Miles’s Sweet 15 (Quinceanero)
I had ANOTHER daydream I swear to god that’s all I do is daydream
I don’t know much about quinceanera’s but I have been to one I just know the basics. That they celebrate on their 15th birthday to basically transitioning from a child to adulthood.

Miles cousins ruin his sweet 15 celebration.
So just image Miles celebrating his sweet 15 with his boyfriend, right. And Miles is dancing with him and once the song is over 5 of Miles’s cousins come over can throw a whole cake at Miles face and clothes and the cousins are laughing at him saying “it’s a prank” but no one is laughing but them. And Miles’s boyfriend is PISSED because like how dare they ruin his man’s special day like this so Miles’s parents check on him to see if he is okay but he’s not and starts screaming at them for an explanation as to why they thought this was okay to do they don’t say anything as to why they thought it was okay. When Miles feels like he is about to cry he runs off and his boyfriend gets into a fight with all of Miles’s cousins and knocks them out ( like put them to sleep with one punch 😈) and goes after Miles and see him crying and hyperventilating because this was supposed to be his moment to shine and it was ruined 😡 spent 4 years planning his own sweet 15 celebration just for it to be ruined.

Just noticed another piece of Rina growth:
In the past when things got complicated or bad between them Gina would actively avoid Ricky and push him away.
After Thanksgiving she ignored his texts and ducked his calls
After the Quinceanero she avoids talking to Ricky entirely
At Shallow Lake after Prom she was unable to even wish him a happy birthday and could barely talk to him during the show
But in 4x5 after their fights at Halloween Gina is trying to reach out to Ricky, to explain. She isn’t avoiding him she wants to talk to him about.

