wrote a lil Zukki week ficlet for either day 1 (domesticity) or a silly take on day 6 (political complications).
475 words, comedy + fluff, Zukki, pregnancy
“How would you raise a child, if you had one?” Suki says. She’s laying in between Zuko and Sokka, and as she says it, she turns her head lazily to look at Sokka.
“Dunno,” he says, shifting so his arm can continue to be her pillow even as he idly strokes Zuko’s hair. They're wearing two pairs of pants and two tops between them, and it's a lazy afternoon indeed. “I'd raise them Water Tribe, I guess. Teach them to fish. Take them ice dodging. But I'd make sure we traveled, too. Gotta see the world.”
“What about you, Zuko?” Suki turns to her other side.
“Uh, they'd be a palace kid, I guess,” Zuko says. “I don't want to raise them like I was raised, but they'd have to learn politics and all that. I'd meditate with them. Teach them to control their flame.”
“Great,” Suki says. “I'm pregnant.”
“WHAT?!”
The men sit up comically quickly on either side of her, staring at her stomach as if they'll see the shape formed by a handful of cells. They're both speaking, voices overlapping, asking if it's real, when she found out, if she's ok.
“I went to the healers earlier today,” she says. “They say I'm about a month along.”
“That's incredible,” Sokka says, grabbing her hand, but Suki turns to see Zuko looking stressed enough to start sparking.
“Zu?”
“Whose is it?”
“What?” Suki says.
“I mean, what'll we tell the Fire Sages? If the kid’s a firebender, of course, they'll need to be my heir— but if they're not mine biologically. Agni, if they're Water and Earth— what if they're a water bender! They can't be the heir to the throne, but there's no way to know— Suki, I'll have to tell the Sages right away—”
Suki grabs him by the shoulder. “Calm down, love, please. What are you saying? If the child is whose?”
“Mine or Sokka's,” Zuko says.
“Zuko. My darling. My fire-lily. My spark.” Sokka takes Zuko’s hands in his, and looks deep into his eyes. “Baby, the kid’s yours.”
“How would we know?”
“I'm trans.”
Zuko turns red so fast he starts steaming. “Oh. Yeah. I knew that.”
“I should hope so,” Sokka says with a snort.
“I'm so stupid,” Zuko mumbles, but Suki just gathers him in a hug as her quiet chuckles fade.
“You've been stressed recently, and this is a big surprise. It's ok.”
“Are you okay with having my heir?” Zuko says tentatively. “I know it's a big thing...”
“Well, are you okay with having a child?”
“Yes. Of course.”
“Then we'll do it. Together.”
“I still want to take them ice dodging,” Sokka cuts in. “And teach them to fish. But I think it's time we moved to the palace. Don't you think, Sukes?”
She nods. “Here's to a new adventure, huh?”
The end.

[sabriel ficlet]
Sam takes a few more steps until he realizes that Gabriel is not by his side. He turns around and there he is, squatting on a reasonable distance from a stray cat.
Sam rolls his eyes a bit and just waits. There's no point in trying to hurry Gabriel, they've been through this and a short man will move only when he wants to.
"Pspsps," Gabriel says and grins wide when a cat lazily turns it's head towards him.
Gabriel makes sure cat looks at him and blinks slowly. Ever since he learned that this presumably is the equivalent of a kiss, he's bugging literally every stray cat he meets.
Sam can't help a warm smile that spreads across his face. Gabriel makes a few more attempts and when the cat blinks slowly in return he basically bounces on his feet, turns to Sam with shining eyes, looking like a kid on a Christmas morning. Sam's heart flutters.

New Member Spotlight - March 2024
The Pond is always growing and we want to make our new members feel welcome! Here’s a list of recent additions to our fishy family, along with a little info about them!
Tumblr media
Guppies, Jellies, and Mutuals, oh, my!
@samanddean76 -
Other SM names? - Same name on AO3 and Discord
OTP? - Wincest and/or J2.
Looking for in the Pond? - To be around other open-minded and creative people so that I can see how far I can be inspired to go with this writing thing.
