For the past several months, there's only been a very slow trickle of posts/fics in the xmcu cherik tag. Let's try to breathe some life back into this incredible pairing!
With one clear winner of my poll, here's thirty prompts for the thirty days of April. (This is a super chill, laid-back event---do these in any order, interpret them as loosely as you like! Create in any medium! Fic, art, gifs, meta, incoherent screaming about the otp…all winners in my book.)

for a spoiler — pre-situationship lucemond and jace once took (read: were sent by their moms on) a road-trip to pick aegon up from rehab. aegon, not wanting to go back to king's landing, gave them the address of one in dorne that'd been closed for a decade. luke has so many photos of jace kneeling in the desert from when they found out, in dorne 💀 (aegon was in the riverlands)
(footage from luke's phone, circa 5 years before the events of lsts: a shaky zoom in of jace, many yards away, staring off into the distant dunes with a defeated stance. aemond's voice, flat: "this is fucked up." camera pans to him, looking disgruntled and ridiculous in sunglasses, zinc, and a protective hat)
ngl daemon's real-time reaction to the pregnancy news fell a bit out of the story's scope while i was writing lmao 😭 i promise him being more relegated to the background has a purpose! for those curious, daemon probably would've condescendingly chuckled at them if he was there 💀
alyssa still dies when daemon is fairly young because i think something like losing a parent significantly alters a character and how i portray them, and the age it happens matters too, so i tried to keep certain deaths in line with canon! for the same reason laena still dies when rhaena and baela are about 6 (and daemon only waits 6 months to marry rhaenyra, which is still outrageous by modern westerosi standards 🫠). same with the velaryon boys and harwin dying around the same time as them "losing" laenor — though that'll be explored more later :)

Business Vampire, aka Max, aka Maximilian (yes it's his real name, no you can't call him that) is a recently-promoted Regional Manager of a temp agency that hires out vampire office clerks. They're diligent! They're effective! They'll work third shift! Hire a vampire today!! He's also...just kind of a bastard. Himbo-adjacent, but he's not always particularly nice, and not actually stupid--just willing to be ignorant about things that don't directly benefit him. He was way into his MBA program before he realized they weren't actually joking about the whole ~undead~ thing; and when he did, he figured he wasn't really doing anything with his immortal soul anyway 🤷🏽 Might as well cash it in now, right? He's Bad Bi Rep(tm) and was a prolific serial dater when he was alive--not a cheater, just addicted to "the chase", always loved a tough sell. Now that he's got supernatural mind control powers though, convincing someone to give him a chance when they initially don't like him comes way too easily and it completely killed the vibe; he's not actually a piece of shit, he just dresses like one. If he ever went to therapy he'd actually have to think about why, exactly, it's so important to him to pursue the kinds of people who are immediately repulsed by the persona he embodies, in the hopes that they'll dig a little deeper and find something worthwhile in him instead. He absolutely does not go to therapy.
Juniper, for better or worse, is exactly the kind of person to find him repulsive, and she's immune to his magical vampire compulsion trick, too. To call her a demon or his girlfriend are both a little misleading--she's only part-infernal, on her father's side, and she doesn't even like Max. She...is sleeping with him, though. Occasionally. And then a bit more often than occasionally. And then...a bit more often than that. But nope, no way, definitely not into Max. He's arrogant, annoying, and...absurdly attractive 😔 She's pathologically self-conscious about the whole infernal monster thing; she makes humans uneasy, in an instinctive, subconscious, fight-flight-or-freeze prey drive kind of a way, so she gears her whole life around keeping to herself and going unnoticed and trying her best to never make anyone afraid of her. But Max...isn't remotely afraid of her. And it's...nice, to finally have found someone who isn't. And he very much should be--the infernal magic in her blood is quite literally toxic to vampires, and drinking too much of it will quite literally kill him, this time for good. But...drinking just a little has a narcotic effect, and she's human enough that it satisfies his hunger for a while, and she agrees to fuck him, too? He's certain he's getting the better end of this deal, but he's sure not about to risk it by pointing that out.
ANYWAY, yeesh, that's way too much preamble before actually getting to your questions, sorry 😅 I just really love these two. But yes, goodness, prompts!! Gonna stick these under a cut because clearly I'm incapable of keeping concise! Family: Like I said, Juniper is infernal on her dad's side; he's never been around much, but he's very sweet with her when he is and she's really fond of him in return. His dad was a genuine infernal creature, chaos and corruption and decay made flesh, so he's even less human than June is, and as such simply doesn't have much understanding of the sorts of things that strain human relationships, like distance and time and lack of communication (which is why June's mom broke things off with him shortly after June's birth). June is his only child, and she's way more sympathetic towards him and his less-than-stellar parenting skills than anyone else in her family--her mom, stepdad, and two half-sisters all just try to pretend that he doesn't exist and even if he did exist then there totally definitely wasn't anything weird or unusual about him at all. June moved across the country as soon as she was old enough to get away, and she gets the sense they're all trying to pretend the same things about her, too. It hurts her feelings way more than she lets on, but helps solidify her decision to keep everyone ever at a distance (until Max comes barreling through all her carefully crafted defenses).
Max is somehow even less close with his family. He talks to his mom on the phone for birthdays and big holidays, but hasn't seen her or spoken to his father in years. Vampire powers or no, he'd probably kill the man on sight, given half the chance. His dad was an army engineer once upon a time, and then a traditional engineer when that was over, so there really was never much chance of any amount of emotional availability over there yet even so he was a real piece of work. Max was an only child, and his mom always tried to comfort him after his dad's verbal and emotional abuse but was never able or willing (he doesn't know which, and decided ages ago that he doesn't actually care) to prevent or intervene in the abuse when it happened. Again, a tiny amount of therapy might help him realize that his whole prideful, unserious, charming lothario persona was initially just a front he put on to piss off his shitty dad. But why would he do any self-reflection when he's got this hot, mean demon babe with her own luggage rack of family baggage to bang about it, instead?
Future: This is such a good prompt but unfortunately not one I can answer very thoroughly without spoiling my own (still very roughly drafted) plot. BUT I can say that there's a vampire named Leon that they're both interested in seeing, Max for the first time ever, June for the first time in several years. Leon's the leader of a very powerful vampire sect, and possibly the oldest living one in North America, and he's...sort of missing? Maybe? No one's seen him in a couple years now, though he's definitely not dead because the vampires he sired (and the ones they'd sired, and on down quite a few degrees of separation) would have felt a weakening of their own power if he'd died. And it isn't super unusual for him to just kind of wander off and disappear for a while; much like June's dad, he's so old that he doesn't have much sense of insignificant things like the passage of time. But it's odd for him to have been gone for this long without anyone having seen nor heard from him. June isn't terribly worried for him--he's a big vampire, he can take care of himself--but they're friends (insofar as either of them really have "friends"), and she'd like to know for certain that he's alright. Max, meanwhile, thinks it'd be good for business to get in with the "trads", and knowing and/or collaborating with a guy like Leon would definitely give him a leg up on his way to the c-suite. June figures that's as close to a genuine motivation as she'll see from her annoying vampire fuckboi, but, hey, fuck it, she'll take what she can get.

