I've been hyperfixating on the musical I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!! And it made me love Speedwagon even more somehow, which I didn't know was possible.
Also?? May I just say that the whole cast is wonderful. They're so talented. AND THE STAGING OF THE MUSICAL WAS INSANE??? IT WAS SO VISUALLY STUNNING T-T
I saw you answered another anon's question about the Phantom Blood musical. My question is, if it gets released on home media, how likely is it that there's going to be an official version released with English subtitles? (If there isn't, there is of course the inevitable fan translation, but still.)
Late with this reply but Toho just announced they'll be putting out a blu-ray release of the musical, planned for this December. There will be three different versions ranging in price from 77,000 to 220,000 yen; the most expensive version will contain both cast performances (Jonathan's played by Yuya Matsushita and Shotaro Arisawa on different nights).
I don't see anything about English-language subtitles and part of me feels like it's unlikely, but with a video release now confirmed there should be fan subs.
Full info on the official website (JP), along with pre-order links with pre-purchase bonuses.
The cast photos have been so much fun. I really hope the JJBA Phantom Blood musical will have an English translation someday, and a soundtrack release. I’m eager to hear the music.
If any of y'all don't know how to buy tickets for the Phantom Blood musical, a kind person made a guide on Twitter!
I had to use a VPN tho, so be warned. I know some fans are recording the musical for posterity's sake, but PLEASE do your best to financially support it so we can hopefully get an official English translation! I know the producers have said they're hopeful for an international release.
