Drawtober 2023 - Day 3

The third frame in my 3 Kiss Meme drawing. More under the cut.

The Tenth Family's celebration had been going well. They'd managed to negotiate a share in the city's profits, supplying highly trained guards and antique experts to the other nine families - at a price, naturally - and establishing themselves as equals.

Mr. Wang was pleased. Even the fact that Zhang Qiling - long thought imprisoned in some foreign country - had returned to his place as head of the first family didn't ruin his triumph. Even the fact that Wu Xie had managed to sneak a spy into the Wang Family wasn't a problem.

After all, that spy had eyes for Wang Cen's little girl and she quite clearly had eyes for him. She'd do her duty towards the clan and seduce Li Cu into joining them properly. After all, marriage ties between the families were a long-standing tradition.

Noting Shen Qiong enter the room, trailed by that nuisance of an operative, Wang Can, he smiled, raising his eyebrow at his niece to remind her what she needed to do. Show Wu Xie she had Li Cu under her thumb and the rest would follow.

She barely looked at him, scanning the room for Li Cu and finding him not far from his uncle? cousin? father? - Mr. Wang didn't know and didn't care. Without hesitation she stalked up. Grabbed Li Cu. Kissed him. All while Wang Can watched with that sardonic smile he got when he wasn't pleased.

"Ohhh, is that how it is," Wang Pangzi murmured to the pair beside him, grinning broadly, the aggravating bastard.

Mr. Wang was about to move forward, to pretend to smooth things over and make an important suggestion. But then Shen Qiong turned back towards Wang Can and kissed him.

"Seems so," Zhang Qiling answered, while Mr. Wang tried desperately not to have a conniption, fully expecting Li Cu to lose his temper.

Except that was when Shen Qiong stepped aside and handed Wang Can off to Li Cu, who kissed him in turn with just as much passion as he'd kissed Shen Qiong. All while she gave Mr. Wang a rude gesture.

Then they were gone and Mr. Wang was at a complete loss for what to do or say. He stared after them, enraged, fully planning murder.

He would have done it, too, if Wu Xie hadn't said, "You know, I hear three way marriages are all the rage these days."

its entirely unethical that there are no monster hunter/svsss crossovers. the system manager messes up and just shunts shen yuan to a holding world while trying to sort shit out, and SY just wakes up in the middle of the darj snowfields (mh:s) as a wyverian and gets taken in by hakum village. SY would go batshit insane for the whole taming monsters and keeping the balance thing, especially once he meets the hunters guild research people, and just goes 'yes, thats what i want to do' and then he proceeds to become a hunter/scholar and travel around all of the known world and into the new world.

he'd have two different sets of armor/weapons/gear of different purposes, one for all out hunting and another for quick quiet movements for field research.

some monster friends he has are a Najarala, Lagiacrus, Nerscylla, Tobi-Kadachi, Paolumu, and Beotodus (going off of MH:stories with having 6 party members total).

he just starts exploring the hoarfrost reach (23 years post system fuck up) when the system fixes the problem but then it looks at the replacement soul it chose and is just like 'oh. oh no. he's competent now. fuck.' but it cant go back on it cause of its user policy and so its forced to take This Guy and put him into the new situation, and unfortunately for the system all of SY's soul bound stuff goes with him, which means his wyverian body and his monster familiars.

the system CAN however make all of his familiars be deaged into eggs.

eventually the beast peak lord picks him off the street like a wet rag because this weird feral kid refuses to give her the eggs that he's hoarding, but shes never seen these eggs before and she really wants to study them, so she just forcibly adopts the 'kid.' he's not a kid, hes just a wyverian, who can get really really old even without cultivation, so he's like the human equivalent of a 16-year-old when he's actually around 44.

anyways, liu qingge is absolutely whipped for his weird shixiong who is both older and younger than him, who can delicately flip over a massive Earth Boaring Slime Muskrat with his spear, and who can smash a Tiger Footed Armadillo Dragon in the face with a massive hammer that shatters its skull, and who is so excited to sit down in a small roadside teahouse and rant about trophic cascade, and Liu Qingge has no idea what that is but Shen Qingre (clear restlessness/zeal) is extremely pretty when he's passionate.

Oh, terrible fun thought: what if the previous Qiong Ding Peak actually approved of Shen Jiu? Like, oh, this kid is driven and ruthless, why can't Yue Qingyuan be more like that and less soft-hearted?

Because I think Shen Jiu would hold this kind of approval over Yue Qi's head, not knowing what the Qiong Ding Peak Lord did to his head disciple. "Ha, you abandoned me for this cushy life and your own teacher likes ME more than you." If Shen Jiu had heard what Yue Qingyuan confessed to Shen Yuan at Mai Gu Ridge, I think he would have torn the previous Qiong Ding Peak Lord's throat out with his teeth.

MAYBE Yue Qi's imprisonment in the Ling Xi Caves actually saved his life and the previous Qiong Ding Peak Lord was a really nice person who tried his best in a terrible situation. That's totally possible. We just don't know. It's possible that Yue Qi's cultivation system was so messed up that destroying it and rebuilding was the only known option to save this kid's life. But a year of solitary confinement seems... incredibly cruel to me. Was that really necessary? It does sound as though he was at least visited, but it's unclear by who or how often.

But in any interpretation / AU where the Qiong Ding Peak Lord just sucks as a person, him actually LIKING Shen Jiu would be particularly painful. Ouch.
