Quick question, how does one convey to their snake - not interpretive dance, I already tried - that the refrigerator is not going to kill him?

So I'm vaguely aware that sand becomes glass under extreme heat (and pressure??)
But, like, if you chucked a bucket of sand into a furnace, or set up a huge fire on a beach, what colour would the glass be? In its rawest form, I mean? Obviously glass gets tinted and painted and altered and purified and stuff but... which colour is the closest to raw glass?
