the case in 14x12 ‘prophet and loss’
it’s partially about someone losing an older brother and his grief, and takes place when dean’s about to lock himself up with michael for eternity.
they then try to stop the person who killed said older brother, fail, and he kills himself because he can’t handle the alternative.. as sam is trying to convince dean not to commit suicide-plus. the reason dean’s about to condemn himself to eternal torture? because he can’t handle the idea of michael being free on earth.
