I was meaning to ask, is there a bit of backstory to Rory’s plush rabbit (Jules if I’m right?) That goes beyond „He just imprinted on this toy when he was very little and that’s it?“ sentimental gift? Dedicated „Monster under the bed repellant“ his mom gave him one night? Does he just have a fondness for rabbits that he can’t quite explain? It’s just real cute that the grumpy kid is the one that actually has something like a comfort plush and I want to know more

His name is Vernes, you were close. I really love the trope of the grumpy kid has a soft for cute & kiddish things (his rabbit plush, but he also loves candies, and painting little faces on his bombs for instance)

There is indeed a backstory! This happened when Rory was ~ 5-6 years old.

More than his comfort plush, Vernes is really like a friend for Rory. He talks to him all day, and I have the idea he kinda treats him like his assistant in his workshop.
