What are some things you love most about phantom blood?

in the general sense? phantom blood is not 100% a well put-together part. however something about its charming air of cheesiness, the setting being quite aware of it's time period yet it ends up merging with the decade it was created in (80's) and unavoidably reeks of it, the art style being so distinct which includes the flaws it's always made fun of for (i love everything about it's clunkiness), and sooo much about the characters i couldn't begin to put into a single post. those are only a few aspects that pop into my mind, there's definitely more things about it to love that are hard putting to words atm!

it had so much potential which was looked over. there's all this behind the scenes context araki could have just shown bits of, moments that even if they had been a little more drawn out it would've helped with keeping the result from feeling like a total trainwreck with little room to breathe. it always saddened me that the lifespan was so quick feeling rushed at points.. sure it was the first part and araki was testing waters but it had always been more to me. they could have done lots with phantom blood and that's a major reason why i love thinking about it constantly, it's fun making my own version up with more depth put into it. i'm always having a blast playing with these characters that mean everything to me and expanding upon them, i'll always encourage others to do the same with their favorite things :D
