Basically, there are no progressive parties anywhere in the US or Europe. The left in many places sold out to the wealthy. Maybe it's time to set mansions into bonfires? I mean, I'm for burning their offices, first but it's becoming increasingly clear we have to unite against the wealthy.

Murder and Extremism in the United States in 2020

In 2020, domestic extremists killed at least 17 people in the United States, in 15 separate incidents. This represents a significant decrease from the 45 extremist-related murders documented in 2019 and the 54 murders of 2018; in fact, it is the lowest yearly total in ADL statistics since 2004, which saw only 14 extremist-related murders... As has been the case for most of the past 30 years, the extremist-related murders of 2020 were overwhelmingly associated with right-wing extremists. All but one of the incidents documented (including 16 of the 17 murders) were tied to right-wing extremism; over half were linked to white supremacists. The remaining death was at the hands of a left-wing extremist... The one 2020 murder not committed by a right-wing extremist was the fatal shooting of Aaron Danielson, a member of the far-right Patriot Prayer, by antifa activist Michael Reinoehl during a protest in Portland, Oregon, on August 29, 2020.  Antifa is the name used by a loose network of anti-racist activists who focus on physically confronting white supremacists and some other right-wing groups on the streets, as well as on doxing their identities online. In recent years, right-wing media have demonized antifa, exaggerating the amount of antifa-related violence and frequently labeling as “terrorists.”  However, the killing of Danielson was the first murder linked to antifa since 1993, when Eric Banks, a racist skinhead and singer in a white power band, was shot to death by John Bair, an anti-racist skinhead.

The report found that white supremacists had committed 335 domestic extremist-related murders over the past 10 years, accounting for 73% of all such murders. According to the report, 21 of the 25 murders in 2022 were linked to white supremacists, with the most victims dying in mass shootings. The report highlights a new set of beliefs arising in the ranks of some segments of the white supremacy movement, called the “accelerationist propaganda,” as contributing to some of the extreme acts of violence.

“What they argue is, and what they try to tell other white supremacists or other people is, ‘You're never gonna be able to reform society to turn it into a white supremacist society. You're never gonna be able to use the normal political and social processes to change society to the way we want it,’" Pitcavage explained. “So the only thing left to do is to actually destroy society and build a new white-supremacist-oriented society from the ashes.

“So for accelerationist white supremacists, anything that will hasten the end of society or destabilize it is actually a good thing,” he continued. “This includes mass acts of violence against innocent civilians. So they actually openly encourage those sorts of attacks and provide guidance on how to commit them.

Murders by extremists in the U.S. have also been committed by people on the political left, such as Black nationalists, anarchists and domestic Islamist extremists.

How did we get into the mess we're into today? Today's focus is on right wing extremism, how we got to the mess we are in right now with right wing extremism and the threats on democracy. It started early in the 60's but became a big focus during the Reagan era in the early 1980's. At the same time the Council For National Policy (CNP) started up. It's a who's who of elitist religious extremists, christofascists or *faux christians, whatever you want to call them, from several denominations, along with corporate big shots, bankers, politicians, judges, etc. And since the Obama was elected, but more prevalent during and since the 2016 election cycle they have melded with the alt-right and conspiracy theorist world. I had many posts regarding the CNP during the 2016 election cycle but I cannot find any of them. But I did find many other posts which I did repost prior to this post. I came across the Al Franken Podcast on TuneIn but I am sure it is on many podcast platforms. He was a former U.S. Senator representing Minnesota until he was pushed out due to a gag photo found during a time period where he did USO shows to entertain our troops abroad. He was one of the biggest obstacles to the Kentucky Senator Moscow Mitch McConnel's goal of filling the Federal bench and SCOTUS with right wing extremist judges. That's why he was targeted. Franken starts out touching on recent legislation including The Respect For Marriage Act. Then he and Nelson discuss the CNP and other afflictions of modern day democracy and the threats to it. It is well worth listening in.
