GUESTS OF THE CHAOS CLOVER ☘️
Yara Vonnegut!
Yara was a powerful addition to the story and important figure of the Chaos Clover. They met at Rupperdook and helped her retreive her family from a man named Adam, who had connections with the Volstrucker. She was one herself, though that is a life she wishes to put behind. Leaving a powerful message to Tonitrua Pasternikas, Yara Vonnegut set with her TEAM to run away from the prying eyes of the Volstrucker. Here's her playlist, made by our honoured guest @peixotizando 🧡 PLAYLIST
Angel - Massive Attack
For obvious reasons :P
Armed and Ready - Casey e Jeff Williams
“Feel like I’m finally unbroken feel like i’m back from the dead my strength back and confidence growing out of my way ‘cause I'm armed and ready”
Ever since you woke up, you feel lost. You lost arm became a strenght, so, now, you're ready. It's not everyone who can make the best of a flaw.
Burn - 2WEI
You're a killer. You were made for it. Either you kill or it isn't going to be pretty. It's not like Weiss, Blake e Ruby. It's not poetic, it's not a dance, it's not silent. It's loud. You destroy. Your eyes become red and you just go. You know how far you can reach. You burn and you go through the end.
Free Fall - Ok Goodnight
Not even your wings are enought to lift the lack of their presence. But, that doesn't mean you can't survive the fall. You would to anything for them.
“Rage seems to fill her heart with fire as she sings a flame that burns her prison gates”
God’s Gonna Cut You Down - Christian Larsson (cover de Johnny Cash)
Your origin is no mystery, you know who you are and what is your potential. But you don't know what He wants. He gave you life, but what dos He want from you?
Home - Casey e Jeff Williams
For you, it was always easy to find family in other people. Family is everything to you, it always was. You're afraid of being alone, and for a period of time, you were. Nothing is more scaring than being alone. But these people are helping you find your own, and, oddly enough, you can see a bit of your own family in them.
Journey (Ready to Fly) - Natasha Blume
“But let me tell you, I’m ready to fly I survived through rainstorms, sandstorms I fought the war, now it’s time to go home”
Killer - The Hoosiers
“I hate my work but I’m in control I'm fearless now but it cost my soul”
You're tired of your job, tired of being good at what you do. Tired of listening "You fascinate me" from those above you. Tired of being an experiment. You don't wanna be a monster, nor a machine anymore. You can have your own path and doubts.
Nevermore - Casey e Jeff Williams/Adrienne Cowan
For reasons………….
Red like Roses - Casey e Jeff Williams
It's them. Your family. Your sister. Your best friend. The love of your life... You shouldn't be apart, no one should dare to tear you apart. But you'll get them back. You'll protect them.
Simmer - Hayley Williams
Wrath is welcomed. It always was. It heats your body, activates a strenght that only you can access. Your anger is to proctect. You need to proctect those who need you and anger helps you. Wrath is welcome.
Through the Valley - Ashley Johnson (cover de Shawn James)
“I walk through the valley of the shadow of death and I fear no evil because I’m blind to it all and my mind and my gun they comfort me ‘cause I know I’ll kill my enemies when they come”
Weapon - Against the Current
You're a weapon, they use you and you know that. “Machine” they call you. You listen and you know what it means. They mold you and that's what you become.
You just hope it won't leave you alone in the future.
You’ll Be In My Heart - Phil Collins
“My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm. This bond between us can’t be broken I will be here, don’t you cry”
She's your perfection. The love you can't describe, that no one can understand. She's your sister, she's everything for you. Your heart outside your body.
You’re No God - Laura Marling
Sometimes, you can let yourself be protected.

Round 2 Poll 7
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vo, Rumblecusp, Lucidian Ocean: Vo is a treehouse village on the island of Rumblecusp, in the Lucidian Ocean. Its inhabitants were subject to a strange magical effect causing them to lose memories. The Mighty Nein uncovered the cause in 836, and most of the ≈100 villagers left, so it is unclear if it is still inhabited today.

