idk if you would be into this BUT! i read your ask about tumblr archeology and i simply have to contribute this fic.
called observations, accessible here https://anon-j-anon.livejournal.com/30674.html, it’s essentially a book (i think like 200k words lol) written in 2009 that puts the AOS characters in the TOS deep space mission. a lot of the episodes are rewritten with their new counterparts— city on the edge of forever, arena, operation: annihilate!, what are little girls made of, so many more. it’s narrated by spock (his “observations” serving under jim) and definitely is a spirk fic, but i cannot emphasize enough how well it is written. contains math, philosophy, art discussions, and just has AMAZING characterizations into all of the cast (not just jim and spock but added depth into characters like chekov and chapel).
in my book it’s one of those “fandom foundational texts” but since it’s posted to livejournal, not ao3, i fear it’s kinda died off! but it is SUCH a good work i’m considering my duty as a star trek fan to spread it around. figured i would share it with you since you seemed interested in fandom revival!

this fic is in such a unique format (first officer logs, spock's first person POV). i'll be honest that it takes some getting used to but i recommend giving it a shot! it really works with the story being told. like, really works.
for the sake of warning my fellow TOS and jim obsessed freaks, this is 110% AOS kirk. what i mean is that, personally, i don't tend to enjoy the hard, angry version of jim that's always watching his back and on edge... so if you're like me, this fic might make you wince a little at first. there's swearing and defensiveness right off the bat that i do not associate with the beloved version of james t kirk who lives inside my soul.... BUT.
but but but! i have still enjoyed what i've read so far! i think that really speaks to how thorough and simply enjoyable the writing is. jim is not out of character for AOS- in fact, he's incredibly in character and well written.
i can't express how much it means to me that you dropped this into my inbox! i never ever would have found it otherwise and although it might take me a while, i'm looking forward to finishing it in it's entirety :)

These people are so exhausting.
First of all, don't come into my pockets to count how much change I have to then school me on what I should do with what I have. It's none of your businesses who I give my money to, nor how much, nor for what reason. I could spend it all on haunted porcelain dolls on eBay, and it would still be none of your businesses.
Second, this is Tumblr, and I'm not gonna blindly donate to someone because otherwise the OP who scoured their GFM by putting *insert hot topic discussion of the week* in the searchbar will accuse me of racism. With Ao3, I have full transparency of where the money is going (even if these dimwits refuse to read more than five lines in a row and therefore are shocked anytime people go to them and say "Here's a link of how they handle the money"), with GFMs and requests of monetary donations from randos, I'm gonna be more cautious. Remember uncle-father? Remember 6penceee? Remember HIVliving? Remember Rose Christo, the woman who pretended to be the original author of My Immortal because she really wanted to sell us all her (fake) memoir and was then outed by her brother on KiwiFarms? Yeah. Thought so.
Third, no, I'm not gonna blindly follow the advice of people who have their blogs completely under lock and key. I get not allowing anons, people can be shitty, but I don't trust people if they're not willing to be fully transparent (meaning: having their archives accessible and blog searchbars available). Normally, I wouldn't even notice it, wouldn't even look for it, but if you're out there preaching about how we're all bad people if we don't do this or we don't do that, if we dare have hobbies you don't like, if we dare use Ao3 because "it's for pedophiles and therefore you're one too," then I expect full and complete transparency on your part.
You don't get to seat yourself atop the highest throne, demand I take money from my wages and spend it at your command, and still hide away shit about your person because you're scared to be called out on it. You don't get to be the morality police when you're shitting your pants at the thought of people digging through what you posted last month (and it's always, always some bad-wrong fic that was posted on Ao3.)
Oh, and also, as a fourth: I've been in fandom for close to two decades. I've been in big fandoms, small fandoms, fandoms that resisted discourse and the test of time, and fandoms that crumbled underneath them immediately, and I've been using Ao3 religiously since the early 2010s. Never in my fandom life I've encountered the amount of extreme porn depicting (extremely young) minors they keep saying there is. Is there some? Sure, especially in bigger fandoms. Is there enough that it's impossible to avoid? No. I've been in fandoms where there was some, sure, but at no point that was the majority of what's uploaded to it. If they see so much of it, then it's because they go looking for it.
I won't be called Boo Boo the Fool by people who strut around pretending their jester hats are kingly crowns.

