A somewhat heroic St. George-ish Franz Von Papen tries to lance the dragon afflicting Germany with poverty, need, economic distress, and destitution, but the lance of ‘government decree’ kills only the victim, not the cause. Of course, one of the odd feelings reading old issues of Simplicissimus is that though we know von Papen as one of the gravediggers of German democracy, he is generally presented in these pages as a totally normal politician dealing with not so normal situation.

A power-crazed president. A coup plot centered around an armed group taking over the meeting place of the country’s law makers.
No, I’m not talking about Trump and the terrorists who invaded the US Capitol in January of 2021.
Events in two other countries reminded us on Wednesday that we constantly need to stand on guard for democracy.
First to Peru. 🇵🇪
Peru president removed from office and charged with 'rebellion' after alleged coup attempt
Peru’s president, Pedro Castillo, has been removed from office and detained on charges of “rebellion” after he announced he would shutter congress and install a “government of exception” – just hours before he was due to face an impeachment vote.

In a televised speech, Castillo said he would temporarily shut down congress, launch a “government of exception” to rule by decree and called for new legislative elections.
The move immediately prompted mass resignations from the cabinet, and accusations that Castillo had attempted to seize power illegally.
“I strongly condemn this coup d’état and call on the international community to assist in the democratic re-establishment of democracy in Peru,” tweeted the foreign minister, César Landa, as he announced his resignation. “Castillo took this decision without my knowledge or support.”
Castillo’s bid to avoid an impeachment vote swiftly turned into an own goal as the armed forces and the police withdrew their support, saying, in a joint statement, that Castillo’s move was “contrary to the established constitutional order”.
Meanwhile, Peru’s constitutional court called Castillo’s decision to dissolve congress “a coup” and said the leader was no longer in charge of the country.

Castillo became president winning by the narrowest of margins in June 2021, shaking up the country’s entrenched class system.

But the novice president made numerous blunders, appointing barely qualified ministers and accumulating allegations of corruption and influence trafficking linked to his family and allies, which were investigated by the public prosecutor’s office.

The public prosecutor’s office confirmed late on Wednesday that Castillo had been arrested and charged with allegedly “breaching constitutional order”, after he was accused of an attempted coup and seen fleeing the presidential palace.
Earlier in the day, the country’s national police tweeted that “former president” Pedro Castillo had been detained, shortly after congress voted to remove him.
And meanwhile in Germany. 🇩🇪
'Glimpse Into the Abyss': Germany Takes Out Far-Right Coup Plotters
German police carried out massive raids on Wednesday on a suspected far-right terrorist network which was allegedly plotting to violently overthrow the government.
The network was headed by a minor aristocrat and contained special forces soldiers and a former MP.
Germany’s public service-run Tagesschau reported that with 3,000 police officers targeting 130 locations, the raids were probably the biggest anti-terror operation in modern German history.
The network belonged to the radical Reichsbürger (“Reich citizens”) scene – followers of a distinctly German strand of sovereign citizen ideology, who believe the modern German state is illegitimate, and controlled by a shadowy “deep state.”
Prosecutors said the group believed in a mix of conspiracy ideologies including QAnon, and had even tried to establish contacts with representatives of Russia, who they delusionally believed would help them achieve their goals.

The morning raids targeted 130 locations across 11 German states. Twenty-five suspects were arrested, including one in Austria and another in Italy, with 22 accused of being members of the alleged terror network, and three others of having acted as supporters. All but one of the arrested suspects were German nationals, bar one Russian national, referred by prosecutors only as Vitalia B, in line with German privacy laws, who is alleged to have helped the network’s attempts to establish contacts with Russia.

“This isn’t just one of the biggest raids against the far right in Germany in years, it’s actually the largest anti-terror raid ever here,” said Nicholas Potter, an expert on right-wing extremism at the Amadeu Antonio Foundation, a Berlin-based anti-racism organisation..

