Since I'm out of ideas, question is, who's the mark? Well... I did have a thought on that.

I will admit I didn't get the most high end MP3 player with the most amazing sound quality, but it is decent, and more importantly I've been listening to music for an hour without ads and I can skip to my heart's content

re-watching a few of the Overhaul Arc episodes because I had a sudden hankering for Kenjiro Tsuda's voice (Overhaul) and I realized the League are like the lowest of the low on the social ladder. Both normal and criminal social ladder.
Overhaul/Yakuza weren't impressed by them (plus the yakuza apparently see themselves as better than Villains); the Meta Liberation Army is a anti-government militia cult and tried to take them out - like, these two groups looked down on them. and probably with 'good' reason too. MLA is a highly organized army who's got people on the inside of a bunch of industries; while the Yakuza are technically considered employed (irl they have offices, business cards, operate semi-open etc.) and do have traditional history on their side.
The League has absolutely none of that. They're complete weirdos. They're all NEETs - unemployed, under-educated, aimless. All of them are certifiable. Half of them are too young to have made anything of themselves, while the over-30s include one phantom thief that has no money to himself, and the other fell out of bank-robbing and needed to have a bag over his head at all times. Overhaul called (also over-30s) Muscular and Moonfish first-class assets, but the League lost them on their first go. ReDestro called them delinquent street punks.
they're the kids that even the outcast kids wouldn't let sit at their table at lunch.

lead balloon (the tumblr post that saved me)
if this comic resonated with you, it would mean the world to me if you donated to this palestinian family's escape fund.
--
no creative notes because this isn't that kind of comic.
I know I don’t owe any of you anything but I still felt compelled to write about my long term absence. And I feel far enough away from the dangerous spot I was in to be able to make this comic. I have a therapist now, and she agreed that making this could be a very cathartic gesture, and the start of properly leaving these thoughts behind me. I am still, at seemingly random times, blindsided by fleeting desires to kill myself. They’re always passing urges, but it’s disarming, and uncomfortable. I worry sometimes that my brain’s spent so long thinking only about suicide that it’s forgotten how to think about anything else. Like, now that I've opened that door for myself, I'll never be able to fully shut it again. But I’m trying my best to encourage my mind in other directions. We'll see how that goes.
I am still donating all proceeds from my store to Palestinian causes. So far, I've donated over $15K, not including donations coming from my own pocket or the fundraising streams which jointly raised around $10K. In the time since I made my initial post about where this money would be going, the focus has shifted from aid organisations to directly donating to escape funds.
If you'd like to do the same, you can look at Operation Olive Branch, which hosts hundreds of Palestinian escape funds or donate to Safebow, which has helped facilitate the safe crossing and securing of important medical procedures for over 150 at-risk palestinians since the beginning of the genocide.

The Barbie movie really said. Yes you will grow up and childhood wonder will vanish. Yes you will grow up and learn to hate yourself, your body, your awkwardness. Yes you will grow up and lose your confidence and certainty and sense of purpose. Yes you will grow up and the world will seem a bleaker, lonelier place every day, and society will seem bleaker and lonelier every day, and you won’t understand what went wrong in the span of just a few years, what took you from a happy and secure young girl to a sad, uncertain, scared grown woman.
And yet. You will learn to find beauty again. You will find joy in not having a purpose, in building a purpose for yourself. You will find beauty in connection, with the people and the world around you. You will learn to love signs of ageing as proof of a life well lived, of experience and happiness. You will take that little girl by the hand and tell her “I know, this isn’t what you thought it would be, but it’s real. Let me show you how beautiful it can be.”

we need to destroy the idea that girls should wear makeup. normalize bare faces on prom queens and flower girls and cheerleaders. no products at all instead of '7 product simple makeup routine.' no more 10 step skincare and regular facials and dermablading and gua sha just to be comfortable with yr natural face. i want to see eye bags on the funny librarian and acne on the swim coach and wrinkles on all our adult role models. i want to see a 16 year old girl that has never tried putting on eyeshadow. i want to see a 7 year old girl who doesn't have to go out and buy powder for her dance recital. i want to see trans women and girls everywhere to never have to wear makeup, regardless of how well they 'pass.' no more 'contouring to look masc' either. a post-beauty industry world is possible
reblogs are on but if you bring up the stage makeup point that i have addressed three times yr blocked on sight ☹️

how do you just exist without feeling like you're at the bottom I am shocked by you
to be honest, I'm very positive and cheery online, but I'm actually really depressed in real life. I have happy moments and bad moments, and when I'm feeling happy that's when I post things, or at least that's what I try to do. I've seen some terrible things in my life and know that awful things are happening all over the world, and that often makes me feel hopeless. I don't know what else I can do, so I try to document when I feel joy by making posts here. this style of content really helped me when I was at my lowest points, so I want to make as much of it as possible

forever obsessed with dynamics between vampires, specifically that of a maker and fledgling, as a way to explore abuse. the creation of a vampire itself can so easily be a literalization of the lasting impacts of trauma and also much more simply the ways a perpetrator might shape their victim’s very identity. the extremes of isolation in the way that the new vampire, in most narratives, must cut all ties to their mortal life, or else go through an elaborate charade to maintain the facade of humanity, while forever still being removed from it. and the sheer dependence and vulnerability of being in an entirely new state of being, wholly uncertain of what it entails, and relying on another person to define… everything.

thinking about how Johnny and Alex met at a shitty night job and decided a few years later to write an audio drama that literally changed the lives of thousands of people. how Harlan was literally unemployed when he decided to start making malevolent, and now he's singlehandedly revolutionizing the audio drama landscape. or Zach Valenti and Gabriel Urbina being long-time college friends who wanted to make something fun with no expectation that over 20 million people would listen to it....not being hyperbolic at all when I say that some of the best pieces of audio fiction have been made in basements by teams of less than 3 people. wtnv has always been a few friends who wanted to make something interesting after their day job. i am just thinking of artists persevering under the crushing weight of capitalism. .. and great art made out of pure love and curiosity for an emerging medium...
