summary: being best friends and having the biggest crush on the oh so famous oh sehun, you would do anything you can to stick around with him for a long time. you just never thought you had to stir to the road where you were friends with benefits with only one having feelings for the other instead of both.

“i don’t think i want to continue on doing this anymore,” he whispered after a few minutes of silence.
you knew this day was going to come but it never actually occurred to you that it was going to happen any time soon. you realized how this friend with benefits thing was all temporary, even a dumb person would know that. maybe because you loved sehun too much for you to accept the fact that this was the only way you would be remotely close to him though with no feelings attached, just as sehun said before this whole thing even happened.
you didn’t exactly know what to say or how to reply to him but a small nod made him understand how you felt. he thought he did but oh how wrong he was.
sehun was the one who suggested this friends with benefits thing even when you two were friends for god knows how long. it all started with a drunken sophomore year after the both of you attended one of park chanyeol’s, his best friend’s, party. he was drunk, you were drunk, it was self-explanatory.
the way he practically dragged you to an empty bedroom where he kissed you as if it were your last. not to mention that was your first kiss and it was from him. you were too drunk to even process the whole kissing thing that you let him and the alcohol consume you as a whole. your bare body pressed against his bare one as he fucked you mindlessly. you could never forget the adrenaline pumping to your body as you felt the energy pulsing in you.
it was your first time having sex too, all in one night, by oh sehun.
the morning after was a whole different thing. you woke up to feeling a hand on your waist, turning to your side you saw your best friend sleeping soundly beside you and you could feel the throbbing pain between your legs and the memory from the night before finally came to you.
you were frozen on the bed, the smell of sex filled the room and you could feel a blush crept on your cheeks. it was either the fact that you just had sex for the first time with no other than oh sehun and not missing out the part where it was so fucking great, or it was because you had the biggest crush on sehun since forever. you’ve been friends since middle school and you’ve started developing a crush on him since high school. couldn’t believe you kept this from him till today, your junior year in college.
you didn’t remember what happened after but ever since that day you and sehun have been best friends AND friends with benefits. the funny thing was you’ve never and i mean ever, initiated the first move. it was all him. mainly because you were never fond of this idea in the first place but you would do anything for oh sehun.
it hurts, a lot. knowing the fact that you’re in love with your best friend but all he could think of you was his fuck buddy.
that’s what brought you here now. in his dorm room where both of you laid after a round of your many sex, where he told you he wanted to end this whole sex thing with you as he claimed.
“can i ask why?’‘ you managed to say after a few moments of silence. suddenly wondering why the sudden change of my mind when he was the one who suggested it in the first place.
you could hear sehun releasing a breath before speaking up. “it’s not you, really, i just feel like i want to be in a real relationship with someone instead of having this when we know that we don’t love each other,” he said truthfully and that’s what set you off. he didn’t love you, and he thought you didn’t do.
he was so wrong. so fucking wrong to say that.
“but, i hope we could still be best friends after this whole thing, i don’t think i could lose you like this,” he mumbled the last part and all you wanted to do was scoff but you held yourself back from doing so.
you wanted to cry, beat him up, and cry again all at the same time. you couldn’t exactly think straight and it was driving you insane. oh sehun is driving you insane.
snapping back to reality, you quickly got up from your place beside him and covered your body with the blanket, suddenly shy about exposing your naked body to him though he has seen it countless of times.
“uhm, yeah sure of course,” you said quietly, trying to not make yourself sound depressed about this. it wasn’t that you would miss the sex but you would miss just being around him, the aftercare where he would hold you until you fell asleep as if you both were actually a thing.
you quickly collected your clothes that were discarded from the floor and quickly putting them on as you gathered your stuff, ready to live the now filled with so much tension room and head back to your own just so you could break down.
“wait, how about i walk you back-,” before he could even finish you cut him off.