Pairings you read? - All of it. I love Wincest, Wincestiel, Sabriel, Destiel, Jammy, and J2.
Genres you read? - Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Fluff, Smut, True Mates, Soul Mates, Unrequited Love, and A/B/O is my favorite way to combine all of the above.
Favorite writer(s)? - nyxocity. She started on LiveJournal with the first episodes to air and transfered a lot to Ao3. Her work in both SPN and SPN RPF is some of the best I've ever read.
What do you like to write? - A/B/O, AU's, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, True Mates, Soul Mates, Revenge, and All The Feels
Masterlist!
Most underappreciated fic? - Joyous Memories Amongst The Sorrow
Something you haven't written but would like to try? Why not? How can we help? - A full on, hard-core revenge story where nothing is softened, the focus doesn't shift away, and there is no doubt as to what was done. Haven't tried it yet as I'm not sure I'm ready to embrace the darkness required to write it. Also, I don't want to scare off my readers. How you can help? Encourage me to finally tackle that next seemingly impossible challenge.
@kayleighwinchester -
Other SM names? - KayleighWinchester (AO3)
OTP? - Awful as it sounds, Dean and my OC! Beyond that, absolutely Destiel.
Other fandoms? - I'm pretty active in the band Ghost's TikTok fandom! I used to be *huge* into Harry Potter, but that's definitely faded in the last few years. As it stands, Supernatural has definitely become the main obsession.
Looking for in the Pond? - I'm mostly here for the community! My fanfic writing has mostly been just for me and shared with a few close friends in the last few years - publishing it anywhere, especially in the really rough state it's in at present, is super daunting! I'm always looking for more people to bounce ideas off of, chat with, and generally obsess over the show with, as well as finding new stuff to read!
Pairings you read? - I'm especially fond of reader inserts, and they were my first big step into fanfic! When it comes to ships, I tend to stick specifically to Destiel, since it's my OTP, but I'm always willing to branch out!
Genres you read? - I love angst! Writing was, for a long time, my free version of therapy, so reading and writing angst was always a huge thing for me. I also love smut and fluff. ...Essentially, everything. Depends on the mood!
Favorite writer(s)? - I always have to boost TinkerbellBleu on Ao3, even though she isn't active anymore. She wrote an amazing DeanxOC fic, essentially turning episodes 1, 2, and part of 3 into full-length novels. I adore her writing and hope she comes back soon!
What do you like to write? - Most are CharacterxOC, and I have absolutely no self-control, so they are almost always ridiculously long. As it stands, I've been incapable of not just writing a fic that is supposed to span the entire show, because there's just *so many* good moments, good scenes, good storylines, etc. There's never one specific 'theme'; I write everything! I do enjoy writing angst, though.
Something you haven't written but would like to try? Why not? How can we help? - Smut! I've made an *attempt*, but never one that I actually kept. Generally, it comes down to a lack of confidence; I'd love some critiques if I ever get around to it!
@whiskeyjuniper -
Other SM names? - Whiskeyjuniper (AO3)
OTP? - DeanCas, Midam, crackship DeanChuck
Looking for in the Pond? - Sprint buddies!
Pairings you read? - DeanCas, Midam, crackship DeanChuck
Genres you read? - Horror
What do you like to write? - Horror, Weird
Masterlist!
Most underappreciated fic? - a happy place to dream about
@bloodydeanwinchester -
Other SM names? - Same name on Discord, alovelyhorror (AO3)
OTP? - Destiel
Looking for in the Pond? - Looking for a place to talk to other writers and participate in sprints.
Pairings you read? - Almost exclusively Destiel
Genres you read? - Angst with a happy ending is my favorite but I also love some good horror. my favorite trope is probably time travel.
Favorite writer(s)? - sobsicles and komodobits on ao3
What do you like to write? - mostly into writing longer destiel canon/canon divergent fics (although i do have an idea or two for aus)
Masterlist!
Most underappreciated fic? - When the Night Is Over
Something you haven't written but would like to try? Why not? How can we help? - The thing I'm most focused on wanting to do now is to finish the longer fic that I’m currently working on. I'm struggling with keeping up motivation now that I'm right in the middle of the fic!
