"How has Layton not snapped from all the trauma" because his story is that of grief and acceptance. He's known pain and has suffered from it but after many years he learned to move on because life will continue whether he wants it to or not so he may as well make the most of it. He carries the painful memories with him but is also capable of seeing the beauty in life. He cries for his loved ones who have died but appreciates the people he has in his life now. Layton is an amazing character BECAUSE he hasn't snapped.

My favorite genre of character names is when they’re named very literally but in another language. Like Weiss Schnee and Randall Tier. Does it break immersion for the winter-themed character to be named “white snow” and for the guy who believes he’s a cave bear to have the last name “animal” ? Yes. Do I enjoy it immensely? Also yes.

Holy fuck bitb acutually rewired my fucking brain. And like spoilers, but i cannon bear the almost perfect ending and foreshadowing moments. Like your telling me, that the only guy to survive this game of chance, is the basically main character??? How the fuck does that happen by chance?

But even more than that the unintentional foreshadowing of when Roland finds rand in the bunker, and rand almost shoots him because he thinks he’s a MONSTER . And THEN after that, whenever rand runs off because he’s paranoid that Roland might be a monster ?????But then once Roland actually turns out to be a monster , Randy’s like okay I trust u??how was that not planned?

The one qualm I have about Moon Knight’s representation of DID actually comes from how it represents the trauma. Or, not the trauma itself, but rather how the trauma words in relationship to the unintegrated self—being how old Marc is at the time that the repetitive childhood trauma takes place.

I do appreciate the fact that it makes it clear that trauma is the cause of the condition, but by delaying the trauma until age 12, it’s understandable why people start to see Marc as the “original”—we seem to inherently recognize that, by such an age, a child would have largely developed much of that integrated identity. While it would make sense for a child in Marc’s situation to develop PTSD (or, as is yet to be recognized in the DSM but is largely recognized by professionals everywhere else, C-PTSD), it makes far less sense that—assuming this is the “only” trauma they experienced—they’d develop DID. 

Current research shows that DID appears to develop as a result of ongoing trauma between the ages of three and nine (nine actually starting to seem too old for some researches), largely because, even outside the discussion of DID specifically, those are the ages at which a child’s mind undergoes the most heavy integration to become a fully-fledged “identity.” Though it’s worth bearing in mind that a person with DID can develop splits later in life than those ages, this is a consequence of that predisposition toward a fractured, unintegrated state as a means of protecting the brain. For somebody who did not experience that trauma at those ages, developing DID at such a late age (“late” being used liberally as a comparison) would be extremely unlikely. Previous decades’ research did lend toward saying age 12 was the “cap” age for experiencing trauma to result in DID, but as we learn more about the brain, it appears that the cap is moving, though I will not deny the possibility that 12 is a cap given all brains are different. However, this still demonstrates that only experiencing repetitive trauma beginning at that age would not lead to DID.

So, I feel like the show made a mistake with the age and the implication of an original alter. To be frank, though, the complaints feel rather minor compared to how much the show did well.