Kakashi hates these types of missions. It’s always so boring, just sitting and waiting. You know he hates them because he has not stopped talking about it since you arrived at your destination two days ago.
“This is so boring,” he says for what feels like the five hundredth time. “Why are we even here?”
You grit your teeth, hands fisting in the fabric of your yukata. “Because it’s our job, Hatake. Now kindly be quiet so I can actually do mine.”
The truth is, you are inclined to agree with your partner. You’re no more interested in surveillance than he is. The fact that you’ve been paired with such an infuriatingly vocal shinobi--who would have thought the surly Copy Ninja was so outspoken when provided the right opportunity?-- only adds to your frustration.
Because watching gang leaders purchase drugs and weaponry and forbidden scrolls is not at all a good time. It’s tedious and time consuming, scribbling down every item that changes hands, especially when you’re trying to be surreptitious about it in a crowded club while maintaining a different transformation jutsu every twelve hours.
But having Kakashi grumble constantly in your ear only makes it worse; only makes the endless days feel longer. This does not stop him, however, from continuing to complain and annoy you for the next half-week, constantly groaning about his back, insisting his knees can’t withstand the prolonged sitting anymore.
“Then go for a walk,” you tell him, but he shakes his head. “Can’t leave you. What if something interesting finally happens?”
Your snort. Such a thing is very unlikely. The Hokage has sent you to observe and report, nothing more. Anything short of a gang war breaking out or a coup of the feudal lord’s private residence the next village over will not be means for intervention.
At night, the two of you share a futon, turning to face away from one another as best you can. Your accommodations are better suited for rats than humans, in all honesty. The food the inn provides is hardly edible and you can’t wait to take a tepidly warm shower again once you’re finally back in Konoha, tired of the frigid baths you have here.
Two weeks of this and you’re about at your limit, especially when Kakashi will not stop lamenting your accommodations in addition to the assignment itself. He tells you that his last long-term, non-combat mission was as private security for a Daimyo, who let him sleep on the plush mattress of his guest house and had his personal chef prepare meals for him each evening.
He wonders aloud--and loudly--what you could have done to offend Hiruzen Sarutobi so badly as to land yourself (and therefore, by extension, him) in this shithole. You yourself begin to wonder how you ever found Kakashi Hatake attractive, how it was at all possible that when you received this assigment you were actually excited he would be your partner.
You are obviously an even worse judge of character than Kakashi is a sound sleeper.
You’ve taken plenty of partner missions before, shared plenty of bunks and futons and beds, but you’ve never met anyone who tosses and turns so thoroughly, always rising before the sun to finally give you a few mintues of undisturbed sleep.
It is the only time Kakashi seems to understand the benefit of silence.
The fact that he kicks himself out from beneath the sheet every morning to sit quietly on the opposite end of the room and read while you enjoy an hour or two of undisturbed slumber is the only reason you haven’t yet smothered him with his pillow. You offer to make him a sleeping tonic, but he waves the idea away.
“What? And be too groggy for our daily inspections?” he teases. For a moment you forget you’re irritated with him, but Kakashi reminds you only a fraction of a second later. “Then who will track the number of times the waiter picks his nose? Surely that’s above your pay grade.”
You grit your teeth, reminding yourself he has not slept well and is probably cranky as a result.
But you are not sleeping as well as you’d like either and Kakashi makes no such concessions on your behalf.
And one night, after a much longer day than most of the others during which you catalogued hundreds of individual pieces of weaponry and at least four crates of scrolls you’d had to recover in the dead of night to pry open and look at the actual contents, you return from your freezing bath to find Kakashi reading.
“Took you long enough,” he says.
You stuff your irritation down as you go about the rest of your nightly routine, but Kakashi never stops talking.
He complains about the splinter in his finger from the crates, that he can still taste the mushy rice you both ate for dinner. Even as you crawl onto the futon, exhausted and in desperate need of sleep, his sonorous voice drones on and on and on.
Finally, something within you snaps and you sit up, Kakashi’s eyebrows rising minutely when he finds you staring at him.
“Do you. Ever. Shut up.” Though it is ostensibly a question, you don’t lift your voice at the end of the sentence, leaving no room for confusion as to where you stand on the subject.
Kakashi grins. And whereas you should be delighted to see his face bare so often these days, your nostrils flare in irritation as he snaps his book closed.
“I’m just doing my job,” he says, feigning innocence.
“Is your job to annoy the shit out of me?” you ask. “Because if so, well done.”
Kakashi’s grin broadens and he leans forward, “I belive my job is to observe and report,” he counters. “And so I’m reporting to you what I’ve observed.”
“Well don’t.”
You aren’t sure how Kakashi finds any more space to take up between you because suddenly you realize how very close he is. But rather than exciting, you find his proximity infuriating.
“I believe I am the ranking shinobi on this mission,” he says flatly, “so if I think it behooves the mission to talk through our daily routine or to scrutinize the minutiae of it as part of our evening debrief, I don’t think there’s much you can do.”
He drones on and with every syllable, your chest feels tighter, your head throbs as the beginning tendrils of a migraine snake their way up your neck into your jaw. And Kakashi just keeps talking about everything and nothing.
“Will you please just shut up?”
Kakashi pauses only long enough for his single visible eye to glint in challenge. “Make me,” he whispers, that infuriating smirk still painted over his stupidly handsome face.
He doesn’t even give you a chance to respond before his mouth is moving again, meaningless words spilling out into the air between you and you do the one thing you think will probably catch him off guard enough to grant you a brief, silent respite.
You lean forward, clamp his handsome face between your hands, and mash your lips against his in the worst, most brutal kiss of your entire life. Your teeth clang against his and there’s the distinct taste of blood on you lip from the force of your attack.
But you don’t care because when you pull away a few long moments later, Kakashi Hatake finally seems at a loss for words.
Your victory is disturbingly brief, however, because just as you're feeling like you've won, a feral-looking smile carves its way across Kakashi's face. “Took you long enough.”
You don’t have time to answer before he pulls you back in, grasping you roughly around the waist to drag your body over his as he finally lies down. His book is trapped uncomfortably between your bodies, but you hardly care.
Because now that he isn’t talking, you can focus on all the reasons you were originally excited to have him here with you. Kakashi moans against your mouth and you grip his hair, giving yourself over totally to each cascading sensation; the gentle buzzing in your head and the sound of Kakashi’s panting replacing the incessant drone of his complaints.
Yes, you think as you roll onto your back, grinning up and meeting Kakashi’s hungry gaze. This is a much better use of your time than listening to the Copy Ninja rant about accommodations or arthritic joints.
He seems to agree because the next moment, his book is tossed across the room and all his irration appears forgotten, replaced by something much more pleasant. The sounds he makes that evening are better than any you've yet heard.
And if you’re a little late to your duties the next day, it’s not like anyone will notice anyway. Kakashi’s right; this mission is boring as hell and honestly a waste of time.
At least now you have something more to look forward to than just a cold bath at the end of the night, though you’re sure you’ll be needing one of those, too.

