Oh I am having an EVENING. I just got back to school, spent the last 2 days amazingly productive and prepping for finals, and an hour ago I tested positive for COVID.
So then I had to email my students over the Learning Management App (which doesn't keep the formatting of the email site) that class is going be asynchronous tomorrow. At the end of the email, I tried to copy and paste my usual signature. I pasted and hit send too quickly for me to realize it did not copy.
This is an excerpt from the next chapter of the fanfic I am writing.

🌸: "This is the worst day this week. My appetite's completely fucked up."
🐉: "You even threw up your breakfast earlier. Do try to eat even an oatmeal with fruit bits."
🌸: "I don't know... I feel completely lethargic and lowkey irritable. I don't have the energy to eat. Just sitting up makes me nauseous... I just want to sleep."
🐉: "A sudden change in appetite, nausea, mood swings, tiredness... I feel like I've seen these symptoms before..."
🐉, gasping at the realization: "Could it be..!"
🌸: "Don't worry, it's just my period."
🐉: "... You're currently bleeding?"
🌸: "Yeah, so you can sleep comfortably this time too, haha."
🐉: "..."
He closes his eyes, inhales, and breathes out a heavy, audible, obviously despondent sigh.
🌸: "Why... why do you look so upset. Shouldn't you be relieved."
Another long sigh.
🐉: "My ancestors must be disappointed in me. I failed this time, yet again."
🌸: "Why."
🌸, for a moment, forgot that he's not like the other guys.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE RATING GUN!
So, when you talk to the rating gun in Herta Space Station, it rates the characters, though the rating criteria is blatantly unclear.
When rating the main Trailblazing team, MC got 84 points, Dan Heng got 88, and March 7 has a mysterious "Rating invalid" message.
What the HELL is this thing's rating criteria?? At first I thought it might be something related to story importance, but Welt is scored at an ASTONISHING 5 points.
So what is it rating? Strength? I don't think that's right either, though... attempting this with some other characters, Seele got 33, while Natasha got 32.
Of course, I can't test this with characters I don't have, so y'all will have to bear with me a little on this!
The highest score I've been able to find with my characters was Yanqing at a whopping 99 points, and Pela a close second at 93.
Herta was placed even LOWER than Welt, at a tiny 4 points...
...while Hook is one point higher than Welt, at 6 points.
The rest of the characters I had rated as such:
Seems pretty standard, kind of? But then I got to Sampo.
...what? This is the same rating as March 7--a character I can understand being unable to be rated due to her "mysterious past" or whatever you would want to call it.
See, I already suspected that Sampo would be an important character later--everything about him screams suspicious, but this is on a different level. His actions on Jarilo IV is what lead us to save the planet, after all--us finding him, him taking us to meet Gepard, him taking us AND Bronya to the Underground, letting Bronya figure out the truth so she can take action, bringing Natasha to us so we don't die, etc, etc.
Not even MENTIONING the fact that he knows about the Astral Express, meaning he's definitely at least a space traveler, just like we are. Just... what the hell is up with this guy??
...Just what exactly are you hiding, Mr. Koski?

Finished Silvio's route, solid 8/10. I mean I still have questions and things I wanted to see explored. Like more about Silvio's past and why he behaved why he did. I mean I got a glimpse of it in the dramatic route a bit. Maybe I will do the romantic route too someday. Congrats Silvio, you got into the second playthrough team. But I'm satisfied with this. So here are some sketches of the ultimate tsundere.
I really love that the guy that is all about the money and wealth has taken blue as his primary color. And it is that Lapis Lazuli kind blue = one of the most, if not, the most expensive pigment made. I'm really curious why his hair has a small tuft of dark blue color there. Has he dyed it? Is it natural?
Also more my ramblings... In the prologue, as they set the world, they talk about how this game takes place in late medieval time. (of course a fictional world, but not like fantasy, with magic and such (shame really, I would love there to be some magical elements there)). BUT the clothes... the fashion... They are very modern in many aspects. I know, i know, this is very nit picky of me. This is pretty much like Bridgeton. A period fiction. But really, they didn't need to go give us a reference to a certain time period xd They could have left it even more vague. But alas... This is not really a criticism, as I can totally see past this. I just find it funny.
BUT ONE THING THAT MADE ME PUT MY PHONE DOWN FOR A MINUTE WAS THIS:
My young horse girl self just was ready to smack Silvio off his horse. You don't use reins to encourage horse to go faster! Not even with the carriages either. But especially not when you actually ride a horse. Reins are for steering and slowing down. You use weight and your legs to apply pressure to horse's sides to encourage them to go faster. (ideally you could do this only by using weight, but that needs skill and a sensitive and well trained horse.)
Routes and ratings so far (my opinion purely, there is nothing else to it really):
1. Clavis's route, dramatic ending + epilogue. I laughed so much and the theme was very interesting. Cyran was MVP. 9/10
2. Silvio's route, dramatic ending + epilogue. He was an asshole, I wasn't disappointed. Enjoyed the ride and the political shit with usage of money. Giving me Itachi vibes with the gesture of messing your hair. Could have used more Carlo. Also where is Emidio?? 8/10
3. Licht's route, dramatic ending. He edgy but sweet. I wanted to see more of twins being twins and I got some of that. I was happy :slight_smile: And he loves horses, more points from that. 7.5/10 (the reason why I didn't do epilogue for Licht was because I didn't use walkthrough and I didn't want to start paying for those points :0
4. Nokto's route, dramatic ending + epilogue . Playboy, got what I asked for. Entertaining. Could have needed more time with Licht. I want to see brothers being brothers. 7/10
I see my style evolve and I kinda like it. Indulging my teenage aesthetic. Sometimes face shapes get all weird and I'm not sure if it is because they are weird or that I'm becoming blind to them and am just trying to find something weird.