Cathmoíra, Domunas: Cathmoíra was a pre-Calamity city in the continent formerly known as Domunas, now the Shattered Teeth. It is a sister city and docking point for the floating city Avalir.

a travesty ive barely posted meta for artagan here when anyone who knows me knows ive written universes about him. so, a bit to ponder on:
something interesting about artagan - and by extension many fae in cr in general - is how thoroughly he's defined by selfishness as the core value of a fae, when we are shown time & again even before artagan gets his redemption arc that that isnt true.
now, arti is selfish. hes the definition of lust, & sloth, & sheer debauchery. he'd rather sit back than help even his favorite little tiefling (at first - more on that later). he would rather abandon his followers to an island that would destroy their memory than attempt to lead them.
but.
he planned for his followers to land on rumblecusp because to him, a fae, losing memories was completely Insignificant - and he literally did some of their paperwork to help them along, and did the work to ensure travelercon left them with each other. he was benevolent enough to vm their first meeting, showing incredible patience despite their disregard for him. he saved vex from drowning. he chose to befriend jester after seeing her be hurt by lord sharpe's son. he comforted jester when he could, when he never needed to. this is all before The Travelercon Kick, before he agreed to help the m9 into the feywild & shift time for them for no price, before he helped jester battle trent/omentis and made sure his spells did not hurt innocent bystanders.
this isnt some garuntee that he, pre-jester, was any saint. but what sticks out to me is how much the trait of selfishness is vastly applied to him. not only does sehanine's angel refer to him as a selfish creature twice, but he refers to himself that way the episode before. it is as if he has endless history with being called that, as if he is the most vile creature by virtue of being an archfey, and he made peace with that, leaned into that until jester walked into his life.
which always leads, in my head, to thinking about the fae of this show in general. they are so vastly blanketed as dangerous. and some are. but the more you analyze it the more you see how it's less integral to their being, and more what they accept they are. if youre seen as a monster, and whimsy is inherent to you, you will play the role to see what happens (i see this in characters like ira immensely). we see the younger generation of fae raised away from these generalizations - fearne & morrighan - break the stereotype near entirely. sure, fearne picks pockets and loves her friends lowkey possessively - but weve seen time & again how thats playful, and gives way to so much selflessness she's falling apart at the seams, only just now telling the party her fears. and morrighan shows no possessiveness at all, being shy & near subservient as a waitress. they are living proof that a fae's worst traits are a matter of nurture.
watching artagan is watching some of his peak fae-court upbringing begin to break down by exposure to a different world. i always recall how both he & ira hiss at the feywild for its contradictions, its rules when it's a land built for free wills - which implies the fae are not let to be themselves, but have their culture shaped by courts so strict they wont even let fae leave to exandria. the worst ideas about them begin to shatter the more cr tells us how fae society has fallen into something like an oil slick into an ocean - literal imagery used by athion & yu. the fae's free existence has been polluted.
artagan was our first example of all of that. and how it's possible to become better.

nothing could have prepared me for how absolutely terrible of a time caduceus is having on rumblecusp. this poor man. he’s succeeded maybe two saving throws in four full episodes on this island. he’s drowning in tar. he’s inhaling poisonous fog. he’s displeasing vokodo. he’s one of the only people who can cure the memories of the party and he immediately loses some of his own. i would die for this pathetic firbolg

I know that during Echoes of the Soltice that Fjord proposed to Jester, and that people would like it to be a destination wedding on Rumblecusp, but being just at that point in the main campaign I would not be surprised if Caduceus never wants to go anywhere near that island ever again

I've seen some theories passing by regarding to where the "Ruidus backdoor" Fearne discovered last episode leads. I just know it's another place than Ruidus, maybe another plane, but not sure (because the lattice could explain why the messages couldn't be received, maybe).
Some theories are cool : a place in Exandria we haven't seen at all, possibly one connected to that portion of Exandria the gods carved out from to create Ruidus ? an elemental plane (well except the Water Plane, we know it's not that one). Some theories are cool and very funny : how I would laugh if this backdoor would lead to some divine planes ! Whether it be Arborea, Elysium, Ysgard, etc. If the gods, when creating Ruidus, would have created just in casies this small passage, it would completely defeat Ludinus' whole life goal. Plus would you imagine if Bells Hells ended up meeting a Prime Deity, those chucklefucks, with the themes of this campaign ?? It would be wild.
But also yesterday, I was thinking about Rumblecusp again, and thought it would also be pretty funny if that "Ruidus backdoor" lead to that. We know there were at least 5 passages on that island, possibly to the Underdark, the Shadowfell, Blightshore, the Water Plane, and the Fire Plane. What if, when Vokodo broke through, the damage done was even more immense than that, and that he somehow managed the impossible ?

