Alright so I FINALLY got the motivation to post this: now sit back and buckle in, because
The Rosabella Beast and Blondie Lockes Sequel Arc: Part 1
(Addendum: If you're new, please read this post, which is the first arc before this one!)
This sequel arc takes place either immediately after or awhile after the Blog Takedown Arc. Daring notices that RB and Blondie don't seem to really... have any friends- in fact, they don't even seem to friends with each other. So, he talks to RB about it. RB is quick to remind him of her trust issues, and the fact that the students don't even seem to like her- why should she step out of her comfort zone if she's just going to be back in it? She's happy just being with Daring... and Blondie- she struggles to admit that, but with some prodding from Daring, she does.
Daring is left.. perturbed and worried. Yes, he's already a fantastic friend, and he'd be more than happy to be her's and Blondie's only one, but... he knows that isn't healthy. Thankfully, he gets a solution to his dilemma: his dear sister Darling is having a get together with some of her own friends- a hexcellent opportunity for the two to open up! With some help from Dexter, he convinces Darling to invite the two.
Through grumbles of "hex this", and "major fairy-fall", they reluctantly attend. They quickly find out that perhaps Daring is wrong about this being a "hexcellent opportunity", because when they walk into the room, Duchess, along with Raven, Apple, Duchess, Ashlynn, Cerise, and Briar (number of people subject to change) are there. The same girls who'd been trying to figure out who the blog runners were. Hex it all.
Because of RB's already established "Beauty" persona, she has an easy chatting the others up, much better than Blondie does... for awhile. Then Cedar comes by to visit, and then the air... changes. RB's smile seems... forced. Her eyes, usually wide and bright, are now narrowed, the light sharper, more dangerous, like a predator's. It's... off-putting, even for Blondie. She's seem RB angry before- like when she discovered a particularly disgusting secret, or like when they found out about the blog being investigated, but this anger... it was different- it wasn't anger- it's hatred. A visceral loathing. And that scares the rookie reporter.
Eventually, the conversation circles towards in on the blog. Everyone voices how relieved they are that it's no longer up. Cedar mentions that she's glad, too- sometimes, secrets are secrets for a reason- for better or worse.
RB snorts, and that metaphorical mask is ripped right off her face. That's rich, she blurts out, sneering, coming from you. Everyone's shocked. They've never seen RB with such unnatural features- an angry snarl, eyes dark, her voice sharp like broken glass. Cedar wonders aloud if RB is referring to her truth curse. RB barks out a bitter laugh. She really doesn't remember? Of course she doesn't.
The air is becoming thick with tension. Blondie looks like she's about to make an emergency exit via the window. RB can feel an all too familiar feeling under her skin. Just like whenever she was writing a new callout post, the beast wants out.
She asks Cedar if she really doesn't remember- or if she's playing dumb to save face. Everyone is too stunned to come to Cedar's defense. In a quick movement, Rosabella's Beast form is on full display. She gets right Cedar's face.
Does this ring any bells?
The room goes dead quiet. The air is suffocating. RB looms over the wooden girl. Her mouth is wide in a saccharine, hysterical smile, filled with sharp fangs and teeth. Her claws tearing right through the fabric of Cedar's dress and digging into the wood of her shoulders, leaving indents.
Look at me, Cedar. Look at me, and try to tell me you don't remember.
The silence is disturbed as Cedar lifts her head, just a fraction to meet RB's eyes.
Finally, the puppet girl speaks. Please, stop, she pleads, her voice just above a whisper, you're scaring me.
RB stops. She stares for a moment. Something flickers behind that veil of loathing and rage in her eyes. She releases Cedar, takes a few steps back, and darts out of the room.