another non-sensical stream of thoughts
oh helloooooooooo. it seems i haven't posted a text post on here in a little bit. well i have some thoughts in my head so i'm just gonna let my mind run wild.
uhh some cool things that are happening would be that i got a new computer the other day! its a new MacBook Pro, so it basically destroyed my bank account but its okay. i'm gonna create so many new graphics and also the music i've mentioned before. i'm gonna really get into it now that i have a more capable machine. it makes me so happy 🥲 also my friend and i are taking a trip to New York soon! i desperately need a break from the mundanity of my life right now, i think it will be good to be somewhere else and just mind my business and have fun! kind of reset myself and then hopefully when i get back i'll be creatively fueled and motivated to make some positive changes in my life. i want it for myself so badly and i deserve it dammit!! i'm a hottie and i need to get it together so i can achieve ultimate hotness.
speaking of hotness, i see some fuckin BABES on here!! not like the porn images or model shots that i reblog lol but like real people on Tumblr that are cuties 🥰 i want to be that. i wanna be a cute gay on Tumblr. i kind of love that if i post something here it will get maybe 2 notes and its just me vibing. and all the other cute lil gay men vibing. much nicer than Instagram imo and better than Twitter cuz there's none of the ugly news. its like just for me and the other gays. i like that.
i've been talking to this guy on Grindr a little bit here and there, he's cute, definitely my type, and a little bit older which i honestly really like! not like OLD just a couple of years older than me. i prefer that i think. anyways he hasn't hit me up in a day or two and that bums me out, i hope i haven't screwed the pooch, i just hate texting and would rather meet in person and talk then. it does seem like it could be more than just a hookup if we both want that, but i guess we'll see. hopefully my next post will be me talking about what a nice time i had with him (or someone anyways LOL).
i yearn for things like walking around with a honey, hand-in-hand! we just got dinner and are full and laughing and talking as we walk down the street, perhaps looking for our next destination, for a delicious drink. maybe play some pool (i win) or maybe the arcade bar or dancing if they're playing a good set. then at the end of the night when we're all boozy, we go back to my place, snuggle with a movie, maybe have a snack, or just chill out! maybe make out or you know... something ELSE 👀 then fall asleep together. ahh so beautiful and gay. can't wait for that. i love being perceived as a gay. okay bye bye gotta go read yaoi.