@notanotherthembo -
Other SM names? - Same name on Discord
OTP? - Dean/Cassie
Other fandoms? - TWD, TOWL
Looking for in the Pond? - Beta readers, homies, amazing writers to talk shop with
Pairings you read? - Sam/Femme!Reader, DeanCassie, Sam/Dean/Femme!Reader, Wincest
Genres you read? - Smut, Rivals or Enemies to Lovers,
Favorite writer(s)? - @uncouth-the-fifth is the GOAT
What do you like to write? - Crossovers, specifically ones that feature Black femme characters as the romantic lead
Masterlist!
Most underappreciated fic? - Clap Your Hands If You Believe
Something you haven't written but would like to try? Why not? How can we help? - Reader inserts! I'm working on one right now that I need a beta reader for. I'm also considering finishing up/rewriting an old Spn/True Blood crossover series that I haven't touched in years.
@bigmouthlass -
Other SM names? - darali_starscream (AO3) & Darali (Discord)
OTP? - I write Dean/You, and Dean/Donna should've lived happily ever after.
Looking for in the Pond? - Get a better handle on fandom stuff, meet some other like-minded obsessives.
Pairings you read? - Dean/anyone. He fascinates me.
Genres you read? - Smut to start, anything interesting and well-written.
Favorite writer(s)? - @thoughtslikeaminefield, @sam-is-my-safe-word , @talltalesandbedtimestories, Edge_of_Clairvoyance (AO3), and @rizlowwritessortof
What do you like to write? - They start as smut, and insist on growing plots.
Masterlist!
Most underappreciated fic? - Stairwell Drums
Something you haven't written but would like to try? Why not? How can we help? - I'm trying to get comfortable writing Sam; he's harder for me to feel at ease with. Also slash generally, it doesn't come naturally to me.
Tumblr media
That's all for this month, folks! (If we're missing anyone, let us know and we'll add them to next month's list!) Make sure to say hi to the newbies and make them feel welcome! Thanks to all from @manawhaat, @mrswhozeewhatsis, @mariekoukie6661, @thoughtslikeaminefield, @spencereliotwinchester and @heavenssexiestangel!

Ten Books to Know Me:
@chubsthehamster put out a "participate if you want to" call, and I fucking love books, so why not! 1. Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, by Susanna Clarke - Read this first in high school and it rewired my brain. Dense, intricate, a November day of a book, it is about the inequities of class, race, gender, and also about the dry stone wall down the lane and its intimacy with the ivy that's grown over it for the last century. There are magicians and academic confrontations.
2. Food in England, by Dorothy Hartley - Read this a year out of undergrad. This is the book that convinced me that I could actually do something worthwhile with my interest in history. It was also fundamental in kicking a few chunks out of my ivory tower, but that's probably a personal take-away rather than anything essential to the book. Learn a few hundred small practicalities that may or may not be applicable to modern life; you decide.
3. Sabriel, by Garth Nix - The first book that spoke to baby's latent goth tendencies. The worldbuilding still lives in the back of my head. Made me interested in WWI history. Read it in middle school, I think? It was such a breath of fresh air, and I admired the protagonist and her self-discipline and self-reliance so much. Probably the first book that made me really worry whether the characters would survive until the end, and boy howdy was that formative. Zombies, quests to save fathers, learning that the legacy you thought was a burden is actually your calling.
4. Ombria in Shadow, by Patricia A. McKillip - Read in undergrad, I think? I reread it a couple times a year. It's a go-to story for when I need something comforting and decadent. I love the gauzy quality of the worldbuilding, the understated approach to very real-world dangers. A royal bastard, a former royal mistress, and a sorceress' apprentice race to protect a child king and save the and the living soul of a city.
5. The Sandman, by Neil Gaiman, et al. - This story got me through my late teens and early twenties. Exactly the right flavor of tragedy to grab my brain and shake it like a maraca; fundamentally changed how I look at stories and narratives. Person-shaped cosmic mechanism denies personhood, falls face first into the hole he's been digging for himself for a billion years, hitting every consequence on the way down, and finds a morsel of peace at the end.
6. Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio (聊齋誌異), by Pu Songling (蒲松齡) - I read this first while doing research for a fanfic and came away hungry for every bit of "classic" Chinese literature in English translation I could find. I've always had a fondness for supernatural anecdotes (The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries, by WB Yeats, etc), but this is on the list because it was the initial experience in an ongoing foray into classic and modern East and Southeast Asian literature.
7. Underland, by Robert Macfarlane - Read this a couple years ago. Everything you ever and never wanted to know about caves and being under the earth. The texture of Macfarlane's prose is unlike anything else, and he spends 500 pages leading you in and out of the dark.
8. Night Watch, by Terry Pratchett - This is my compromise instead of just listing every Terry Pratchett book. I read this when I was 12, and I mean it in earnest when I say it shaped how I think to this day. Pratchett's work is a load-bearing beam in my brain. Another grey book, but also lilac.
9. A People's History of the United States, by Howard Zinn - Okay look, LOOK, I know what you're thinking, but I read this when I was a teenager living in an extremely conservative pocket of a very liberal state. It made me think, which I was good at avoiding because school came easy to me and I usually didn't have to engage my brain at all to have the right answers. I wish with all my heart that I could write to the teacher who assigned it, because it was the very first time anyone had ever made me read history outside a history textbook. I resented that man so much at the time, but I owe him my current career.
10. Stiff, by Mary Roach - Read this as a teen and finally got answers about death I hadn't gotten in a lifetime of religious education. I think I actually snuck it into Mass, because I have a distinct memory of cramming it between the cushion and arm of a pew. Sparked an interest in death and human remains that lead me closer to where I am today.
Please consider yourself tagged if you'd like to participate! And tag me back so I can add more books to my tbr list, please! <3

Quick ask: Do you have any Sabriel AU's for jon/sansa? If you don't would you be interested in writing one? Especially one that had a lot of great Sansa and Arya moments. I love that your Sansa and Arya moments in your fic. I feel like people who think that Sansa and Arya hate each other have never had a sister.
I don't! It's actually been a long time since I've read them, I was just shelving something today and saw them and remembered how much I loved them. I always mean to reread them, but I'm so terrible about sitting down to read anymore that I never get around to it. Sigh. But as usual, I never say never!
As for the Sansa & Arya stuff - it genuinely boggles my mind that people are soooo convinced Sansa is some evil bully who lived to torment her sister, and that she & Arya will hate each other when reunited. It really does reek of only child syndrome (obviously not all), or like, they had a genuinely horrible older sibling (which obviously does happen). Or they're a misogynist/deep in their NLOG phase and are using her "bullying" Arya to justify how much they hate her lol
But I think most people with siblings should be able to look at their relationship and go - oh, yeah. Valid.
Like, my older sister and I committed war crimes against each other. And while I can remember every single one in vivid detail that she committed against me, mine against her are suspiciously blurry and hard to remember. I can even look back on some things she did and point to it as the source of a trauma, and I know I said horrible things to her that I will not list here because they're genuinely awful and I feel so bad about them now and I guarantee I gave her some sort of complex.
But the thing is, we were kids. Neither of us were bullies. Neither of us are sociopaths or psychopaths or anything else. We were kids with too many emotions, shoved into the same house and forced to be around each other all the time. Now we're adults and she is the person I trust most in the entire world. I love her, even if she still, to this day, can drive me insane like no one else can.
I think GRRM did a good job writing them as actual siblings, and if it was a fluke, then it was a fluke that worked. If it wasn't a fluke, then I guarantee when Sansa & Arya meet up again, they'll have each other's backs, even if they drive each other insane. Even if they don't agree on almost anything.
This went long and ranty, anon! so much for a quick ask lol

8 and 16 for the choose violence ask
8. Common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about.
That Dean would return Cas’s love confession
Okay no actually you know what. I’m gonna talk about that. Maybe it’s just me being deep in Aro!Dean land, but I’m not seeing it. I’m not seeing at any point in the show where Dean loved Castiel. And I’ve been looking, I swear, but I’m. There’s no destiel on my screen. There is a lot more sastiel than I remember but there’s no destiel happening on my screen! There IS a lot of Castiel clearly having Problems and Issues and Angst about dean, and. Zero doubt here there that that angel wants to fuck him. But I honestly can’t imagine any happy ending for dean that revolves solely or even mostly around a romantic attachment. That man is hardwired for family being the most important thing to him, and I love that. Aro!Dean wins again.
