MISSING: THE OTHER SIDE SEASON 1
GENRES: Mystery, Supernatural, Drama
SUMMARY: A man trying to run away from his life’s problems finds a tucked-away village full of strange, happy people with their own very unique problems.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Well-tailored suits, mafia cons, civil servants, pawn shops, mountain hanoks, Hawaiian cafes, blonde dye jobs, weeping children, lockets full of secrets, chaebol searching, reunions, hot air balloon rides, friendship, found families, and good old corporate greed.
HOT TAKE: 'See You in my 19th Life' still holds the award for how many tears I can shed in one season of a drama, but this show comes in at a close second.
I have a few questions about how this show deals with GPS locations and inter-personal relationships, but neither caused me so so much vexation that I was about to put a damper on my late night 'I'm not stopping until I finish this show' binge-watching.

I'm definitely not adding Seo Eun Soo to my plans for Office Politics because of these pictures. I don't know what you're talking about.

Missing: The Other Side season 1-2. 8
Story: 8
Acting: 8
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: Life on Mars(kdrama) ; Hotel Del Luna (kdrama)
This kdrama has a slight mixture of everything mixed in it minus the romance. It’s a lil fantasy, thriller, action, mystery, crime drama all rolled into one. It has an excellent storyline that grasps you in I thought in both seasons. It will definitely play on all your emotions. I mean I cannot say how many times I cried on each episode then laughed back to crying again. Ugh. It’s a hidden gem and a must see.

Unlock My Boss episodes 1&2 ✔️
I just finished watching the first two episodes of “Unlock My Boss”. I really like the plot and I want to see where it goes, but it’s still all a bit alien to me. The editing stile, a 4th wall break, the Truman show reference… It was all a bit odd to me. Not things you see in kdrama often. Then again, times are changing and content is evolving. It’s interesting enough to keep me intrigued.
As for the plot, this is where you can consider the spoilers begin. ↓
So Park In Sung is a young man who has already completed his mandatory military serving and college. Due to his background however, he’s had to give up on his dream to become an actor and instead does odd jobs to make ends meet while he’s trying to get a stable job at a company. One thing leads to another and In Sung ends up finding a smartphone that belongs to the CEO and founder of Silver Lining, Kim Sun Joo. The very company he got rejected by. To his surprise, the CEO is actually trapped inside the phone after he was involved in a mysterious car accident and needs In Sung’s help to solve the mystery.
So Silver Lining is an IT company and two of the main things it develops are an AI called Baro (think of it as a fictional Siri or Alexa) and a VR that lets you experience real things. Now if we put the VR on the side, there’s a scene where In Sung finds out that the company was working on a better version of Baro, but it was still just beta. The CEO himself (Sun Joo) was a test subject for that AI. He says that it’s meant to be able to study its individual owners deeply to be able to assist them better in their daily lives. What I think might’ve happened after the accident is that now somehow the AI thinks it’s the CEO. But I’m not sure. That’s just a possible outcome I thought of, because of that conversation they had. Why else would they tell us that the CEO himself was a test subject for this AI?
There is also a clear love interest in this drama that I think will be taking some focus, because it’s going to be a big part of In Sung’s life as a CEO. He risked a second strike just to not have her fired. Again, I’m not big into the romance so I don’t think I’ll be commenting much on that. Also, I’m still not really sure how I feel about Seo Eun Soo playing the role of Jung Se Yeon. I’m not sure if she suits the role. It feels a little awkward when I watch her. I know that there was a comment that she’s “more AI-like than an AI” in the very beginning. If that’s the show’s true intent for her character than I don’t think I’m going to like that particular character much. However, she will make good ally for In Sung and Sun Joo.
Speaking of, I like the little bromance baiting they’re doing. I always fall for that though so I never take it into consideration when rating a drama (for myself). I know it’s a trap, but it’s a trap I see from miles away and still walk into. So I can’t really blame the drama for it.
Last but not least, it’s obvious the butler had a big part in whatever happened to Sun Joo, but I don’t think the nanny is all that innocent either. Considering that my theory about the Sun Joo in the phone being the beta AI that thinks it’s Sun Joo is right, then where is the real Sun Joo or his body? I don’t think the person who contacted In Sung in the preview is the actual Sun Joo, but again, considering that theory might be correct then the real Sun Joo would have to appear eventually. And that is why I think the scene with the nanny, where she asks if the butler has been able to contact Sun Joo, is actually bait. Because if she was also involved, then it makes sense why she’d ask that, because now neither knows what happened to Sun Joo (because his body is missing). Although, that could be true even if it is the actual Sun Joo in the phone, because he’d still be missing…. But what happened to his body….. I don’t know.
These are all still very early theories, we’re only two episodes in. I can see myself finishing this drama. The plot is interesting, I’m interested in In Sung’s fate and how meeting In Sung changes Soo Jun. These are my top interests.
Okay, that’s it for now!