A note for my followers
I'm sure by now you've already seen the posts going around about Tumblr's latest content restrictions concerning how posts are tagged. There is a lot of information to sift through so I just wanted to make a short post to ensure a few key notes were highlighted for my followers:
These changes are only affecting the iOS app. Apple device users who'd like to access the site as normal can still log in to Tumblr via mobile browser for an uninterrupted experience. Desktop users and Android app users are unaffected at this time.
These guidelines are coming from Apple, not Tumblr. Your complaints and anger should be directed at them. This is what is currently required to keep Tumblr available in the iOS App Store. No, Tumblr is not entirely blameless in this situation but holding their feet to the fire will not change anything.
Other sites have found ways to work around Apple's demands and Tumblr claims they are working on a way to as well. This post promises "meaningful developments" are underway to address the issues concerning the availability of "sensitive content" and that in the "near future" they hope to introduce "additional features" for iOS users to better control their experience.
More specific information about what has been affected and what you can do to regulate your experience can be found in these helpful posts.
What does this mean for this blog specifically? I'm not quite sure tbh. I'm an Android user so I don't have a way to see firsthand how much of my content is affected but seeing as the list of restricted terms ranges from the thirsty to the organizational (two of my favorite things 🥲), I'm guessing it's a lot of it. 😂
I want to try and avoid my update content being blocked so my tag for original posts will be switching from "my post" (yes, that's on the list for some reason) to "kh4f post" - but even then, it's not a guarantee that any commentary tags I add won't cause the post to be filtered. As I understand it, use of restricted tags (either by OP or in a reblog) prevents posts from showing up on dash but they may still be accessible by visiting blogs directly or via a post notification. (And again, as previously mentioned, this is only on the iOS app.) So if it seems like I've disappeared or you're missing out on content from me, I suggest you try checking my blog via one of these other avenues (or stop using the iOS app entirely - the browser experience is surprisingly functional!)
If you're a regular here, you know tagging has been a big part of my experience from the beginning so it's a shame that it specifically may cause my content to become inaccessible to a large portion of the userbase. There doesn't appear to be any hard rules as to which terms used just as a tag by themselves cause a post to go missing and which terms used at all within a tag cause it to be filtered - so while I can try to adapt my sensibility for the sake of these guidelines (cursing less, thirsting less specifically), it's nearly impossible to predict what content will be affected and how, especially since I won't be able to see it firsthand for myself.
This site and this blog have meant more to me than I could ever say and I hope you'll find a way to stick with me through these unfortunate circumstances so we can enjoy this new era we've been looking forward to together but if this is the final straw for you and this site, I don't blame you and it's been an absolute pleasure having you here. 💙

4. What’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral?
Not technically a word, but there's this phrase I hate and it's "chewed on the bottom lip". It's just the mental image and the way it's usually put forward in stories that makes me go c r i n g e. Maybe in the right context one day, I'd like it. But until yet— 🥲😩
5. Do you have any writing superstitions? What are they and why are they 100% true?
Not really no. One thing I do find true for me though is, that I can get more emotional/raw emotions out while using pen and paper than typing it out. And docs always work better for correcting/adding on.
10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?
I don't know if you'd call this "haunted" but the very first piece I wrote, it was the most ansty, emotional story. And no matter how I hate the timeline and the feelings I brought into it now, the simple fact is that if I read it again, I'd feel the writing in my bones still. Because at that point of time I loved that character and the story overwhelmingly much and it came out exactly what it was supposed to be, a teenage fanfiction.
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?
Okay so that's one long question 😅 I started writing after class 12th, when I'd read thousands of fanfiction on Tumblr and AO3 and at one point, Wattpad as well. I wanted to read this exact story I had in my mind and in order to that, I realised I should be the one to write it. That's how I began writing. Cliched, isn't it?
I think there were several bumps along the way if I'm honest— there were serious writer's blocks and then there were times that the interaction was so low that I wasn't so sure if I wanted to put in that effort anymore. It took me a long time to set in a rhythm with post formats and times and how to not care about the amount of notes on my story after posting it. Don't get me wrong, it still hurts to see the likes/reblogs ratio on the story/blurb I decided to share but, eh!
Well, now I'm at this point where I have graduated from writing fanfiction and have been working on all sorts of works— poetry, prose, 3AM thoughts... I don't think I know where I'm going, because I know one form of writing is not better or worse than the other. And honestly— sometimes I feel fanfiction requires far more effort to come out as beautiful as it does. So a shoutout to ALL fanfiction writers out there, you're doing a fantastic job💐
21. Could you ever quit writing? Do you ever wish you could? Why or why not?
I don't think so, no. Now that I have started I donot see an end here and honestly, I don't even want it. If even one person out there, relates to my stories, poems and other things I think I have accomplished all I can as a writer. And it's totally selfish, I assure you. It's something that tells me I'm not alone.