Other notable things include: headcanoning Sam as not queer/trans because he’s too boring. Talked about that. Weird fucking opinion to have. That Gabriel is not exactly as fucked up as the other archangels, especially when presenting sabriel as the Good Sam Ship as opposed to samifer. My dudes, did we not watch mystery spot, do the reading. Also. Also. Not acknowledging the really clear character degradation of Lucifer in the later seasons/attributing later seasons stuff to how he acts in s5, just a personal gripe because whatever, people can read him however they want, but I really feel like on a meta level you gotta talk about how these are Two Different Characters who just happen to have been jammed into the same character. Okay. I think that’s it.
16. You can’t understand why people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc.)
I do not like coffee shops AUs. Actually, it’s more that im Extremely picky about AUs that aren’t canon divergence, and will drop them immediately the minute I feel like I’m no longer reading about the characters I like and am instead reading about Generic Guys who say funny quips and then kiss. Which is not a coffee shop au specific problem but the frequency with which that kind of au attracts that writing means I have kind of been turned off from ever reading them again.
if you are writing Sam into your coffee shop au and at some point he does not drop some insane backstory about the time he was kidnapped and forced to fight to the death with a bunch of other college kids, you have failed at writing this au and I am banishing you to the shadow realm /j
The other thing that I do not understand at all, and this extends into a problem with canon, I’m well aware, is how happily people will accept the idea that Castiel is rebellious/different from other angels because he was just Made Wrong. he’s too Broken to be like a real angel. that all the other angels are mindless drones and Castiel is the one good one who could learn about free will, usually justified with it being that “his love for dean is what makes him special”, but even outside of destiel circles, this kind of thing gets very annoying lmao.
And it’s just. That’s wrong. The show might have decided post-s8 that it believed this about Castiel but it’s False and Bad. I’m gesturing wildly at Uriel and Anna and Gabriel and Lucifer and Balthazar and Michael and shit what’s that one angel doing pinball I love them, them too, and Castiel is not special!!! He should not be special!!! All angels have the capacity for free will, they are living under a terrifying system of suppression that has stripped them of their ability to use it and has taught them that when an angel does something they disagree with, killing them is a mercy! (See: the implications of that one angel healer in s9 + Uriel and Cas being sent to kill Anna for falling in s4)
CASTIEL IS NOT SPECIAL. STOP SAYING HE IS SPECIAL. THE CRACK IN THE CHASSIS LINE IS BAD TO HOLD UP AS EVIDENCE OF HIM BEING UNIQUELY FLAWED.
ahem. sorry. i like the supernatural angels. i think making castiel into some separate special being who is the only one capable of rebelling and feeling love and etc does a massive disservice to the heaven storylines and angels as a whole. i think the show’s choice to never have another major angel character who wasn’t killed off quickly/made “too evil” to redeem was a bad decision and contributes to this view of cas as Different and The Good One.

So an hour ago I found this old SPN fanfic, my main ship used to be Sabriel (Sam x Gabriel) and this particular fic is a teacher!AU - which I seemingly abandoned unfinished and without further notes.
The two of them meeting at an open-air disco/ town festival and flirting hard for the night only to ditch one another. They then meet when Sam has his first day at the school he started his student teacher position. Principal Mills promptly assigning the student teacher to the pupils’ favourite religion teacher, Mr. Novak.
These days I wouldn’t write a daughter into such an AU and probably go differently about some things but I’d be open to pick the idea back up.
I would probably keep the backstory that both Gabriel and Sam suffered domestic violence/ abuse (Sam obviously at the hands of Ruby; I don’t know who I intended as Gabriel’s abuser for that AU).
And I like the detail that Gabriel wears colored contact lenses when out partying and while working at the school, so Sam only later learns he actually doesn’t have blue eyes.
