okay this is driving me kind of crazy on this read through of Gideon and I need to know if im just missing something or if this is an actual question: what the fuck were Ianthe and Coronabeth going to do??

It seems like they were going in to Canaan house with the expectation that corona would be found out for not being a necro fairly quickly. when Gideon first hears the third house chatting in the halls, Ianthe points out that the lack of structure is allowing corona to skate by longer without anyone figuring out the secret. my guess would be that they planned to reveal corona as Ianthe's cavalier once she had already become a lyctor, assuming it was too late to back out? but given the circumstances being what they were, the third house kept the ruse going up until the last possible second. even when half of the participants had been murdered and Gideon runs into a manic coronabeth, babs is still adamant that she absolutely cannot reveal herself to be a cavalier. why not? why are the consequences of revealing her lack of necromantic ability that extreme? I would guess this is somehow related to whatever greater goals Ianthe has that coronabeth is involved with, as palamedes refers to in The Unwanted Guest. but whatever that plan is, I think they had it in place before they even left Ida, and just adapted as they learned more information. Also as a side note im interested to know how involved corona and their parents were in the formulation of the plan, and how much was Ianthe.

Tried my hand at some poetry based off the premise of the poem 'Chen "No Middle Name" Chen', in which you use only the letters from the title. Big thanks to @faedemon for the idea! It was fun!

Hear me out tho: dream who isnt a genius but overworks himself to the bone bc he loves the game (kinda like oikawa) and setter George who everyone overlooks (kinda like kenma) bc hes never serious (until youre facing him and you really see how much he cares). Let them be distant friends during middle school but then Georges family moves and dream only finds out when george goes to vb club in the 1st day of class ;----;

can't stop thinking of chay and pomme in a royalty au where chay is phil's newly adopted son making him the prince and pomme grew up under her mother, a duchess, and her father, the best fighter in the land.

they meet and she knows exactly how to act in front of other nobles, and chay thinks, well at least i can fight, except they duel only for pomme to sweep the floor with him

Although i think Mav not being able to cook is hilarious i think he learned to cook for Bradley. Whenever Bradley stayed with him after Goose died and Carol was busy (or also dead) Mav would cook whatever Bradley wanted and he perfected all his favourite meals. He’d let Bradley help too once he got older and it became one of their favourite activities.

He cooks for Ice too but they love cooking together and do it whenever they can. Sometimes Ice wakes up to Mav making him breakfast n Mav forces him to go back to bed so they can have breakfast in bed. When Ice is working late Mav leaves fresh cookies on the counter for him or leftovers in the fridge if he missed dinner.

Bradley comes over on Sundays to make dinner with them and soon Jake joins them too. Sometimes Ice and Jake sit outside to let Mav and Bradley have time together or just because there are too many of them in the kitchen or Jake makes a mess and Bradley kicks him out.
