You can be from whatever media you want, be who you want and your f/o is still infatuated with you. Do they buy stuff purely because it reminds them of you? Would they make fanart of the two of you? What if you're from a music themed franchise and they've memorized all your lines in your songs, even your solo! Imagine them buying merch of you, or they make it themselves!

And then you have other parts; them wishing you were real. You've impacted their day-to-day lives so much, they don't go a day without thinking about you or looking at your source material. They go to bed hugging a pillow imagining that it's you to help them to sleep. They can't help but have this unattainable wish in the back of their mind that you were real and theirs.

What if they own a blog? They have their own self insert. Heck, self insertS. You are the person of their dreams.

Everyone knows they're your biggest fan. It's a title they wear with pride.

Reverse Selfship AU (1: Jester!)

Just wanted to put some more thought into some reverse selfship AUs (where I'm a fictional character and my f/o selfships with me) so I'm going to do a little series of reflections on what those reverse selfships would look like!

In the Reverse Critical Role 'verse, Echo is a book character who goes on an adventure to find their father: their plotline is similar to my self-insert's, and they are also a magical bard, but they travel alone instead of with the Mighty Nein. They save their father but decide to stay in the new land because they feel more at home there, and it’s a coming-of-age story. 

Jester reads the book when she’s only thirteen and she is obsessed with it. She tries to learn the flute like the character in the book, but she’s a bit too impatient and doesn’t think it sounds as nice as it did in her head, anyways. She draws Echo on all of her books and also on the wall next to her bed so that she can imagine them playing the flute when she has trouble sleeping. 

It’s a very intense obsession for a year or so, and then Jester moves on to the next book and forgets about it. 

But when she has to leave home, Jester remembers the book and the character who also left their mother to find their father, and she takes it with her: it reminds her of how much she loved the character and the story and the writing, and she imagines Echo coming with her on the trip. She doodles Echo in her notebooks again and generally gets back into the selfship!!

you feel a gentle yet hesitant tug on your clothes, only to look around and find them with an expression worthy of concern. maybe they're crying quietly, about to let it all out, looking frightened, scared. or perhaps the lack of emotions in their face is the telling sign that something is amiss.

if you two were in public, imagine taking them away from the situation to a safer place.

imagine how it'd feel to hold them, to guide them through their bad moments, to feel them melt under your embrace.

alternatively, if they aren't ok with being touched, imagine sitting beside them, talking to them through it in a voice so soothing they couldn't get elsewhere. they appreciate the space you're willing to give them.

you make them feel really loved. whatever they're going through, they always have you to count on.

Imagine your f/os finding safety with you. Being able to rely on you to listen when they feel no one else will. You never make them feel taken for granted and you've supported them no matter what. They'd trust you with their deepest secrets and their most vulnerable moments because you're not a threat with them and there's no one else they'd rather share this feeling of security with.

Soooooooo, self ship mutuals pls?

11. Does your f/o accept their love for you wholeheartedly or do they remain in denial for a while?

Context: in this AU, my self-insert's Homestuck run is the webcomic and Dirk is in a humanstuck AU selfshipping with my character!

Ha! Good question! I think that Dirk's selfship with me would be more or less just as complicated as my selfship with him. I think he would immediately feel an identification with my character, but I'm not sure he'd see that as a positive thing, initially!

I think that as the story progresses, he would feel a lot of resentment towards my character, but ultimately it would help him with some self-realization. I think that fan content and seeing the possibility of me in a less 'high stakes' setting would then raise his affection and make the selfshipping possible! But he'd still be emotionally attached to the... well, asshole that I am in the canon material.

So definitely plays the tsundere for a good long while, basically :P

Imagine laying in bed with your f/o. Whether it's morning or middle of the night, sleepiness makes them much more honest that usually.

"You know, I really love you, all of you. How you try your best everyday to reach your goal. Or how kind you are. How you get excited about your interests, I love listening to you when you're so passionate."

They laugh happily thinking about it. Damn, they really love that.

"And I love the way you smile. Or your eyes, their shape, how the light reflects in it changing its colour. Your jawline, i love it too. Same with your neck, your shoulders, arms... Just, all of you."

They are still very sleepy and probably haven't processed too well what they had just said, but that's what makes it feel so natural and assures you its true. They think the world of you.

i’ve talked abt how reverse selfship aus usually don’t work for me but it’s also , like. one of the big reasons i can’t is because i really think very few of my f/os would be selfshippers. 76 wouldn’t selfship he’d have a figure of me that he keeps in a box in his room and never looks at and when he can’t sleep he listens to soothing!dominant!deimos x listeners on youtube. like what’s not there to get.

@candyheartedchy 's post made me think about mirrored version of my ship and at first I was thinking about just swapping their personality but then I remember that there was actually a chapter in the PPG comic where everything is swapped and Utonium family is basically a tyrant and the villains are the good guys.

Like I mentioned, basically everything is reversed in this and honestly I really like their outfits??? Like the girls's alt clothes actually looks so cool I love it so much skdjdislsks but lol ignore that I want to talk about my ship.

For this AU I think both Chloe and Utoniu- excuse me, Cleo and Plutonium would be married except the thing is, Cleo is not really a human. She's basically a Frakenstein that Plutonium built because nobody wants to be with him becauae he's an awful human being lol so like the day she was activated Plutonium immediately refer to her as his wife. Despite being build by Plutonium and how she suppose to be like an ideal woman to him, she's pretty stubborn and often clashes with his commands. The times she would listen and obey him is when the action would benefit her. I would say that both of them are actually codependent and none of them could operate without each other and both of them are just so good yet so bad for each other akdjdkdoslxjdoq

As for personality, Plutonium is obviously much more direct and brash, he didn't really think through with his plan and reacts upon his emotion while Cleo is more cool and calculated and would orchestrate a plan in her head in what is going to happen and what is expected to happen. For that reason, she is mostly the one who arranges the agenda for Plutonium.

Do I think they love each other? I don't think so. Like i say, both of them are together just for each other's benefit, Cleo doesn't know emotion and Plutonium is just fucked in the head lol

Also I just find it so hilarious that the Powerpunk Girls and Plutonium's way of bonding is destroying each other like nothing says quality time with your family like trying to overthrow each other's tyranny for the week 🥰🥰🥰

This AU is so unserious I'm laughing at how ridiculous this is lmaososkslsoslsl
