Charles stops and takes a few deep breaths.

He smooths his hands down over his shirt, the scratchy linen falling light on his shoulders. The air is cold and scented with something clean and fresh, soapy.

He stares at the wood grain of the door — breath in, out — and pushes it open.

Sebastian Vettel looks exceedingly normal sat on the couch.

His sunglasses are pushed back onto his head and ankles crossed. He’s wearing a pair of worn brown loafers, comfortable jeans, the casual style of someone who doesn’t have to flaunt it for people to know how important they are.

He’s halfway through saying something, hands gesturing in the air when he turns to look at Charles at the door.

“Hello,” Sebastian says, pleasant but sharp, “nice of you to join us.”

Charles stutters back into motion.

“Yes! Yes, so sorry,” he hurries to the free seat, wiping his hands nervously on his trousers, “the traffic, it was so bad.”

the premise is that charles is a breakout actor and this is his first Big Role after starring in an indie-sundance-cannes-film-fest-hit, and he's cast alongside famous-academy-award-winner sebastian vettel! so for him this is a massively big deal and he's fizzing

on the other hand, seb is coming off a long run of mediocre bad career decision movies and is slowly losing his passion for the craft, and is desperately disillusioned with the state of Big Hollywood as he sees it (think: martin scorsese marvel isn't cinema, vibes), and every other day critics and reviews are like VETTEL WASHED OUT? [terrible paparazzi pic]

seb not wanting to be upstaged by charles but also seeing his clear talent that should be nurtured.... the hero worship of charles who's watched every single one of his movies including the shitty indie ones from his youth.... the sebchal dynamic 5ever!

Kinda love rewatching 5Ds episodes on youtube and finding for some reason, people in the comments actually questioning how in dub, its said Luna was a dueling prodigy at three years old. Like, its Yu-Gi-Oh. A-lot of weird shit has been thrown around before, why is the whole Luna had been a dueling prodigy at three years old suddenly where the line is drawn.

“I don’t know a lot about love or romance so I don’t know if love at first sight is real or not. Sorry.”

“A deal breaker?...I haven’t been in a relationship before but I would assume if my partner is mean… but then I won’t exactly be in a relationship with the person if she was mean…”

19: How do you know it's time to end a relationship?

“I would have no idea. I have never been in a relationship before but I would assume when both people no longer love each other anymore?”

Something to note about Regulus is that he is very innocent/naive when it comes to matters like this. He is a prodigy when it comes to fighting but anything else, there is a lot he does not know, he is still a child. This has also been stated in canon too lol. He has only been focused on getting stronger and fighting.

I do headcanon that he has a crush and feelings for Connor Lugh, but in his general verse, that was all it was. Regulus never chased his feelings or confessed to Connor. He is a saint, his duty is to only fight for Athena and protect the innocent and his goal is to get revenge for his father. He knew as a saint, he had a very high chance of dying. He didn't think he was good enough for Connor and he didn't want her to be unhappy so he kept his feelings to himself. As much as it hurts him, he hopes that Connor will one day find the man who will make her the happiest person. So as you can see, his knowledge and experience in romance is zero lol.

Unless we are talking about Happily Ever After verse where we get to ignore canon and see him live and marry Connor lol. In that verse, he would have more romance knowledge and experience lol.

We as a fandom should really do more with Hazel and Piper as a duo and the two of them grappling with their pasts being manipulated by the Giant army through their parents being held hostage.

And Frank and Leo both having a fear of fire (particularly also Leo having literally died via intentionally overexerting his fire powers in HoO - going out the same way his mother did, even acknowledging that with his dying breaths, and how that aligns with how Frank has spent his entire life presuming he will die via fire burning up his lifeline) and the fact that both of them lost their mothers who they were extremely close to.

And Jason and Annabeth, both being architecture nerds who were raised in their respective camps and considered prodigies and young leaders. Both taken under the wing of guardians of their camps. Both siblings of Thalia's, by blood or adoption.

And Reyna and Percy, both whose first monsters were within their own homes. Who for the longest time only had a single family member to hold on to against the world. Who had to carve a place for themselves and climb their way to being a leader in their respective camps when they were new - and befriending the camp's blond(e) brainiac star pupil along the way.

Really just the character parallels within the backstories and experiences of the Argo II crew in general.

So, Leo and Donnie were raised first as the Grand Nexus Hotel's most spoiled twins, and then as the infamous Gemini in the Battle Nexus under Big Mama's wing... So then where's Mikey?

(mystical prodigy) (alchemical genius) (prophesized leader and defender)

enter -> michelangelo, son of baron draxum

mikey was raised by their creator, draxum, as the beginning of the army that will one day defend yokai-kind from the prophesized threat on the horizon. he was not originally given a name, typically referred to as 'turtle' or 'mutant,' until they got old enough to want one and asked draxum for one. when draxum suggested he instead name himself, he hemmed and hawwed for some time before 'michelangelo' came to him in a dream. draxum thought it was silly at first, but saw that it made mikey... happy, and so now invariably refers to him as such.

in addition to martial arts, survival skills, and military strategy, draxum took the time to teach his son creation the art of alchemy, which he took to like a fish to water ("it's just like cooking!") and often incorporates alchemical mixes and potions into combat. he also has a tendency to add brightly colored dyes to his concoctions-- just for the fun of it.

and i don't need to tell you this boy is mystic as fuck, right? draxum was thrilled by his creation son's immense raw potential and innate abilities, and has been working to help him hone these skills since he was old enough to sit upright. donatello may be a witch, but when if mikey were to ever meet them, they would laugh and call them cute.

being raised by draxum has hardened mikey somewhat, leading to him being a bit more intense and focused, but raising mikey softened draxum in turn.

