Turia, the Crestfallen Hermit

Turia hasn't left the house for years. It all started after a tragedy in which she lost her mentor and partner at the time; She was slashed in the face and lost her composure, and as they tried to save her, they were killed instead. She erupted into rage and destroyed the remaining enemies, at the cost of losing a part of herself.

Turia keeps to herself nowadays, spending most of her time in her room listening to music. She occasionally comes out when she can build up enough courage, and everyone treats her kindly. She doesn't completely open up to them though, and turns down any consolation or therapy. She's still unable to fend off Ruuha's hugs though, but nobody can.

She's completely different than how she used to be. The now timid girl used to have a loud mouth and sharp tongue, and compete with the others at anything. She was a bit mean spirited but never truly wanted to hurt anyone. Her sense of fashion never changed though, she still wears the same flashy and cool outfits.

She used to be able to conjure a magic polearm which could take on many shapes, but now the only shapes she can form lack a proper edge. Her support ability, which would empower those who hear her yell, still works, but she hasn't had a reason to use it as she doesn't go on missions anymore.

She's just recently started trying to make music of her own. Maybe through her journey with music, she'll be able to confront and resolve some of her trauma, or at the very least, allow her to take the hands that reach out to her.

I think the reason why I’m super healthy and never ever get sick is because, I’m a shut-in. Like, I’m super happy just being alone in my room with my doggy (Mr. Bonbon) and watching TV, playing video games or making YouTube videos. I only leave my room to do the chores: cook, sweep, mop, clean the bathroom, etc.

I’m allergic to the sun throughout the ENTIRE four seasons! So yeah, I’m just super chill about it. Because, I’m a shut-in who has learned to feel happy being locked up in my room like Rapunzel. So, it’s no biggie for me to not go outside.

In fact, it’s even beneficial to me. Because, did you know that if you avoid the sun you age slower? No sun = No skin damage.

I QUIT!!!!!

As the title suggests, this morning I quit my job.  I’m going back to being a NEET until at least Spring 2023. I have a bunch of money saved up that will allow me to do this, and I have good references for when I do get a new job. I was at my job for 1 year and 3 months, and even if they give me a bad review for quitting on the spot, I still have physical items (like my 1 year badge and certificate) that I can use as proof that I did indeed work there.  I’m gonna miss most of the people I worked with, and a good chunk of the customers I saw daily too. It wasn’t just me that quit today though, as I brought another member of the 4 member graveyard crew with me. The store is down 2 people, and they’re about to lose 2 more. Serves my old boss right, since she paid us like shit and treated me specifically like shit. Good riddance.  Finna start playing games again regularly until the no work depression hits HELL YEAH EDIT: Found out my boss has had to work some of my old shifts now lol, and one of the people I mentioned in the “they’re about to lose 2 more” line already quit too. That person was an assistant manager lmao. Also someone that she attempted to hire just didn’t show up to the interview.  KARMA IS REAL AND MY BOSS IS GETTIN’ IT. MAKES ME LAUGH. HAHAHAHA.

Illusory World (10) - Obey Me! Leviathan

Leviathan’s flush was getting worse by the second. 

“How is it any different?” My confusion was only spreading with the red in his face. 

“You’re... here! And I know you!” he retorted, and I think I realized his problem. Since I’d been living here, he probably thought of me as an older sister with the nagging and the lack of common ground. And seeing each other in any state of undress is disgusting. 

“Hmm. Sorry,” I said eventually. “I’ll make a note of that.” Leviathan sighed, and he stood up, moving his headphones down around his neck before he walked past me to retrieve the TSL volume I’d been looking for before—apparently, his collection was hidden inside a portion of the wall. 

“That idiot Mammon tried to sell some of them,” he explained as he handed the volume to me. “Normally I’d have them proudly on display, but I’m not really sure if I can do that right now.”

“Well, thank you,” I replied as I accepted the book. “I’ll take care to smack Mammon if he tries to sell it.” I smiled at Leviathan, and as he smiled back, I think I could safely say that he was genuinely happy. Cute. “I won’t lecture you about your choice to shut yourself in here and play games today.” 

“Hey, these games are worth staying in here,” he retorted, and I only shook my head as I smiled to myself at his delusions. 

“Of course, of course,” I replied. “See ya, Jellyfish.” I was just leaving the otaku to his own devices when I was stopped by a surprisingly firm grip on my wrist. When I turned, it was to find a shockingly fierce fire inside the normally reserved male’s orange eyes. He wasn’t angry—at least, not angry enough to start lashing out at me. It was almost gone the moment I met his eyes, but I felt in that fleeting instant that at least once in the past, Levi was a figure worthy of respect.

“...Gael... when was the last time you played a video game?” 

“Hm... Probably middle school. Why?” 

“Alright. Sit.” 

Huh. I didn’t know Levi had an assertive switch.

So, I follow this “bad commercial interior design” Facebook page and-

roommate texted this to me……..

I low-key love the fact that sci-fi has so conditioned us to expect to be hanging out with a bunch of cool space aliens, that legitimate, actual scientists keep proposing the most bizarre, three-blunts-into-the-rotation "theories" to explain the fact we're not.

Some of my favourites include:

Zoo Theory: What if there are loads of aliens out there, but they're not talking to us because of the Prime Directive from Star Trek? (Or because they're doing experiments on us???)

Dark Forest Theory: What if there are loads of aliens out there, but they all hate us and each other so they're all just waiting with a shotgun pointed at the door, ready to open fire on anything that moves?

Planetarium Theory: What if there's at least one alien with mastery over light and matter that's just making it seem to us that the universe is empty to us as, like, a joke?

Berserker Theory: What if there were loads of aliens, but one of them made infinite killer robots that murdered everyone and are coming for us next?!!

Like, the universe is at least 13,700,000,000 years old and 46,000,000,000 light years big. We have had the ability to transmit and receive signals for, what, 100 years, and our signals have so far travelled 200 light years?

The fact is biological life almost certainly has, does, or will develop elsewhere in the universe, and it's not impossible that a tiny amount of it has, does, or will develop in a way that we would understand as "intelligent". But, like, we're realistically never going to know because of the scale of the things involved.

So I'm proposing my own hypothesis. I call it the "Fool in a Field" hypothesis. It goes like this:

Humanity is a guy standing in the middle of a field at midnight. It's pitch black, he can't move, and he's been standing there for ages. He's just had the thought to swing his arms. He swings one of his arms, once, and does not hit another person. "Oh no!" He says. "Robots have killed them all!"

so I started a new anxiety medication this past week and so far it’s been going very well except that I have extremely vivid dreams and apparently sleep texting. I seem to have sent this at 3am and i have no memory of it

I need non autistic people to realise meltdowns are a real debilitating thing that has a serious effect on your mental and physical health NOWWWWW!!! The way its been trivialized and lessened pisses me the fuck off. It's not a tantrum and it doesn't come from "being too weak-willed" it's painful and it's embarrassing AND MOST OF ALL IT'S INVOLUNTARY!! Don't claim to be an ally to autistic or disabled people and then make fun of people who have meltdowns. Literally get the hell out of my sight

Insane to me that the UK government is slowly trying to legislate trans people out of existence and I have not seen a single person talk about it
