N/ purely self-indulgent hhh, plus I always wanted to do something like this when I read a good fic. First attempt at making a webcomic.

Based on @rayshippouuchiha's ShikaNaru fic "The Brightest Flame (The Darkest Shadow)" :D

Summary:

Shikamaru’s never felt chakra so vibrant and warm before.

The log that Naruto’s been punching shatters clean apart, reduced to little more than splinters under the devastating force of his chakra enhanced blow.

Shocked and more than a bit startled, Shikamaru wheezes loudly, the sound carrying across the clearing and causing Naruto to abruptly turn and look in his direction.

And in that single moment Shikamaru is lost.

...because Shikamaru is a Nara to the core, is the strongest they've seen in generations, and the Nara have always been a clan of Shadows after all.

and what does the shadow crave more than the light?

Naruto, with his ocean blue eyes and his golden hair swaying in the breeze his attack had created, shines as bright as the sun itself.

And Shikamaru intends to have him.

"Time for a new plan." Because, really, there's no way life with Naruto is going to be any form of quiet or normal.

....Shikamaru's entire life plan has to be thrown out the window and then redrawn from scratch.

Either way Shikamaru's not actually all that upset about his entire life being thrown into an abrupt upheaval.

After all, convincing Naruto to marry him as soon as possible will be well worth the effort.

Naruto's pretty sure this is the closest they've ever actually been to one another outside of the few times they've been paired up to spar in class.

"What're you doing after this?" Shikamaru asks, one hand coming out of his pocket to reach out and play idly with the dangling sleeve of Naruto's kimono.

"After training?" Naruto keeps one eye on Shikamaru's hand...

"More like for the rest of your life," Shikamaru says. "But sure, we can start with training."

Naruto blinks.

.....[Naruto's] not really sure what, exactly, is happening here but he thinks this might mean Shikamaru wants to be his friend now.

Ah my sweet summer child.

Not an exact play by play of what was written in the fic, only the gist I guess and the moment that rly stuck in my head and got me giggling in my pillow.

My love for the "oblivious pure(?) mc and their darker, possessive s/o" trope has struck again. Couldn't've stopped myself from finishing this even when sleep-deprived, which I currently am right now. Had fun challenging myself with this too and might attempt it again with a future chapter or other works depending on my schedule. I'm occupied with studying this month so making something time extensive like this won't happen for awhile yet.

I love being a Naruto fan with maladaptive daydreaming disorder. It’s so fun. I will make up the most random head cannons about every single one of the characters, and the more I like the character the more I tend to project my own identity into them.

For example. I am obsessed with Shikamaru. I love him. I’m IN love with him even. I headcannon him as someone with he/they pronouns, he’s bisexual, and hes also effeminate. He loves wearing nail polish and only had negative opinions on women when he was younger as a kid because he has a bad relationship with his mother, so he kind of just assumed all women were like that because kids are dumb and perceive the world based on how their parents raise them. However he also has an estranged relationship with his father (I have my own theory as to why and if y’all want me to make a post on why I think this then lmk). So he also has daddy issues. He secretly enjoys fashion. He had a massive crush on Naruto at some point because he has a thing for bold, blonde haired people with light colored eyes (hence why he also like temari- the man has a type regardless of gender lmao). I also think he liked ino when they were younger but that crush faded away pretty quickly.

I’m gonna make a post when I feel like it for the other characters and my weird headcannons for them, but I just felt like talking abt Shikamaru in this specific post because this blog is mainly about him.

What IF Kakashi and Yamato had played dirty to convince Sasuke to come back with Team 7?

Orochimaru: It’s useless. Nothing you say will convince Sasuke of returning to the… Sasuke? What are you doing?

Sasuke: *looks at some photos Yamato gave him that Kakashi took over the past years* What the hell are these? Is that… Naruto?

Yamato: Oh yes. Kakashi-Senpai told me that Naruto has grown quite popular with boys and girls. He’s actually gathered even more fangirls than you and three girls have actually kissed him. Not to mention how one girl even went as far as to ask Naruto to impregnate her. Of course, Naruto didn’t actually understand what she was asking.

Sasuke: WHAT?!

Yamato: Yes, well… *leans closer to Sasuke and starts whispering* ummm, let’s just keep this between us. But, Kakashi-Senpai told me to warn you that Gaara is completely smitten by Naruto. It’s only a matter of time before, he proposes to him.

Sasuke: Gaara?! You have got to be kidding me, right?

Yamato: It’s not just him. Sai has taken quite a liking to Naruto and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen him sneaking glances at his butt when he thought no one was looking. Then, there’s Shikamaru, Rock Lee, Neji, Kiba, Shino, Sora, Kankuro and probably some more boys and girls that I’m missing.