HSMTMTS thoughts before season 4 pt. 2 continued.....
Just a continuation of my thoughts on the ships after my re-watch of S1 through 3 before the final season airs. The first part of pt. 2 only touched on Rini, I wanted to fit more ships in but it would have been way to long of a post so here is the rest. Once again just a warning that I'm going to be brutally honest about the ships on the show.
Portwell (Gina and EJ):
The common question with this pairing that I see asked is, why put them together just to break them up? Well, because they were a plot device. Simple as that, you can be mad at that but the evidence and hints were there all along.
They had no romantic undertones at all until EJ all of a sudden has feelings for Gina in ep5 titled The Quinceanero in S2. Gina is upset in this episode, wants to leave again and we are shown EJ looking longing at her. Just bam out of nowhere, he's interested. Nothing from the previous 4 episodes or previous season that would explain it. Also, remember that before this EJ has a whole discussion with Ashlyn of how much older he feels compared to her and how young she seems but now he is interested in her best friend. What? Was this pairing not rushed and out of nowhere.
Let's get into some of the evidence and hints that the show gave that should have made people realize that this pairing was just a plot device. First off, one of the big ones that just slapped the viewers in the face is the flashback scene between Ricky and Gina at the end of S1. The show filmed and kept that for a reason. They inserted that to plant the seeds to the audience that they're story was not over and to be prepared for that. They put it right in the next episode after they show that EJ may be interested in Gina, almost like they were saying this pairing between Gina and EJ might be happening but remember this moment for the future. Also, just like how in order for Rini to get back together they had to remove Gina, they had to completely stop all interactions between Gina and Ricky for Portwell to happen. This tactic that shows use of removing a character and or stopping communication between the two characters so that one of them can bond with someone else is always a red flag too me. A light bulb just always goes off in my head when this happens. That just tells me that the show knows that those characters bond is so strong that in order to make a pairing with one of them with someone else believable or shine they have to remove them from interacting with each other. Like, if I am supposed to take them seriously, why do you have to remove all communication between Ricky and Gina for them to work. People always bring up the couch scene that Gina and EJ have as this big great moment, yes it was a nice scene but they always miss something that was said. EJ says something along the lines of "you know" or "you know what I mean" and Gina immediately responds with a NO. Parallel that with her discussions with Ricky and how they understand what each other mean and or say. This stuff isn't by accident, it's seeds being planted. Even the episode where Gina is in the airport and she meets Jack, it's all tied to Ricky if you re-watch the episode. Jack even mentions taking the safest seat on the plane (hint: this is EJ). We get to the finale of S2 which is a whole mess to start out with and Gina's brother Jamie mentions EJ being a big brother to her lol The show was not even taking them seriously as a pairing. Which leads to once again just like S1's finale having a hard to watch scene with the Rini confession, S2 outdoes it with the cringe. Making Gina say will you be my first kiss to EJ across a parking lot, run to each other while it's very obvious the actors were not taking it seriously, playing circus music in the background and then having no payoff in seeing the kiss. Please people, the show didn't take this relationship seriously.
We get to S3 ep1 and Gina mentions experiencing a summer of first's including a first boyfriend, funny how a big thing about Gina is not doing thing anything right the first time. That dialogue is not by accident. At the end of ep 1 we get EJ saying nothing is going to ruin his and Gina's perfect summer together but Gina say's who said anybody would and right as she say's that Ricky shows up right in the middle of them in the frame. Media literacy people, that wasn't by accident. Next, EJ mentions to Gina about being surprised by Ricky showing up at the beginning of ep 2 and Gina immediately changes the subject, go back and look at the face she makes. The show was not exactly subtle with the seeds that were being planted about where the season was going and which pairing was going to happen. To make it even clearer they have Ricky play Kristoff and Gina play Anna, with EJ stepping in at certain parts to play Hans. Kristoff literally asks Anna what Hans last name is and she doesn't know, paralleling that with Gina not knowing what EJ stands for in the same episode. Come to think of it, the show was really making it obvious to the audience what was going to happen. You literally had to close your eyes and plug your ears to not see or hear what the show was telling you.
Finally, would I have preferred that these two were never put together like many others have said if they were just going to break them up? Sure. I also think you couldn't put Gina with Ricky before having her experiencing a relationship first and learn about what she want's and needs from one before that happening. Did the show have another choice but EJ to pair with Gina for her to experience all of this, not really. I also think the show should have just kept EJ the way he was in season 1, he was fun and caused problems. Every character doesn't have to be good and nice. I hate when shows do that.
In the end, you fell for a plot device ship that had a lot of hints and slapping you over the head signs telling you that they were not going to last. Like I said on previous posts it certainly seems like most people, not all but most who shipped Portwell was because it kept Gina and Ricky apart as opposed to actually liking them. So, undercover Rini's/Jolivia's whatever you want to call them.
This turned out long again lol My apologies, I always end up just rambling on. Probably won't be able to talk about the other ships before the new season airs but will still probably post my thoughts.

Her glasses are made out of the jade from her papa's tio's vision tablets and perfectly made to fit her face and made not to annoy her.
her necklace and bracelets are made of real gold
shirt, gloves, and bed sheets are made with mulberry silk(which is the most important silk)
you know, all the best for the precious Mirabel
It's kind of ironic that Isabela is trying to be friends with Mirabel because Mira could have sworn Isabela ignored her after her ceremony. Isabela is trying to be friends with her for attention not because she feels bad or even realizes what she did.
The townspeople already know what she's trying to do and they shut that down real quick
Mirabel's birthday parties are always the talk of the town, not the other madrigal's birthdays.
Her birthdays are always the best thing happening in the village and they always come up with new things for her to do so she doesn't get bored
The town started spoiling her after her ceremony. Alma had snapped at her saying "stop pestering your familia with your childish needs" and that caused her to run and hide in an alleyway crying. A couple saw her and asked her what had happened, her little sad face made them nearly buy everything in the village for her. The other villagers noticed this and followed suit
Her kindness and generosity are what make people give her things
Just think of Charlotte from the princess and the frog mixed with her canon personality
she's sweet and spoiled
they don't pressure her into being perfect or elegant they just let her be her
which is why she's sometimes always covered in dirt. She tries her best not to get any of her dresses dirty because her seamstress mama(Aliana Vergara) works hard on them so she tries to be considerate
If she does end up making some clothes dirty she will help Aliana in her shop even though Ali insists she doesn't need to. Plus Mira will handwash the clothes herself(if Bruno doesn't step in and do it for her)
She has about 50 mamas and papas for obvious reasons. She also was gifted with lots of siblings as well. They have no issues with each other because Mirabel makes sure everybody gets attention, not just her.
she is taught morals and values like any other child should be taught
she rarely does anything bad. The only bad thing she'll ever do is still a cookie from the cookie jar when she wasn't supposed to and she'll just end up confessing anyway.

