IN WHICH ✶ — y/n returns to korea after three years of college due to her grandmother being too sick and unable to care for herself. she transfers to hybe university for her senior year, bumping into a bunch of her old school friends. but once she bumps into her best friend of 7 years she’s unrecognizable to him due to the fact they haven’t seen nor talked to each other in 4 years. she can’t remember how to say his name to call out for him, or even remember how many moles he had on his face.
“WOOOO!” Y/n clapped and cheered as the home team scored. “Do you always go to school games?” Y/n asked Chaewon. “Not always, when Sunghoon played hockey his freshman year I went to a lot of them but when we drifted apart we stopped talking and he quit.” Chaewon said as she nodded her head.
“He played? I didn’t know he played hockey.” Y/n’s eyebrow furrowed. “He was just fooling around on the rink and the coach saw him…it was when the year just started and you had left for America. He started to skate again because he “was bored” I called bullshit.” Chaewon did finger quotations.
Sunghoon grew up figure skating. Y/n was always there to watch his routines and practices, but when Y/n started to take an interest in dance she convinced Sunghoon to try it to help with his technique. He ended up falling in love with dancing. It was a hard decision for him to make, but with Y/n there with him he enjoyed it. For college, Sunghoon would take up Dance…and Y/n would take up Music Performance…all the way across the world.
He did hockey because at least he’d still be on ice, just not doing beautiful routines. Instead fighting for a puck with a team of other guys. In a way, it was his coping mechanism, because with dance it was Y/n’s and his thing. With ice skating, it was his own thing. On the rink, all he could focus on was winning. On stage, all he could think of was dancing with her.
“Oh,” Y/n’s face faltered. “So he stopped skating completely now?” Y/n loved Sunghoon’s dancing skills, she was happy he found a new interest in dance of course, but skating was what made her like him so much…it’s where she saw the truest form of him.
“Yeah, he mainly dances now.” Chaewon put her attention back to the game before suddenly bringing her head back to Y/n. “Oh! he does the holiday festivals so you’ll definitely see him every time you guys have a performance.”
“Sometimes they even dance to a live band, maybe they’ll ask you to play the guitar for them.”
Y/n thought about how that’d be. Y/n playing the guitar on stage whilst Sunghoon dances to it, it’d be amazing.

“Do you want to go to the after party?” Chaewon asked as the two walked down the stadium stairs. “There’s an after party?” Y/n asked. “Yeah, almost every win they get there’s an after party. It’s at the team's house.”
“Do we have to be invited?” Y/n and Chaewon tried their best to stick close to each other, worried they’d get separated. “No, the guys are chill. Everyone’s welcome…” Chaewon was sticking her head out everywhere, trying to find a certain someone.
Suddenly someone bumped into the back of them. “Shit—Sorry!” The boy gasped. “Chaewon! You haven’t been to one of our games in a while, last year you only went to two.” The boy slightly pouted.
“Hi, you must be the transfer girl.” The boy stuck his hand out to Y/n. “I’m Ej,” He shook the girl's hand with excitement. “I’m Y/n.” Y/n smiled at Ej.
“Are you guys going to the after party?” Nicholas asked the two. Y/n could tell Chaewon was screaming on the inside. “Yeah, we’re going.” Chaewon said in the most cool way she could.
“Cool, I’ll see you there.” Nicholas said, looking directly at Chaewon.
Y/n shoved her phone into her back pocket, taking a few deep breaths as she walked to Sunghoon. The boy looked frantically to Heeseung, who was clearly high…and not helping the latter.
“Sunghoon, hi!” Y/n said, in a calm tone. “Hi…Y/n!” Sunghoon tried to act a little confused and dumb. “Sunghoon…do you really not know or are you just playing around?” Y/n asked.
At first she thought Sunghoon was just being kind, waving to the new girl with no idea who she was. But for the past three weeks has he still not recognized the girl he had been saying hi to?
“It’s me, Y/n. Baek Y/n.” Y/n said, a little hurt was heard in her voice. “Oh, yeah. I know!” Sunghoon said, clearly acting cool.
“Oh. Okay—uhm. I’ll see you around then…I guess.” Y/n’s voice faltered a little. She didn’t know Sunghoon would be so nonchalant about her return.
She walked through bodies trying to find where she had left Chaewon, saying “Sorry” here and there.
“Sorry.” Y/n said as she bumped into this guy's shoulder. “Y/n! Hey!” Jay grabbed her shoulder, recognizing the girl. “I heard you were back, I haven’t seen you around campus so I didn’t get the chance to welcome you back!”
“I miss you.” Jay dragged out as he hugged the girl, picking her off her feet a little.
“Jake! This is Y/n! She’s the coolest girl I knew in high school!” Jay shouted as he gently shook the girl as he had his arm around her.
“Hi, I’m Jake!” Y/n noticed his heavy accent. “Hi, I’m Y/n.” Y/n smiled at the boy.
“How are you? It's been like what—five years? I miss you man!” Jay asked. “I’m glad someone missed me.” Y/n joked.
“Oh, Sunghoon? Don’t worry about him, he’s just trying to play it cool. When he realized who you were he freaked out…don’t tell him I told you that.” He whispered the last part into her ear.
“Okay, got it.” Y/n laughed. She had missed the presence of her old friends.

