Seamonster AU (…Luca AU…?)

- The seamonster powers are similar to the basic water=tail/land=feet except it specifically needs to be ocean water

- Kagami has grown up with a fascination to towards the ocean but she was never allowed near it which is a great way to give someone a fascination

- Felix grew up resenting humans for hunting seamonsters and for thinking they were entitled to force them out of their homes and he would regularly go onto land to cause trouble for humans

- You know them. You know their love story. The second he sees Kagami it’s over. In this specific case, she is literally a fish out of water, stolen from her home when she was a baby, and raised as a human, constantly feeling like she was out of place.

Elemental/Luca AU

Yes! I’m writing Elemental AUs now!

Note: I know that sea monsters aren't that famous in China as they are in Italy, but I'm going along with it (I head canon human!Ember as Chinese, okay?)

I got inspired by WinterArts doodle of a sea monster Wade on Twitter! You can check it out here!

Lastly, this one's for @kettterer and other people looking forward to Elemental!

Bellow the surface near China, there lived a civilization of sea monsters unbeknownst to the humans.

Wade Ripple, a 20 year old sea monster, always wondered what was up on the surface, what kind of world was out there outside of the sea.

Unfortunately, his parents were very against the surface world, saying that those "surface monsters" would eat Wade the second he stepped foot on their land. They weren't the best parents in the first place, basically treating Wade as an emotionally punching bag...

But despite that, Wade took it all, and kept a positive and optimistic attitude everywhere he swam.

But everything would change. One day, Wade decided to take another swim around the area, when he saw a human woman around his age swim underwater...

She had pale skin, red or orange hair that was in a ponytail, and light-brown eyes.

Wade wondered if all humans looked like that.

His thoughts were cut off when he saw the human woman look at him.

Their eyes locked for a moment, both barely believing what they each saw.

That moment ended when the woman swam up to the surface, having to breath. Oh right, humans couldn't breath underwater.

But Wade didn't expect her to sign him to follow her.

He did, ending up near the end of the sea, near where the humans called it a "beach".

Without even thinking, Wade went above the surface, poking his head from under the water. The first thing he saw was the woman standing on the ground, looking at him flabbergasted.

"What are you?" She asked him, still staring at him.

"Oh, I'm-" Wade was about to say, shaking water off him, but saw his blue scales disappear, changing into...dark brown human skin? The scales on his head changed too, into curly black human hair.

Wade was speechless for a moment, processing what just happened. He's a human now, at least when he wasn't in the sea.

"I'm Wade." He ended up saying.

"I'm Ember." The woman said, processing everything as well.

It was from that day that the two started to become friends. Of course, neither told their respective parents about this.

Ember got stole some clothes for Wade to wear when in human form. They'd sometimes listen to the human's English music, something her parents didn't approve of.

They'd just stay on the beach when they meet. Ember didn't mind that though, it's not like she had any other friends anyways...

As time passed by, the two slowly fell in love, and started dating in secret.

"I can't believe I fell in love with a sea monster." Ember said jokingly, yet in awe, happy to have him in her life.

While he didn't mind only hanging out with Ember on the beach, Wade wanted to see more of the human world.

He shared this with Ember, and she agreed, but warned that it was often busy and crowded where she lived.

But regardless, the couple decided to go visit the city. There barely was any water there, and Ember brought an umbrella with her for Wade n case it rained.

It was going to be a great date!

FINALLY I’ve finished up this little dude! Official RK design for A Wyrd of Wisdom!! He’s a sea monster with a funky lil hairdo <33

Lore under the cut:

RK isn’t going to show up until MUCH later in the fic, but Six and Mono discover him along a river while traveling. He’s curious about them and life on land and decides to travel with them. Six and Mono have somewhere to be relating to water, and RK just so happens to know how to get there, so he helps them!

However, sticking together is difficult when he can’t stay on land for long and has an aversion to full moons for…reasons.

Oh also this isn’t really au relevant but something I think might be cool to draw if I ever do get around to doing that with this au but, when zeus first arrives and like asks who was the one who came up with the idea of eating the cattle and is told it was Eurylochus, Eurylochus is in a like this pretty close together group of about a dozen crewman.