What is Draxum's relationships with each of his kids?

I'd assume he's closest to Mikey due to their shared interest in the mystic arts, as well as Mikey's emotional attachment to anyone he considers family 🥰

I find it funny how similar Donnie and Draxum are in cannon and I wonder how that will play out in this AU

The same thing with Leo and Splinter were very similar to each other despite being on opposing sides.

Yeah, I'd say Draxum and Mikey are the closest with each other. Draxum loves all his sons, but he really has a soft spot for Mikey. Mikey in turn is very devoted to Draxum, I've mentioned it before but Mikey's strong desire to do the right thing paired up with a lifetime of his father convincing him that destroying humanity is the right thing has led to Mikey being very determined to fulfill Draxum's plan. Also him being a prodigy with mystic powers leads to him spending a lot of time training his abilites with Draxum.

Raph is basically Draxum's second in command, as the oldest of his brothers he of course is the leader of the team when Draxum isn't the one issuing out orders. Draxum puts a lot of responsibility on Raph, responsibility that Raph very much takes seriously so Draxum as a result also has a lot of trust in him.

Poor Leo is still very much dealing with some intense Middle Child Syndrome here lol. To be clear, Draxum still loves Leo, and vice versa, but Draxum's role as a parent has a tendency to clash with his role as a... what, a military commander? Something along those lines. Listen, he's preparing to lead the yokai into war against the humans, and with his sons on the frontlines he needs to quickly figure out their individual strengths so that can help them evolve their specific skillsets. Mikey has his mystic abilities, Raph has his physical power and Leo.... Well, we know that Leo's expertise lies in his strategic thinking, except neither he nor Draxum has figured that out yet lol. Draxum is the leader, he comes up with the plans, and Raph's in charge otherwise. He doesn't notice Leo's leadership capabilities because he doesn't even think to look for them.

Leo's situation is kinda similar in this AU to what is in canon, where his self-esteem issues caused by him not feeling like he's bringing enough to the team paired up with him being a total Daddy's Boy and craving parental validation that he doesn't feel like he's getting because Draxum is more focused on Leo's brothers so he acts out to get attention and again Draxum's parental duties clashes with his WAR LORD duties or whatever because dammit son I love you but you need to quit goofing off you're a soldier and uh.... yeah...... Leo feeling a bit like the black sheep of his family (hah, sheep, cuz Draxum's a... hah) is another contributing factor to him being the first to turn sides.

And yeah, you make a good point, Donnie being so similar to Draxum vs Leo being so similar to Splinter is.... ooooooo, that's fun, there's so much potential there. Draxum's definitely dissapointed that Donnie's so gifted when it comes to the sciences only for him to be all like "Alchemy??🤨🤨🤨 Mystic science??🤨🤨🤨 That's not scientifically accurate!🤨🤨🤨" and just rejecting almost anything yokai-related.

Actually, Leo reminding Draxum of Splinter has a lot of fun possibilites too. Draxum being all like "Ah, he's just like Lou Jitsu!🤩" while simultaniously being all like "Ugh, he's just like Lou Jitsu...😒"

wait actually let me explain how stupid the timeline for CJ is.

Jason is given to Lupa at 2

We time skip and Jason already in the fifth cohort this happened sometime between his 4th birthday to twelfth.

Reyna arrives one year later, Octavian is presumably a already there too along with Dakota, Gwen & Bobby.

The Charleston quest happens with Reyna and Jason and (?) either Jason or Reyna are already centurion or (?) is

Jason strangles the Trojan Sea Monster

…Either Jason or Reyna become Centurions or both if the (?) was the centurion on the quest.

At ~15 Jason is scouting with several others to storm mount Otherys, Reyna is presumably a few months into be being praetor despite it being only three years despite long-timers Jason and Octavian who are very influential just not having that position.

Same three days as TLO the Romans storm Mount Otherys, presumably losing many people and having no ‘hey claim your fucking kids’ should lack the ability to make up the numbers.

~Jason is made Praetor, probably after hacking Krios to bits with zero godly intervention except maybe Hera at one point. (save jason and kill thalia type of deal which fits her)

~Two weeks later Nico shows up with Hazel and Thanatos goes missing around the same time (no one died in that time? Not from festering wounds or attempted suicide after the battle they just witnessed??)

~December, Jason goes missing could also be late November for Hera to properly gaslight Leo and Piper and get them in place.

No one goes looking for Jason despite it being 3 days to a month of him being gone outside of California because *superstition*

Presumably, the Camp continues to function for 7-9 months without a 2nd Praetor especially one of their more powerful ones with direct ties to Juno just not being there

Hazel becomes a full blown member (the good shit)

Frank arrives two weeks after his mom’s funeral….That’s not long enough?? Percy probably stayed with Lupa for at least a month for him to learn all that, Frank should be there later than Percy, the same time as Percy or Rick should fix his timeline issues.

All of Jason’s work for the past 6-12 years has just vanished into thin air in 7-9 months and no one tries to hold on to his ideas for camp.

Yeah, I don’t completely understand the timeline either. The first 10 years of Jason’s CJ is so mysterious and we don’t even know what was Reyna’s cohort or centurion despite it probably playing a role of why she so quickly rose to praetorship. I personally go with her Cohort being the Second and her centurion being a descendent of Jupiter and later on Bellona giving him some weight to put behind Reyna as his successor.

Frank’s little timeline weirdness is mostly not taking into account the distance between Canada and California along with the timeline Rick gave Percy who is usually the prodigy in picking up skills. This is why i’m trying to pepper in events in my HOO collection on Ao3 because there is nothing. Fucking nothing and it’s stressing me out.