The Rose-Beauty Twins
There is no such thing as bad genes in the Rose-Beauty family. Both Briar and Rosabella can say with confidence ‘my mom’s cooler than yours’.
Damascena and Delilah Rose-Beauty are twin sisters with opposite personalities, both attending Ever After the generation before the show takes place. One can definitely fix him, while the other just got kicked out of the library 🤭 if you manage to catch the eye of either of these feisty ladies, it should be an immediate A+ in Advanced Wooing as that’s not an easy feat.
If you’re looking for a good time (or to get stoned behind the school), Damascena Rose is your best bet. She’s easy to find as she carries a boombox around wherever she goes, both to hype up whoever, whenever, but also to help keep herself awake. She is the party animal of her class; it’s no question where Briar gets it from. Damascena is a known flirt and likes to play around whenever possible, but it’s all in fun. After all, her true love isn’t coming for another century…right? (Not true, she falls head over heels for star dragon-slayer Valor Prince Charming, but that’s an entirely different story). Much to everyone’s surprise, Damascena actually wants to settle down and raise a large family, but she needs someone with enough spunk to keep up with her active lifestyle.
If you’re looking for someone a bit more studious, Delilah Rose is a hexcellent choice of companion. She’s intelligent, well-read, and a defender of justice wherever she goes. You can usually find her in the library, or spitting fire across the table in debate. Where Delilah is less likely to jump into a relationship than her twin, she has a very…bad…taste in men, something she and her daughter Rosabella share. She likes the bad-boys and the rebels; those guys who are ‘no good’ for anyone else. But, like her sister, Delilah isn’t looking for serious love either. She’s more likely to sit you down to address your past trauma or poor grades than for an actual date. (Delilah finds love too with Valor’s estranged beast of a brother, Warren, making Briar and Rosabella double-cousins). Delilah is opposite her sister in the family department; she worries about not being a good mother, and prefers the company of books rather than people.
Random Headcanons and Facts:
- Damascena and Faelyn Thorn (Faybelle’s mom) are incredibly close friends.
- Delilah is two minutes older than her twin, making her the ‘big’ sister. This is why she has the favored of their two destinies.
- Delilah is on the debate team, while Damascena helps run Ever After’s radio station and newspaper. (Damascena also does music for school events like dances and mixers)
- Absolutely no one expected Damascena and Valor to hook up. Many thought Valor was actually Snow White’s destined true love.
- Delilah and Damascena are roommates (not by choice) and they hate every second of it despite living in the same room at home.
- Damascena and her mom don’t get along due to differences regarding the outcome of the Sleeping Beauty legacy. She’s not close with her dad either for the same reason.
- Contrary-wise, Delilah is very close to her mom and dad and is the ‘favorite child’, as she’s looking forward to her story playing out.

talking about rosabella earlier made me want to draw her so here's a quick redesign + beast form concept.
i like her color scheme, but i feel like her outfit gets kinda lost in a sea of dresses with similar silhouettes. so i swapped it out for a cropped jacket, a frilly top, and some embroidered jeans! i also find headcanons where rosabella can also turn into a beast herself super interesting so i tried designing her beast form, too. i took inspiration from how some beast designs take different elements from multiple animals.
my headcanon is that, due to a side effect of her father's curse and her connection to the spring rose, she turns to a beast on the spring equinox. typically, she returns home during that time so she doesn't scare any of her fellow students or cause any accidental property damage with how big she gets. not many other people know about her yearly transformation as a result, briar and darling being the only ones at school who are aware of it. oh, her beast form is also taller than daring's bc i thought that would be cute.

You know, it always puzzled me a little when people talked about the Beauty and the Beast story... And everyone pointed out that the prince is turned into a Beast because he is vain and selfish. Which, I never understood because I didn't remember that. (What's more, I NEVER saw the entire Beauty and the Beast movie. Don't ask "why" because I don't know.) Now, after years, I realized why.
The story I grew up with didn't say that. This version of the fairy tale was different and had the witch as a capricious woman.
The prince in this version let the witch into his castle to take refuge from the cold. When the blizzard ends and the witch retreats. But not before giving the prince a gift for his hospitality. Which was a very beautiful rose. He refuses her gesture of gratitude and she becomes angry. He gets so angry that he curses him, turning him into a beast. Destroyed by this, the prince locks himself in his castle. Becoming a hermit, bitter and resentful. He becomes like this because he is bitter that they turned him into a monster just for doing a selfless action. What Bella does in this version is help him open his heart again and it is this warmth that helps break the spell.
I mean... In this version, which was in the teacher's book that my grandmother had, the only bad one was the witch. And I grew up with this moral of life of "You must be careful who you are kind to because not everyone will return your kindness." So I don't know how to feel 😂

I just want to go on one of my silly little rants and say that that one French beauty and the beast movie is gorgeous??? like?? the costumes and sets are everything dude!
(I know they're grainy but LOOK!!!)
so my personal thing now is that in ever after high Rosabella HAS to have some fun whimsical dresses as wonderful and lovely as these ones because as someone who loves costuming (and as the daughter of a mom who adores costuming) this is SO FREAKING FUN!