Battle of the Ships
Round 3 Part 1 Poll 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut
Lookfar :
This legend of a boat has seen through painted eyes:
- Selidor, the last island of the world
- The great dragon Orm Embar, descendant of Orm who slew and was slain by the hero Erreth-Akbe
- The Dragons' Run, which has been sailed by no other boat still extant
- The first great feat of the Archmage Ged who was the greatest wizard of his time
- The Ring of Erreth-Akbe's return to the fair towers of Havnor Great Port, reuniting at last the two halves of the forgotten Rune of Peace.
- Kalessin, the eldest dragon, who may be Segoy who raised up all the islands of the world and said the Word of Making
- And probably a whole load of other stuff that didn't get shown in the books
So what I'm trying to say here is that Lookfar is ICONIC. If you want a reliable boat you want Lookfar. She's nimble. She's fast. She's easy to handle. When the archmage of a world where every land mass is a small to medium sized island decides you're his boat of choice you are a top tier boat. 10/10.
Balleater :
During the time when Orly was the Balleater's acting captain he aimed to turn the ship's use to more legitimate trade rather than illicit piracy. In just a few months, the crew did enough business along the Menagerie Coast that the Mighty Nein's split of the earnings was 1,312 gold.
On the way to the island of Rumblecusp, the ship was attacked by a dragon turtle, who was seeking treasure. The crew was able to momentarily fend off the dragon turtle, and made their way to Rumblecusp, though the dragon turtle made chase. Upon reaching the island, the crew disembarked. The following day, the dragon turtle (by then nicknamed "Dieter") attacked the Balleater, destroying it.
Considering that Dieter waited until the ship was "docked" and unmanned for him to attack and destroy the Balleater after The Nein were able to fend off his attacks goes to show the prowess of both The Mighty Nein and the Balleater.
The Balleater is in my opinion, the most memorable/notable of the ships that The Mighty Nein have been in possession of and I just think it's really cool.

Hi, I’d like to get back on my bullshit for a second.
My Essek Food bullshit, specifically.
Because I remembered Rumblecusp. And I had been enlightened.
Essek would be so excited to eat dinosaurs and whatever else fucked up bullshit lurks on that island. I’m so serious.
The Nein go on dinosaur hunts for old times sake and Essek is just listing fancy ass dishes to try and make because he is noble born elf fancy ass- so. The Nein are like, butchering this T-Rex and he’s just floating there, asking if they think they could make a roulade with that flank? Discussing fillings and sauces and being otherwise unhelpful.
He and Yasha would have the time of their lives hunting and munching on the crazy, huge, carnivorous bugs that live on that island. Like, they are in The Tower, and on one end of the table are most of the Nein with regular food with like exotic fruits they foraged that day and on the other end Yasha and Essek are having those pillbugs from The Emperor’s New Grove going on.
Essek might be treacherous heretic (Jester made him a tunic with it written across the Chester and everything), but he’s having a ‘sloppy Joe’ (will the wonders of the neins naming ever cease?) made with Ankylosaur meat. Suck it, Umavi.

GET TO KNOW THE CHAOS CLOVER ☘️
Camellia Thelidryv!
mini by One More Multiverse.
Perhaps one of the most mysterious characters, even to herself, Camellia is the sorcerer of this party, receiving powers from the Shadowfell for reasons unknown. She is not to be feared though, only when she's angry and her wings of the Fallen are shown. Calm in her own nature, Camellia tries to make a peaceful conversation between the Dark Powers and the Light, trying to prove that there is, yes, a common ground between two realms.
With a past full of regrets, she found herself in Rumblecusp where she found some solace in the arms of Mar, as we know today as Tonitrua Pasternikas, her ex-wife. Those were good times, with sweet oblivion to not remember of past mistakes.
Luckily enough, that solace would follow her in the form of the Chaos Clover, who embraced her true self without fear and accepted what is and what will become of her. Slowly coming to the process of trust and finding herself, having good friends as family is the best wish someone could ask for.
Fun facts about her: Camellia has grown around several music instruments and now has learned to master the Ehru, a Marquisian art her mothers taught her before. She's the flower girl, always with flowers on her hair and flowers to give others. Also, in mechanics, Camellia has the Stress Points due to PTSD, adding to the cool mechanics on this campaign. Want a flower?

