Anyways originally I was gonna do this format with pynch when I got this idea, but then I rembered this scene existed (at the end of the Raven king when the demon is unmaking Ronan and right before Gansey dies), and I was like oh. Well that’s the one then.

Anyways this song is so Gansey toward Ronan coded and I wanted everyone to feel my immense pain when listening to this song and remembering that Gansey died to save Ronan from the night wash. Plus just the fact that Gansey never gave up on him no matter how many times everyone (including Ronan himself) did.

Adam staying a good person throughout the whole series is so good don't get me wrong but it's also just a waste of potential like he could've been the most vicious and perfect antagonist and you know whom he would've had by side? Ronan—like yeah Ronan loves Gansey, Ronan would've killed for Gansey but for Adam? He would burn and destroy cities and countries and everything. Literally, everything for that boy.

i know gansey is described as having an old money southern accent and that's very Him but i also just think. that perhaps when he got back from england, say around the time he met ronan, he had a liiiittle bit of a british accent. perhaps. just on a few words every so often. and i like to think for my own personal enjoyment that it drove ronan insane 🫶

The idea that the soldier wants to be the king and the king wants to be the poet and the poet just wants to be the poet is so Adansey and Ronansey coded. All Adam wants is to be like Gansey. To have his stability, to live a comfrotable life. All Gansey wants is for Adam to love him and to be as free as Ronan. All Ronan wants is for things to stay as they are, with Adam and Gansey by his side.