any advice on someone who’s new to the hockey/hockey rpf fandom on trying to make friends? I miss having people to bounce ideas off of
hi anon! welcome to hockey fandom! i hope you're having fun so far ❤
in all honestly, i'm probably not the best person to answer this question. the majority of the friends i made in hockey fandom i met 7–10 business years ago in a locked hockey twitter environment that just doesn't really exist anymore in the way it did back then. i've made a handful more recently (whom i adore!!) but i'm such an introvert that most of the time it's them deciding we should be friends and me being like "sure sounds great!" 😅 however. i will try to give some advice anyway.
i assume since you're here you're on tumblr in general, so if you haven't yet, definitely start following people who are into the same teams/players/pairings as you! don't be shy about reblogging from them and putting your fannish feelings in the tags, or prev tagging them if you like what they added, or sending them an ask if they blog about something you'd love to hear more about. except, and this is key, i'm sorry: you gotta send your asks non-anonymously. anons can be super fun but you can't really make friends with them.
it really depends on the level of outgoing-ness you're comfortable with, but if you've had a couple of interactions with someone and you want to see if they'd like to be friends, honestly, just shoot them a message. say something like, hey, i'm pretty new to hockey fandom and trying to make friends, and you seem cool, so i wanted to say hi! like, unfortunate because it can be scary, but in my experience reaching out intentionally to people to start a dialogue has a way higher success rate than just interacting from afar and hoping they make a friendship move.
if you post fic on ao3, link your tumblr in your author's notes or ao3 bio. that way people who like your fic can find you! (actually do this even if you just comment on ao3. if you leave a really nice comment on someone else's fic they might want to find you, too!) and, if you find fic writers on here whose stuff you like, don't be afraid to message them about it! we live for that shit, and you might make a new writer friend.
i feel like this is all very basic advice that is not specific to hockey fandom at all, so i'm sorry if it's nothing new. if i had an idea of what in hrpf you were into maybe i could point you in some more specific directions. i know there are some discord servers out there for hrpf in general and for more specific teams/pairings/etc within hrpf, but i don't discord so i can't help with that :(
hockey fandom, i think, can be a little intimidating because there is so much information and history and so many players and teams you could be into. i really do think being honest with people — hey, i'm new, i'm excited to learn and geek out about this stuff, i wanna be friends — is the best way to be. and if you have questions, you can always dm me! i'm nice, i promise!!

Do you have any advice on upping engagement with your writing on ao3? I post stuff but it really doesn’t get many hits.
Hey anon! I have a few thoughts, both around engagement and more generally around building up your writing community.
Since you mention hits, I'd start with looking at your tags and your summaries. Would you click on a fic described the way you're describing it? Are you showing off your writing in the summary, and highlighting what makes your fic fun? Or are you over tagging/over-describing so that it's hard to wade through? I find summaries in particular really hard, so I try to always step back and see mine with fresh eyes, and tend to do a few freeform rambly tags to convey the vibe.
You can also look at the rest of the fandom/pairing. Are there any particular conventions? Some fandoms have their own tagging and summarizing quirks (and you might notice a few approaches you want to try out for your own stuff).
Another approach is to seek out fandom events like ship/character weeks, exchanges, zines, etc. Those can be a great way to get your work in front of people who are interested in similar content, and to meet other creators and start building out a writing community. There tends to be some general hype around the organized event I've found that spills into the things people are creating for it.
If you're comfortable with it, I also LOVE doing gift fics. You get to riff off someone else's excitement for an idea, it's really fun to bring someone's idea to life/or flesh out a moment captured in art, and it's another way to start finding like-minded readers and creators and people who give you writing energy.
I also think tumblr prompts can be really nice for practicing new styles, showing off your writing, and letting interested readers find you. Especially if you're comfortable putting out less polished writing on tumblr, it can be a quick and fun way to either work with prompts people send in or to set yourself a challenge (three-sentence stories, for example, or 100 word drabbles) that lets you both flex your skills and show off in a way that can get passed around to new audiences. I've found a number of authors on ao3 by seeing their work on tumblr and following a link to their profile.
You can also showcase your writing on tumblr through sharing snippets, last-line challenges, ask games, etc. Those little bits and moments of excitement and enthusiasm can really help get people excited for what you're doing, too!
It's a tough question, though, especially considering some of the larger fandoms out there and how many authors there are. Anyone else have any other suggestions?