Antonio asked Mirabel if she could make him a halo and some Angel wings when he was 4 because he loved that people adored him and he wanted more adoration
Mira couldn't say no and she made him the halo and wings. And as he knew would happen people adored him more.
he's very sweet and kind like his older sister but very stubborn and well you know...spoiled
But when he receives a gift he always likes to pay it back somehow. Either he'll repay you in work or a gift. He's pretty lazy so he'll mostly do gifts
You can't refuse the gift even if you try you get hit with this
"No, you deserve this gift, you gave me one and I give you one it's fair all around and I WON'T take no for an answer," he says confidently with a handmade stuffed bunny in his hand. You can't say no
His baker mama (Esmerelda Castillo) loves giving him(and Mirabel) free food. Whenever he walks into the shop he can just go behind the glass case and grab a cookie. Let one of the older madrigals try that...
He likes baking and cooking with her and her three kids.
Like his sister, he gets hurt a lot which really stresses out some of the villagers but he always ends up ok.
He loves helping his sister with events. They will go all out for birthday parties, quinceanera's, quinceanero's, holiday parties, and weddings.
Townspeople info
overtime they realized what kind of people the madrigals are and they don't really mess with them like that anymore.
let one of the madrigals try and hurt either of their two babies/siblings physically or verbally. they're going to have a world full of physical or emotional pain and hopefully not both
Once Isabela said something mean to Mirabel and she nearly had the whole town on her ready to emotionally hurt and/or fight her.
You should have seen her face when people of all ages kept walking up to her and cussing her out or downright ignoring her.
Not even an hour after she walked out of the house she ran back home with tears streaming down her eyes.
Alma was outraged she went into the town square and ordered the people who "disrespected" Isabela to come forward and apologize. The only thing she got was -
"teach your granddaughter some manners and then we'll talk"
"Why should we apologize to a brat?"
"the only one who should do the apologizing is her"
"Mirabel didn't deserve that"
Bruno took it upon himself to tell Alma what happened
Alma proclaimed that Mirabel was only lying to get attention. Mirabel was only seven why would she lie about that? The villagers + Bruno aren't that stupid Mirabel was straight up bawling her eyes out about what she said. She could barely breathe.
Dolores didn't hear the fight because she didn't listen in on it. What she did hear was people spreading rumors about Isabela and cussing her out.
Nobody talks to Isabela anymore. Until the villagers hear Mirabel say that she apologized and she was actually sorry for it they won't even acknowledge her.
Mirabel tried to say that she apologized because she didn't want her sister in trouble but everybody can tell when she was lying.
The madrigal dinner was really quiet that night and Mirabel wanted to shrink in her seat. Her papa had to reassure her that he wouldn't let Alma say anything. If Alma was to even open her mouth to say something that seemed to come for Mirabel Bruno shot her a death glare
Julieta didn't notice because she was busy thinking about what to cook the next day and Agustin was confused about what was happening.
So yeah if I can think of any snippets I will write them. They'll mostly evolve how the villagers stopped talking to the madrigals one by one.