“don’t worry, sehun, i just want to be by myself for a while,” you said, the feeling of the lump forming behind your throat didn’t help with the way your voice cracked.
sehun didn’t know what to do but just opted on resting his back on the headboard as he watched you exit his dorm.
the second you closed the door, you felt your walls breaking instantly. the tears fell but not as much as you expected. one thing you did though was that aching feeling you felt in your heart and how your chest tightened to the point you didn’t think you could breathe.
the only person who knows about how you actually felt was baekhyun, one of your other best friends and sehun’s friends too. since you and sehun were basically attached to the hip throughout college, your group of friends seems to be the same people except for a few.
your other friends knew about this whole thing going on with you and sehun but baekhyun was the only one who knew about your true feelings for sehun.
you thank god that it was almost 12am so there was practically no one as you walked back to your dorms letting you a free pass to cry but silently. you debated with yourself whether you should call baekhyun or not since a part of you needed mental and emotional support right now but the other part of you didn’t want to burden him with your problems or include him into this mess.
yup, you opted on the second option. it was sad enough that sehun wanted to remain as ‘friends’ and the fact that he blatantly said that he didn’t love you like you did doesn’t cut it. you didn’t know if he realized what he was saying or his intentions were to just hurt your feelings.
finally, you arrived at your dorm and you felt like you needed to get your life straight. you’ve been having sex with oh sehun for a damn year now and you couldn’t figure out how you managed to even hold this in.
baekhyun did tell you to break it off with sehun but you just couldn’t do it. you never knew why but you just couldn’t. baekhyun hated seeing you hurt like this especially since you were one of his first friends when he first got into college and he cared for you as if you were a younger sibling to him.
stripping out of your clothes, you let yourself soak in the hot steaming shower. though it did hurt it felt too good at the same time. you couldn’t tell if it was the water from the shower or you were actually crying. you didn’t want to cry over this cause it sounded stupid just by thinking of it but you just felt hurt by his words.
he didn’t love you and he clearly stated he wanted to be in a relationship but not with you. it hurts. it hurts so fucking bad you wanted to rip your heart out from inside and stomp on it till it breaks completely. better than having to witness it break slowly.
after what felt like forever you finally came out of the shower and got into pajamas and at last, going to bed and try to get a good night's sleep. you stayed awake, suddenly you couldn’t bring yourself to sleep as you thought about the things sehun said. you didn’t know whether to be thankful that he was being honest about it or to beat him up about it.
you could feel your eyes getting teary and you tried to hold it back. you didn’t want to cry over him. he didn’t deserve your tears. after the intense fight, you had with yourself trying to keep it together;
you finally fell asleep.

not after a week of your and sehun’s ‘break up’ that he was now in a new relationship with some girl in your psychology class who goes by chaeyoung. she was a sweet and pretty girl and you could say that the both of you were pretty close but thank god she had no idea about the whole friends with benefits thing you had with sehun.
the second you heard about the news it felt like someone punched you in the gut. the scary part was that you could feel it. he didn’t say anything about it to you nor were you the first person to know despite the both of you being friends the longest. you didn’t feel anything since you guessed that he was still awkward with you.
the day after he ‘broke up’ with you, baekhyun has been bombarding you with messages about it but you weren’t really in the mood for it so you just sent him a ‘’i’m fine,’’ in hopes that he would drop the topic. you definitely wanted to talk about this with someone but it felt like it was too stupid to be a topic to rant about so you thought that it would be better to let yourself deal with it on your own.
you still sat with your shared group of friends during lunch and yeah he did try to talk to you, along with the rest but you would just give them a short reply, trying your best to not make it look like you were too affected with the whole thing but you were obviously failing at it. the group knew about you and sehun and they never missed to tease you about it or make fun of the topic but all you could do was fake a laugh and smile.
their words hurt too, the way chanyeol said joked about him not wanting to have sex with you anymore and said that it was because i was terrible in bed. everyone laughed, even sehun, but baekhyun didn’t. instead, he told chanyeol to shut up and gave you an apologetic look but you just shrugged and went back to playing around with your food.
you knew that chanyeol was never really fond of you and till today you never knew why.