“Their plans were very concrete: they wanted to attack the energy grid, storm the Bundestag, establish a ‘new state order’ with their own ‘shadow cabinet’ in waiting, and try state prosecutors and judges at a trial they call Nuremberg 2.0. They wanted civil war. And they allegedly wanted it before Christmas. This is terrorism.”
So in Peru, Pedro Castillo was removed from office and arrested on the same day he tried to shut down Peru’s Congress. That’s what should have happened here on January 6th. Just as Castillo had desired to “rule by decree” Trump has since talked about terminating the US Constitution.
In Germany, an armed far right group with connections to QAnon (and perhaps Russia) was plotting to storm the Bundestag and seize control of the government. That plot is an echo of what happened at the US Capitol. There are still armed extremist groups in the US who are prepared to use force to forward their agenda.
Regardless of country, the real conflict in the world these days is between democracy and tyranny. Those of us who prefer democracy cannot afford to become distracted by minor internal divisions.

You guys understand fascism is a specific political position with multiple criteria and not just any type of authority, right?
You understand that the authority of ethics and technology (ethics being a type of technology, actually) can be employed without devolving into fascism, right?
Because I'm seeing a lot of anarchists get on here and just start talking about any type of exclusionary behavior as fascism/or at the very least conflate authority with fascism

Her Excellency is a distinguished writer, however She is not free from threat of having writer’s block or other issues, so we ask again for your patience as writing stories not only takes time but a considerable amount of effort on her part.
In addition to the rule above, Her Majesty’s interests, inspiration, and motivations is ever-changing so please visit Her Majesty’s Tea to see her current interests.
Her Excellency will not take part and write sensitive content, topics, or themes, such as rape, incest, and so on. This is in regard for Her safety, the safety of her readers, and her wish for her page to be a safe haven for all individuals who have come to dwell here.

Submitting a Noble Request (Story asks)
Be certain that you have come to understand the Royal Decree and obey it.
Her Majesty is an avid supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and thus accepts requests correlating to it (i.e: Male x Male or Female x Female).
Requests will either be written in Scenario or Headcanon format if asked. SFW and NSFW requests will also be accepted, however, minors should not interact with any NSFW content.
An SFW or NSFW Alphabet would also be accepted but the letters would be chosen from the character’s name (i.e: Ezreal = E-Z-R-E-A-L).
Being detailed in your requests would be greatly appreciated.
Should a requester not specify if they desire a Scenario or Headcanon, Her Majesty will default to write it in Headcanon format.
Should a requester not specify if they desire a SFW or NSFW, Her Majesty will default to write in SFW.
Should a requester not specify if they desire a male or female reader, Her Majesty will default to place a gender neutral reader instead and will use neutral pronouns such as they/them.

- For League of Legends:
Characters from LoR (Legends of Runeterra) are accepted as well since it is only an extension of the universe.
Characters appearing in comics or in lores of official champions are also accepted.
You may also ask of champions in specific skins.
- For Valorant:
Her Majesty asks you to specify if you desire a non-agent or agent reader. If not, she will automatically do an agent reader.
- For Venom:
Please specify if you desire only Eddie, only Venom, or both. This rule also applies to Carlton Drake & Riot, Cletus Kassady & Carnage, and any other characters that have or had a symbiote.
Submitting a Noble Query (General asks or submissions)
Note to remember and obey the Royal Decree at all times.
Whatever and whoever you may be, She will accept you and what shall you inquire of her. Not only is She kind, She can also provide a sense of security, love, and a good advice should you need it.
She is always first a mother, to two children (and to her husband) and a caretaker to their pet/s. As such, you are allowed to inquire of their current whereabouts.
Submitting a Noble Summons (Roleplay asks):
All Noble Summons are going to be held under a different page, in The Sanctum of All Existence. As such, you are expected to ask within that page. Any Noble Summons made here on this page will be invalidated.