I know Ricky could’ve done things better in s2 BUT i think some ppl are too hard on him & forget that he was in a relationship! He couldn’t continue having that vulnerable personal bond with a girl he had feelings for! That could be considered emotional cheating! He couldn’t be there for her in the way she wanted because their relationship has never been platonic and if they continued getting closer despite him having a girlfriend they could’ve cheated! You have to keep boundaries.
Anon you are sooo right. I don't know what Ricky did to them but they act like he is such a horrible person and I really don't get why. Everything Ricky did in season 2 was understandable tbh. People act like Ricky not cheating on Nini is bad????? Like I don't get them tbh.
I personally think that Ricky's feelings for Gina developed in season 1 - and then after Gina left Ricky didn't view her as a possibility. When Ricky sees Todd during Get Your Head in the game and he says 'should I go for this' I think it is subtext for Rina (yes I know that these are the actual lyrics to song but hear me out). Tim literally rearranged the order of events in HSM so that this scene would follow his reunion with Gina. The 'should i go for it' has a double meaning of going for it with Gina, but then he sees Todd and he thinks that he shouldn't go for it as he views it as a betrayal of his relationship with Nini.
Ricky was literally just trying to make the best of his relationship with Nini because she was his safe space. He was completely going through it with his parents separating and just wanted to cling to a relationship that was familiar/comfortable. Even then, we can see in the Valentines Day ep and in the Storm that there are feelings there for Gina and if they had continued it would have definitely veered into emotional if not outright cheating (he literally looks caught out when Nini comes back in the Storm).
Even throughout 2A we see that Ricky is trying his best to be respectful of Gina and her feelings. In episode 1 we see that he is kinda more distant, but there is longing looks. In eps 3 and 4 he does not want to bring up Nini in front of Gina because he thinks it might hurt her feelings (see him insisting to Big Red that Gina doesn't need to know this). Plus in Valentine's Day we can see that while Ricky is initially surprised it was Gina at his door, he still welcomes her in and listens to her talk about her mum. They are having a great time til Nini calls tbh.
It was only after the Quinceanero that he actually asks Gina for advice about Nini. Ricky clearly thought this was ok, since she had given him advice twice already that was unsolicited. When Gina laid down her boundaries, Ricky gave her space and respected those boundaries.

Opposites attract au(movie version) - Felix's family
As we all know, Abuela Anini and Abuelo Felix the first
75 years old
Anini is the sweetest and funniest woman you could ever meet.
Her jokes can make you laugh long and hard for a long time, just ask her family.
She's the kind of woman that's easy to talk to and she's really great with advice.
Ani loves to paint and make jewelry, she's the number 1 goldsmith in her side of town. Don't be fooled by her age she can make rings, tiaras, bracelets, and crowns in one week. 2 weeks if the deadline is far away.
Her painting skills are amazing and she's willing to teach you some of her skills if asked.
She deeply despises Alma and if she ever sees her it's going to be a WWE match. She knows self-defense so Alma will be fighting for her life...literally.
Ani can also play the guitar and the harp, the only ones who know this is her family. Dolores showed interest in the harp and guitar so she taught her how to play them.
She can make the best pan dulce in the world, or to her family at least. Others can agree though, she owns her very own bakery and one of the top-selling things is her pan dulce. It will make you smile with just one bite.
75 years old
Abuelo Felix(or Abuelo Feli) is the kindest and happiest man you could ever meet.
You can tell where Felix got his looks from.
He can tell when someone is upset and he will try to make them happy the best he can.
Feli loves to play the Tuba and he usually helps the town's band for festivals and such.
He owns a dance studio and helps people of all ages learn how to groove.
Did I mention this man loves parties? yeah, he loves parties. He mostly helps with planning holidays, birthdays, quinceaneras, quinceaneros, etc. He just loves planning special occasions and family get-to-together in general.
Feli doesn't have any respect for Alma, he would have never thought she would put so much pressure on her children AND grandchildren. Knowing that kind of makes Feli feels bad for Alma's children and grandchildren.

