A new start (Ruin it pt. 5)
Pairing: Max Verstappen x reporter! Reader
Warnings: none
Summary: You and max were always teasing each other and over the years it turned into a huge sexual tension, until the fights of all the years and the accumulated lust turned into one long night of great sex.
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Tumblr media
The days in Mykonos passed in a blur of sunshine, laughter, and exploration.
Max and I continued to enjoy each other's company as friends, and we made the most of our time on the picturesque island.
This morning we decided to rent a small boat to explore the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea.
As we sailed along the coast we couldn't help but feel a sense of freedom and adventure, it was moments like these that reminded us of why we were drawn to each other in the first place.
“This is amazing, just you, me, and the open sea.”
“It really is. It's moments like this that make me forget about all the complications.”
“Sometimes, simplicity is the answer to life's complexities.”
We anchored the boat in a secluded cove where the water was a brilliant shade of turquoise.
We spent hours swimming, snorkeling
and exploring the underwater world. It was a chance to escape from the world's pressures and simply be in the moment.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, we reluctantly returned to the shore.
We knew that our time in Mykonos was coming to an end and the real world awaited us with all the challenges.
That evening, we shared a quiet dinner at a charming seaside restaurant.
The atmosphere was serene, with soft candlelight casting a warm glow on our faces.
“Max.” I called him as we were looking at the stars in silence. “I've had an incredible time here with you. It's been like a dream so thank you.
“It has been for me too. Mykonos brought us closer and I'm grateful for that.
“I know can't deny the connection we have, Max, It's special and I know I said we should just be friends for now but I don’t want to just be your friend.” He got closer to me. “I want to be the one cheering for you when you win a race and to be the one who comforts you when you have a bad one. I want to kiss you in front of everyone and to be your partner in life.”
“I want you to be all of this too.” He says and comes closer to me. “No matter what happens, I want you to know that I'll always be here for you.“
“And I'll be here for you too, Max.”
In that moment, we didn't need to say anything more. He kissed me and then turn me around so he could hug me from behind and then we spent a few hour there just enjoying each other’s company.
The next morning we packed our bags and prepared to leave Mykonos. Our time on the island had been a beautiful escape but reality awaited us. We knew that the challenges ahead of us wouldn't be easy but we were both willing to face them, whatever the future held.
As we boarded the plane back home we looked out of the window one last time at the sun-kissed beaches and azure waters of Mykonos. As we landed in Monaco, Max invited me to sleep at his house as we arrived late and I was too tired to drive home so here we are at his apartment.
When we entered, we were greeted by his cats who came excitedly to welcome their owner.
"You can take a shower in the bathroom of my room if you want, I'll bring you a towel in a bit."
"All right, thanks." I went towards the room he had pointed out and got into the shower.
I took off my clothes, tied up my hair and stepped into the shower. When I felt the hot water on me, my body relaxed.
Then I heard the door open and Max came in holding a towel.
"I'll leave the towel here." He says and just as he's about to leave the bathroom I call out to him. "Yes?"
"Wanna join?" He smiled and started to take off his clothes.
We were too tired for sex so we just had a relaxing shower before going to bed.

⏤ sail away with me, series masterlist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing. tourguide!joel miller x fem!reader
series synopsis. on the brink of undergoing a life-altering change, you runaway from your problems in the only way any sane person can: embarking on a mediterranean cruise. there you meet joel miller, a grumpy, private tour-guide, who just so happens to be tasked with touring you through each stop on your cruise. from greek goddesses to roman ruins, you have ten days to avoid your fate. maybe a frowning, southern, sex-on-legs of a man is just what the doctor ordered.
series warnings. no use of y/n, takes place in 2015, cruise!au, rom-com, enemies-ish to lovers, sunshine!reader, tour-guide!joel, unspecified age gap, depictions/discussions of grief, angst, fluff, a whole load of smut, a lot of cheesy stereotypical romance tropes bc i just wanna see joel not suffer ( too much ) <3
disclaimers. this series will have no official update schedule because i suck at sticking to them, but my aim is to write a majority of the fic before beginning to post it.
★ the cruise stops ! aka the chapters. ⇢ prologue. rome. ⇢ i. sea-day 1. ⇢ ii. santorini. ⇢ iii. mykonos. ⇢ iv. athens. ⇢ v. corfu. ⇢ vi. sea-day 2. ⇢ vii. sicily. ⇢ viii. florence. ⇢ ix. napoles. ⇢ x. barcelona.

Με τον τρόπο του Γ.Σ. (english below)
Very famous poem by Greek nobelist George Seferis. Clumsy English translation by me under the cut.
In the way of G. S.
Wherever I travel to, Greece wounds me. Amid the chestnut trees in Pelion, the centaur's shirt slipped through the leaves to wrap around my body, as I was ascending the slope and the sea followed me, ascending too like mercury in the thermometer, till we found the waters of the mountain.