Rosabella Beauty Headcanons
Her full name is Rosabella Elena Beauty. Her first name is a combination of her mother and maternal aunt, Sleeping Beauty.
She can turn into a beast at will but doesn’t for personal reasons. Her beast side can come out involuntarily if she’s put under extreme physical or emotional stress. She is very proud of this side of her and wishes she could let it out more.
She struggles with a lot of repressed anger and anxiety, so she channels all her energy into her work. She tries to find ways to turn her anger into something constructive, but she’s often critical of her accomplishments.
She’s aware of how annoying some people see her as. She pretends not to be affected, but it does hurt her deep down.
She suffers from insomnia.
Rosabella has never met her mother’s family outside Sleeping Beauty’s family. Her grandmother in particular is very ashamed of her beast son-in-law and half-beast granddaughter.
Both Rosabella and her dad are vegetarians, but her mother is not. The smell and taste of meat makes Rosa physically sick. But she respects others for eating meat because she knows animals eating other animals is part of nature, and she cannot deny someone’s true nature.
The Beauty-Beast family is close with the Hood-Badwolf family, knowing the struggles of being an openly human-beast family. This has made Rosa extremely protective of Cerise and Ramona.
She dated Ramona Badwolf in her first year of high school. They broke up after Ramona was sent to reform school, but they remain on good terms.
She has a preference for upperclassmen.
She prefers to be called “Rosa” by her closest friends.
Her mother calls her a hundred little nicknames like “Rosia”, “Bomboncita”, “Corazoncita”, and “Reinita”. She keeps telling her mom to tone it down, but she secretly likes it.
Rosa is terrible at cooking.

HOOO BOY DO I GOT IDEAS
In the show, Rosabella.. is, well... kinda basic. So... I can see why some people don't like her.
I was discussing some of them with @/gumjester (her rewrite is really good please add it to your reading list) so i'll reiterate them here:
"I think it'd be fascinating if a rewrite portrayed her as someone who is.. (ironically?) very untrusting and like... the opposite of Belle. I remember she has powers, at least in her diary, that allows her to see other people's auras, so perhaps that could cause her to like... constantly be calling people out, warranted or not. As a result of her behavior, she's almost like.. [gumjester's] version of Blondie, except worse in some ways?
Perhaps the relationship could work if, somehow, Rosabella helps Daring stop being so full of himself, and Daring also helps her stop being so judgmental, untrusting, and condescending?"
To revise this idea, I think it'd be really fascinating if this version of Rosabella is actually the Beast (let's call this version of her Rosabella Beast, or RB, from now on), and she was cursed at a young age, resulting in her being forced to keep her emotions in check to prevent herself from turning into her Beast Form. Shortly after this, she gains the trust of someone and reveals her secret, only to be betrayed, maybe as a result of her powers developing, or this event causes her powers to be created- this effectively results in RB losing trust in everyone.
As she gets older, she kinda leans more into her... "villain" role. She learns how to act like a Beauty from her story- sweet, compassionate, loving in the public, but judgmental, untrusting, and condescending when she's alone. Needless to say, RB has everyone wrapped around her finger by the time she's about to enter EAH.
She eventually meets Blondie, and instead of being put off by her nosiness.. she finds it endearing. They become allies of sorts, not friends, but allies nonetheless. They start up a blog where RB effectively airs out the dirty laundries of the Royals and Rebels, warranted or not. She acts as the judge, jury, and executioner, casting her judgmental upon those she deems as in need of said judgment and punishment.
Perhaps if a rewrite were to use this idea, there could be an arc where the main cast of said rewrite try to figure out who's running the blog and how to shut it down as it begins to get more dangerous.... and maybe that's when Daring comes into the picture.
The rest of my thoughts are a little too incoherent to continue, but I hope that's a good enough preview to share more in the near future!

I saw your post for the characters ethnicities and I wanted to ask why briar and Rosabella don't have at least one ethnicity that they share with since their cousins ?
This is a very good question! So they are distantly related when it comes to blood relation. Briar's mother(sleeping beauty) and Rosabella's great grandfather (beast) are brother and sister so Rosabella is 12% related, first cousins twice removed. Here is my nonsense chart if u need a visual 😭
since the beauty and the beasts in my au have issues with the sleeping beauties they are not connected with that side of their culture either. It's more of a technicality than anything else especially since that side of the family was ASLEEP for a hundred years.
