Random AU/crossover thought for Stony that will not leave my brain:

Anyone remember the movie Repo Men from 2010? Brief summary of the world if you haven't seen it: takes place in a mildly dystopian world where people can get artificial organs to keep them alive, but they are insanly expensive, and kind of part of a classist system, and if you default on payment people come and repo them (ie rip them out or your body). You see where I'm going with this?

Think Tony head of SI has an accident and ends up with an artificial heart. Post injury, he becomes depressed and turns to alcohol. Owning SI Tony knows the inside workings of the artificial organ industry, knows about the loopholes of how the organ industry works, and even being rich is no garuntie his heart is actually his. He spirals and ends up losing control of the company. In his fall from the high life, Tony struggles with sobriety and making payments on his heart.

He ends up on the repo list.

Enter Steve, goverment regulated repo man doing his job for what the government calls "the greater good". Tony of course runs, and Steve of course goes after him. Tony, being the slick talker he is earns himself enough time to get Steve to listen to him and explaines how broken the construct of artificial organs is. SI was one of the main manufacturers, and Tony knows all the dirty behind the scenes parts of the industry that the government doesn't want people, like Steve, to know about.

He convinces Steve to give him a chance to prove it, and when Steve learns the real truth they team up to take down the system. (And of course, fall in love along the way.)

He's one of the newest repo men, technically still a repo assistant, but a repo man none the less.

He grew up on the island taking the piss out of everyone, and almost getting themself killed. His parents didn't want to keep having Genecops and repo men and graverobbers and stuff coming to their door to complain about their son or chasing their child to kill them or some other shit, so they kicked him out. And on his eighteenth birthday!

So he roamed the streets, and a month later, the opera happened. They saw this as a good job opportunity, and took up a super secret offer to get this job

And of course it worked!

So he's now almost a fully fledged repo man!.. with an addiction to zydrate

Yeah, he's addicted to zydrate. It deals with the stress and constant pain, either physical or mental strain of the job. When you can't feel nothing at all and in euphoria? It's wonderful to him!

So Symbols would go to Graverobber after some point, even though he loathed Graverobber to the point of wanting to kill him! But he had to because Symbols had already either killed all the other graverobbers by getting them himself, caught be genecops, or made them mad that they wouldn't accept any business from him. Plus Geneco zydrate was too expensive for him and he was already in enough debt for being a repo man and under the Largo's thumb.

So after a bit of getting a hit of zydrate from Graverobber n shit, they developed a sort of love hate relationship, but Graverobber kind of accepted it and let it go on because it was "Better than Amber and he actually pays me."

I wouldn't recommend this movie to my friends. I wouldn't rewatch this movie.

For sure the most fun movie in the Repo series. The showdown with the hacksaw scene was fun.

The typewriter kill was crazy. The throat gunshot kill was crazy. Trying to scan inside Remy's body is the craziest thing. Frank's death, wow.

Little Asian girl better get into med school.

This is a bitch ending.

Movie or Musical: Repo The Genetic Opera vs Repo Men!

I thought about a movie, that is also a musical movie, recently in one of my recent game posts. It made me ask the question, who did it better? The movie or the musical. Bring on the opera!

So what is the story? In my high school years, I was told by one of my friends about a cool “futuristic” movie where organs are repossessed. I was like hell yeah, so I took my little sister and walked with her to FYE: For Your Entertainment, and if you can find any of their stores still around-go to them. They are like Tower Records good. Anyways. I asked for the Repo movie and got Repo The Genetic Opera! I watched it, loved it, and told my friend about it the next week-he told me I watched the wrong film. I ended up watching both after. Its a kind of funny story.

Repo The Genetic Opera (2008)

This is an amazing musical, fantastic movie experience, and the singing is amazing. This movie is creepy, gory, and a mix of comic book and film. In a world where organs are financed you see the leader of the company, the repo man, and the world it creates for those around them. It seeds itself into the culture, and nothing is untouched-not even the entertainment. This is a dark, adult film, I would not advise this for kids. This is based on the musical done in 2002.

Repo Men (2010)

This is a very solid movie. For the base concept of a future world where organs are financed, you see the side of the business and the side of the victim, I mean the person who can’t afford the bill. Very interesting way to tell a full story. This is based on a book, I found in research, written in 2009. Great movie if you like sci-fi, action, and scary futuristic movies!

Something interesting to note is that I would of thought pre-research that the movie would of come off the musical. The musical is based on a comic book, and the movie is based on a book. It just a strange coincidence they came out so close in time and are so similar in setting. Also, neither film has a positive view of the “future” which is way closer to “now”. To a certain degree this is imaginative storytelling, but there is also some bias to be seen in that.

So who does it better? The Musical or Movie? Inquiring minds want to know!

I would never suggest watching something that I haven’t loved for a ton of different reasons. Not that I personally can come up with a better title, I think this one (Repo Men) evokes thoughts of an 80’s cult classic. Nonetheless, these repo-men are in the future and they don’t repossess cars, they repossess body parts that can’t be paid for. This was a super gory good time. It reminded me of when I saw Event Horizon in theaters and expected nothing, but left with an erection that lasted a week.

(2010) I give Repo Men a solid B. Definitely a ‘cut above’ the rest. HawHawHaw..
