One of my assignments this week for my business class is to spea with potential customers, but I don't actually have product to sell yet, so I'm modifying the assignment to get some general input!
For background: my business model revolves around fighting against fast fashion by teaching people to sew and giving them access to the knowledge and patterns they need to take control of their wardrobes.
I forgot to change the duration from a day to a week, so I'm reposting lol

Don't talk to me I'm engaging in activities (sewing her together and making clothes from her) with my 9 metres of bleached muslin (she is my wife).

Belated shoutout to my seat neighbour on the plane who asked me about my NASA patch, told me about his grandson who wants to be an astrophysicist, and then spent the plane ride watching ted lasso

the plushie i've been trying to make has been through hell already, and it's not even completed. to make him rounded and squishy, i've tried:
gusset (sewing an extra strip between the back and front to make more 3D??),
darts (cutting a line at certain points along the seams and then re-sewing those to, again, achieve more/better three dimensionality),
just simply sewing most of the two sides of fleece together roughly and without those^ extra features and half-stuffing him to see how that'd turn out (this is actually the first method i tried; thinking "oh fleece isn't a stiff fabric, it's stretchy, he'll become the right shape by himself :) WRONG!!)
same fabric each try. i don't quit and start over ever i just keep crying into the same pieces

did i solve my "what do i wear for Pride on Saturday" conundrum by launching on a cross-city subway trip to go get some shiny fabric because i don't own any top that feels shiny enough for pride and know i wouldn't fine what I want even if I did go to a shop? maybe
there was no one to stop me

Making your own clothes is GREAT bc like. You go to the function and someone compliments you and you get to say ‘thanks I made it myself’ and like. It’s true!! You did!!! You made it yourself!!!!

just had to stand and listen to my mother rant for half an hour about how pronoun-people are selfish and "destroying language" and what a selfish burden it is to expect everyone to have to remember all these pronouns and how they shouldn't be allowed to complain if people call them the wrong one and how "THERE'S GIRL AND BOY" and anything else is "destroying language" and selfish and "what about other people's comfort they shouldn't be forced to do something that makes them uncomfortable" and how she thinks everyone who doesn't identify with the two "linguistically correct" categories+ intersex people should all be legally forcibly assigned a single third gender category that they should all be forced to use the pronoun for for everyone else's comfort and convenience
this woman considers herself a progressive leftist, and believes she's a normal average example of one
the woman who-absolute best possible case scenario-i'm going to be stuck living with and financially dependent on(hostage to) until i'm dead, everyone.

by the way, if anybody following me is interested in cosplay, making prop replicas, sewing their own clothes etc then you should definitely check out this Humble Bundle of how-to-cosplay books
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it has basically everything a cosplayer (or somebody adjacent to costuming) might want, and then some -- i'm talking sewing, fitting, making foam armours, wig styling, smocking, tailoring, etc etc etc there's seriously loads of different books, and it's at a pay-what-you-want rate, PLUS it helps to support myself & charity (you can even choose where your money goes)
Tumblr media
the bundle is only on sale until the 18th of May 2023 so get it while you can & signal boost so other cosplayers & costumers can see!!!