Let's not even talk about Billy's EO outfit, with all that purple tissue and all those tassels, I don't think it's a nabatean thing, it's just that Rhea, who totally designed it herself, has no fashion sense.
But it's not a reason to wear mullets!
Aelfric was still in his rebellious teenager phase and decided to subtly piss her off by keeping his mullet, and Yuri finds it trendy.
AG!Cyril entertained the idea of keeping a mullet "to keep warm" but Lady Rhea insisted that it was not necessary, adding she would rather hand sew him fifty scarves and hats if he is cold than let him wear a mullet.
Knowing what her scarves look like (all those tassels makes Cyril think they're closer to the curtains he used to dust in the Goneril estate than a real scarf), he declined and asked Catherine instead if she had some scarf - he wears one with the crest of charon embroided in it, and no one seems to care (Catherine doesn't wear one herself, because she's totes not from House Charon, it's just some stuff she happened to have).

The Emperor's Decrees;
Rules to live by if you wish to interact with everyone's favorite, most handsome Disney Princess Emperor!
PORTRAYAL: I play Kuzco as close to canon as possible, following the events of both the movie & the television show. He is based off of the idea that after the events of the movie, Yzma altered documents stating that unless Kuzco took a bride, or earned an education he would not be fit to become Emperor in a bid to take over the throne once more. He was subsequently booted out of the palace & into school to earn a proper education amongst peasants his own age. My portrayal takes place after his graduation & reclaiming the throne but I am very comfortable jumping around to just about any point in his story. Let me know what you prefer, or if you’re only familiar with the movie & I’ll be happy to work around it!
SHIPPING; This account is multi-ship. I’m all for shipping & developing a relationship between characters, but I’m a big believer in allowing that relationship to develop organically. I prefer for it to happen over the course of our story-lines, after chemistry builds up.
MAINS; I will have mains, & am looking for any & all connections from The Emperor’s New Groove/School franchise! I am always open to the possibility of building up relationships, & am looking for mains from any & all other verses as well.

I think a lot of folks in indie RPG spaces misunderstand what's going on when people who've only ever played Dungeons & Dragons claim that indie RPGs are categorically "too complicated". Yes, it's sometimes the case that they're making the unjustified assumption that all games are as complicated as Dungeons & Dragons and shying away from the possibility of having to brave a steep learning cure a second time, but that's not the whole picture.
A big part of it is that there's a substantial chunk of the D&D fandom – not a majority by any means, but certainly a very significant minority – who are into D&D because they like its vibes or they enjoy its default setting or whatever, but they have no interest in actually playing the kind of game that D&D is... so they don't.
Oh, they'll show up at your table, and if you're very lucky they might even provide their own character sheet (though whether it adheres to the character creation guidelines is anyone's guess!), but their actual engagement with the process of play consists of dicking around until the GM tells them to roll some dice, then reporting what number they rolled and letting the GM figure out what that means.
Basically, they're putting the GM in the position of acting as their personal assistant, onto whom they can offload any parts of the process of play that they're not interested in – and for some players, that's essentially everything except the physical act of rolling the dice, made possible by the fact most of D&D's mechanics are either GM-facing or amenable to being treated as such.*
Now, let's take this player and present them with a game whose design is informed by a culture of play where mechanics are strongly player facing, often to the extent that the GM doesn't need to familiarise themselves with the players' character sheets and never rolls any dice, and... well, you can see where the wires get crossed, right?
And the worst part is that it's not these players' fault – not really. Heck, it's not even a problem with D&D as a system. The problem is D&D's marketing-decreed position as a universal entry-level game means that neither the text nor the culture of play are ever allowed to admit that it might be a bad fit for any player, so total disengagement from the processes of play has to be framed as a personal preference and not a sign of basic incompatibility between the kind of game a player wants to be playing and the kind of game they're actually playing.
(Of course, from the GM's perspective, having even one player who expects you to do all the work represents a huge increase to the GM's workload, let alone a whole group full of them – but we can't admit that, either, so we're left with a culture of play whose received wisdom holds that it's just normal for GMs to be constantly riding the ragged edge of creative burnout. Fun!)
* Which, to be clear, is not a flaw in itself; a rules-heavy game ideally needs a mechanism for introducing its processes of play gradually.
