I started binding in 2017/2018, this year I wanted to resume streaming and so I bought some equipment.

J’ai commencé à faire de la reliure en 2017/2018, cette année j’ai voulu reprendre en live et j’ai donc racheté du matériel.

Este es uno de tantos dichos populares de la lengua española. Se refiere a las personas que profesan un oficio con destreza y maestría entre clientes. Sin embargo en el seno del hogar no realizan su profesión, teniendo que emplear o reparar sus propios enseres con otros medios.

Exactamente ese fue mi caso. Tengo gran experiencia en encuadernación y conservación de ejemplares bibliográficos. Necesitaba una biblia para un curso de mi parroquia y cuál fue la sorpresa, en casa poseo un ejemplar editado hace más de cincuenta años, en mal estado, deshojado; las cubiertas y el lomo rotos. Siempre me había percatado de ese detalle y nunca hice nada por componerlo. Buscando en mi ciudad una biblia nueva, no encontré una a mi gusto y a buen precio. Me vi en la necesidad de usar la vieja biblia.

El domingo en la tarde me puse a analizar la mejor y óptima manera de volver a la vida la biblia y usarla el siguiente martes. El resultado fue satisfactorio: reutilicé la portada para crear unas tapas “Bradel”; retiré el pegamento del lomo, integré las hojas sueltas; añadí hojas de cortesía y guardas decorativas. Una nueva tarlatana cubre el lomo con cabezales y cintas para separar las hojas. Dejé secar prensándola desde la tarde del lunes.

A pesar de ser una necesidad, eliminé de mi persona esa culpa, descuido o como se tenga a bien llamar, al arreglar y volver a su esplendor original, siendo respetuoso, interviniendo con mi toque y materiales contemporáneos reversibles, dejando de manifiesto el gusto por el oficio y tomando decisiones para volverla a usar y conservarla para el futuro.
