dough from fridge and divide in half. On a lightly floured surface, roll out to a 1/8” thickness. Cut into 3x3” squares using either a knife or a pastry wheel. To form the star shape, cut into he center from the corner about 1 ¼”. Do NOT cut all the way to the center. Place 1/4tsp of the pineapple filling into the center of each cookie. Fold every other point towards the center until a pinwheel shape is achieved. Overlap the corners in the middle of the cookie, pressing lightly to seal. If dough is dry, a dab of water may be needed to seal the dough. I suggest looking up “Finnish Christmas star cookies” to get a reference for the cutting method and shape.
Bake at 375F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.

 Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Add in M&M’s directly as the electric mixer is running so a few get crushed and spread evenly out. Add to cookie sheets and bake for 10 to 13 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
   Top-of-the-Stove Cookies:
Ingredients:
2C sugar
1/2C milk
1/2C butter
1/4C cocoa powder
1tsp vanilla
3C quick oatmeal
1/2C coconut
Salt to taste
 Instructions:
