hello! i would really, really love to hear your take on that scene of post torture griffith in the wagon throwing himself over casca and then a short moment later imagining domestic life with her? i keep thinking about these scenes and whether it shows how he reciprocates his feelings with casca? it gets used alot in the argument that griffith genuinely wanted to NTR guts or something, though i personally would argue otherwise, i still cant make out what these scenes mean lol it would be great to hear your take!

Hi, thanks for the ask! I have a pretty extensive post about that sequence here, and I get into that whole pre-eclipse section in-depth somewhere in here, in the fourth part of a very long Griffith essay as well lol.

But the quicker rundown on my own take is that the wagon scene is Griffith making Casca an offer in exchange for being taken care of, and subsequently imagining/hallucinating that life in the pond, sans Guts, and trying to kill himself.

The wagon scene happens right after Wyald's devastating summation of how fucked Griffith is now that he can't even survive on his own, and it fits into Griffith's pattern of viewing sex as transactional, and viewing his own worth in terms of what he can do for others. It also happens while Casca is thinking about how weak Griffith is, and how it's her turn to be strong for him, and it's visually laid out as a parallel to the river scene, with Griffith and Casca's roles reversed - now Casca's the one who places a comforting hand on Griffith. And outside you've got Judeau describing taking care of Griffith as an obligation.

This says to me that the important information in this sequence is that Griffith is helpless, desperate, and pitiable. He offers sex to Casca in this scene out of desperation, because he has nothing else to offer, and he perceives himself as a burden.

Then he hears Casca tell Guts to leave, imagines the future he essentially asked her for, that at least from his pov she seems to have agreed to given that she's sending Guts away without her (and it's worth noting that Guts' absence is highlighted more than any other aspect of that nightmare), and this vision of the future drives him to suicide. So I don't consider it a sign that he's attracted to Casca, or reciprocates her feelings at all. It's the complete opposite, if anything. That vision was his version of hell.

And as foreshadowing for the eclipse, I consider it a strong contrast rather than a preview. If Femto's rape of Casca has any relation to this moment at all, it's as a role reversal and show of power after this humiliating weakness, imo.

HAHAHA that's fine, another incredible article and I absolutely agree with all of it. I love the varying portrayals of femininity in Berserk, and while I do grumble about how all the women are attracted to either Guts or Griffith, outside of that they're all three dimensional with their own dreams, goals, and stories.

I think when a lot of male writers try to make feminine but still badass characters they sort of over-correct with the feminine aspects of them, very much like... "She can kick ass while still in heels!" Even if that's not realistic. I love how all of the female characters in Berserk. esp Casca, have this dichotomy where they feel insecure and incomplete for not being feminine enough as dictated by this misogynistic society, feel resentment for society for forcing these feminine ideals on her, and meanwhile are being crushed by the hatred the world has for them for being women. They don't feel like they're trying too hard to be "female characters," they're characters who have realistic reactions to being female in a misogynistic world with all its contradictions. It's kinda wild to have that level of complexity from a cishet male mangaka.

Both Casca getting her period and also Casca's later miscarriage feel very appropriate - in a violently misogynistic society, the very aspects inherent to being a (cis lol) woman can become violence in and of themselves.

ALSO IM GLAD THAT THE AUTHOR BROUGHT UP THE CLEAR DIFFERENCE IN FRAMING BETWEEN THE GUTS X CASCA SEX AND THE GRIFFITH X CHARLOTTE SEX SCENES. On the one hand you have two characters mutually coming together, with Casca's POV at the forefront - on the other hand you have Griffith coercing and dominating Charlotte to reclaim some sense of power after being left by Guts. Also >inb4 this isn't some ship war nonsense ok but the circumstances leading up to each individual sex scene very much set the stage for how they are framed, as below:

There's so much more to say about all the women in Berserk which are outlined in the article so I def recommend reading it. My one very minor gripe is that I think it's a bit harsh on Charlotte LOL because I really like her as well. I do get how she functions as the "ideal woman" in the story, who Griffith overlooks Casca for, who is small and delicate and feminine while Casca feels manly and ugly, but I think it's ultimately Griffith who deserves the approbation for how he uses Charlotte at the expense of the rest of the BotH, Casca included, to fulfil his power fantasies. I think she's very naive and childish, and the more I think about it I think even in the latest arc she's intended to be the sort of "ideal woman," cooking for Griffith even though she's a princess and why tf would she do any cooking LOL. However, I also think it's inevitable that she's going to be in huge trouble soon, once she's outlived her usefulness to Griffith, or if she tries to defy him, which could serve as an interesting commentary on how the "ideal woman" is not afforded any agency and will lose her status if she ever tries to gain some.

Also, this article was written prior to the continuation, but I think it'll be interesting to see Charlotte and Sonia's reaction to Casca's trauma now that she's in Falconia. For both of them, it opens up two possible paths: shake their faith in Griffith and have them, as women, support Casca against him, or have them dig their heels in even more. Miura has been really into the inherent safety of female friendships up to now, so it'll be interesting to see if he keeps with that theme, or if he does change it up a bit.

GRIFFITH + 25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

cut for spoilers, because I know I have a mutual who is freshly reading this series right now... (don't look, Dilly!!)

OK so my reactions to him chronologically can basically be divided into three parts:

(1) Pre-Eclipse: I like him, but I'm also side-eyeing him a bit... What's he up to, exactly?

(2) During the Eclipse: yoooo Griffith what the actual fuck you actual piece of shit!!!!

(3) Post-Eclipse: I HATE HIM AND EVERYTHING HE DOES ENRAGES ME BUT ALSO I REMEMBER HE'S A BIT COMPLICATED AND ALSO IT'S MORE BORING WHEN HE'S NOT AROUND SO WHERE DID HE GO AND CAN HE STOP DISAPPEARING FOR DOZENS OF CHAPTERS AT A TIME PLEASE

So initially I liked Griffith as a character and found him interesting to follow on the page (especially because I was like woah I can't believe how outright gay for Guts he's written, like I knew that people shipped them but I didn't think it would be that unambiguous? Good for him, good for him, I like how bold he is about it) BUT I was also side-eyeing Griffith and distrusting him a bit from the beginning, just because I knew that SOMETHING crazy must have happened to make him and Guts the kind of mortal enemies they were now before we got into the flashbacks, and because I don't trust endlessly ambitious characters trying to make themselves increasingly powerful, and because he did some shitty stuff at times (like making Casca warm Guts up with her body heat because it was a "woman's job")... but I think I remember believing that whatever it was he was still going to be a somewhat redeemable character, or that maybe the antagonism between him and Guts was based on a misunderstanding or something. So whenever the Eclipse stuff happened, I was genuinely shocked and completely horrified (here is the post with my live reaction to that part (x)

I REALLY got mad and really disliked him after that, and it nearly made me quit reading the story, because I wasn't a huge fan of how porny that whole scene was drawn in comparison to how the previous assaults were depicted on the page / wasn't incredibly sure if it felt super in-character of him / necessary for the plot / wasn't sure if Casca would ever be allowed to come back as a character in the story again ... but I also found I couldn't stop reading it for long, I was already way too emotionally invested in the characters and enjoying the Berserk universe as a whole. And stuff like how mutilated and broken and pitiful Griffith was after the torture he endured, and the scene of child him feeling obligated to keep going with his dream because of all the people he'd lead to their deaths already, made him stay more interesting to follow and more complex to contemplate as a character to me.

ANYWAY, the longer the story went on without him showing up again (if I recall correctly it goes on for at least another like 80 chapters more or something before we even see him again after that?) the more I realized that he brings a lot of the intrigue and make the most of the plot stuff that I'm actually most interested in happen, for better or for worse. So even though I was always enraged by him basically just existing and everything he did on the page after that I was also like "!!!! there he is, FINALLY" and glad every time he showed up again, haha. I wish sometimes now that he was still a bit more of a volatile/human character as he was before he made the sacrifices, because that's definitely more interesting to watch... but I can't say I'm not still very intrigued to see what happens in the end / how everything was meant to resolve between him and Casca and Guts, and if we'll ever see a big break in his aloof facade again, even after he tried to ascend to godhood and erase all of those more vulnerable human qualities from himself.

IN SUMMARY he's not my absolute fave in this series, and that's remained the same for me the entire time (it goes Guts>Casca>Griffith for me, and that order of faves hasn't changed all throughout) ... but he's definitely an iconic character, the one that brings a lot of the drama and the intrigue, and for some reason is the one I find most fun to discuss and post and speculate about in the fandom rn

Aha I might sort of have the market cornered on GriffCas, I think ^ ^; I understand why it is a rare pairing tho, so I don't mind so much being one of the few. (Thank you to the other brave souls)

As for order of preference? Hmm, my main ship/throuple will always be my ot3 GriffGutsCa ♡ I love them dearly. And rest assured, no matter what I am working on, they reign supreme haha

Regarding separating them into duos, ahh I have to say I don't really have a preference of one over the other. I suppose it might look that way, given I focus in on GriffCas a lot (at least recently), but really, that is just a matter of supply and demand on my part. There are some phenomenal writers and artist who make fantastic works for both GriffGuts and Gutsca, and most of my plot itches get scratched by them. I can usually find cute/sexy/dark content for either of those ships. For GriffCas, just by its nature, there is less. Like I said before, I understand why that is, but it doesn't stop me from craving it. So, where there is a demand (me) there will be supply (also me) It's its own weird little feedback loop.

I adore all of my favourite pairings/ships, I just get stuck in trends of needing a craving filled and with GriffCas I have by and large had to fill it on my own ^ ^; Though, that is not to say there are not brave individuals who are like minded and want to make stuffs too! I am so happy whenever someone new joins the cult mwahahaha 🙏😈

As for ppl hating me for it; they couldn't possibly hate me more than I do lmao. So it is really not such a big deal, most of the time. They can block me or filter me if they need ^ ^;

he just doesn't understand. has he not been obvious enough? why does he have to do everything around here? he can't decide on whether he fell in love with an idiot or if your taking the absolute piss for the hell of it.

it was hard enough admitting he had fallen for someone to himself, so why did you have to make it even harder for him? he was torn between giving you a peice of his mind or just getting it over with.

it isnt like you didn't notice his attempts either, you threw in indirect teasing here and there, yourself. but you were so sneaky about it that it made him mad as well as flustered and embarrassed.

if its your ego thats forcing you to make up excuses about his behaviour, the two of you will be dead before your feelings are put across.

we all know about guts's ego, especially in the golden age arc, so even if he subconsciously admitted it to himself, there was no way in hell he would actually voice his affections.

it'd likely be brought up by someone else, the two of you being forced to actually do something about this mess of a crush you both had on the other. yet you still feign innocence, it isn't until guts accidentally lets his feelings slip that you both begin to move forward in your relationship.

the two of you sat with everyone, drinking and toasting to one another happily. you drank your booze in slow sips, putting your glass down every so often and engaging in conversation.

guts sat next to you, not drinking nor talking. merely staring. at you, in particular. you felt his gaze on you, yet you ignored it all the same, the feeling of him knowing that you were aware of how much of a sticky situation he was in with his feelings making him incredibly annoyed.

but when you laughed at something someone had said, covering your mouth as your laughter was gentle and melodious, full of gentleness and never mockery, his annoyance disappeared.

he was never able to stay mad at you, no matter how hard he tried.

this " small " crush of his got in the way of his swordsman ship too, thoughts of you flooding into his mind whenever he would wield his sword. images of your smiling face and pure joy took over his thoughts, making him lose balance whilst daydreaming more than once. it normally ended with him sulking up against a tree.

he sighed and took your cup, sipping from the same place you had placed your lips. he averted his gaze from you, now blankly staring forward as he fought of a light blush from his own actions.

you noticed this and blinked, " would you like a drink? i can get you one, if you like. " you smile at him as he internally groans.

anymore of this and he doubts his capability of keeping his sanity.

it did put her in a frustrated mood whenever you so cleverly avoided her extremely obvious, and almost pitiful, attempts at making a move on you.

she would often go pout in a corner, and if anyone besides you interrupted her pouting time after her plans failed, she would snap.

if it was you, that was another story.

her mood would be lifted, even though it had been your density that put her in that state in the first place.

from helping you with errands, giving lingering touches, being protective, noticeably nicer and softer towards you nothing seemed to tell you that she was so deeply in love with you.

it was more like obsession at this point, but let's not get into that.

you would always make up excuses on her behalf, " shes only trying to be helpful ", " its her way of being a good captain, of course she'll be kind to one of those she leads ", " she must truly see me as her family for her to be fond of me enough to be with me when she can " my fucking ass. you loved her and she loved you, but you subconsciously worried about her simply being friendly so you forced yourself to see it as such when it was so much for different.

what made it even harder for her to blame you was how you always smiled at her, eyes always filled with warmth and innocence that she so desperately wanted to protect.

so, instead she sulked about how your enchanting nature had her in a chokehold.

but maybe she wasn't being forward enough, she wondered.

you sat up against the trunk of an oak tree, the calm wind combing through your hair and the soft sunshine reflecting on your face. you were so tired, running errands here and there all day. yes, it may have been your fault for being unable to say ' no ' to people asking you for favours due to your caring nature, although it tired you out.

casca worried for your kindness.

she saw you up against the tree as she snuck a glance at you, lightly gulping down her nervousness. she wondered if the reason she was unable to win you over was that you were too angelic for someone like her, too polite and sweet.

she walked towards you as she sat down, you opening your eyes to look up at her as she asks, " tired? " you nod in response, letting your head nod off in exhaustion, " I've been asked to do favours all day. not sure i can take anymore running around. " you joke as she takes your exhaustion dead seriously, her lips forming a thin line.

" you're too sweet, " she blurts out, pinching your cheek as you take it as a friendly gesture, " if anyone bothers you too much by putting their own lot of work on you, tell me. ill sort them out for you. " she promises as you giggle at her protective reaction, " no, its alright. i like helping out where i can. " you smile, and she almost forgets her troubles completely, and she would have too if it weren't for your tired eyes.

you sighed and averted your gaze forward, slowly closing your eyes as she stared at the sky.

it wasnt until she felt the weight of your head on her shoulder that she looked back at you.

smiling, she lifted one of your hands to her lips as she kissed your knuckles, finding a new confidence within herself to know that you let your guard down enough to fall asleep when you were with her.

maybe things weren't all so bad, it was cute seeing you make up excuses to yourself anyways.

he found it cute.

griffith is known for being straight forward without the need for words, his actions doing the talking for him, but with you, it wasn't so simple.

it wasnt because of anything cliché, you didnt think he was too good or that you didnt deserve his affections and all that sappy stuff, it was just that you weren't sure how to react.

sure, you liked griffith, but you preferred to keep your feelings to yourself.

you were a private person, even if you were sweet and teasing at times, so you flat out ignored all advances griffith made towards you.

he didn't make them obvious, but they were noticeable enough for you to realise.

and you indirectly shut him down every time.

it honestly shocked him a great deal, why wouldn't you want him to love you and give you his affection? it didn't make sense.

but it charmed him even more, making his newfound admiration something far bigger than a simple crush.

you were sharp and pure, his realisation of you having no fear yet no malice towards him had him wrapped around your finger. it was basically an addiction. a very unhealthy one that you were subconsciously aware of, but ignored.

he wanted to test his fun, to see what you were able to ignore and smoothly shut down without others noticing and what would make you flush.

he found that nothing did the latter.

but we all know he isn't one to give up so easily.

he was so determined to win your affections the way you had won his,

you sat behind him, your hands weaving through his curly hair as you fiddled with the soft strands. you hummed a light tune as the fresh and scented flowers the two of you sat in the middle of swayed around your legs, vibrant blossoms as far as your eyes could see.

griffith had his eyes closed as he listened to your calming hum, leaning back on his palms as he enjoyed the feeling of your dainty fingers on his scalp.

as the gust of wind hit the two of you, you remove your hands from his hair as he slightly pouts at the loss of contact. he suddenly leans back onto you, the side of your heads pressed against eachothers as he lays his weight on you.

you dont react at this, letting him use you as a pillow with nothing to break the silence, until he feels the need to hear your voice, " y/n. "

" griffith. "

" have i told you of my end goal? " he asks, side eyeing you as you shrug, " you've told me of it briefly before, is it to have your own kingdom? " you questioned as he nods, " and when i do, will you rule alongside me? " he stares at you as you stare back, your eyes innocent and round.

he wasn't sure if he wanted to corrupt you or if he wanted to protect your purity.

" i do not care for ruling a kingdom, but if it's support you seek, i will be of as much use as i can. " you smile warmly as he carries on staring at you. most would have been unsettled by his blank gaze, yet you welcomed him in his every aspect, you didn't shy away and you didn't fear him, but you didn't hate him for a pitiful reason, either.

" you being on my side is more than enough support, it's more than id even ask for. "

If you don't mind me asking but... why do you ship Rivamika (Levi x Mikasa) and what is it so special about them to you in Attack on titan?

Hello !

Thanks for asking me this kian, it’s rare to see people not shipping rivamika but just being curious about it instead of hating on it !

So, when I started AOT, shipping didn’t even cross my mind. I was just enjoying the show and that’s all. Then the forest moment where Levi grabbed Mikasa came and I remember that I found this scene weird and tense as hell. Levi was acting in such a strange way towards Mikasa that it surprised me, especially from such a « cold », in appearance at least, character.

When I finished the three seasons I couldn’t help but think about those two characters and their development. I had the same feeling of « chemistry »that I had with Armin and Annie in season 1. Also, I actually love to read and one thing I noticed is that the love stories I like the most are the ones between people who parallel and understand each other, yet bring something else to the other. I wrote an analysis called « Love in SNK » if this dimension catches your interest. For me they are the only ones capable to understand each other the best, they have similar childhood traumas and personalities. If someone helps Mikasa in her character development, it’s Levi. He is just suited for her, and by being strong but also very caring, so is Mikasa for him.

Anyway, since season 1, I’ve always felt very uncomfortable with Eremika, it seemed forced and awkward to me and I couldn’t ship it even tho I liked their cute childhood moments. Beside their shared history and Mikasa’s affection, I didn’t see any reason to ship them. It just doesn’t felt like those two characters were created/written for each other.

So why Rivamika ? Here is a brief list of reasons:

1) Eren, Mikasa and Levi parallel Berserk characters, Griffith, Casca and Guts. Isayama admitted that Mikasa is inspired from Casca.

2) They are badass together, and that’s not something random, since Levi has 2 in teamwork but is a real devil with Mikasa by his side.

3) Levi helps Mikasa’s development, she realizes that she is too impulsive and he is the only one able to calm her down (with Armin best boy)

4) Mikasa hated Levi in the first place. Then she started to respect and to care for him. Enemies to lovers is just my bread.

5) Levi’s damn behavior. He is always so soft to Mikasa even when she acts recklessly, and even justifies some of his actions to her.

I saw in a post that you said Griffith made a sexual advance on Casca as a transactional trade for taking care of him, but I don’t think Griffith wants to be taken care of in the first place. I think the advance was supposed to project his hypermasculine assertion and competence after being pitied by Casca. He wanted to be able to ease Casca’s anxiety (shaking) as he had once been able to do. He hates that she’s taking care of him.

I don't think Griffith wants to be taken care of, he definitely hates it, but I think he understands that it's a necessity and he's got no choice now.

But I do partly agree, I think that Griffith's advance is definitely in part an attempt to comfort Casca and reassert his role as someone stronger, who can provide comfort to her - though while it's for himself, I also think it's partly for Casca, to keep her at his side. I get into it in a lot of depth in this post if you're interested in my really long involved take lol.

But basically I think Griffith's intent here was both to reassure himself and Casca by filling the role for her that he used to fill, but with a sexual twist to tempt her to stay by his side, because he needs her to. And it ends with him feeling even more pathetic and weak and humiliated as Casca comforts him instead.

A. Griff and Char need a ship name because I’m too lazy to keep typing out Griffith x Charlotte. B. I know it’ll never happen in canon but I was thinking of what would happen if they had kids. I imagine they have 1 or 2 and they would be really cute. I’m not sure if Griff as Femto could have kids but I can dream

Well we could try to make Griffchar popular but I don’t think it’ll catch on and unfortunately Griffith x Charlotte is the closest we got to an actual ship name

And actually my Griffith sensei reminded me that Griff was once again reborn into a human vessel so the way he is currently, he most likely could conceive a child. Charlotte also has a bit of baby fever and would probably want to have babies as soon as they’re married. I could actually see it happening

Like can you imagine the series ending after 30+ years of hard angst, Griff and Guts not surviving in the end for whatever reason, and Casca somehow being given her son the Moonlight Boy back and Charlotte having birthed Lord Griffith’s one and only son...