sehun and chaeyoung were basically the hot topics around the campus seemingly they were both the most attractive people around the university grounds weren’t exactly shocking but huge news. you wanted to just bury yourself 6 feet underground so that you wouldn’t deal with the heartbreak anymore.
he did try to talk to you or invited you to hang out with him and as much as you wanted to, you couldn’t and instead rejecting him. you couldn’t go out with him and pretend like everything was okay or as if things were as to how they were before.
he tried texting to you and asked about how you were since he was too busy with chaeyoung. he even said that he missed you but you knew he didn’t mean it. instead, you replied that you were busy with your assignments and muted his number.
you love oh sehun. but it fucking sucks that he doesn’t feel the same fucking way.
on one particular day though, you were sat next to baekhyun at the cafeteria with your group including chaeyoung too. they were talking and cooing at how adorable they were and it pained you to see them all lovey-dovey with each other. the way sehun looked at her lovingly, which he never did to you or kiss you lovingly and again, he never did it to you. baekhyun just wished for them to stop doing all those things here because he couldn’t see you broken anymore.
the chatter died down till chanyeol spoke up.
“look at them y/n, such a cute couple which you probably would never even imagines yourself having a stable relationship like that,” he said as he looked at you in the eye with that stupid grin you wanted to smack from his face.
wow, you thought to yourself, am i really that unattractive?
the others laughed but sehun and baekhyun stayed silent as chaeyoung was oblivious with the whole situation. you didn’t realize sehun was looking at you because you had your head down.
“chanyeol can you not start this?” baekhyun said trying to keep his chill. not wanting to jump him in front of everyone.
chanyeol scoffed and looked back at you as he leaned back on his chair, his arms crossed.
“can you really blame me? look at her. she’s just sad that chaeyoung took her spot. we all know how whip y/n is for sehun but boo fucking hoo, you don’t always get what you want y/n, sehun doesn’t want to be with you so stop acting like a little bitch about it,” chanyeol said with venom lacing in his voice.
that was fucking it.
you stood up from the chair you were sitting on aggressively which caused the chair to scrape on the floor, creating a screeching sound. the noise made the whole cafeteria silence and all eyes were on you.
you could see baekhyun and sehun’s eyes widening as they saw your figure, you were shaking and your eyes were turning red from trying to hold in your tears.
“can you please, just fucking stop,” you said, surprised that your voice didn’t in the slightest raised at him though you were furious, but you knew that if you intended to raise your voice, you wouldn’t stop.
taking a deep breath you looked at chanyeol with rage in your eyes as you saw his widen at your burst.
“i don’t know what in the hell i’ve ever done to you for you to hate me like this ever since, what is so wrong with me liking sehun? is it too much of a fucking crime for me to feel love someone who i’ve been friends with all my damn life? please, i’m begging you to please, stop,’‘ you said, practically begging him. your voice barely coming out as you whispered the last part.
you didn’t know which was worse, the scene you're causing right now or the fact that you’ve just admitted on having a crush on sehun.
chanyeol looked at you and you could see his mouth moving to try to form words and you looked at sehun and chaeyoung staring back at you. both in disbelief of what they’ve just heard.
“y/n i-,” sehun started but you didn’t want to hear any of it. instead, you gathered your stuff and ran out of the cafeteria, embarrassed about what just had happened.
you couldn’t pull yourself together so the nearest place to have a breakdown asap was the girl’s bathroom and that’s what you opted on.
thankfully, there was no one when you came in so you went inside one of the stalls and slammed it shut, making sure to lock it. you then sat on the toilet seat, not minding that it could be dirty but you didn’t give a single fuck about that at the moment.
you didn’t know what else to do but to just cry. you never wanted sehun to know about you liking him though it would’ve been the better option. the thought of you getting rejected by him was the scariest part of it all. you didn’t want to feel the heartbreak afterward which you’ve heard were the worst, especially when it’s someone you truly love.
your mind was a complete blur right now and all you wanted to do was scream but bringing attention was the last thing you wanted right now.