In Santorini, while touching sinking islands, listening to a fipple flute playing from somewhere in the pumice rocks, my hand was nailed on the wale by a paper plane darted suddenly from the farthest reaches of a withering youth.
I lifted the great stones and the treasures of the Atreides at Mycenae and I slept with them in the hotel "Helen of Menelaus" - they disappeared at dawn only when Cassandra crowed with a rooster dangling from her black throat.
In Spetses, in Poros and Mykonos I was tormented by the barcarolles. Why do all these people say they are coming from Athens or Piraeus? One comes from Salamina and asks the other whether he comes from Amity square, "No I come from the Consitution square", the other replies contently. "I met John and he treated me with an ice cream"
Meanwhile, Greece is travelling. We know nothing, we do not know we are all deserted, we do not know the bitterness of the port when all the ships have sailed, we mock those who can feel it.
Strange people who claim to be in Attica, though they are nowhere - they buy sugared almonds for their weddings, they hold drugs for hairloss, they take pictures of themselves - the man I saw today sitting in a background of doves and flowers was tolerating the hand of the old photographer pressing on his wrinkles, caused by all the birds in these skies. Meanwhile Greece is travelling more and more, and we see dead bodies flowering in the Aegean, it's those who wished to catch the great ship by swimming, those who grew weary of waiting for ships they can not move; ELSA, SAMOTHRACE, the AMBRACIAN.
The ships are whistling now that the sun falls in Piraeus, still whistling some more but no winch is moving, no anchor rode shone washed in the last evening light, the captain stands like stone in his white and gold.
Wherever I travel to, Greece wounds me. Curtains made of mountains, archipelagos, bare granite. The ship sailing is called AG ONY 937.
S/S Aulis, waiting for it to start Summer 1936

Alright, get comfy my friend, because it's story time. This one's a tale about a thrilling sailing adventure that started on SailingClick.
You see, once upon a summer, our hero – yeah, that's you – got this insatiable itch to set sail and become the undisputed master of the waves. You've got no boat, no crew, and your experience is limited to a bathtub and a rubber ducky, but that's not stopping you.
So, you jump on your computer and, with the heart of a lion, type into the search bar, "SailingClick.com". The homepage opens up, full of promises of open seas and exotic marinas, and your eyes twinkle with anticipation.
First things first: you need a boat. Not just any boat, you need the best deal. You browse the 'Last-Minute Deals' section, and boom! There it is, a svelte sailboat, a real beauty, 'The Azure Wave', based in Greece, with an irresistible discount. It's like she's calling your name, waiting for you to guide her through the Aegean Sea.
Booking it is a breeze, just a few clicks, and bam! You're a temporary boat owner. SailingClick.com even lets you take a virtual tour of the boat before you book it, so you know exactly what you're getting into. The captain's hat is virtually on your head already.
Next, you need a route. You've always dreamt of visiting the Greek islands - Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes - you want them all. So, you head over to the 'Find Marinas' tab and start plotting. You find marinas with top-notch ratings, free Wi-Fi, and the best views of the Greek sunset. SailingClick.com makes it so easy, it's like a Google Maps for sailors. You plot your trip, make your marina bookings and even find out which ones have the best beachside tavernas. And just like that, your journey is mapped out.
Alright, now you've got your boat, and you've got your route, but you're still sitting in your living room. You need a flight to Greece, and it needs to be cheap. You think it's time for another website, but SailingClick.com has got you covered.
On the top-right corner, you spot the 'Book a Flight' option. You enter your details, and in a jiffy, a list of budget-friendly flights sprawls out in front of you. With a few more clicks, you score a one-way ticket to Athens. There's no looking back now.
Before you know it, you're on a plane, leaving your homeland behind. As you look out the window, the twinkling city lights are replaced by the vast, dark ocean, just waiting for you to conquer it.
From a dream in your living room to sipping ouzo by the docks in Greece, waiting for the dawn when you set sail, it all starts to feel very real. You've got SailingClick.com to thank for turning your bathtub fantasy into a full-blown sailing adventure. Now all you need to do is kick back, let the Greek sun kiss your skin, and embrace the salt in the air. Your adventure awaits, Captain!

Experience the Magic of Greece: Rent a Boat and Set Sail!
Greece, with its stunning coastline and myriad of islands, offers a captivating experience for adventurers seeking to explore the wonders of the Aegean and Ionian Seas. While mainland Greece boats ancient ruins and bustling cities, it’s the allure of the Greek islands that truly captures the imagination. And what better way to discover these gems than by renting a boat and setting sail into the azure waters?