You are 39 yet you seem to have no idea that Aemond and Daemon are not the same. Also Helaemond is not a copy of Daemyra yet you write it as they were the same people, basically if I didn't see the names in fic mentioned, I could easily switch them because you write them in similar manner. Well you can't eat cake and have cake and of course I understand you like Daemon from the start and when you saw how handsome Aemond was you began writing about him too (how could one resist Aemond) but you can't expect people to like you when you like and comment posts that sometimes are anti team Green and sometimes anti team Black. Of course you need people from both teams to support your works but soon everyone will turn their back on you. Maybe you haven't learned that already, but you can't be on both teams. You're just like a penny, two-faced and worthless.

Let's break this down:

What does my age have to do with anything? "Yet" implying that somehow by 39 years of age I should agree with you? I'm not going to link my headcanon posts about each of them but I think I've been very clear that they are incredibly different.

Then don't read my fics. I wrote my first chapter of Zaldrītsos (my Daemyra) on AO3 on October 2nd. I didn't come back to Tumblr until later that month and by the 12th had posted this update because pretty much no one had written Helaemond since episode 8 aired on October 9th (three days prior). I say that because I needed to get it out of my system since it's not one of my main ships. If you have read all three of those chapters (Steadfast for those who want to read it, masterlist is my pinned post, shameless plug) AND all 8 chapters of Zaldrītsos then I salute you! Thank you for reading. If not, then your comment doesn't hold much water. Good thing I write for me and not you.

AND WELL LOL that would be because most of wizard au currently isn’t published! the best place to know more stuff about the au is either in my #wizard au tag, or just asking me! i love to talk about it, and right now it’s a lot easier for me to answer asks in my spare moments. i occasionally post screenshots from my doc files on here, but the fics are taking a backseat while I work on my Job Project.