Should I go ahead and rewrite/ translate it and put it on AO3?

I've been reading sabriel by garth nix recently (rly in the beginning) but I've noticed some similarities of the old kingdom and the new one and the idea of a god that forbids one type of magic and allows others and i was wondering if garth's writing had inspired anything you've made. something about the charter feels like it could perfectly exist in the silt verses, albeit maybe more messed up.
I actually haven't read anything by Garth Nix, but I will check him out!

💛Smoshblr December Asks Day 21💙
Top 3 tropes in media/fanfic
So in terms of general concepts/tropes I enjoy in all media, there def any iteration of (Enemies/Rivals to) Friends to Lovers; then Found Family <3 and hurt/comfort -> especially in combo with one of the other two tropes!
When in comes to which types of fanfics I specifically seek out most of the time:
(putting these answers and the fanfic recs under the cut, cause this is once again getting way longer than I intended)
I know this is super unpopular, but I love well done miscommunication in fanfics! Hate it in most movies tho!!
-> also what I think constitutes “good” miscommunication basically boils down to “ is the miscommunication plot or character motivated?” cause in a lot of media the miscommunication feels forced and only meant to prolong or escalate the story
-> but if the miscommunication happens bc the characters are, for example, insecure about sharing certain info/feelings it is way more captivating and relatable (to me)
-> so this is ofc directly related to (Mutual) Pining <3 (plus also connected to another fave of mine: Memory Loss/Amnesia & also secret identity)
2. Forced proximity!!
-> I’m counting both sharing a bed and stuff like fake relationship under this umbrella
-> I just love when characters are forced to interact with each other in a different and typically more intimate way than they usually do! (and what it reveals about themselves and their relationship to eachother!)
3. Fix-it fanfics
-> I actually love original stories that have tragic endings! But there are many ways a story can end in a disappointing way and make me immeditaly turn to what all the wonderful fanfic authors have come up with in order to clean up the mess!
I have way too many favourite fanfics tbh... SO I'm actually gonna do both general and smosh ones I enjoyed a lot recently!
Multifandom (I am a huge podfic girlie, so I'm gonna give them a shoutout here!)
Harry Hart and the Honey Pot: An Indiana Jones Adventure - reena_jenkins, samanthahirr - Kingsman (Movies) [Archive of Our Own] -> I love me a good movie based AU from time to time and the kingsman fandom has so many great writers!
2. [podfic] tomorrow will always and forever now be today (tomorrow is our always and forever) - Matriaya - 9-1-1 (TV) [Archive of Our Own] -> this fic changed me as a person istg; like it is such an incredibly well done take on the timeloop trope, I'm-
3. Be My Savior - Chapter 1 - jessebee - Supernatural [Archive of Our Own] -> this is me coming out as lowkey more of a Sabriel than Destiel fan 🙈 Like ofc Destiel have the better canon story, and I do love them very much; However Sabriel fanfics captured my heart when I was a teenager and are still hanging on by a thread! (also I can still make myself cry instantly via a headcanon I created for them ages ago and that's gotta count for smth 😹)
Smosh Fanfics <3
In general of course any and all fics by Katie @jovenshires 🩷🩵 (love you and your writing to death istg🫶) but having to choose one for this, I'm gonna go with right where you left me - jovenshires (imdeansgirl) - Smosh [Archive of Our Own]
2. doing something like this right on the first try - halfwheeze - Smosh [Archive of Our Own] my most recent bookmark and 100% my fave fic I've read these past few weeks! But Mer 🖤💜@tommybowefuneralattendee has so many banger fanfics, it was super hard to choose! <3 But this fic made me truly ship nintendogs, so it deserves this mention
3. I abstained from choosing any of the amazing spommy fics by the lovely ppl I mentioned above, bc I might have spommy brainworms 24/7, but I cannot lose my multishipper rep! 😹🙈 But here is one of my other fave spommy fics from a different author! maybe my animals live in your zoo - creepysounds - Smosh [Archive of Our Own] edit: by the lovely @tommybones 🫶

Okay, I’m gonna ask about Conversations in the Dark since I love that song <3 although I’m also intrigued by Sweet Tooth as a title, feels like that could go a couple of very different ways lol, I’m picturing either horror or smut or both??
