So much to unpack in this series. I think I found my fav style of writing and it's definitely Simon's (Director) & his writers'.
Apart from contrasts, the show managed to discuss sensitive topics & I'm in love with it.
The show also emphasizes the concept of duality. You'd go from "Watch your language" to "Fuck that shit up" LOL Plus the show's humor is so dry I can't believe it's THAT charming lmfao.
Oh well yeah, of course, there's a healthy relationship in this show as well (#Avatrice) I was worried but their connection was surprisingly slow & steady. WenClair fans are waiting while Ava and Beatrice exist, and are canon & wholesome - give them a chance!
To say that Wednesday is the best series of the year with the amount of queerbait it had in the promotion, while there is Warrior Nun with a whole awesome production and a canon protagonist sapphic couple in a wonderful slow burn......
At least questionable.
And to see a queer person says that is truly disappointing.
Waking up to the news of warrior nun being cancelled was not something i expected...
Actually crying so this is a great start to the day already.
Hoping it can be saved cuz fuck you netflix. Back to pirating i go cuz like hell im using your dumb ass subscription again, cuz its fucking obvious they made the decision of not renewing it before second season even came out. istg this is my last straw with em.
Simon better be looking into the possibility of warrior nun being picked up by another network...
Can someone pls gif the scene where Ava is telling the sisters their first plan and is giving heart eyes to Bea and Bea suddenly snapping her head away when she realizes she’s supposed to be the next one talking. Like these two idiots are just smiling at each other for a good 3 secs and Bea just gay panics a bit. She turned her head away way too fast. That’ll be nice.
The thing that’s most frustrating about the warrior nun cancellation — you know, besides being such a massive kick to the gut for wlw content for losing something that actually served us a near impossible combination of exciting plot + compelling characters + solid writing + one of the best slow burn romantic arcs I’ve seen + a headlining wlw relationship + an all around great found family story — is that if you asked me, a final 8-10 ep season would have been the perfect way to tie this series up in a nice lil gift box we’d cherish forever.
Would I have watched 5739 seasons of wn if they produced it? Fuck yes. Does it need 5737 more? Not *really*. Season 2 ended at what felt like the end of the story’s second act, a perfect setup for a third and final season. Kinda feels like the ground was ripped out from under us when we were 10 feet from the finish line, but what do I know
After Lilith teleported away and Beatrice was left all alone, heartbroken and bone tired, she glanced at the opposite wall and looked away again after a few moments as if she couldn't bear the sight for another second.
Remember what's on that wall? A cross.
What if this was when she lost her faith in God completely? We see signs long before this. Now, Ava is gone. Beatrice has failed to protect the Warrior Nun and The Halo yet again, the mission she has committed to for so long. Lilith, the sister she once had, abandoned her once more. Also, how can she face Jillian, who lost her son for the second time? How can the OCS function without The Halo and a Warrior Nun?
Ava is gone, and Beatrice's world and faith in God are shattered.
If there is one thing I can’t stand about Avatrice stans it’s when they ignore Ava’s bisexuality. The amount of edits I have seen with the caption calling them both lesbians is SO annoying. Yes, lesbian rep is next to nothing and what little we have is usually trash but that doesn’t give anyone the permission to disregard a character bisexuality when the SAME thing is happening to bisexual characters. I’m tired of it always being one or the other. We finally have good lesbian/bisexual rep in Avatrice, and people are so intent on making them what they aren’t.
Ava is bi. Beatrice is lesbian. It’s that simple people
Before Reya backed, tears wet her face. She cried, why? Cause the self-sacrifice? She kept the portal opened until Ava passed through it, so she was waiting for Ava? Reya wants to train Ava for the holy war, not just cured her? Just a theory…