Regarding your tags: do you mind elaborating on the Rumblecusp thing? I caught up to streams during the Aeor arc and didn't really see fandom stuff earlier, so I'm a bit curious what you meant by that? Thanks in advance!
(in reference to this post)
Not at all! Basically, during the Rumblecusp arc, there was a lot of back and forth of who was Ackshually Supportive of Jester And Her Choices, and, with the admission that I myself am not a neutral person in these discussions, they all conveniently aligned with the decisions of the character they most shipped with Jester:
Caleb generally let her do whatever and stayed out of it, which was interpreted by people who shipped him and Jester as him supporting her (because he lets her do whatever), but leaves out the context of Caleb's whole canonical deal of feeling he cannot judge other people or tell them what to do in their own personal matters because he feels he has no moral position to do so; ie, this is not explicit support of Jester but rather how Caleb interacts with basically anything in which he is not directly involved. Do note also: Caleb tries but fails to have Cat's Claw grab Jester when she holds on to Artagan; there is, clearly, a point where he will oppose her choices.
Beau was pretty against Artagan the entire time. Honestly I think Beau punching him was very funny and she did, to her credit, ask permission first, but anyway, this was interpreted as Beau protecting Jester from The Traveler's malice. And, to be clear, he did bring them to Memory Loss Island on purpose, and while he promised Jester he'd have helped her, it's fair to have concerns about that. But Beau - understandably, since she frankly doesn't have good relationships that date back to early childhood the way Jester does - never quite seems to grasp how important Artagan is to her, and that you can be frustrated with him (hell, Jester is) and worried about Jester while still acknowledging that cutting off Artagan entirely will never be on the table. (Given Beau's mechanics, she is unable really to interfere with Jester being pulled up into the sky so I can't judge her on that).
Fjord ends up in the middle. Jester specifically seeks out his opinion, and he essentially says "look, we will support you as long as you're not being forced to change yourself to suit Artagan." He and Beau also agree to intervene with the Traveler as needed. When Jester is being taken, he goes up there with her and tells her to please let go and that the party will catch her. Eventually, Artagan takes the choice away and kicks Jester (and Fjord) off.
Now for what it's worth, I do think talking through these three approaches is interesting! All three characters are, canonically, people who care about Jester and harbor romantic feelings, and all three are approaching this in real and interesting ways consistent with their characterization. The reason why the discussion was eyerollingly stupid to me is not that it existed; it was that first, it really only centered around those three and either ignored or excused non-romantic faves (Caduceus is very suspicious of Artagan and the judgiest man to ever exist (affectionate), but people arguing in favor of Caleb's laissez-faire attitude who liked Caduceus often gave Cad's judgment a pass while calling Fjord and Beau awful. They also largely ignored Yasha and Veth, who both had imo approaches not dissimilar to Fjord's, though more subtly borne out in that they did not explicitly talk to her about it.)
Second, and more obviously, it was all "what does Jester want" until she decided she wanted to kiss someone they didn't want her to, and then suddenly she's a dumb bitch and her choices are bad, so, you know, was it ever about respecting her choices, or was it a constantly shifting goalpost of what supports the ship. (sidebar: if the goalpost is constantly shifting for your ship? does not bode well for the ship, typically.)
Anyway the two points I'm getting at here are:
I think you can love someone unconditionally in that you care about them as a person regardless of what they do, but that doesn't mean you can't judge them or encourage them to make different choices. It's like a twist on the old saying: if your friend jumped off a bridge, would you follow them? Except it's "if your friend was going to jump off a bridge, and it was their choice, would you stop them?" or "If your friend were going to push a ton of innocent people off a bridge, would you stop them?" There is a difference between "I want you to have agency in your life and be happy" and "I'd rather let you destroy yourself or others than push back even a little on your choices". There's something selfish, in being so scared to lose someone before the fact that you risk losing them far more permanently; and something deeper and more selfless in saying "I love you so much that I'd rather you hate me and live, than that you die or commit atrocities." Like, you should be there for them, but you don't need to validate things you believe are harmful just to support them.
The core principle of literary analysis is basically "any interpretation is valid provided it is evidenced by the text." You can watch through the lenses of shipping goggles and enjoy yourself; but often those are not supported by the text. And that's fine! I know I tend to sound condescending towards this and I will admit it's because I see absolutely no appeal in it, but if you want blorbo 1 and blorbo 2 to kiss and want to watch a show that seems to be driving to that end point regardless of canon, then that is your right and I am not going to stop you. However, no one else is under any obligation to find validity, let alone agree with that interpretation. Indeed, just as it's valid for you to watch with shipping goggles, it's valid for other people to vocally disagree (provided they're not harassing you and are doing so in a place you can choose to block out), particularly if it outright conflicts with canon or is hypocritical in the context of your other interpretations.