Tumblr media
The Greek islands are synonymous with paradise, each offering its own unique charm and beauty. From the iconic whitewashed buildings of Santorini to the lush landscapes of Corfu, there’s something enchanting about these sun-drenched destinations. By renting a boat, you may set your own itinerary and explore remote beaches, undiscovered coves, and charming towns along the way.
Choosing the Right Boat
Before embarking on your Greek adventure, it’s essential to select the right boat for your needs. Consider factors such as size, amenities, and budget. Whether you prefer the luxury of a motor yacht or the simplicity of a sailboat, there are options to suit every preference and pocket.
Planning Your Route
With thousands of islands to explore, planning your route is key to making the most of your sailing experience. While popular destinations like Mykonos and Rhodes are must-sees, don’t overlook the charm of lesser-known islands like Milos and Symi. Researching the best anchorages and attractions ensures a seamless and enjoyable journey.
Preparing for Your Trip
Packing the right essentials is crucial for a successful sailing trip. Sunscreen, hats, and lightweight clothing are a must, along with seasickness remedies and first aid supplies. Safety should always be a priority, so familiarize yourself with emergency procedures and ensure your boat is equipped with necessary safety equipment.
Navigating Greek Waters
Navigating the waters around the Greek islands requires a basic understanding of maritime rules and regulations. Keep an eye on weather forecasts and be prepared to adapt your plans accordingly. While the summer months offer calm seas and clear skies, unexpected changes in weather can occur, so vigilance is key.
Tumblr media
Exploring Greek Islands
Each Greek island has its own distinct character and charm, from the cosmopolitan vibe of Mykonos to the rugged beauty of Crete. Take the time to explore both well-known hotspots and off-the-beaten-path destinations, immersing yourself in local culture and cuisine along the way.
Immersing in Greek Culture
Greek culture is rich in history, tradition, and hospitality. Take the opportunity to learn about local customs and traditions, whether it’s joining in a traditional Greek dance or sampling regional delicacies at a waterfront taverna. Engaging with the local community adds depth and authenticity to your sailing experience.
Activities Beyond Sailing
While sailing is undoubtedly the main attraction, there’s no shortage of activities to enjoy during your time ashore. Snorkel in crystal-clear waters, hike scenic trails, or simply relax on sun-drenched beaches. The Greek islands offer something for everyone, whether you’re a thrill-seeker or a laid-back traveler.
Budgeting Tips
Sailing in Greece can be surprisingly affordable, especially if you’re willing to forgo luxury amenities in favor of a more authentic experience. Budget-conscious travelers can save money by cooking onboard, anchoring in free or low-cost harbors, and taking advantage of local markets for provisions.
Sustainable Sailing Practices
As stewards of the sea, it’s important to minimize our impact on the marine environment. Practice eco-friendly habits such as reducing waste, conserving water, and avoiding single-use plastics. Respect marine life by observing from a distance and refraining from feeding or disturbing wildlife.
Safety Measures
Safety should always be a top priority when sailing in unfamiliar waters. Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols and ensure all passengers are aware of safety procedures. Carry a well-stocked first aid kit and know how to use it in case of injury or illness.
Choosing the Right Time to Sail
The best time to sail in Greece depends on your preferences and priorities. Summer months offer warm temperatures and calm seas, but also attract larger crowds of tourists. Spring and autumn offer milder weather and fewer visitors, making it an ideal time for those seeking a quieter sailing experience.
Benefits of Sailing with a Crew
While solo sailing can be a rewarding experience, sailing with a crew offers numerous benefits. Shared responsibilities make tasks easier and more enjoyable, while the camaraderie of a close-knit crew adds to the overall sense of adventure.
Capturing Memorable Moments
Don’t forget to capture the magic of your Greek sailing adventure through photos and journaling. Documenting your experiences allows you to relive your journey long after you’ve returned home. From stunning sunsets to chance encounters with local wildlife, every moment is worth preserving.
Conclusion: Embrace the Adventure
Sailing in Greece offers a unique opportunity to explore some of the world’s most beautiful islands at your own pace. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a novice adventurer, the magic of Greece awaits. So hoist the sails, feel the wind in your hair, and embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
Is sailing experience necessary to rent a boat in Greece?
While sailing experience is beneficial, many boat rental companies offer skippered or crewed charters for those without sailing skills.
What are the visa requirements for sailing in Greece?
Citizens of many countries, including the EU, the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, do not require a visa for short visits to Greece.
Are there age restrictions for renting a boat in Greece?
Age restrictions vary depending on the type of boat and rental company. Most landlords demand that tenants be at least eighteen years old.
Can I bring pets on a sailing trip in Greece?
Some boat rental companies allow pets onboard, but it’s essential to check their pet policy and any additional fees before booking.
What happens in case of medical emergencies at sea?
In case of medical emergencies, contact the nearest port authority or coastguard for assistance. It’s essential to have travel insurance that covers medical evacuation and treatment.