so, allow me to respond:
hi, Julie! I'd never heard about Cariona before, so I decided to go poking around, and I learned something!
well, I learned a few things, actually. from your site, Cariona seems to be a small business that sells reusable menstrual products. and while I will never advertise a product that I haven't used, there's nothing wrong with wanting people to promote your company.
I have, however, found a few problems.
the first thing I found was this post by @crafiet from May 12th of last year, saying that shortly after making a purchase on your website, her debit card info was leaked, and used to make facebook ad purchases.
it seems that at least back then, your payment system was insecure. I'm really hoping you've fixed that, because. yikes.
and when I messaged crafiet to ask if it was okay if I linked to her post, she also mentioned that even though your website says you ship from Georgia, her package came shipped from China, and took a long time to arrive.
that's pretty sketchy.
the next thing I found was some folks talking about receiving cards with their orders that have a QR code on them with the words "Scan For God's Message To You", and that on the other side, have this bible verse:
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.

fun fact! that's from the King James Version (which I have a lot of thoughts about, but I'm not going to get into that right now).
additional fun fact! that particular psalm is from that time David fled to the wilderness because Jonathan's dad was trying to kill him.
and that's why I have to talk about the verses that follow it:

so...are we like 100% sure it's god that David is thinking about here? because...I mean...that's pretty horny, right? and all of this while on the run from his boyfriend's dad?

anyway, back to you, Cariona: after seeing people talking about the bible verse cards, I decided to poke around your website more, and allll the way at the bottom of it, finally found your "About Us" page, which ends with this:
...look. there's nothing inherently wrong with being christian. but to say "we do not wish to impose any beliefs on our customers", and to then put bible verse cards in people's orders? that's sneaky, and I don't like it.
I also think it's a bit sneaky that you've flagged your tumblr account as pro-trans on shinigami eyes. at least, I assume you flagged it yourselves, because I didn't find a single post on your blog that mentions trans issues.
(though you have, entertainingly, reblogged some stranger things fanart, and a castiel cat cosplay)
and while your website uses very gender-neutral language, your "About Us" page doesn't say anything about being inclusive of trans people, just that you don't "discriminate against anyone who has a different belief than ours."
unfortunately, that's not good enough for me. I have this sneaking suspicion that "trans people are the gender they say they are" counts as a "different belief".
lastly, since you say on your website that people can message you asking about your faith, I had a friend do that!
baptists. you're baptists, which is a pretty conservative denomination.
and according to you, part of that 10% you donate goes to your local churches, and some missionaries. who are also probably baptists.
so.
in the end, I just...don't trust you? I don't trust that the 10% you're donating is going to organizations that aren't homophobic or transphobic. I don't believe that you're not trying to impose your beliefs on others, because that's what you're obviously doing. I mean, your "About Me" says that one of the reasons you built this company is to spread the gospel.
and I especially don't like it that you reached out to me (an openly queer person) for promotion without mentioning that you're an evangelical company.
so to answer your question, Julie: no. I am not interested in doing ads or promotions for you on tumblr. and honestly, you probably picked the wrong website for this kind of thing.

I wonder if people on Tumblr and Ao3 are just allergic to tagging their stuff, particularly when it comes to graphic and smutty stuff. There's literally no downsides to tagging it. People like me get to filter them out and live the rest of our lives without whatever it is whilst the people who want it can easily search and find it. Wow, it's almost as if tags are that simple and easy to implement and exist for a reason