thinking affectionately of the m9 today :) Happy end-of-campaign anniversary to a bunch of rowdy distrustful chucklefucks with fake names up the wazoo who ended up, among other things:
in a circle on a memory wiping island, telling each other true facts, trusting the others to keep them safe. flinging platinum at scary beasts. getting banned from libraries. becoming pirates. getting banned from a pirate town. pissing off their neighbors with a glowing tree on their house. accidental heroes of a nation. saviours of some lost little kids. a buncha jerks bullying a foreman. flinging themselves into, in front of, and after danger for each other. drawing dicks everywhere. pestering enemies into becoming friends. pulling off(?) absolutely terrible and disastrous heists. attending shitty dinners. reading smut in tunnels. eating food together. being certain the world was going to end. saving it anyway. being kind of shitty. being better.
and maybe, most importantly, who ended up being happy. And better. On a pirate ship at sea, at a crowded dinner in a warm house, surrounded by family, surrounded by breakthroughs and fruits of labour, surrounded by loved ones, by warm flowers and life grown by bare hands. Surrounded by a world they saved, sure, yeah. But. These often unhappy, flawed people, who saved each other. Who saved themselves. Who have a glowing tree house in Xhorhas and a vacation spot on Rumblecusp and a magical tower full of cats. And each other.
they saved the world, they saved themselves, they saved each other, these trainwrecky distrustful little gremlins. happy one year anniversary :'D

This week, we have six recs for fics that either are an alternative telling of travelercon or otherwise take place on Rumblecusp! Check them out underneath the cut, and don't forget to comment or kudos if you like them!

A canon divergence from ep97, this incredible fic showcases our beloved Shadowgast as Essek learns how to have friends. And of course, it’s Essek at Travelercon!
Reccer says: This is a fantastic story and well written. There’s already so much wonderful story and there’s still some to tell!
Tumblr media

Caleb and Essek try (and largely fail) to make time on Rumblecusp, but their friends are very nosy.
Reccer says: It's a great comedy of errors, and the scene between Essek and Artagan is one of my favorite scenes out of any CR fanfic I've read to date.
Tumblr media
I know there's something (in the wake of your smile) by professor (5272, Teen) Reccer's Content Notes: No Content Notes

Tumblr media
Fell in love with the fire long ago by quinn_of_aebradore (3680, Teen) Reccer's Content Notes: No Content Notes

Tumblr media
Something Tragic About You by literalfuckinggarbage (44807, Teen) Reccer's Content Notes: Graphic Depictions of Violence, suicidal ideation
What if Caleb lost his memories on Rumblecusp, then turned to Essek for help?
Reccer says: A delight from beginning to end, with some fun twists and turns along the way - I especially love Verin's insertion into all of this.
Tumblr media
To Have Owned The Sun by Dragonslaeyr (59213, Teen) Reccer's Content Notes: No Content Notes
They say the crumbling town on the island of Rumblecusp had a name once, but the signage was washed out to sea years ago. Caleb Widogast—healthy, healing, and currently a little directionless—only wants to know why nobody in this strange town seems to have heard of Essek Thelyss—arrogant, arcanist, and the man Caleb is half in love with—especially seeing as he's been living there for years.
Reccer says: It's cozy, atmospheric and a very sweet mystery

