I came from Archive of Our Own, your story is great. I like Readerbot, what made you come up with the idea?

The original au was created by @bones-of-a-rabbit, but Readerbot is basically a character on their own- I actually have a playlist for them lmao- but what really got me to write it was just the implications of becoming sentient one day when you are very much not supposed to be, and the consequences of that happening.

(By the way, my new main blog is @blubbo-yubbo , so go follow that blog for unhinged twfm stuff)

@ anon who asked for the short fic:

i did get the ask and am not ignoring it, i’m actively working on it. i’d had a chunk of Sparklight story written out with that as the topic, so i figured i’d revisit that and give it a doctoring up before finishing it.

i hope you won’t mind me using my OC - Sparklight does use she/her pronouns and is not designed to be neutral like Precious Human or readerbot, she - and therefore, this story chunk - is part of my AU, which i do plan on eventually publishing on here or ao3, once it’s written. i thought it’d be okay since you didn’t say any specific type of s/o, just the topic itself. (i’m keeping this working intentionally vague so it doesn’t spoil anyone :3c apologies if that makes things...difficult)

also the fic is not going to be terribly short. it’s at...uh, over 1500 words now...? whoops.

(I drew this entirely bc I kept thinkin abt how fucking funny it is that when Moon (or Sun) kisses Readerbot it would make this CLANK noise like hitting two plastic plates against each other. Like can you imagine ur a night guard walking around doing ur job and u hear this weird repeatedly clattering noise and ur like ???? is smthn broken so u track it down and find the daycare animatronic sitting on the floor of the daycare with a staffbot and he’s holding their face and giving them a bunch of tiny bonks on the face with his face. perhaps a fire does get rid of the weeds and leaves the rest, but the trees are scarred all the same. the forest will never be the way it once was.

aka: even after the virus is gone, everyone is still left changed by it's affects. (in other words, everyone needs therapy 2k24)

Readerbot: just super traumatized. extremely. also has big big imposter syndrom. also also doesn't have any way of venting their thoughts and feelings. also also also, did i mention they are traumatized. they are sad and conflicted and lonely pls be nice them

Sun: is pissed tf off at Moon for Some Reason (that will be explained later), refuses to acknowledge his existence, doesn't want anyone interacting with him if he can help it, is basically pretending Moon doesn't exist, probably either tore down or covered any poster with Moon's face on them. just rlly petty angy boi lmao

Moon: woke up recently with no memory of the past year, maybe two. no one has told him why he's suddenly under such close watch by management, Sun is refusing to communicate for, again, seemingly no reason, the kids are all wary of him and keep calling him the 'scary one', and some random StaffBot seems to hate his guts. he's just sad and confused and lonely pls be nice him
