Results day!!! It's finally here. I felt sick. I couldn't eat. Couldn't sleep. But we got through it with 2 A*'s and 2 A's. I really can't believe it I had convinced myself that I had failed or made some irreversible error but no! It's all fine ( ◜‿◝ )♡
So I am now officially a confirmed university student and I cannot wait to begin my studies in September (~‾▿‾)~ I mean I got into my DREAM university. How could I be happier?

I officially have my A Level results! I got an A*A*A with my A being in history and my A*s in Politics and English. I'm shocked and relieved and so excited to have gotten into my first choice uni to study Philosophy and Politics.
I hope everyone else getting results today and in the next few weeks is just as happy, but if not remember that grades aren't everything. I know it felt to me like if I didn't do well the world would end but there are so many options out there that you might not even know exist.
I can't wait to start blogging properly again in September when I start university! Thanks to everyone who has been liking my posts throughout this journey <3

I’m gutted!! I was getting A*s in all my mocks for psychology and RE over the past year and a half and today I got B in both and missed out on my first choice uni. Just goes to show that having your future rely on one exam is not the way forward. More coursework/mocks should account towards the final grade. I’m happy that I passed obviously but after everything over the past couple of years and the detrimental effect it had on my mental health I think I, and so many others across the UK deserved more than what we got - there’s no way that 60,000 people missing out on firm choices is anywhere near fair.

if we were to look at it through a racial lens, I do find it very interesting that Jupe’s wife is white. that the audience at Star Lasso are majorly white. that he’s basically robbing the Haywoods, a black family, of their horses to feed them to an alien creature for white people’s entertainment. that he was the token asian adoptee in sitcom as a child. the model minority. fitting himself back into a system that used and failed him as a child, so he can find some semblance of respect and power as an adult man, only to still be swallowed up whole.

Reconstruction ended in the US in 1877, and during that year, as well as the years immediately post civil war, there was an especially huge push for black people to find loved ones who were sold off the other states or countries during slavery, especially those who had children fathered by their masters as their masters were the ones who sold off the child/ren or had the best information on finding them. People would send letters, put ads in newspapers, even take trips themselves to go find loved ones that they had lost due to the scurge that was slavery. And I keep thinking about Louis du pointe du lac, sending all those messages to find his daughter that was sent out of state by her white father

does anyone else think a little too hard about how Kit only ever wanted to be brave and to be loved and then she ended up with a whole rag-tag family and part of not one epic story of love (romantically, with jade) but two (platonically, with elora) and get really emotional

The EBU have just released this statement, saying sadly, due to the war, Ukraine won’t be able to host Eurovision next year. They are now in talks with the BBC, as the runner-up broadcaster, to have the contest held in the UK! They say Ukraine’s win will be ‘reflected in next year’s shows’ and that that is a ‘priority in discussions with the eventual hosts’.
