In light of recent events surrounding Wilbur’s actions towards Shelby, not only have his former discord mods abandoned his channel as well as all (if not most of) his twitch mods quitting, the former Wilbur soot subreddit is now dedicated to Wilbur Wright, the inventor of the plane.
Let me introduce you to this beautiful artwork, what a way to memorise such a glorious inventor.
Likely case is that the subreddit will soon be archived in the next couple of days or weeks to prevent it from becoming lost media in the future.
To add on, Wilbur has been hands off with his moderation and community for years, leaving many things up to his staff. With the permissions they have, if his mods wanted to and if he ever dared to stream again, they could overthrow him and prevent his chat from being properly moderated. So as you can imagine, and rightly so, they’ve revolted too.

For like the past week and a half I've been seeing a quite a bit of content on here, but particularly on TikTok, of people being like 'oh you should've known Wilbur was a bad guy from his music and the characters he made' and like??? Stop doing that?? Do you know how close to victim blaming you are getting??
This man flaunted himself as a woman supporting feminist, a conscientious friend, and has stated before that his songs were made to be satire. (Which I don't believe now.) Saying someone should've known he was an abuser because of his music or one popular character out of the many he's made, which he didn't even write by himself, is WILD. Even some of his real life friends didn't know, what makes you think a random fan would?
Tone down the holier-than-thou attitude and focus on the literal victims that are still coming forward instead, thanks.

Okay okay hopefully last thing about Wilbur Soot.
Looking back at his lyrics (yes I hyperannylized this shit, I have no regrets) it all makes sense now.
I never wanted to say anything like this, but the lyrics “All this over a kiss. You weren’t there, so why you pressed by this?” Always stood out as kind of shitty. Again, that’s just my opinion and it probably means nothing in the current situation, I just wanted to get that off my chest.
Besides this, his lyrics in general just kind of seem shitty. He wrote about abuse and horrible people. How jealousy can drive anger and abuse. He wrote about everything he was. Angry, shitty, jealous, and abusive.
We all know Shubble and Niki aren’t the only victims. That’s obvious. The people he was close to, his friends, though they may not have spoken out, they were manipulated too.
Just like Billzo said in his response. He saw Wilbur be an ass towards his friends. He saw manipulation. But nothing could be said thanks to the platform he once had.
Looking back at old streams, too, there’s so much stuff we passed off as brotherly. We didn’t know any better, of course. That’s not our fault. It’s Wilbur’s. He tricked us. He tricked his friends.
Remember when Tommy said he felt uncomfortable around Wilbur, and he just came in and pushed Tommy away. No? I didn’t either. Because we were tricked into believing that Wilbur was being helpful. Manipulation at its finest.
Everything was just so fucked up. And there may have been signs, as I’ve just pointed out, but we didn’t notice. Nobody could have noticed. There was no way anyone could take one look at him and have gone “this guys an abuser”.
Anyone can say they knew all along, but did they? Sure, they could have been skeptical but that doesn’t mean they were sure he was an ass. In all reality, we were all just fans who were fooled by him into believing he did, and could do, nothing wrong.
That’s not anybody’s fault but his.
One final thing, nobody who was involved with the abuser owes anything. No apology. No statement. They don’t even have to acknowledge the situation.
It’s their lives. But the fuck out of it. They owe nobody anything. Let them cope.
Let them find their stance on the situation. If they choose to say something, good for them. If they choose move on and never say anything about it, that’s not our business.
Leave them alone

Just an update if anyone wants to know what I've done to distance and remove wlbr from my life and Internet presence and supporting shelby
Deleted an aesthetic board I made with over 1,000 pins
Deleted his music off ALL of my playlists and of group/duo playlists that included him I added that it was only the character that was being represented in the description(unless it was a playlist completely centered around his music then it was deleted)
Deleted that music was catheric in a way to explain how I was feeling in a way. I also made sure none of their music would play again as I don't want to give him more fame.
I read many statements by other streamers and YouTubers who previously knew wlbr and expanded my knowledge of what he did.
I began unsubscribing and unfollowing him on all platforms and went through and followed all of Shelby's.
I then went and watched some of my favorite Shubble videos of when I watched her to show support and even newer things from recent Minecraft servers(as I love those to)
I hope this can help others who are feeling so overwhelmed they have no clue what to do and just put all everything that others have suggested in a list. Also:
There is no excuse for still supporting him at all, even if you're hyper fixated or have a special interest with any of the content he makes. I have ADHD and autism and have looked up to this man for 3 years and have completely dropped him. There is no excuse at all.
Also Shelby is a 10000% better creator and is literally so fun and kind and amazing. She has immaculate energy. Support her guys, really please do.

I haven’t seen anyone make a post like this about Wilbur soot, and I want to, because this specific thing is important to me.
First off, support Shelby, we love and support Shelby here, she’s such a strong and brave person and I’m so fucking glad that she said something and now we all know about this.
Now
I do not support Wilbur soot at all. He’s a piece of shit. I don’t fucking like or support or want to see him. However I love his character
C!wilbur has always been so important to me. And since I haven’t seen anyone else say this, I want to.

It’s okay if you still want to read about the character
Cc Wilbur has no creative liberty over the character anymore, especially since the dream smp has ended.