The Pnat At Wizard School AU I Made When I Was 16 Is Still Fun Unfortunately JKR DNI - This was my first attempt at publishing the writing I’d done, before I got embarrassed and orphaned it, back in 2020. It’s a little outdated but most of it holds up. Boggart fic is one of my favorites.
Pnat Hogwarts AU by Twilighteve. I made wizard AU way back in 2015 with a friend, and twilighteve wrote SEVEN FICS as fanwork. The story now is different and follows Isabel rather than Max, but these are still great fics and I’m very lucky to have had someone enjoy my au enough to write so much for them. Throughout the Tournament is a really fun read.
i cant believe i’ve had this story for like 8 years at this point. i think it’s almost more fun to have as an au on my blog than an actual fic series? looking back whenever i start thinking about The Fics i just get stressed out. i’ve had it as an au since 2015 and i’ve had writing wips since 2018. its nice to have something with me for that long, i think thats why i keep coming back to it? even though thinking about it in terms of Fic Output and Writing Order makes me so stressed. at the end of the day it’s mine. and it’s there for be an outlet for me. if i want to be lazy about it, i can. if i want to put a lot of hard work into it, i can. i get to cozy up before bed and imagine wizjo scenarios.
and seeing how the characters have developed over the years has been weird- like, i wrote a lot of this in 2015. what do you MEAN codys a vampire. what do you MEAN theres whole new areas of the paranormal. its funny but when put next to current pnat you can REALLY see how its dated lol. so much is built on top of the 2015-2016 era headcanons like cody & lisa being twins, or not knowing what the spirit in isabels umbrella was like. we didnt know flipflop yet!!!! hes just not in there!!!!! we didnt know what the BERG was so max isnt a catboy!!! davy doesnt exist!!!!!!!
and there are in-comic background characters that we would talk about and gave names who show up in the au. these two are chasers on the gryffindor quidditch team with isabel & johnny:
& we named them sarah and logan. that might canonically be their names too????? but i cant remember.
Here are some very practical Wizard AU facts:
Story spans from 2nd year when Isabel loses Eightfold to 7th(?) year when they graduate
The biggest reason so much isn’t on AO3 is because theres so much I have no idea how to organize it. For example:
At my current pace, I have ~5 fics based on central emotional beats. In order to keep things interesting for non-izjo readers, I tried adding a little overarching plot
Said plot now vastly overshadows the initial series purpose of a Dorky 6 Year Long Izjo Slowburn
‘Wait I don’t care about this i just want my dorky 6 year long izjo slowburn. but wait, this has lived in my head since 2015, is it even legible to anyone who would just be coming into it?’
~5 central plot fics, each with around 5 chapters at maybe 10k per chapter give or take. is roughly 250k total. even if i do publish this it’s going to take years
What else is there…………. Isabel is really good at offensive magic. She becomes quidditch team captain in their 5th year. Max hates flying on brooms.
Wizjos arc means so much to me.
Their friendship vaguely starts in 2nd year. theyre the quidditch beaters but work horribly together- they argue a lot and dont get along at all, it almost gets them kicked off the team. theyre forced into a situation that pairs them to work together sometime mid semester, and at the end of it they’re still… tense, but have a better understanding of each other? like ‘you annoy me but we had a moment that i would feel bad betraying. i think were more similar than i thought and i dont know how to feel about it yet’. Johnny develops his crush and it’s very strangled because he’s 12.
By 3rd year they’re more cooperative. Getting towards friendly. Theyre teammates AND housemates, so even though theyre in separate friend groups they spend a lot of time together. Still bickering but there’s slowly more and more fun behind it. Less ‘i’ll shove you off your broom’ and more ‘hey maybe if we do x we can shove x off their broom together’. Isabel begins having fun hanging out with johnny because he bites back. It’s stopped being annoying and become ‘oh hes just as conscious (whether he knows it or not) about his image as i am. it’s nice to put that down around someone. and also blast him with wizard lasers sometimes. and get blasted by wizard lasers.’
By 4th year they’re friends and Johnny’s still sitting with his feelings. It’s just a part of daily life. Wake up. Brush teeth. Shut Up Guerra (Hey Guerra). Lunch. Pick on a 2nd year. Meet up with Guerra before practice. Tell that one joke cause it always makes her laugh. Don’t make it obvious how you feel. Don’t let it slip how you feel. Don’t jeopardize this. Don’t do anything that’d make her feel weird. You’re her friend and he likes being her friend so it’s not a big deal. Isabel has slowly been getting more pressure from her grandpa, and every time shes stressed and cant go to her AC friends she goes to Johnny. So by 4th year they’re more or less best friends.
By 5th year they’re a capital T Team. Isabel’s gryffindor captain now and Johnny’s essentially her right hand. He’s there to hold new member tryouts with her, they study in the commonroom late at night, hes so gleeful about her uppity new position that he permanently cements calling her Captain into their teasing nicknames and Isabel hates it. In return Isabel makes him do extra laps, because she can do that now. And then Johnny gets in a non-serious accident and is in the infirmary for a week and suddenly Isabel is confronted with Oh. Oh I Don’t Like This. Oh This Is Bad. He’s fine he just gets like a concussion or something but Isabel doesn’t KNOW that right away and all of a sudden she’s faced with ‘i didnt realize how much of my life you’ve become and i miss you now that youre not there’ ‘…….why do i miss you now that youre not there.’ ‘we have a quidditch match coming up and i dont know if youll be healthy enough to play’ ‘i dont care about the game. id cancel in an instant if it means you wont have to play injured’ ‘………………why did i-’ etc. And afterwards Johnnys FINE but isabel is left with this weird hole in her gut and the reality that In That Situation That Was My Reaction And Those Were My Feelings. She’s confronted with the fact that somewhere along the line, Johnny became someone important to her. And that him getting hurt worried her. Because she cares about his wellbeing. Because she likes spending time with him. Because he’s her quidditch partner. Because she doesn’t think she could see herself playing with anyone else. Because she doesn’t think she’d want to play with anyone else. And then shes in trouble.
By 6th year is when things start kicking into gear. For starters the Triwizard Tournament because I can’t do a wizard au without some wizard deathsports. None of it is directly involved, that’s actually MAX’S B-plot, but a lot of what goes on because of it directly influences the wizjo A-plot.