Hiii dear, thank you so much for asking! I love that song too, it's such a good one. This is actually an older WIP I kept out since I still really like it. It's a sabriel (of course xD) and a song fic where Sam and Gabriel finally talk about their relationship and use the darkness of a room as a buffer to feel more comfortable about the conversation. It's an angst fest and a half. Here's a little snipping.
Talk, let's have conversations in the dark
Gabriel’s silhouette visibly stiffened in the darkness. "Sure, Sam, we can talk…" he cleared his throat shifting in his seat, this time moving from against Sam's side.
Sam sucked in a hard breath through his teeth at the loss of contact. The brunette frowned, looking away from the archangel towards the television, turning it off and basking in the darkness. He swallowed glancing at the yellow lights that lined the hallway as the room stayed dark.
"Bout what champ?" Hesitation colored Gabriel’s tone.
Watch movies that we've both already seen
Sam could practically feel the buzz of Gabriel's anxious grace in the air. "Us," he ventured a hand scraping over his jaw before sliding around the back of his neck. "Do you…" Sam sighed feeling the archangel shift but unable to make out more than his outline in the dim light semi hating that Gabriel could probably make out his every facial tic while he couldn't see him at all. "Do you not wanna be around me anymore?" He finally asked with a wave of his hand.
"No. No, I don't want that," Gabriel shifted more, looking at the brunette before turning away. "I like hanging out with you," he said, pausing and Sam thought he would say more, but the hunter could hear the crinkle of cellophane and chewing.
Sam thought about the archangel's response before shaking his head. “Why wouldn’t you look at me now?” He could feel the twitch of Gabriel’s vessel beside him despite the distance the shorter being had put between them on the cushions. “I thought… I thought maybe it was just something new. That you had trouble with and would do to everyone. But you don’t do it with everyone, just me.”
“I look at you! What are you talking about? I look at you all the time,” Gabriel rebutted, scoffing at the idea in the dark.
I ain't even looking at the screen, It's true, I got my eyes on you
"I've been lookin’ at you all night," he admitted in a quiet voice, half covered by the crunch of forgotten potato chips.
Ha! Omg you know me so well, that's freaking hilarious. I honestly laughed so much because weirdly Sweet Tooth is actually a fluffy little piece, a sabriel piece. Sam ends up buying/owning a bakery and Gabe is the baker/general manger he hires. I was trying to write something that was only fluff for once. Unsurprisingly, I have not gotten super far in writing it. Maybe I will turn it into a horror/smut fic at this point... that would be easier to finish lol But here is a little bit from the little bit I actually wrote.
"Hey Gabe," Sam greeted walking to meet him at the counter. "How did this morning go?" Sam asked knowing that Gabriel had already been there for hours preparing for the day.
"Easy Peasy," Gabriel said with a shrug, tilting his head as his eyes drifted over Sam as the taller man opened his suit jacket and leaned his forearm on the counter. A sound of breezy approval leaving his lips. "I got it perfect this time."
Sam's brows arched in surprise and excitement, his grin growing. "Really? You figured it out?"
"Was there ever a doubt?" Gabriel smirked, brows bouncing as he reached below the counter for the covered plate he had kept for Sam's visit.
Sam had been more than happy when Gabriel had expressed his want to bring back some of the original sweets, but they hadn't left any of the recipes behind when Sam bought the store. Sam hadn't doubted him to be honest Gabriel was amazing with an oven and had loved this shop just as much as Sam had when they were kids. He had been the natural choice when Sam had been looking for a new baker last year. The brunette smiled pulling off the lid and grinning at the double fudge and white chocolate chip brownies.
"In you? Never," Sam laughed, picking one of the three up. "Unless I need you to pick me up at the airport," he teased with a crooked smile.

