Red and White Spider Lillies
Location: Kinchakuda Manjushage Park, Saitama Prefecture, Japan Timestamp: 11:58 September 27th (Kinchakuda Manjushage Festival)
On this photo shoot, I was able to enjoy a sea of red spider lilies blanketing the park grounds beneath the tree canopy. Amidst this crimson display, a few white spider lilies gracefully emerge here and there, adding a touch of contrast.
While capturing a close-up shot, I took care not to touch the spider lilies as they are toxic and can cause skin irritation upon contact.
If you visit this park with children or pets, exercise extra caution to prevent any accidental ingestion or contact with any part of the plant.
Stay safe and enjoy the beauty of nature responsibly!

Mountains of Chichibu(verse)
Tumblr media
Mt.Buko
Focusing on my current address
Mt. Akagi to the north and Mt. Asama to the west.
The mountains of Chichibu can be seen to the southwest.
There is no such thing as a high mountain.
Once upon a time, I went cycling to Chichibu.
At that time, as a material for concrete
A mountain where the mountainside has been carved out――
I came across Mt. Buko and stopped my bicycle.
I sketched it. I thought to myself, ``This is so stupid.''
It was a pitiful mountain being scraped away and destroyed pitilessly.
However, I think that the mountains of Chichibu are not as steep, but
It is thought to have a familiar appearance.
I have lived in the harsh natural mountains of Gunma Prefecture,
I wish I could have lived in Chichibu if I had a connection.
I always thought this way.
Note: In Saitama prefecture.

Hanyu Parking Area, Saitama by soranews24
At one glance, you might think it’s the place where they film Samurai shows in Kyoto or one of the 69 stations of the Nakasendo Trail in the far countryside but in reality it’s in Hanyu City of Saitama Prefecture!
This place was created in in collaboration with Onihei Hankacho, a series of historical novels written by Shotaro Ikenami that has since been adapted into movies, plays, manga, anime and dramas.
Known as Onihei “Demon Heizo” Edodokoro, a name given to Heizo Hasegawa, who was the head of the police during the Edo period. This area was chosen for this collaboration as it’s close to the Kurihashi Checkpoint.
Authorities would check the documents of travellers at these points, enforcing travel rules imposed by the ruling Tokugawa Shogunate to protect them against any revolts from the public.
With the Kurihashi Checkpoint acting as a reminder of the area’s link to Japan’s Edo past, the Hanyu Parking Area has been set up to transport modern-day travellers back to that time period.
Onihei was also known for his love of food, and the parking area pays homage to this passion with shops modelled on ones mentioned in the novels, all serving up “meals that Onihei would’ve found delicious”.
With so many tasty meals on offer, it was hard to decide which one to settle on, but Masanuki eventually opted for the Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki Taiyaki from the Bunraku Yaki Honpo taiyaki store.

Mitsumine Jinja, one of my favourite places in Japan. This temple is so serene and absolutely gorgeous, I really would like to see it again. I painted it with water colours and gouache :)