Now we’re dealing with Johnnys time-tempered feelings that he’s accepted nothing would happen with but are still very alive, and ISABEL, who has JUST realized and has been stewing in her feelings all summer. With no outlet or real processing. Cant even go to johnny about it because well he Is johnny. He’s johnny and he gets under her skin and helps her with her transmutation homework and when she blasts him in dueling class he gets back up with a bigger grin than when she knocked him down. And she’s going to explode, she thinks.
And I’ve talked about this but when Headmaster Boss Leader (lmfao) says the forest is off limits during the tournament, of course they bet who can sneak out and last longer. And of course both friend groups scatter and get lost in the woods and of course who finds each other but. each other. and of course theyre both angry and worried about their friends and on guard bc theyre in the fucking forbidden forest at like 1am. Isabels ashamed that she didnt think more and johnnys grumpy and theyre so so blaming it on each other. Don’t deal with your feelings when you can express them through what you both know best: bickering and riling each other up to get the energy out. Isabels doing all this while trying Not to think about her crush. Johnnys long accepted his crush and that it’s not going to happen. So they are both very very surprised when Isabel kisses him mid argument, much to her horror. She apologizes and they get back to looking for their friends, who find them first. Later that night Isabel decides to apologize properly, because in her mind she let her emotions get out of control and seriously took advantage of him and she feels horrible about it. He’s someone she cares about, even though he probably doesn’t feel the same way, and it was wrong (She’s beating herself up and saying see? heres what happens if you let yourself have nice things. youd be lucky if he even speaks to you after what you did. you cant do this again.). Johnny however hears ‘that meant nothing to me i’m embarrassed and dont read into it’. Which is. Fine. He knew that. He’s known that. Hes big and scary and doesn’t let something like rejection get to him. Especially cause it wasn’t even rejection because she was never interested in the first place! Which he knows! So it doesn’t matter! And he can handle it really well! Yeah sure thing Guerra no big deal why’d she ever WANT to kiss him right theyre not like that! See her at practice ! they both walk away like Glad that was cleared up! [screaming]
This keeps happening. 6th year is when everything thats been boiling starts bubbling over.
isabel kisses johnny and everything gets wobbly. they’re trying to focus on their studies, and quidditch, and maintain that comfortable friendship theyve had since 3rd year, and not think about how nice it would be to try it just one more time. everyone, including the guest students from other schools that are here for the tournament, can see that theyve got something going on, even if they cant. johnny makes an excuse to drape his legs over isabels lap. isabel finds an excuse to grab johnnys wrist, or nudge him on the shoulder. they’re trying to deal with how things used to be and how they are now and how they want them to be and how they feel.
they ALMOST kiss again during wizard prom, which they don’t attend together. but they dont.
and then they have exams in spring. and isabels sooooo confident that she’ll knock out that stupid dog boggart just like she did third year. so she’s pretty shaken up when her grandpa shows up instead and says hes pulling her out of school early. shes too much trouble and hes through putting up with this time-wasting education, its time for her to quit being an embarrassment to him and finish learning the family magic. theres a lot more insults thrown in but thats the jist. and she goes running to the commonroom because not only did all that happen and she’s freaking out, but it happened and she freaked out in front of the entire class. and johnny goes after her because hes worried like crazy and they have a moment and he goes a bit overboard on the whole ‘if thats what your real grandpas like then i dont care who he is hes a jackass. cant he see what an annoyingly massive brain youve got on your shoulders or how youre cracked at strategy or’ and he does that for like 10 minutes while gently rubbing her back and isabel is having another crisis on top of her grandpa crisis. because what she tried so hard to kill is still very much alive. and hes being weirdly soft and comforting and she feels better with him here and its a lot to deal with. And she feels horrible and guilty and she doesn’t want him to stop.
Johnny is trying desperately to break tension and make sure she knows its bullshit. She’s HIS friend! Nobody talks like that about one of HIS friends and gets away with it! Even if it was a creature disguised as her grandpa and not actually her grandpa! SHE deserves to know that it’s not true and HES not gonna stand by it! But shes resisting and hes frustrated and there’s got to be SOMETHING thatll get through her head there’s got to be SOMETHING he can do to show her what he thinks but shes being DIFFICULT and hes BAD AT WORDSTHINKING and- oh okay thats a kiss. To get through her big smart wonderful dense skull. And it’s very soft and very determined to say ‘you’re wonderful. this is how wonderful i think you are. you dont need me to tell you it but please listen please please please if you need to hear it from someone else ill tell you. i dont really know how to in the way you deserve but youre worth learning’. All in front of the couch they spent hours on studying and planning matches on and napping and its warm and isabel is. well. Isabel Is In Trouble.
And then oh. Well. Um. Hello Maxwell. Who Came To Check On Us Because We Were Taking So Long .
frankly i’m still not sure how they sort that one out. johnny awkwardly excuses himself. and sometime before the school year ends they Actually Talk About It
By 7th year theyre together and very happy and very much the school menaces. Turns out avoiding your feelings gets you nowhere when instead you could face them and put your head together and cause all your separate rabblerousery with each other. And also hold hands with your best friend who you meet for breakfast and fall asleep on and spar against and get excited over the upcoming quidditch season with and kiss and sneak out to the astronomy tower with a blanket. isabel doesn’t want to take over franciscos legacy and johnnys like ‘i mean youve been pretty busy buildin your own, cap’. and she thinks. yeah. but itd be um. kind of empty with just me, dont you think?
Because she likes spending time with him. Because he’s her quidditch partner. Because she doesn’t think she could see herself playing with anyone else. Because she doesn’t think she could see herself wanting to play with anyone else. And then shes in trouble. Because neither does he.