On that Zeus strikes with lightning. And Eurylochus is terrified, but he’s the only one not getting hit. So he’s just surrounded by lightning so bright that he can’t see anything else and screams so loud that he can’t hear anything else I think that’s cool 👍 (not for him of course but y’know)

oh my gOD YOURE RIGHT THAT WOULD BE COOL (not for him obvi XD)

…imagine. he is hit tho. He just… survives. The light is bright and the screams are loud but not as loud as his own and the light is coursing through his flesh and veins and he should be dead but then he isn’t. because Zeus is cruel and all he offered was for euryl to survive, not be exempt from the pain. Maybe he managed to convince himself that he was never hit and just imagining that he was hit too, until he looks at his reflection and sees the scars–

Because this has recently infested my mind as I tried to determine who would be who

My take on this AU:

+ Silco as an edgy tattoo artist who either works at or owns the "Eye of Zaun" Tattoo parlor, has a fondness for deep sea creature tattoos and likes to "threaten" his clients with his honest opinion on their tattoos. + On the other hand the flower shop across has a new florist named Vander, who just recently retired from his boxing career to start a more peaceful life.

➜ the young Vanco version goes on like this:

Due to a serious injury, Vander had to retire early from his boxing career and is now helping out at the flower shop of his old friend Benzo, who has an ongoing feud with Silco, the newest addition of the tattoo artist studio across the street. Unfortunately Vander finds him pretty cute - even though the dark red and black clothes and his snarky remarks aren´t really that cute - so there´s no way around it for them to not get to know each other better. Also Silco can finally get his flower references without having to argue with Benzo. Sevika is Silco´s coworker, who is not sure what to make of this new development between Vander and Silco (and also feels like she knows Vander from somewhere but can´t remember.)

Yea, Vander got a longer boxing career but finally settles down with a little flower shop, so he can get his two adopted daughters Vi & Powder a better and more peaceful environment (where no one will recognize the famous "hound of the underground"). Unfortunately it´s in direct neighbourhood to Silco´s newest establishment, the tattoo parlor "Eye of Zaun" and of f*cking course he will recognize him. This could get a bit ugly, with Silco still holding an old grudge him and Vander feeling guilty and yeeaaa, thank god the kids are in between them. Actually Powder starts lurking around the tattoo shop, because this is still more interesting than boring flowers and somehow Silco ends up teaching her how to draw better. She will definitely become a tattoo artist, she decides and of course Silco will let her practise.

Oneshot is based off an AU by the lovely @bones-of-a-rabbit, who made the below art. I’m absolutely obsessed with their AUs, check them out.

PS: The Little Mermaid gets referenced in this story, I’m referring to the original story by Hans Christian Andersen since it fits the story better and also because I didn’t know how to have them watch a Disney animated movie on a Pirate Ship because I’m a fraud.

“Clipse?”

“Yes, my little treasure?”

Eclipse puts down the dust-coated map he had been studying, carefully placing it on a wooden table decorated with various stolen goods and weapons.

“Can ask you a question?”

Eclipse walks over carefully, draping himself over the large armchair his darling was seated at.

“Anything, my sea star.”

“Would you love me more if I was still a Selkie?”

Eclipse froze slightly from the sudden question, he knew that his beloved was very conscious of their monstrous appearance but this was still quite out of the blue. He gently picked them off the armchair, sliding himself onto the chair with them on his lap.

“Now where would you get such a silly idea, treasure?”

“This.”

His love pointed towards a page on the book they had been reading, the Little Mermaid, as Eclipse had suggested to them earlier. Eclipse gently plucked the book out of their hands, examining the page. The page was torn and was a horrid shade of yellow, but the text was still legible.

“Mermaid is so beautiful, yet Prince does not marry her. If I am a monster, how do you like me?”

Eclipse's heart ached at the thought, bringing his precious closer to him. He put the book aside on a nearby table, holding them close.

“My treasure, I love you no matter what. I’m not like some snobbish prince, who just chooses the prettiest one. I love you for who you are.”

His beloved chuckled at the playful insult towards the prince, sending butterflies into Eclipse’s stomach. God, what he would do to see them happy. He caressed their cheek, bringing them in for a kiss.

“You’re beautiful, love.”

His darling smiled happily, leaning into his embrace. Eclipse chuckles, wrapping his arms around them as the room turned so silent, the only noise was the tides of the sea and squabbling crew members above on the deck.

“There’s still some time before we reach McDonough Island for our next plunder, you want to lie in bed with me? I can’t imagine this old chair being too comfortable.”

You’d like that.

You’d like that very much.