Ok ok my fun facts about Jizzie for my fic: you drew hearts around my scars (please go read it)
Lizzie’s parents are split, she shares a mom with jimmy. I don’t think I’ll touch much on Joel’s backstory in this story so I’ll explain a bit more for him. His parents are very religious and expect him to be as well. He was pretty neglected as a kid, so he ended up very independent, he comes home for holidays and that’s about it. He keeps in contact because his parents pay for college.
Their whole friend group (minus scar who joined during college) has gone to the same school pretty much their whole lives. They all grew up together in close neighborhoods.
In their senior year of high school Lizzie and Joel got together with everyone’s encouragement. By the time the story starts they’ve been dating around 3 years. Joel is practically another brother to Jimmy.
WOOOO
Jimmy, fwhip, and tango + Scott and Martyn are only ones left as of now. If I get really motivated I’ll do Bigb and Ren, or Etho and Bdubs. It help if someone really wanted me to add more of them to the story, as I’m not really motivated to write them right now.

So I got the Team Lead position I interviewed for a few weeks ago (woooo!!) and it’s being formally announced tomorrow which is one of our in-office days so I’m wondering what I should wear
Like, it’s a senior position in the same office and I am certain people will be 0% shocked that I got it, since I have basically been performing in that role for a year now, but still. I feel like I need to make an effort but not too much of an effort?
Black jeans and a power blazer? Or black jeans and a button up with a cardigan?
These are the difficult life choices I’m faced with

2023 🎉🎉🎉
Ok new year and I thought since this blog is basically an archive of my fandom art, I'd also archive some "milestone" art and archive my reflection for the last year. Basically, I love art and I've always wanted to one day publish my own original comic/graphic novel and I've had this dream art school that I've always wanted to go to and then senior year rolled around and... I didnt submit my portfolio. Partially due to financial reasons, but mostly because I just hated my art (like most artist) and so I decided to take a "gap year" to take online courses and "fix" my art, but then I just didnt have enough money to even finish the courses so i just really gave up yk. I got very demoralized about school in general and thought art would just be a hobby and I should consider getting a "real job" as many of my family members would say, it didnt help that all of my friends were leaving for college and I was stuck at home. And so in my loneliness, I then created this blog because I still wanted someway to do art and be creative and share stupid ideas about my favorite characters and honestly I really really really enjoyed making fandom art. And after getting out of my slump and getting much encouragement from my friends/dad and lots of nights staying up with my anxiety as company, I decided I really should just do it and submit the portfolio and if I get in I get in and I should not be afraid to get loans and not let my financial problems get in the way of my happiness and wants. So I talked to the admission counselor and finally submitted my Illustration (Entertainment Arts Track) portfolio to ✨Art Center: College of Design✨ and a couple months later I actually got accepted woooo
So I'm sharing my accepted ACCD portfolio to by no means flex my art, I mean the anatomy and perspective still needs a lot of work and my traditional art in general isnt the cleanest, but when talking to the admission counselor, she definitely did see my faults but she also pointed out how even if my technical work isn't as polished, thats exactly what school is for: to learn and get better! And to be surrounded by likeminded people who also have a passion for art (and make those industry connections!) And something more eye opening I learned from her was that art isnt suppose to be perfect and "realistic," especially in the entertainment arts industry, what matters more is telling the story and making compelling characters. While knowing every muscle of the human anatomy is useful, as long as you get the message and purpose across, its good! (I mean look at the origins of one punch man).
Corny message aside, for as much as I was stressed during the beginning of this year, I ended up really enjoying it after all. I'm still improving my art and I still have to worry about my financial issues and college, but overall I spent these last couple days with family/friends and doing personal art projects and I'm relatively happy with my art and my OCs. My SumRec comic will probably be postponed by like a week maybe cause I've been busy with family and friends and obviously I haven't been posting a lot of my fandom art due to RL stuff, but when I actually have alone time to work on it and im satisfied, then it will be posted !! So for anyone who read through this post, I hope you maybe get some enjoyment from my art portfolio and also enjoyed last year and I hope this new year will be even better !! (And if your an artist, keep going and creating !!) 🎉
Bonus: Not part of my portfolio, but during my junior year of high school, I wanted to actually complete an animation instead of a bunch of animatics, so I did! Its incredibly rushed and my old art is cringe, but it was my first completed animation of some very old OCs and their potential intro sequence if they had a TV showヽ(✿ﾟ▽ﾟ)ノ:

track season is over, right? (ended a few weeks ago) but yeah so since distance is a great team and stuff and we do ~ team bonding ~ the seniors had a GREAT idea (note the sarcasm)
So,,, last thursday, which was the second last day of school for the seniors, we had a
CHOCOLATE MILK MILE
what is a chocolate milk mile, you ask? It’s a typical 1600 mile race. Except, with chocolate milk. you gotta chug a whole 12oz cup of choccy milk before each lap (4 laps total) and run the mile. if you throw up, you get DQed. and then you try to get as close to your PR as possible, including time spent drinking the milk.
for reference on how hard this actually is, only five out of fifteen people finished. our team’s golden boy got first place (obviously) by a whole three minutes, at 6:21. his PR is 4:21. then me (woooo) second place, at 9:22 (my PR is 6:53), and then this other guy whose time I forgot but it was around 13 minutes I think? his PR is in the low 5′s
this was really fun,, especially since all three of the seniors organizing it got DQed lmao. coach-approved activity though! uh yeah i’m mostly rambling at this point to show my excitement for it but yeah... this year’s juniors (including golden boy) are promising to continue the tradition but they are hinting at replacing the chocolate milk with perhaps water balloons that you have to dodge... or something. the Indians are already talking about a curry rice mile. this event has changed the whole team’s culture. we will forever be better than the sprinters.
oh and there’s a video on youtube titled chocolate milk mile 2022 or something but i’m not posting it here bc i don’t want to make it too easy to find since it has like. faces. and maybe names. so yeah.

Farewell 2022
Date - May 21
As our seniors were approaching their graduation after the IB finals, we as juniors knew it was mandatory to give them a memorable goodbye. IBDP year 1 and year 2 worked together to deliver an amazing farewell party for our super-seniors. The farewell was packed with games, prizes, emotional speeches and a heartfelt dance prepared by our seniors, planned and contributed a month prior by hard work. Being a part of the Punjabi Bhangra team at my school, it was truly a pleasure to perform on stage in front of my teachers, classmates, and seniors. We spent hours getting ready and doing each other's makeup, days practicing and the performance was met with many 'WOOOOS', 'YIPPESSS', and if you didn't guess already, a very lively crowd. It was such an honor to perform alongside my seniors and classmates, doing the thing I love the most; Bhangra. During our preparations, we were met with time management issues and conflicts, but we still united altogether on stage and eventually forgot about our problems. Unfortunately, I developed food poisonings the day prior to the event, but I still managed to gather strength and pull it through the performance. Until now I still remember the beautiful smiles of our seniors.

Time spent - 19 days (April 25th, 2022 onwards until May 21st, 2022)

Yoimiya:I’m relinquishing Bennett!
Chongyun:Wait! *scoots back* okay, now fight.
Yanfei:Hold on, what’s your angle?

Yoimiya:I will take Bennett out of my normal rotation to free him up for other things. However….Yun Jin takes his place.

Chongyun:Exactly, you’re so strong. Debatably one of the strongest. As for me, I’ve have no cry support for almost a year. I’m not backing down. Do melt and even if you don’t, put Bennett on the freeze team.
Yanfei:Not to be a stickler for the rules, but Chongyun does have seniority here. While technically that doesn’t give him any special benefits I think that should be acknowledged.
Keqing:He did bring you here and convinced Aether to wish. Plus I’ve seen him collect talent books frantically.

To summarise:
- Bughead are married. No, really. They are.
- Cheryl and Penelope bonded over their extended family not helping with Cheryl’s plan to get her girlfriend back, because Cheryl killed her uncle “out of spite”. Cheryl is surprised (but not actually bothered) that her poisoner mother solved this by poisoning everyone. I’m also surprised (but not actually bothered) that this was Cheryl’s reaction.
- Charles is a serial killer but -more importantly- a Proud Brother TM. He’s so chuffed his half siblings found him out, he ‘fessed everything up. He’s going to get married to Chick and live happily ever after with him in prison. #relationshipgoals
- Jellybean is a precocious Dario Argento. Jughead is worried but probably also a bit jealous. I mean it took him until the end of senior year to come up with a twisted murder story while JB is only, what? 15?
- He also got into a post-grad program (thank you @sullypants), because no one in the Riverdale writing room fact-checked this story. (Riverdale writing room. Fact-checking. Yes, you may laugh).
- Bret is dead, which is a TRAVESTY and I’m still in rage.
- The Lodge women triad did something with Hiram but I didn’t pay attention because it was about Hiram.
- Archie struggled with his consciousness and his fists. I paid even less attention.
- I thought uncle Frank had left in disgrace but I must have been mistaked because Mary called him?
After today’s treat, I’m positively burning with curiosity to see all these promised adult “real” stories that will happen after the time jump!!!
I’m kidding.
One down. Seventeen more opportunities for the writers to fuck up. Woooo!!!