Snarry BANG! aims at offering Snarry creators the chance to pair up - writer and podficcer, artist and ficcer, etc - and collaborate on the same project!
What are Signups for?
They allow you to participate in one, two, or even three different ways!
1/ You already have the Severus to your Harry? The happy spouses team members each sign up to let me know you're not participating in claims for this specific project since you're already married matched.
You can of course still participate in the other ways if you so choose!
2/ You can claim one or more slides (art slides and/or fic slides). You do not have to submit in order to claim, but you do have to sign up.
3/ You can submit your own slide, aka fic or art that has never been published, but it doesn't have to be finished at this point.
If you do not sign up, you won't be able to claim a slide (this means seeing the fic and art projects participants have submitted, and choosing which one(s) inspires you and that you'd like to work on).
If you sign up but don't claim, i promise i will not come to your house and Crucio you into claiming - RL happens, no harm done.
Signing up will means all options are open, and not signing up means all doors are closed! You know what to do in April/May ;-)
Claims will happen once signups close, and once claims are over matches will be sent. Final posting will be around Harry's birthday!

There will be no Discord server for the event; all major info will be sent by email. However, i will also be available via Tumblr DM and Discord DM and can contact you via these.

btw, I would like to kindly recommend you to use yuugo as a tag if their dynamics are top yuuji/bottom gojo, most particularly on ao3! there’s a top yuuji/bottom gojo tag in there hehe it’s just so people who prefer that dynamics can search for it easily and people who don’t go for that dynamics won’t get landmined without them knowing! 💛 as for me, I like both dynamics so I’ll definitely enjoy anything you put out!

Haha, yeah, goyuu is the only Gojou ship I like, though I'm prone to writing other Yuuji ships alongside goyuu. I shamelessly play favorites. Well, there's also Gojou/Gojou...does that count?
Re the tags: It's not that I'm unaware of their existence, I'm choosing not to use them.
The goyuu/yuugo distinction (and similar ones for other anime ships) is an Eastern fandom feature rather than a Western one in my experience, and while I can tell there's some bleedthrough these days, I'm still more used to a single ship name being common on the Western side. While I appreciate the specificity of the Eastern style, I prefer the uniformity of the Western one. Links to my fic are tagged with 悠五 on Tumblr for extra organization, but other than that, I don't use "yuugo" in any meaningful sense.
I haven't tagged who tops or bottoms (or switches) in my Ao3 fics since 2018 for reasons that can be summed up as "some shitty fandom attitudes/behaviors pissed me off." That's not going to change. I understand having strict preferences, and I encourage people who don't want to read top!Yuuji x bottom!Gojou to avoid my works; however, they don't need me to tag top/bottom for this. All my fics are rated as "explicit" and tagged with "anal sex." Readers with strict preferences can (a) avoid fics not tagged with t/b entirely, (b) Ctrl+F for "cock" or "dick" to see who puts it in whom, or (c) ask me outright.
I understand that you intended this as well-meaning advice, but my tagging practices in general have been put in place after a lot of thought and for particular reasons. The best part of Ao3 is that it lets writers present their fics how they want. Mine have enough information to allow people to curate their experiences, but the specificities of that information cater to my standards. To go by your metaphor, there are no landmines here, but I expect people to watch where they step carefully.
That got a little long, but I see this question often, so I wanted to clarify. I guess I can just link this ask if someone asks again.

So. It’s four years ago. I just picked up Good Omens in a bookstore, since the authors sounded vaguely familiar and I needed something to read. I binge it in about two to three days.
YOINK we’re fast forwarding and it is now TWENTY-TWENTY-THREE and FATHERS DAY oh boy this sure is gonna be interesting (said while putting on a very stylish hazmat suit) WAIT! Lo! Behold! Lo and behold! On thee website of Tumblr, what doth mine eyes see, reblogged by one of the people I follow? A message! (Spoiler: it’s the father’s day post you did over at monstrous agonies/monstrous productions) And now! I am having ~feelings~ NEW BLOG TO CHECK OUT WAHOOOOOOOO
“Ah, this blog seems themed,” I contemplate, looking upon the tastefully spooky art that’s been reblogged. “Oh, a new episode? This is most mysterious. Now. This, my dear reader, is where it gets interesting. You see, I’d started following Good Omens blogs, or at least, blogs that posted a good deal about Good Omens. One of them (fellshish) frequently and enthusiastically shares fic recommendations (they are also an avid reblogger of fanart. In some ways, their blog functions like a community space. It’s quite lovely.) Furthermore, their fic suggestions are typically of a very high quality, and I greatly enjoyed one of their previous recommendations (Slow Show by Mia_Ugly on ao3), so when they. Continuously. Posted about the glory of The Good Omens Grindr Fic (tm), I, of course, had to check it out.
At this point, the question may be raised of who the author of The Good Omens Grindr Fic (tm) is. This would be a very reasonable inquiry. It would not, however, be an inquiry made by me, for once I started reading I was ENRAPTURED. Enthralled. En-another thing that’s really really intense (I’m running out of appropriately accurate adjectives). The only breaks I took from reading it were to bounce around my room and do flappy hands because the banter oh my god the banter “angelic tummy” aaaaaaaaaaa (or sometimes the smut oh my god the smut holy SHIT guess I have a new thing now. I can’t even be mad about it because it’s so good).
Alas, I do need to occasionally sleep, and so one night I knew that I really didn’t have time for another chapter, but wanted to see what the author was up to. So I licked on the “come hang out on Tumblr! :)” link. Wait. Wait. Hold up. I recognize this. “Queer, quaker, chronic daydreamer.” WAIT. WAIT A GOSH DARN DING-DANG DAGNABBIT MINUTE. YOU. YOU. YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT ONE OF MY FAVORITE FICS OF ALL TIME. IS WRITTEN BY. NONE OTHER THAN THE CREATOR OF MY FAVORITE PODCAST WHO IS ALSO THE INTERNET DAD???????? ON TUMBLR DOT COM??????????? (Q&A flashbacks, paraphrased) “What Hero doesn’t want to say is that they’re a very good writer” MY GOOD FRIEND SOHPIE B. THAT IS PUTTING IT LIGHTLY. HELLO????????????????
So that’s the story of how I found out that author of one of my favorite fics is the same person as the creator of my favorite podcast and the internet dad. I am thoroughly delighted and not at all normal about this :))))))))) so, thank you!!! You’re very very cool and a marvelous writer :D