sometimes you wished that chanyeol would just shut his stupid mouth up if he had nothing nice to say to you. you’ve never seen him act this mean towards anyone but to you and he was claimed to be one of the biggest sweethearts in this campus which you thought was absolute bullshit.
but that was the least of your problem at the moment and you had other things to think about like how you were going to have to explain to sehun about whatever the fuck just happened just now if he ever asked but knowing him, he definitely would.
after a few minutes, you came out of the bathroom and headed straight to your dorms, eyes fixed on the floor trying not to make eye contact with anyone. the trip to your dorm felt like forever and as soon as you got inside the said dorm, you plopped on your bed and buried your face on your pillow.
you didn’t know if you should cry or not but you just wanted to get rid of the pain in your chest. it’s hurting too much and you don’t think you’re able to stand it anymore.
maybe this was all just god’s plans, it’s either you choose to accept it or ignore it, it’s all up to you.
and you chose to accept it.

This is my absolute dream Seho scenario. This is why I like Seho as much as I do.
Junmyeon has always been the hyung and he’s taken care of and protected Sehun for over half their lives. But Junmyeon isn’t bitter about it. He takes duty very seriously and it pleases him to know he’s taking well of his juniors.
Junmyeon has never expected anything of Sehun but to just allow him to be taken care of Junmyeon, to let Junmyeon give him hugs and kisses and cuddles. Sehun is like the one guy who won’t give Junmyeon hell for babying the shit out of him, because everybody else will call Junmyeon cringe for being as affectionate as he is.
For the most part, their relationship hasn’t changed much. Even though Exo Tourgram is a few years old, we see that it’s still basically Junmyeon taking care of Sehun, almost being a parent figure to him sometimes (loved that scene where Junmyeon wouldn’t buy the sunglasses for Sehun unless he promised to wear them all day lol).
But now, Sehun is big and tall and established in his own right, and he’s capable of caring for Junmyeon in his own way. Junmyeon doesn’t necessarily need Sehun to take care of him in terms of providing food and money and shelter, though sometimes Sehun does enjoy playing sugar daddy, which he did when he sent some food trucks to Junmyeon’s drama filming. Also Sehun buying that gold chain for Minseok. What I mean to say Junmyeon doesn’t need Sehun to buy things for him and provide for him, but when he does, it’s very surprising and heartwarming, because it’s unexpected. Junmyeon would never expect his juniors to have to provide for him.
(I have read a fic where Junmyeon was Sehun’s sugar daddy but then Sehun turned out to be some rich heir to a big company and after he inherited his family’s company he decided he was going to be Junmyeon’s sugar daddy in a very “how the turn tables” way. And Junmyeon found it so difficult to accept that he was now the baby. It was fun times.)
I always say that Sehun is quiet but he’s very emotionally mature. He knows that Junmyeon takes his hyung duties very seriously, but he also sees that Junmyeon wants so much to be baby. And I love the idea of Sehun understanding that and babying Junmyeon a bit. Junmyeon tries so hard to get his dongsaengs’ attention, because he himself likes attention, and it’s so sweet when Sehun gives him his undivided attention. When Sehun gives Junmyeon hugs and cuddles, I just melt, ugh.
But yes, this one line sums up why I love Seho so much. I just want Junmyeon’s efforts at caring for others to be acknowledged and returned, and Sehun seems to be the one person who’s done that the most for Junmyeon.
This line also sort of relates to Sukai, but Jongin doesn’t really do the sugar daddy stuff as much as Sehun does. He’s more about affection, but he cannot baby Junmyeon in a way that Sehun can, because there is a determination to Sehun that can be interpreted as dom, that there isn’t to Nini.
(Also, as I was writing this, it became even more obvious to me why I relate to Junmyeon so much. At first, I thought it was because we both take responsibilities way too seriously, which is still true. But I think I relate so much to him because we are both younger siblings who take responsibilities way too seriously. People always expect younger siblings to be spoiled and lazy, and in some ways, I totally am, but in other ways, I feel like I have to be twice as responsible. Not to mention the fact that Junmyeon’s dad is a professor, which really explains so much about the kind of person he was.)