I need help with a fic :)
I'm planning on writing a fic series that is basically the show My Babysitter's a Vampire (MBAV) but with Supernatural characters (all in their teens). I need help figuring out two parallels. For those who do not know about/aren't familiar with My Babysitter's a Vampire, aka the show that shaped my childhood and single-handedly explains my fascination with supernatural ensemble mystery/drama shows, I'll explain the characters I want to parallel and the issue I am having.
Jesse: Jesse is the very first bad guy/Big Bad of the series and has recurring cameos throughout MBAV. He is the ex-boyfriend of one of the main characters, Sarah, and is responsible for turning her into a vampire, thus creating the premise of the show. His character is an absolute asshole, but he's still an entertaining enough villain (who has the capacity to be super creepy/has issues with consent). Jesse is a leader and is very charismatic, as well as 200 years old.
Erica: Erica is one of the core five of the group. She goes from likeable nerd to villainous vampire in the beginning of the series due to a manipulation of her insecurities and a deep-seated desire to be as powerful as the bullies who tormented her her whole life. She is good at heart, though, and has a soft spot for her best friend (Sarah), which ultimately causes her redemption arc. Regardless of if she's on the side of good or not, though, she's a bitch and I love her, which brings me to the main issue.
I can't decide whether to put Meg (from Supernatural) as Jesse or Erica. For context, the role of Sarah is going to Castiel, and he obviously has a profound connection with Meg in SPN. If Meg is Jesse, I can make use of her villainous aspects, because in the show she is highly charismatic yet temperamental.
However, on the other hand, Meg as Erica would be interesting because they both have similar redemption arcs and they have similar attitudes. Also, and this is not a huge factor behind my reasoning, Supernatural is a bit of a boys club? Like don't get me wrong, I love all the guys, but it'd be nice to actually have some female main characters (the only one I have is Charlie for the main characters).
HOWEVER.
I would like to use Gabriel as a main character. I had him as Erica in my early fic ideas, and he worked because he has villainous aspects to his character and a heart of gold (but is capable of being selfish). In that version, he was Cas' brother as well. If I use Meg for Erica, I wouldn't know who to cast Gabe as, because I love writing him. (Also, he could be a potential love interest for Sam, because I do ship Sabriel. I am trying to stay close-ish to the source material, so, if Gabe isn't in the core five, Sam would never find love...super dumb reasoning buuuuuuut anyways.) Obviously, I would not use Gabriel as Jesse cuz that is kinda gross.
If you hit someone else as ____, please write it in the comments :). Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, if there are any questions, I can probably answer them.

I did not get tagged but I am possessed with this concept.
Rules: Make a 24 hour poll with the names of your WIPs, let it run, then work for 10 minutes for every vote the winner receives.
Dean/Cas pinefest fic is currently at 7k words, and it's easily going to be much longer than the 20k word minimum. you do not get to know anything else. this is all i've been writing lately so if this one is voted, i'll actually work in order from chapter one instead of random scenes. just to make it special instead of the default.
You Can, I Promise is like half heavier kink and half destiel. mostly not together though. (dean goes out and sleeps with some random woman that turns out to be a witch). fuck or die. for funsies.
sabriel wingfic is porn. very heavy on the wings and supposed to be "disgustingly affectionate", but i havent written that in yet.
cas wingfic is both destiel and sam&cas, and sfw. i saw a parrot video and got possessed by it.
destiel religious imagery is just porn. dean is trans. and the altar that cas worships at.
[heavily redacted] will not be shared for another 7 months. but its on here because i think its funny to put it on here.

me and @garden-ghoul just started a game of Like Skyscrapers. over 3½ hours we didn't write a single word of the "actual" magnum opus, but we DID do session 0 and world/character creation, in which we talked about/referenced:
Fly By Night, & Frances Hardinge's works in general
Temeraire
Sorcerer to the Crown & Spirits Abroad
Dark Lord of Derkholm, & Diana Wynne Jones' works in general
Sabriel
Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett
Ninefox Gambit
anyway the Writer (Funeste Étoile-Filante) is from a fantasy dimension and the Translator (Valeur True-Signal Mercy-of-Harmony) is from a space station in a sci-fi dimension. we spent some time talking about metaphysics and whether or not both dimensions have a concept of Online.