But if that character holds a really important place to you, and you genuinely care about the CHARACTER, it’s perfectly okay to still like them.
You looking at fanart of the character doesn’t give cc!wilbur any money or attention at all. Same with fanfiction
And in my eyes at least, as long as you aren’t supporting that piece of shit, if you want to enjoy a fictional character, that’s okay.
I’m still going to make fanart and write and I still have headcanons, and I also hate the content creator so much.

i can’t be the only one who thinks the response to the whole situation with wilbur was so strange. saying you hope his mental health gets worse is such a weird way to respond because unless he has a chance to truly become a better person, the cycle is just going to continue and he’s going to hurt more people. there’s no reason to sugar coat it, you can tell by his solo music that he struggles with very bad mental illness and it’s pretty clear that he has some kind of addiction and if you’ve struggled with either of those things you know a) how debilitating it is and b) how easy it is to hurt those around you when you’re in that state. if you really care about victims, you would not be enabling him to hurt more people by saying you hope he gets worse.
you cannot say you’re a mental health advocate nor that you support victims if you wish an unstable man becomes more unstable. this is not me excusing wilbur’s actions, nor trying to explain them away but instead giving an explanation FOR them.
i have struggled with debilitating mental illness, i hurt myself and those around me and fucked up my life and had i not gotten help i would’ve continued hurting more people and eventually i would’ve taken my own life. this is not me supporting wilbur or trying to excuse his actions, but not only does no one deserve the kind of hate he has been getting, the world would truly be a better place if instead of wanting everyone we don’t like to die, we encouraged people to actually get better and find happiness. people have been talking about him as if he has no feelings, as if he’s not a person, and that’s just not right. people are not black and white and neither is morality and we have no insight into his perspective.
i am so proud of shelby for speaking up because that takes a lot of bravery and i fully condemn what wilbur did, there is no excuse, and she is under absolutely no obligation to forgive him regardless of whether he changes or not. i genuinely wish shelby nothing but the best, a lifetime full of happiness and love. tbh this post is not about her, it’s about the fans who responded the way they did. for anyone reading this, if you ever hurt people when you’re at your lowest, i truly hope people treat you with more empathy and understanding than they treated wilbur with.
and in terms of the statement he put out, yes it was shit but he is in a band that is definitely in some kind of contract with his record label. of course they will stop him from saying anything beyond purely addressing that he’s seen the allegations, they do not want to risk getting sued by saying something that could be used against them.
i really think we should treat others with more love, respect, and care, than i’ve seen many people doing recently because at the end of the day we all only get one go on earth, this is everyone’s first time living, and we all deserve a chance to be truly happy. i hope you all have the grace to look to the people around you and be kind to them, not because they’ve proved they deserve it, but because kindness is the most valuable thing we can give to others.

Regarding my SBI/DSMP Fics
TW: Abuse, Trauma, and Mentions of Suicide.
With all that has happened, I did want to come out here and make my stance clear. I will always stand with Shelby (Shubble) and all of the victims who are speaking out against Will Gold (Wilbur Soot). If you still support that bastard, unfollow me and leave my blog and whatever small community I made.
I've already stated this is my Discord channel, but I want to put it here too.
For me, c!Wilbur is so far removed from cc!Wilbur that I don't connect the two. The characters are vessels for my own characterizations and stories. It's a bit like writing Supernatural*, Twilight, or Hazbin Hotel fanfics. I don't support the guy, monetarily or otherwise, he does not interact with fanfics, I have plans to be very vocal that I'm on Shelby's side no matter what/make it clear that what Will did is wrong, and I don't use his real life events as plots in my stories. At least, I certainly don't try to. It's why I typically change traits about the characters. (I.e. Tommy is shorter, Phil is taller, Techno is bulky, and Wilbur always has golden/hazel eyes.)
I'm aware that it's a tad different because it's rp and not something like a full on book or an actor in a movie, but DSMP has also been over for over two years and the characterizations I make for SBI are not at all based on the CCs. Real life Techno isn't a literal terrorist, Phil ain't a father married to a goddess, Tommy is not a traumatized child soldier, and Wilbur isn't suicidal and blowing up countries.
I think I'll likely focus more on Techno, Tommy, and Phil for a while, but I'm not gonna let one dude ruin a fandom and things I've made for myself. Nothing I write is ever made for Wilbur, as I've seen people saying. Additionally, Wilbur was not the only writer. Technoblade, Philza, TommyInnit, and so many others made that story what it was. Not him.
However, if any CCs come forward saying they don't want their old characters interacting with his, I will respect that.
Though I do think there is a tendency to take real life events (i.e. Techno's cancer, LJ's music, Tommy's real life parents, etc.) and put them into fiction about DSMP. I, however, don't try to do that and have stated before that I don't feel comfortable doing so. The truth is that we have not gotten any genuine SBI content outside of DSMP for years. The dynamic in real life is very different from what was presented in the DSMP. Did personalities still bleed over? Yes, I'm not going to deny that, but I'm not going to act like they're exactly the same between character and person either. We've had that conversation like in 2021, it's why we have C! and CC!.
The rather sad truth is, SBI is what got me really into writing and it's a comfort for me that nothing can compare to. Obviously, I don't think it's appropriate to be writing certain types of stories right now or to be involving characters made by CCs outside of the DSMP. I think it's up to everyone else to decide on what they want to do, however, rushing it also isn't the way to go either. Give yourself time to heal and think it over first instead of throwing away something that gives you comfort and has not been associated with by the creators for over two years.
Anyways, fuck Will Gold. Fuck the fact that he hurt so many people, and fuck that he lied and manipulated his way around the damn internet. ESPECIALLY fuck the fact that he tried to diminish what he did and not take proper accountability.
Go and support Shelby so so much, she and everyone who spoke out really deserve it. I'm glad silence on these types of issues is not being normalized.
