hi! when I try to download your day 17 gift, I get an unknown file with random numbers and letters instead of a rar file with the correct name?

That's really strange! I just tried downloading it and I got the same issue. I tried re-zipping the file and reuploading it but the same thing happened, so I think there's something going on with the SimFileShare servers (that's what I get for putting off mirroring my uploads, oops). Seems like it's happening with all SFS files, even older uploads.

There's a fix: First of all, since the size of the downloaded file was still correct, I checked and it seems like the problem is simply with the name of the file (which is probably encoded when uploaded to SFS, and some issue is causing it not to be decoded properly when downloaded), so - if you can edit file extensions, then if you add .rar on the end of the random string of characters that SFS gives you, you should be able to open up the file!

Off the top of my head, if you right-click on the random file SFS gives you and go to "properties", you can edit file extensions there.

That should let you unzip the file however you normally unzip them.

I will also be going back and adding mirrors to my older files, but in the meantime, this problem will probably be resolved quickly on SFS's end, but you can still unzip files you download from there in the meantime if you change the file extension! Mine are all .rar and some other creators' might be .zip extensions.

I don't understand Sim File Share. The links work when I test them once, but then they don't work and just recycles back to the same page. Then if I test them in another browser, they go to download the files immediately instead of bringing you to the download page. Ends up then I get instant 5 downloads of the file when there were actually none and http is just wigging out.

What am I doing wrong?

The Pinch House (!!!): Part 2

Nicola's new friend Benjamin gifts her a computer, which she promptly sells and uses the money to build a tiny house(!!!). Well, more like a room. It has a door and a roof above her head, which is all she needs. The only furniture she can afford to buy are a small bookshelf (so she can start skilling for a promotion), a crate for a table and a candle to bring light. Despite now having a roof over her head, she still uses the tent to sleep outside. That, however, will have to change once winter comes around.

To thank Benjamin, Nicola asks him out for a date. They head to this small, cute restaurant that... I forgot to place the restaurant podium in, so they don't even get to have dinner. She even had the money to treat him! Oh well, instead they head out to her usual hang out spot in the park, and Nicola cooks them hot dogs. It's not a dream date, exactly, but it could have gone worse. At the end of the date Benjamin says he'd like to meet again and they share a little kiss.
