When I say “take as long as you need to reply!“ i mean it! There’s never any pressure here to write when you aren’t feeling it. I’m not sitting at my computer judging you or thinking badly of you if you haven’t replied, yet. I understand irl stuff comes first. I understand people are dealing with a lot right now. I understand that life tends to sap energy and inspiration. It’s okay.

So, if you’re writing with me, here’s a genuine reminder that you can always take your time. You can always drop things, and slide into my im’s to let me know you don’t have the energy/time/muse for things. I’ll never take it personally. I understand. You and your health and well-being come first, always. This is a no pressure rp zone.

Happy new year!

I held up my end of the bargain and tried abstract themes this year. I still think I can do better, because they still feel surface level in terms of meaning. I also noticed that finishing my master's degree has allowed me to "wake up" and start adding more details as a whole. (By comparison, last year[link] had a lot of empty backgrounds lol).

Looking at my output this year, I feel there's a sadness deeper than previous years. Even the fluffy ship drawings feel lonely. Maybe only I can see it?

Next year I want to return to complicated backgrounds, like in 2019[link]! I also learned how to animate with clip studio, so I want to try working with that. I don't plan on moving past CoD:Z (lol), though, I've heard your recommendations to expand to other communities!

"I was thinking about something on the drive home."

"Yeah?"

Carson took in a deep breath. She lay her hand on Greta's knee, giving it a squeeze.

"Greta, I don't think you have food poisoning."

Greta let her notepad drop into her lap, looking at Carson curiously. "But…we both definitely had it. You think I have something else? Something worse?”

Carson shook her head every so slightly, trying to keep her face even. “I don’t think so.”

"Okay, then what else could it possibly…" Greta's words were stopped shot as Carson shot her a pointed look, no longer able to hide her worries.

"Oh…" Her eyes widened. "No, it can't…That's too soon…" she trailed off, and Carson could tell she was doing the same mental calculations she had done a few hours earlier. Greta quickly reached for her phone, resting on the arm of the couch, and scrolled through her calendar. After a few moments she looked up at Carson, her face suddenly pale. "I get my bloodwork done on Thursday."

Carson sucked in a shallow breath, her stomach clenching in a new way. In Excitement? Fear?

Greta shook her head, considering her calendar again and again. "With how we had to scramble to get our appointment this time and when it landed, I didn't think…" Greta's hand flew to her face, her brow creased.

"Carson…" She looked up at her, eyes glossy. "What do we do?"