Sasuke: … I’m not going. I trust Naruto and think he’ll be faithful to me.

Yamato: *pulls out an envelope that Kakashi told him to only give to Sasuke in case of an emergency*

Sasuke: *opens the envelope and sees shirtless pictures of Naruto*

Kabuto: Sasuke?!

Orochimaru: Sasuke?!

Sasuke: *after he regains consciousness* I’m leaving.

Orochimaru: What? What do you mean?

Sasuke: I’m going back to the Hidden Leaf Village. You’ve taught me everything there is to teach me. I see no reason to stay with you. *appears right next to Naruto and pulls him closer to him and glares at Sai*

Naruto: Sasuke! You’re going to come back to Team 7! Yes!

Sakura: Sasuke, I’m so glad to hear that!

Yamato: I’m happy to see that our mission was a success.

Sai: *glares back at Sasuke but, quickly puts on a fake smile as he turns to Naruto* Naruto, perhaps you’ll be able to teach me more about what friends are.

Naruto: *grins adorably* Sure, Sai. After all, you’re also my friend and a part of Team 7. I’d be glad to.

Sasuke: (jealous Sasuke interrupts Sai’s and Naruto’s conversation) Naruto, I’m tired. Let’s head back to the village quickly. How about I treat you to some ramen?

Team 7 starts walking away.

Orochimaru: Just what the hell was in those last pictures anyways?! *takes a look at the bloodied photos of a shirtless Naruto training* *sigh* I should’ve known.

NARUTO HEADCANNONS

Naruto has ADHD, okey, no One can tell me i'm wrong, he Is hiperactive, he can't focus, and even if he does he's brain start thinking of something else

Naruto isn't normal with hugs or being touched, so when anyone touches he flinch

Naruto Is actually pretty smart, in his interested! He don't care about history, but he sure cares about traps, like he did all those pranks on people, and they we're really good!

He loves plants!

He loves Animals too! Every animali loves him back! Except Cats

When he Is tired/mad, he's eyes glow Red and he wouldn't talk or anything, Just stare at the Person Who tried to talk to him, and probably would sleep on someones shoulder ( probably One of the Boys, except Sasuke as Sasuke hates him) and It would make everyone confuse, as Naruto never touche someone on his free will

naruto Is short, like, REALLY short, probably from his bad habit on eating

He don't suffer Hunger After 4 days, It has to be 5 or 6

He sleep when he Is sick, like, he could sleep for 48 h

He wake up at 4 am, goes to someone of his Friends, and ask the random shit ever, like: "why we humans treat other Animals like Animals and not like humans if we are Animals too?" Or "how much would an elephant voice raise of he try to Scream?" ( and most of the times he would go ask these things to Shikamaru)

When he cries, and laugh, that Person would Better be running

he Is actually AN exceltten cooker! Just don't have Money ti buy the ingrediente tho

He would Say Sorry, Always, even if Is not his fault

Knows sign language

Knows greek ( as the nine tailed Fox probably only knew It before )

Knew Kurama, though It was Just a voice in his head though

Speak to himself when no One else Is around, like expalining why he Is doing something when no One can hear him, make him feel safe

Iruka Umino : You're his first so when you bury your face in his neck or chest he needs a little minute or two to process that you're touching him. Willingly and physically - oof O.O But he loves it so much because like this he feels like he can protect you from everything the world send your way

Sai : He always takes such a great intake of air when he feels your hand press on his naked lower back and caress his pale skin. You've always been with him from what he recalls and he never manages to keep a conversation with you while your hands work on his shoulders and back. It just puts him to sleep right away, and that's good because he deserves it

Gaara : The wheels in his brain just stop when he hears you say the words "Dance with me" just after you put on some music and pulled pulls him flush against your body and asked him for a slow dance. His brain gets surrounded by so much questions like "Is he worthy of your time ?", "Will he disappoint you ?", "Will you hate him after you discover he CAN'T dance ?" that his brain overheats and he stands there motionless while you try to dance with him. Fortunately a kiss on the cheek and it's good he works again, but he is as red as his hair

Hashirama Senju : You tell him so much that he is strong that he sometimes forgets how strong you actually are. So when he sees you fighting an opponent fiercely, he can't help but look at you in awe as if you were Madara himself the strongest kunoichi he has ever seen. He just 🤩 and shower you with praises

Tobirama Senju : He may be really gifted to hide his feelings but gosh he can't help his face from showing how stuned he is when he sees you acting possessive towards him. Like the glare you send those people who dares to get to close to him. Like he could just ask them to leave him the fuck off but he just loves to see you this mad... it's kinda hot you know... but this he won't tell you