What are your hopes for the animation of the mighty nein
Listen, I am sorry for what this answer has become.
If you mean what am I looking forward to in general? Fjord, hot. Jester, amazing. Essek, also hot. Veth, agent of chaos. Early Fjorester flirting that Fjord doesn't understand is flirting. Early Beauyasha that is just Beau being thirsty af. Dunamancy ANIMATED. Polymorph shenanigans. ORLY. Pirates. Jellyfish talk. Fjord kissing Jester on the cheek and her malfunctioning (which they would HAVE to leave in, I mean COME ON). Yasha slowly falling for Beau. Beau slowly falling for Yasha. Fjord slowly falling for Jester. Jester's feelings for Fjord evolving into something real and beautiful. Veth pining for Caleb, but being so happy to see her husband and son again. THE RUBY OF THE SEA. Jester's reaction to the Gentleman when they first meet him because Laura was sick during that episode and we didn't get it in campaign. Fjord giving up his powers. The confrontation between Caleb, Fjord, and Nott at the High Richter's house.
LISTEN I COULD GO ON I WANT IT ALL.
If you mean season one, here is what I hope happens in the season. And I would like to say that this is me shooting for the moon, not necessarily what will realistically happen.
I would like an episode of intros. Show me the groups arriving and setting up and then meeting at the inn in Trostenwald and going to the carnival together and the whole fucking carnival show. That's my ideal episode 1.
Then, we get the carnival fight and everyone getting arrested
An episode for the investigation and finding the island
An episode for fighting Kylre and clearing their names and Beau seeing Cobalt Soul people
Travel hijinks aka just them arriving in Alfield and jumping in to help, then going into the mines and SHAKASTE (two episodes here)
More travel hijinks because if you think they'll skip the syphillis bandits something is wrong with you. But also Zadash arrival and running into Yasha again.
We've got to see the Crownsguard job and rescue the guy to get the Gentleman hint.
Also, meeting the Knights of Requital and going to do that job.
Then they have to break into the houses and the finale ideally for me would be them blowing up the High Richter's house, them running away, and then seeing the tower explode. And that would be where the season would cut.
Honestly, I don't think they need to condense much. I like the idea of seeing the growing pains here and watching them figure out how to interact with each other as a group and some awkwardness.
NOW. Do you mean WHAT DO I WANT FROM THE WHOLE THING?! I want eight seasons. I have a summary.
Season two:
Getting the beacon
Meet the Gentleman and accept the jobs
The Labenda Swamp stuff/Kiri/Hupperdook
First Lorenzo fight/Molly death
Rescuing the friends
Finale would be Molly's funeral and Yasha leaving again
Season three:
Finish up the Zadash contracts and totally cut out the two weeks of downtime, just head straight to Nicodranas
Meet up with Yasha again, Nicodranas adventures, stealing a boat.
Pirate adventures all season. Avantikaaaaaaa.
I want the Happy Fun Ball to be included please.
Finale is the second Uk'otoa temple
Season four:
Back on land, head to Felderwin
Xhorhas (essek essek essek essek)
Asarius and the rifts, then giving up the beacon early/mid-season
Fjord/Uk'otoa power struggles
BAZZOXAN
Finale is Yasha getting stolen by Obann
Season five:
Fjord giving up his powers!
Reani!
Fjord and the Wildmother become buddies
Rescue Yussa from the Happy Fun Ball
The Permaheart!
Tbh the Happy Fun Ball could be half of this season and I wouldn't complain.
Then getting Yasha back and killing Obann!
Season six:
Rexxentrum to start the ball rolling on peace talks
Xhorhas to talk about the peace talks
Isharnai
White Dawn Lagoon
Essek reveal
Uk'otoa attack
Finally the finale is the actual peace talks and continuing on or arriving at Rumblecusp
Season seven:
I would also be cool with s6 finale being the Uk'otoa attack on the even of the peace talks and s7 starting with the peace talks
Travelercon!
Vokodo! Vilya!
Rexxentrum dinner!
Vess Derogna/Eiselcross
Finale would be death of Vess Derogna
Season eight:
Aeor exploration
Palling around with the Tomb Takers
Essek is a safe place.
Family goodbyes
Back to Aeor
Cognouza
Epilogue
I'm not saying this is what is GOING to happen, but this is how I would like to see events distributed, because of narrative beats and stuff.