anyway, thank you for sharing your excitement, its very sweet! i dont usually make much fanfare on the podcast side of things about my fic writing - not that its a secret or anything, but i feel like if you come to me for cosy affirming monster agony aunt stuff then you might not be in the market for explicit gay pornography 😂 but theres definitely some overlap between the two audiences and im glad you're enjoying being in both camps!

Hey there! Good evenin!
I wanted to ask for advice on posting AI3 stories on here? I’ve noticed you and other artists I favorite doing it for some time but I’ve never really gotten the hang of figuring it out for myself.
(well, tumblr gave me two notifications but only showed me one anon so... hope you're the only one LOL). I assume that's a typo for AO3 and not the crime of AI generating 3 stories XD
okay, so I'm guessing you're looking for tips on how to effectively share fics in a useful/concise way? i don't know what a lot of other people do since the fanfic authors i follow on tumblr dont usually make share posts, but i can talk about my thought process i guess.
i share the way i do because i used to write my fics direct on tumblr (which was fine when they were like 1k one shots and doesn't work for pretty much anything else). i had to include all the information someone might want at the start of a post by necessity.
when i started sharing fics from ao3, i continued providing the same information with some changes/additions because like, if that's what they wanted to know to read it on tumblr, they probably want it in order to click through to another site too. i know a lot of people who post direct on tumblr will just include like two lines like
[- ship name
- prompt/summary (some people skip even this & just. pls. include it)
- read more] but that's really not enough for me to read something new unless i already like the author.
(side bar: for long projects, i generally do one share post at the beginning and one at the end, occasionally with another halfway through if it's especially long. i used to do them every chapter but that's just Annoying (for me, people in the tags, and my followers probably) but i update really frequently, so if it's been 2 months since the last chapter, go for a new share post, why not.)
anyway this is my general formatting notes that led to how i do my posts:
either start with or end with the link. you can type a regular title/"Read here on AO3!" and make it a hyperlink, or include one of the embedded links tumblr has.
IF YOU USE AN EMBED LINK: for multichapter fics, it will title it only as "Show Chapter" which is totally unhelpful. ao3 links are roughly formatted as "ao3.org/works/[workID]/chapters/[chapterID]". you need to delete the "/chapters/[chapterID]" part to have it display the embed link the same as it does with one shots, with the fic title, author pseud, and "AO3" stuff. This will make the link title actually helpful!
think of what information you would need if you were browsing ao3 instead of tumblr. you would usually be in a fandom, character, or ship's tag, so that's going to be the most important information you want to be sure you include and get out first, since it's often the first qualifying/disqualifying factor for people looking at fics. personally, i include fandom and ship because those two characters will be the obvious focus and all the others can be found on the actual ao3 post. if it's not a ship fic, then you can list major character(s) instead (also, you can list ship as "Gen" for general, non-shippy fic).
obviously you need a summary (seriously, you need a summary. even if it's bad, or one sentence, put something), but if there's other stats you want to include (like how i do the rating - which i think is important - and chapter/word count) you might want to put those ahead of the summary just to keep things visually neater. what you view as important will vary.
if you want to literally copy what i do i dont give 2 shits lmao. if you like some things about it but would change others, go for it. to me, your hitlist of information should be: fandom, ship/characters, work title, and fic summary. pseuds can be skipped, especially if its the same as your tumblr name, but i generally include it. i think rating is important, and i include something indicating length since thats a big decision factor in when/if i read what fics, but it's not so important in a share post because ideally, if they're interested in the summary, they'll at least open the fic and add it to their saved for later if its too long for that moment, and they'll see word count then
