Anon this is one of my favourite ideas to rotate in my mind before I go to sleep, and is entirely the fault of the @cascultextraordinaire. Also sorry this took so long, I didn't forget, I just got knocked on my ass by life

For this concept I envision Cas as a somewhat niche country singer who's not particularly popular in mainstream music, but has a cult underground following who love him for his songs about nature, loving the earth, and every kind of love EXCEPT romantic. Enter Dean, a hyper-famous rock star with a reputation for breaking hearts who sings about sex, rock and roll, loving and leaving people, but never love.

Cas doesn't follow mainstream music, so he's never heard any of Dean's music, let alone seen a picture of him - so when Dean rolls through Cas' neck of the woods on tour, Cas doesn't clock that he's a famous mega-sensation. He thinks Dean is handsome, and tells him so when he bumps into him in on the outskirts of town. Dean is charmed by the hot country weirdo who doesn't seem to have a clue who he is. It's... refreshing. They end up spending all week together, Cas making space for Dean in his little life, and Dean making excuses to his entourage as to where he's going all the time. They share a kiss under the stars on Dean’s last night in town, Cas giving him a little something to remember him and the countryside by. When Dean packs up and leaves to finish the rest of his tour, Cas isn’t worried because he was just spending quality time with Dean, nothing more. But he soon finds the songs he’s usually so good at writing won’t come to him any more. He still loves the country and the sky sure, but his songs keep ending up songs about longing and missing someone, mourning what could have been.

As with a couple of the other wips, I'll say no more on this because I don't want to ruin it completely, but rest assured there's a chart-topping album, a publicity scandal, and an awkward awards ceremony involved!