And the manga ends with the two boys becoming friends 😭😭😭 It ends happily and the whole story comes full circle

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED/READ BERSERK.

when I started shipping it if I did: Back in 2015, not long after I started reading the series and watching clips of the anime.

my thoughts: Jesus, where do I start? They’re one of the few rivals-to-lovers couples I actually like. I’ve always found their dynamic with Griffith fascinating – as it’s because of him they met and rivalled, but also because of him they fell in love, and also because of him they separated and reunited multiple times. Guts sees Casca as the one thing that kept him from throwing himself completely into the darkness and rage that threatened to consume him, and Casca, even after the Eclipse, knows he’s suffering and risking life and limb to protect her while she’s in her childlike state.The imagery in Casca’s dreamscape/uncsciouness struck a deep cord with me. The fact Casca saw herself as a broken, hollowed out doll in a coffin with Guts (the dog) protecting and moving her along broke my heart then and still does whenever I think about it. When Casca regained her memories and sanity, I was crying for a straight five minutes, and then screaming when she became traumatised again upon reuniting with Guts. For Godsake Mimura, let these two have a happy moment for once! However, with the kind of series Berserk is, I think at best these two could have a bitter-sweet ending where they lose so much and only gain just enough to make their lives liveable…if they even make it out alive by the end of the series.

What makes me happy about them: whenever they’ve had a peaceful or happy moment together. Also, when Casca regained her memories and smiled at hearing Guts’ name, it just confirmed that her feelings for him never faded.

What makes me sad about them: Everything that happened during and after the Eclipse, and basically Casca’s entire dreamscape/unconscious mind.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: I haven’t read much fanfic for them, so I don’t really have a pet peeve for them.

things I look for in fanfic: Again, haven’t read much fanfic for them, but if I had to look for something it would either be hurt/comfort, Casca-regains-her-memories scenarios, or fluffy oneshots with post-Eclipse Casca.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: For Guts, I can’t think of anyone. For Casca I’d definitely say Judeau (if he were still alive).

My happily ever after for them: Both them learn to cope with the trauma they went through during the Eclipse, confront Griffith, and they either a) die together trying to take down Griffith or b) both take down Griffith and Casca gets to inflict the finishing blow on him (just the thought of that is cathartic). Then they go off together, (battered, bruised and scarred) into a more peaceful future.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: Guts is the big spoon, but sometimes Casca is when Guts is feeling insecure.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Sword training or just sitting together on a hillside, alone and away from everyone else.

Give me a character & I will tell you

How I feel about this character: I have so many thoughts on Guts, but I’ll try to keep this short and I apologise if this becomes a tangent. If one were to take a glance at Guts, they’d just say that he’s just another roided-out, rage-filled character, but upon closer inspection, they’d see he’s so much more. He is one of the best developed and most ‘human’ manga characters I have ever come across. His growth becomes compelling to watch and follow, and I grew so invested in him that when he falls, I fall with him, and when he triumphs, I either cheer for him or cry tears of joy.There are very few characters in any media where I feel the rage humanizes rather than vilifies them. By that I mean a character’s rage is often used to make them go head first into committing often violent or inhuman acts, but that’s about it. With Guts, it’s a different story. His rage lets us see more to him than just a tremendous anger. When he is enraged, we see his suffering, vulnerability, and will. The emotion is so powerful for Guts that just staring at the infamous double page from chapter 94 makes me scared of him. In that image he’s both as monstrous as the demons he slays, but also so human because he looks like he’s in absolute agony and misery. Of course, all of this helped greatly by Mimura’s legendary art style.He hated when someone sacrifices their life for him because he feels unworthy, and he hated companionship for more or less the same reason. However, over time, he comes to accept the help and companionship of others as he sees more worthy in himself and hope for the future. Finally, despite his brash and cynical attitude, we also see he hasn’t given up on his empathy, and he displays it numerous times throughout the manga. For all this an many more reasons, I love Guts.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Casca.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Either Schierke or Zodd.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Not sure if this unpopular, but I like Guts as he is now - not on his quest for revenge against Griffith and focused on helping Casca with his new-found companions. He’s more stoic and introspective; I feel he’s naturally grown into the character he is now. However, there has to be a showdown with him and Griffith, it’d be weird for the whole series if there wasn’t.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: It’s very wishful thinking, but I hope that he and Casca can resume their relationship and somehow work through all the trauma they’ve been through. I also hope he (and Casca if possible) gets to have a final epic showdown against Griffith.

my OTP: Gutsca to the [hopefully] bittersweet end.

my cross over ship: Guts x happiness?
