so normal about the gender fuckery of the Polish murderbot translation (lie i am on the verge of tears)

#it uses verb inflections that imply it/otherwise non-binary pronouns in first person #and it looks like in third person the translator went with #she pronouns when using security unit (bc the word unit is gendered female in polish)#and he pronouns when using Murderbot (bc the word robot is gendered male)#which... isn't ideal #but in a language this excessively gendered it was always going to be messy #and it's the first person verb endings that matter most bc you're reminded that mb's opinion on gender is No Thanks EVERY SENTENCE. !!!!!!!#the fact that the translator went with that instead of the easy route of he pronouns #(which are unfortunately kind of implied in the name Murderbot/Mordbot in polish since like i said robot/bot is gendered male)#is so so so important to me #(and ofc half the reviews for this translation include complaints about 'woke' verb endings 🙄 whatever)#.txt #books #murderbot

my one season 4 complaint is Where The Fuck Was Aneesa

#never have i ever #i really wish her and fabiola had stayed together them not working out didn't rlly serve any purpose to the plot for the new season #fabiola's new relationship was barely rlaborated upon. as expected.#and aneesa was basically written out she was barely even part of the group #plus that scene of them at the staircase talking about fab's robotics team. they still have so much chemistry and they were literally just #talking about robotics #i understand she's not a major character and she can't have a separate plotline to herself but she wasn't even involved in anyone else's #her and fabiola were cute together and she would've at least been part of the plot if they were still dating #allison was barely a character what was the point of writing some random new partner for fabiola when she already had a perfectly good #love interest #it just doesn't make sense to me. whi decided it would be a good idea for them to break up #was it just an opportunity to shove in a nonbinary character who had no personality and was just there as someone's s/o and call it #representation #cause there are Many better ways to have nonbinary rep than this #but ofc mindy kaling wouldn't give a shit about this.#n e ways for this support my nonbinary aneesa hc . it's real.#fabiola torres #aneesa qureshi #OR AT THE VERY LEAST SHE SHOULD'VE GOTTEN WITH PAXTON. Just like Star, Clover is doing the silly pose, with a little shooting star (I should have added that to Star, oh well) and their tongue out because they are just a silly little goober.

I put them all in a row so that it can be even EASIER to see them all! (I considered including nm!Clover and dt!Clover, but decided against it... for now) I hope you have enjoyed all my art, there will be more when I get ideas and make them. Also if Axis has a sort of redesign expect some of him. Shoot, now I'm thinking of more ideas for these guys. Why must they be so cool and worm their way into my brain and keep giving me ideas! Eh, they're fun to draw so I don't mind.

I love how Lake asks Mace if his prime was a jerk, or if he just is, because it forces him to reflect on his own identity in opposition to his prime, while Mace prefers to pretend he has no identity or purpose of his own. Just enacting "mirror law." But this mfer goes above and beyond in tracking down Lake, and convincing them that they aren't a person. This isn't mirror law, this is a personal issue between the two of them, which their primes are not involved in, and will never know about. Maybe Mace was once the perfect reflection, but he's his own person now, too.
