Sorry i just had a Hob thought
So like we all know the shit this man went through, right? He lost everyone and everything he cared about, was drowned, starved for like 80 years straight, along with other stuff that wasn’t mentioned in the plot.
And he is still going strong and I’m so proud of my boy but imagine. He is a teacher, i think that much we can agree on. I believe he either works with high schoolers or university students but that part isnt that important. My point is every day he sees the modern generation simply living- and by ‘simply living’ i mean being chaotic little shits who love tiktok dances and memes and that troll the shit out of him.
Can you imagine how happy he is seeing children, not necessarily happy every day but so lively? Every time they make a joke he doesn’t understand, he can’t even be mad because, hell, we was born in a time where a child living past their preteen years was a blessing.
I think we can often forget that Hob loves people. He loves living. He is so full of wonder and joy, even when he’s having the worst years of his super long life. I know there’s been some Hob controversies recently (which i can’t really comment on because, well, i don’t know much of the context or anything, just the jist of the thing) but, we can’t forget how amazing his character is. Like i love this guy so much.
Idk if this was at all coherent but i wanted to gush him. I just love characters who represent change and, above all, just a sheer love for life. I think we all need a little bit of that in our daily lives.

So, Lyta tells Rose that it's been a few months for her, but Rose says it's only been a few hours. This tells us that, at least on occasion, there's Time Dilation between The Dreaming and the Waking World. So... my dad and I took this concept and fucking ran with it, jumping through hoops to do the stupid math.
1 Hour in the Waking World = 2.5 Months in The Dreaming
24 Hours/1 Day = 60 Months/5 Years
168 Hours/7 Days = 420 Months/35 Years
730 Hours/1 Month = 306,600 Months/25,550 Years
8670 Hours/1 Year = 2,658,222,000 Months/221,518,500 Years
106 Years = 23,480,961,000 Years
In conclusion, if the Time Dilation was consistent during his imprisonment, then while it was only a little over a century for Morpheus, it was much longer for his subjects.
Or, I'm shit at math and I royally fucked up. Either way, there is a heavily implied Time Dilation between The Waking World and The Dreaming and this means that while it was 106 years for Morpheus, for the subjects of The Dreaming, it was definitely waaaay longer and I cannot entirely blame the majority for believing he abandoned them.
That being said, all the more major props to Lucienne, Mervyn, Cain, Gregory, and Abel for sticking around as long as they did. Like, seriously. It was definitely at LEAST a couple thousand fucking years for them than it was for Morpheus but Lucienne straight out tells Morpheus that, despite that, she never felt abandoned.
Not to mention, Time Dilation is just how dreams and nightmares tend to work. You sleep for around 8 hours but you can dream what feels like days sometimes, depending on the dream.

ok, so I have finished the ep 10 of the Sandman and I am soo delighted with the change of Dream's character that we got to see.
I might do a bit more of an in-depth analysis sometime but for now, take a look at this particular scene, since it striked me quite a lot:
HERE. This was such a delightful sum-up in my opinion. Before, it was stated by multiple characters how they perceive Dream to be a self-righteous, arrogant and prideful ruler who doesn't really care about the inhabitants of his kingdom. And, well, we can also see a lot of that for ourselves (except that, I think he genuinely cared about them, he just took his duty extremely seriously and was not the kind of person to act friendly toward others)
But here? He undoes Gault's unjust punishment and asks Lucienne for help with running the Dreaming. He shows more humility than he had at any point before. AND a bit earlier he actually apologises to Lucienne (well, kinda). What the hell.
(go gault gooo!)

Hey guys, so I'm going to watch "The Diner Scene" tomorrow, how bad is it? Because that part of the comics horrified me and made me incredibly uncomfortable, like had to go for a walk to clear my mind uncomfortable, so how bad was it? Was it the whole episode, a few minutes, was it incredibly graphic? Not looking to know everything, just want to know whether it's going to be a hit fast forward situation or hide my face in my blanket situation.