Maceo is just the same as the rest of his family Happy, kind, & funny. But he's a little more on the shyer side.
He took up goldsmithing like his mama and works at her bakery as well.
Maceo can see when something wrong with someone and he knew there was something up with the madrigal family from the start.
He agreed to keep the madrigal name far away from the Arcoíris mouth as long as Bruno never mentioned it.
Maceo is the type of guy who hangs in the corner at parties, he can dance extremely well it's just that parties aren't his thing. He also tends to have sensory overload so there's only so much the guy can take.
When he learned Dolores had sensory issues due to her gift, he made her special earmuffs to help her through.
His favorite activity is sewing and making up new clothing designs.
Fun fact, he made Dolores's, Camilo's, Bijou's, and Chantale's quinceanera dresses.
45 years old
Sophia is a very sweet but strict woman.
She mostly keeps to herself but will come out for pleasantries if she wants to.
Her tough aura makes people unsure of her and it's very hard to make her smile.
She's the author of many books in the category of romance, horror, mystery, and fantasy.
she cannot cook to save her life and she's thankful for her husband Maceo.
She knows every survival tactic known to man "just in case".
Very good at archery and knife throwing.
Sophia knows about the madrigals but she has a hard time believing in magical gifts.
She's a realist if you can't tell
14 years old
Chantale is much like her parents except she doesn't have the stoic look and tough aura like her mother.
She's very sweet and quiet, and she prefers reading and science more than outdoor activities.
Chanti speaks her mind pretty often and doesn't have many friends because of it.
She loves engineering and hopes to make many aircraft and transportation machines when she gets older.
Chanti is what you would call the steampunk girl. She has many gadgets and gizmos in her room & in the house that serve some sort of purpose.
All the steam she uses for her inventions is made from plants, globing warming was a thing in the 1950s and she hated it.
Chanti also loves insects, she shares this love with her primo Antonio who loves animals.
whenever there's a new animal book she brings it back home to share it with Tonito.
Chanti knows nothing of the madrigals but she is curious as to why Bruno never talks about his family.
12 years old
Bijou is the 2nd "goth" of the family. She's dark and broody and she will punch you.
All she reads is dark fantasy and won't miss a chance to scare her younger cousins and little brother with monster stories. Sophia had to remove all dark fantasy from her home because of it but Jou still finds a way to read it.
She's also the trickster of the family and won't pass up pranking her family with Camilo.
Her standoffish and tough aura makes people scared of her and she loves it.
In reality, she's just as kind and sweet as her family but not even god himself will get that out of her.
Her kindness is rare, she will only help someone if they most certainly need help.
She doesn't know about the madrigals and quite frankly she doesn't care to know about Bruno's family. It doesn't even cross her mind.
She and Bruno don't talk much, it's not her fault though, her colors remind Bruno of Alma so he tries to dodge her any way he can.
When she gets older she wants to be a special FX makeup artist and an actress.
5 years old
Juan is a confident and outgoing boy.
He loves dinosaurs and will tell you about every single kind there is.
Juan sees his younger cousins as siblings because they are so close in age
He's scared of his sister Bijou and his older cousin Bruno Jr "their creepy and scary" he says.
He's very truthful like his older sister, but unlike her, he's a little cuter about it.
He likes to paint, and his room is filled with paper, crayons, acrylics, colored pencils, etc.
He's also currently learning how to play the guitar like his prima, he's being taught it by his Abuela of course.
Juan is a momma's boy, that's all.

can we talk about how during the quinceanero, when gina says that it was seb who showed her the video of carlos dancing, seb’s first reaction is to look down with that shy smile and carlos’ first reaction was to turn to seb
but then seb looks up and sees carlos smiling and seb’s smile just gets wider and they don’t need any words because they both just get each other
and the way that they’re seated is such a great opposite to how they’re seated when carlos serenades seb with in a heartbeat, but seb’s little smile glancing down then up at carlos is a mirror to his smile during the quinceanero and it’s really the way they contrast and mirror each other that makes me so soft for them and their smiles too they look so happy and in this essay i will -
